中文摘要:为进一步评价南方小花蝽Orius strigicollis的生物防治潜能,明确南方小花蝽高龄若虫以及成虫对西花蓟马Frankliniella occidentalis成虫的捕食作用及其种内互残行为。在室内通过捕食功能反应试验评价南方小花蝽对西花蓟马成虫的捕食能力,通过南方小花蝽种内互残的选择与非选择性试验分析不同龄期、不同猎物密度下南方小花蝽的种内互残行为。结果表明,南方小花蝽4~5龄若虫和雌雄成虫对西花蓟马的捕食功能反应均符合Holling II型方程,捕食能力评价指标a'/Th大小依次为雌成虫(33.2)>雄成虫(18.8)>5龄若虫(16.7)>4龄若虫(11.7)。种内互残试验结果表明,在没有蓟马的环境下南方小花蝽4、5龄若虫平均死亡数量分别为1.5头和1.7头,显著高于对照。接入南方小花蝽雌成虫后,当西花蓟马若虫密度为10头时的死亡数量高于密度为5头时的死亡数量。当南方小花蝽雌成虫:若虫:蓟马数量比为1:5:5时,南方小花蝽1龄若虫死亡数量最高,为2.3头;当南方小花蝽雌成虫:若虫:蓟马数量为1:5:50头时,南方小花蝽若虫的死亡数量均较低。表明南方小花蝽尤其是雌成虫对西花蓟马成虫具有较强的控制潜力;在没有猎物或者猎物不充足时南方小花蝽高龄若虫(4~5龄期)间互残更激烈,雌成虫在猎物密度低时对低龄期(1~3龄期)若虫表现出更强的攻击性,因此,在南方小花蝽饲养和运输中应尽量避免不同龄期混合。

Abstract:To further evaluate the potential of minute pirate bug Orius strigicollis as a biological control agent and determine the predatory function of late-instar nymphs of O. strigicollis to western flower thrips Frankliniella occidentalis adults and the intraspecific cannibalism in O. strigicollis, the predatory functional response of O. strigicollis to F. occidentalis adults was analyzed, and the intraspecific cannibalism of O. strigicollis at different stages and different prey densities were analyzed through choice and non-choice experiments in the laboratory. The results showed that the predatory functional responses of the 4th-5th instar nymphs, male and female O. strigicollis adults to F. occidentalis conformed to the Holling II disc equation. The predation ability evaluated by the index a'/Th from strong to weak was as followed: female adult (33.2), male adult (18.8), 5th-instar nymph (16.7) and 4th-instar nymph (11.7). The behavioral test results of intraspecific cannibalism showed that the average death numbers of 4th- and 5th-instar nymphs of O. strigicollis were 1.5 and 1.7 individuals under the condition without thrips, which were significantly higher than that of the control. The death number of O. strigicollis nymphs at a density of ten individuals was higher than that of five individuals when O. strigicollis female adults co-existed. The 1st-instar nymphs of O. strigicollis had the highest death number of 2.3 bugs at the ratio of adult female to nymph to thrips of 1∶5∶5, but the death number of O. strigicollis nymphs was lower at the ratio of adult female to nymph to thrips of 1∶5∶50. These results indicated that O. strigicollis, especially the female adult, had a strong control potential against adult F. occidentalis, and the intraspecific cannibalism among nymphs (4th-5th instar) was stronger under the conditions without preys or without enough preys. Compared with other stages, female adults showed stronger aggression against its 1st-3rd instar nymphs when the prey densities were lower. Mixing different stages of O. strigicollis tend to cause intraspecific cannibalism, which should be avoided when rearing or transporting O. strigicollis.
