Resistance to the fungicide boscalid in laboratory mutants of Botryotinia fuckeliana (Botrytis cinerea) was investigated. The baseline sensitivity to boscalid was evaluated in terms of colony growth (EC50 = 0.3–3 μg ml−1; MIC = 10–30 μg ml−1) and conidial germination (EC50 = 0.03–0.1 μg ml−1; MIC = 1–3 μg ml−1) tests. Mutants were selected in vitro from wild-type strains of the fungus on a fungicide-amended medium containing acetate as a carbon source. Mutants showed
two different levels of resistance to boscalid, distinguishable through the conidial germination tests: low (EC50 ∼ 0.3 μg ml−1, ranging from 0.03 to 1 μg ml−1; MIC > 100 μg ml−1) and high (EC50 > 100 μg ml−1) resistance. Analysis of meiotic progeny from crosses between resistant mutants and sensitive reference strains showed that
resistant phenotypes were due to mutations in single major gene(s) inherited in a Mendelian fashion, and linked with both
the Daf1 and Mbc1 genes, responsible for resistance to dicarboximide and benzimidazole fungicides, respectively. Gene sequence analysis of
the four sub-units of the boscalid-target protein, the succinate dehydrogenase enzyme, revealed that single or double point
mutations in the highly conserved regions of the iron-sulphur protein (Ip) gene were associated with resistance. Mutations
resulted in proline to leucine or phenylalanine replacements at position 225 (P225L or P225F) in high resistant mutants, and
in a histidine to tyrosine replacement at position 272 (H272Y) in low resistant mutants. Sequences of the flavoprotein and
the two transmembrane sub-units of succinate dehydrogenase were never affected. 相似文献

From 2004 to 2006, 213 isolates of Botrytis cinerea never exposed to QO center inhibitors (QOIs) were collected to determine the baseline sensitivity to azoxystrobin. In the absence of salicylhydroxamic acid (SHAM),
the mean EC50 values were 10.49 ± 13.12 and 0.36 ± 0.48 mg l−1 for inhibiting mycelial growth and conidium germination, respectively. In the presence of SHAM, the mean EC50 values were 2.24 ± 1.29 and 0.22 ± 0.11 mg l−1. In 2010, five azoxystrobin-resistant isolates were detected with the resistance frequency of 2.25% in greenhouse tomatoes
after 4 years of continuous exposure. These resistant isolates showed cross-resistance to other QOIs but not to boscalid. In addition, these resistant isolates had comparable growth, sporulation and pathogenicity ability
as sensitive isolates and maintained resistance in plants and the presence of SHAM. The G143A point mutation predicted to
cause a change from glycine to alanine at codon 143 of cyt b gene was found in all resistant isolates. 相似文献

Stem rot caused by Lasiodiplodia theobromae is an important postharvest disease of papaya in Brazil, responsible for reducing the quality and quantity of fruits. Fungicide
use is one of the main disease management measures. However, there are no estimates available of pathogen sensitivity to commonly
employed fungicides. Therefore, the EC50 from 120 isolates of L. theobromae from northeastern Brazil, representative of six populations of the pathogen, was estimated in vitro for fungicides of the
methyl benzimidazole carbamates—MBC (benomyl and thiabendazole) and demethylation-inhibiting—DMI (imazalil, prochloraz, tebuconazole)
groups. Mycelial growth on fungicide-free media and virulence on papaya fruits of the MBC-sensitive and non-sensitive isolates
were compared. For MBCs, 8.4% of isolates were non-sensitive to fungicides. For the remaining 91.6%, the mean EC50 ranged from 0.002 to 0.13 μg ml−1 and 0.36 to 1.27 μg ml−1 for benomyl and thiabendazole, respectively. For DMIs, the mean EC50 range for imazalil was 0.001 to 2.27 μg ml−1, 0.04 to 1.75 μg ml−1 for prochloraz, and 0.14 to 4.05 μg ml−1 for tebuconazole. The EC50 values of non-sensitive isolates were significantly (P≤0.05) higher those for the sensitive isolates for each of the DMI fungicides. Differences (P≤0.05) were found in the levels of sensitivity to DMI fungicides among the isolate populations associated with orchards. The
populations from two orchards were less sensitive to DMIs. No solid evidence was found for fitness costs relating to MBC non-sensitive
isolates because mycelial growth in fungicide-free media and virulence on papaya fruits were similar to those of sensitive
isolates. 相似文献

The baseline sensitivity ofFusarium graminearum Schwade [teleomorph =Gibberella zeae (Schweinitz) Petch] to the fungicide JS399-19 (development code no.) [2-cyano-3-amino-3-phenylacrylic acetate] and the assessment
of risk to JS399-19 resistancein vitro are presented. The mean EC50 values for JS399-19 inhibiting mycelial growth of three populations of wild-typeF. graminearum isolates were 0.102±0.048, 0.113±0.035 and 0.110±0.036 μg ml−1, respectively. Through UV irradiation and selection for resistance to the fungicide, we obtained a total of 76 resistant
mutants derived from five wild-type isolates ofF. graminearum with an average frequency of 1.71 × 10−7% and 3.5%, respectively. These mutants could be divided into three categories of resistant phenotypes with low (LR), moderate
(MR) and high (HR) level of resistance, determined by the EC50 values of 1.5–15.0 μg ml−1, 15.1–75.0 μg ml−1 and more than 75.0 μg ml−1, respectively. There was no positive cross-resistance between JS399-19 and fungicides belonging to other chemical classes,
such as benzimidazoles, ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitors and strobilurins, suggesting that JS399-19 presumably has a new
biochemical mode of action. Although the resistant mutants appeared to have comparable pathogenicity to their wild-type parental
isolates, they showed decreased mycelial growth on potato-sucrose-agar plates and decreased sporulation capacity in mung bean
broth. Nevertheless, most of the resistant mutants possessed fitness levels comparable to their parents and had MR or HR levels
of resistance. As these studies yielded a high frequency of laboratory resistance inF. graminearum, appropriate precautions against resistance development in natural populations should be taken into account.

The apple rust mite Aculus schlechtendali (Nal.) (Acari: Eriophyidae), is a main pest in apple-growing areas in Ankara, Turkey, and chemical control applications have
some limitations. Entomopathogenic fungi have a potential for biological control of mites. In this study, an entomopathogenic
fungus, Paecilomyces lilacinus (Thom) Samson (Deuteromycota: Hyphomycetes), was first isolated from the mite cadavers on Japanese crab apple leaves and
pathogenicity of the fungus was observed in different inoculum densities and relative humidities. The pathogen caused up to
98.22% mortality of the mite population. The effects of some fungicides on the entomopathogenic fungus were determined in
in vitro studies. Carbendazim, penconazole and tebuconazole were the most effective fungicides on mycelial growth of P. lilacinus, with EC50 values under 3 μg ml−1. In spore germination tests, captan, mancozeb, propineb were the most effective fungicides, followed by tebuconazole, penconazole,
nuarimol and chlorothalonil. Sulphur could not inhibit the conidia germination totally at 5,000 μg ml−1. Copper oxychloride and fosetyl-al prevented conidia formation at concentrations above 1,000 μg ml−1. 相似文献

The effects of some fungicides used against citrus diseases, on mycelial growth and conidial germination of Isaria farinosa (Holmsk.) Fries [Sordariomycetes: Hypocreales] and also on the pathogenicity of the fungus on citrus mealybug, Planococcus citri (Risso), were determined. Systemic fungicides such as tebuconazole, penconazole and nuarimol were the most effective as regards
both conidial germination and mycelial growth. Protective fungicides such as captan, chlorothalonil, mancozeb and propineb
inhibited conidial germination at between 1 and 5 μg ml−1 concentration, but captan, chlorothalonil and propineb did not inhibit the mycelial growth at 5,000 μg ml−1. Mancozeb inhibited mycelial growth between 2,500 and 5,000 μg ml−1. Sulphur and copper oxychloride did not inhibit the fungus even at very high concentrations. Sulphur, copper oxychloride,
fosetyl-al, chlorothalonil and carbendazim did not decrease the mortality percentage caused by I. farinosa. Tebuconazole, penconazole and mancozeb were the most effective and respectively reduced the mortality from 83% to 33%, 28%
and 30% in the ovisacs, from 81% to 29%, 27% and 29% in the 1st instar larvae, and from 84% to 34% in the adult females. 相似文献

Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola, the causal agent of rice leaf streak disease, was found to be sensitive to streptomycin (an aminocyclitol glycoside antibiotic),
by inhibition of protein synthesis resulting from interference with translational proofreading. This study aimed to determine
the molecular resistance mechanism of X. oryzae pv. oryzicola to streptomycin. Seven streptomycin-resistant mutants were obtained by UV induction or streptomycin selection. These mutants
can grow at 100 μg ml−1 of streptomycin while the wild-type strain (RS105) cannot grow at 5 μg ml−1. Sequencing indicated that the rpsL gene encoding ribosomal protein S12 has 375 bp encoding 125 amino acid residues. In all resistant strains, a mutation in
which AAG was substituted for AGG (Lys→Arg) occurred either at codon 43 or 88. Two plasmids, pUFRRS and pUFRRX, were constructed
by ligating the rpsL gene into the cosmid pUFR034. The plasmids pUFRRS and pUFRRX containing the Lys→Arg mutation of the rpsL gene conferred streptomycin resistance to the sensitive wild-type strain by electroporation. Both transformants, RS1 and
RS2, could grow in the medium containing 50 μg ml−1 of streptomycin. A mutation at codon 43 or 88 in rpsL can result in resistance of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola to streptomycin. 相似文献

Wild type (WT) field isolates of Bremia lactucae failed to germinate in vitro or infect lettuce leaves in the presence of CAA (carboxylic acid amide) fungicides. Minimal
inhibitory concentrations (MIC) for mandipropamid, dimethomorph, benthiavalicarb and iprovalicarb were 0.005, 0.5, 0.5 and
5 μg ml−1, respectively. Mutagenesis experiments showed that spores exposed to EMS (ethyl methane sulphonate) or UV irradiation (254 nm)
could infect lettuce leaves in the presence of up to 100 μg ml−1 CAA. The proportion of infected leaves relative to the number of spores inoculated (infection frequency) was inversely related
to the concentration of CAA used, ranging between 0 and 160 per 1 × 106 spores. Resistant mutants (RM) lost their resistance within 1–14 reproduction cycles on CAA-treated plants. Crosses were
made between RMxWT isolates and RMxRM isolates with an attempt to obtain stable homozygous resistant off-springs. Such crosses
yielded few resistant but unstable progeny isolates. Mutagenic treatments given to hybrid isolates also failed to produce
stable resistance. Previous gene sequencing data showed that stable resistance to CAAs is based on a single SNP in the cellulose synthase 3 (CesA3) gene of Plasmopara viticola. Therefore, we sequenced a 582 bp DNA fragment of Ces3A of WT, RM and hybrid isolates of B.lactucae. No mutation in this gene fragment was found. We conclude that mutagenic agents like EMS or UV may induce resistance to CAA
in Bremia lactucae but this resistance is not stable and not linked to mutations in CesA3 gene. 相似文献

Cucurbit powdery mildew caused by Podosphaera fusca limits crop production in Spain. Since its management is strongly dependent on chemicals, the rational design of control programmes requires a good understanding of the fungicide resistance phenomenon in field populations. Fifty single-spore isolates of P. fusca were tested for sensitivity to three quinone-outside inhibiting (QoI) fungicides: azoxystrobin, kresoxim-methyl and trifloxystrobin. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values for QoI-sensitive isolates were found to range from 0.25 to 10 μg ml−1 for azoxystrobin to 5–25 μg ml−1 for kresoxim-methyl, using a leaf disc-based bioassay. High levels of cross-resistance to QoI fungicides were found. Eleven isolates showed resistance to the three QoI fungicides tested with MIC and EC50 values >500 μg ml−1 resulting in RF values as high as >715 and >1000 for trifloxystrobin and azoxystrobin, respectively. A survey of P. fusca QoI resistance was carried out in different provinces located in the south central area of Spain during the cucurbit growing seasons in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Examination of a collection of 250 isolates for QoI resistance revealed that 32% were resistant to the three fungicides tested; the provinces of Ciudad Real, Córdoba and Murcia being the locations with the highest frequencies of resistance (44–74%). By contrast, no resistance was found in Badajoz, and relatively low frequencies were observed in Almería and Valencia (10–13%). Nearly 50% of resistant isolates were collected from melon plants. Based on these data, recommendations about the use of QoI fungicides for cucurbit powdery mildew management in the sampled areas are made. 相似文献

A granulosis virus strain infecting Pieris brassicae (PbGV) was isolated from the dry temperate region of northwestern Himalayas as a potential microbial agent for its management.
The effect of different botanicals (having insecticidal action against P. brassicae) on the bioefficacy of PbGV was evaluated under laboratory conditions using leaf disc bioassays on cabbage for improving
the insecticidal performance of the PbGV. The synergistic action of different botanical extracts was evident in terms of reduction
in LC50 values against different botanical extracts. Among different extracts, petroleum-ether extract of neem seed kernel (NSK)
when combined with PbGV resulted in maximum reduction of LC50 value (4.39 × 102 occlusion bodies [OBs] ml−1) followed by methanolic extract (7.38 × 102 OBs ml−1) and aqueous extract (9.36 × 103 OBs ml−1) as compared with PbGV alone (1.85 × 104 OBs ml−1) for 2nd instar larvae of the test insect. These trends were found analogous in cases of 3rd and 4th instars of P. brassicae with different solvent extracts of NSK. The other botanicals evaluated, viz., Eupatorium and Artemesia, also resulted in reduction of LC50 values for 2nd, 3rd and 4th instars as compared with PbGV alone when different extracts were combined with virus for bioassays.
The studies suggest that the PbGV in combination with botanical pesticides could be more useful as a bio-pesticide against
cabbage butterfly (P. brassicae) in IPM programs. 相似文献

In this study the effect of different cropping systems and crop successions was evaluated on natural Fusarium sp. contamination and fumonisin levels in corn. The cropping systems consisted of a conventional and no-tillage area cultivated
with corn in the summer following either oats or fallow in the winter (2006 and 2007 growing seasons). In addition, the effect
of applying nitrogen fertilizer (0, 22.5, 45.0, 90.0 and 90.0 kg ha−1 nitrogen supplemented with potassium oxide) on fumonisin contamination was evaluated in the 2006 growing season. Fusarium sp. was detected in 90% samples in 2006 and in 100% samples in 2007. In both growing seasons, no-till corn following oats
showed the highest mean fumonisin levels and differed significantly (P < 0.05) from all the others (2006) and from conventional till corn following either oats or fallow in the winter (2007).
Fumonisin levels ranged from 0.13 to 19.52 μg g−1 (mean 6.97 μg g−1) and from 3.70 to 7.75 μg g−1 (mean 6.29 μg g−1) in no-till corn following oats from the 2006 and 2007 growing seasons, respectively. Plots treated with 0 kg ha−1 and 22.5 kg ha−1 nitrogen showed the highest mean fumonisin levels and differed significantly from those with 45.0 and 90 kg ha−1 nitrogen. Fumonisin levels correlated negatively (P < 0.05) with the nitrogen fertilization rates. Although no-till is advantageous from a soil conservation standpoint, it may
enhance the potential for fumonisin contamination in corn. 相似文献

The yeast Pichia anomala strain K was selected in Belgium from the apple surface for its antagonistic activity against post-harvest diseases of apples.
The efficacy of this strain against P. expansum was evaluated in the laboratory in three scenarios designed to mimic practical conditions, with different periods of incubation
between biological treatment, wounding of fruit surface, and pathogen inoculation. Higher protection levels and higher final
yeast densities were obtained when the applied initial concentration was 1 × 108 cfu ml−1 than when it was only 1 × 105 cfu ml−1. The protection level correlated positively with the yeast density determined in wounds and was influenced by apple surface
wetness. In orchard trials spanning two successive years, biological treatment against P. expansum, based on a powder of P. anomala strain K (1 × 107 cfu ml−1), β-1,3-glucans (YGT 2 g l−1), and CaCl2.2H20 (20 g l−1), was applied to apples pre- or post-harvest under practical conditions and its effect compared with standard chemical treatments.
The first year, the highest reduction (95.2%) against blue decay was obtained by means of four successive fungicide treatments
and the next-highest level (87.6%) with pre-harvest high-volume spraying of the three-component mixture 12 days before harvest.
The second year, the best results were obtained with post-harvest Sumico (carbendazim 25% and diethofencarb 25%) treatment
and post-harvest biological treatment, both by dipping the apples, 88.3 and 56.3% respectively. A density threshold of 1 × 104 cfu cm−2 of strain K on the apple surface seemed to be required just after harvest for high protective activity, whatever the method
and time of application. In the case of pre-harvest biological treatments, variations in meteorological conditions between
the 2 years may have considerably affected strain K population density and its efficacies. 相似文献

A Gram-negative rhizobacterial isolate (LSW25) antagonistic to Pseudomonas corrugata, a vein necrosis pathogen of tomato, and promotes the growth of tomato seedlings was isolated from surface-sterilised tomato roots. A spontaneous rifampicin-resistant
mutant (LSW25R) was selected to facilitate its tracking, and identified as Pseudomonas sp. and named as Pseudomonas sp. LSW25R (LSW25R), based on its sequences of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region and 16 S rRNA gene. LSW25R inhibited
mycelial growth of 12 other plant fungal pathogens such as Botrytis cinerea on V8 agar plates. By using a scanning electron microscope, LSW25R colonised not only the root surface around the natural
aperture of tomato radicles but also under epidermal cells like endophytic bacteria. LSW25R successfully colonised the roots
of tomato, eggplant and pepper seedlings, significantly promoted the fresh weight, height and dry matter of tomato plants
at 108 cfu·ml−1, and increased the plant growth of eggplants and peppers at 104 cfu·ml−1, suggesting that the optimal population density of LSW25R for growth promotion varies from species to species. Moreover,
densities of LSW25R inside roots and the lowest leaf of tomato plants were > 9.3 × 103 cfu·g−1. Although the growth promotion of tomato by LSW25R was observed under N- or Ca-deficient conditions as well as a standard
nutrient condition, the uptake of calcium was increased only under the standard nutrient condition. In a hydroponic system,
LSW25R not only successfully colonised the rhizosphere during cultivation due to its broad spectrum of antifungal activity
and endophytic colonisation, but also reduced blossom-end rot of tomato fruits presumably through increasing calcium uptake. 相似文献

Two hundred isolates ofBotrytis cinerea were collected from greenhouse vegetables between 2003 and 2006 to determine their baseline sensitivity to triadimefone,
penconazole, tebuconazole and fenhexamid. Mean values of 50% effective concentrations (EC50) of inhibiting growth were 4.853±5.102, 0.41±0.215, 0.19±0.099 and 0.36±0.891 mgl
−1, respectively (mean±SD). Individuals ofB. cinerea in the population differed by a factor (EC50 of the least sensitive isolate/EC50 of the most sensitive isolate) of 6625, 20, 603 and 1800, respectively. Naturally fenhexamid-resistant isolates were detected
with an unexpected high frequency of 10% although the pathogen population had never been exposed to this fungicide. The resistance
level (mean EC50 of resistant isolates / mean EC50 of sensitive isolates) was 19.5. These naturally resistant isolates also were resistantin vivo, and there was no significant difference in growth rate, conidial production or pathogenicity ability between naturally resistant
and wild sensitive isolates. These results indicated that there was a potential risk of practical resistance if fenhexamid
was applied alone. Negative cross-resistance was observed between fenhexamid and tebuconazole in 90% of the naturally resistant
isolates. Moreover, an obvious synergism of the antifungal activity of fenhexamid by tebuconazole was demonstrated in some
of the naturally fenhexamid-resistant isolates.

Single-lesion isolates ofCercospora beticola (n=150) were collected in 1998 from sugar beet fields in the area of Serres, N. Greece. In this area, sterol demethylation-inhibiting
(DMI) fungicides have been used for almost 20 years to control sugar beet leaf spot. The sensitivity of these isolates to
the DMI fungicides flutriafol and difenoconazole (EC50 values) was determined on the basis of inhibition of mycelial growth at several fungicide concentrations. The relative growth
(RG) of isolates was correlated at all tested concentrations with the respective EC50 values, indicating that RG provides a reliable estimate for the sensitivity of the isolates. The highest correlation coefficients
were obtained for concentrations of 1 μg ml−1 flutriafol and of 0.05 μg ml−1 difenoconazole, respectively. Consequently, they are proposed for monitoring of DMI sensitivity inC. beticola populations, as single discriminatory concentrations in a simplified test method. Based on the RG values at the discriminatory
concentration of 1 μg ml−1 flutriafol,C. beticola isolates were classified as either resistant or sensitive. The efficacy of flutriafol, applied at the commercially recommended
dose, in controlling Cercospora leaf spot was examined in field experiments conducted during 1999 and 2000. Disease incidence
in plots artificially inoculated with resistant isolates and treated with flutriafol was significantly higher than in similar
plots inoculated with sensitive strains. These results suggest that poor disease control after application of flutriafol may
be based on the presence of resistant strains within the pathogen population in northern Greece. This emphasizes the risk
of the development of practical resistance if there is increased frequency of such strains within the population.

The feeder roots of pepper plants (cv. California Wonder) in Campo de Cartagena (southeast Spain) were found to be severely
infected by Meloidogyne incognita. Morphometric traits, differential host test and DNA analysis based on PCR were used to characterize the nematode. Naturally
and artificially infected pepper plants showed severe yellowing and stunting, with heavily deformed and damaged root systems.
Root galls were spherical and commonly contained more than one female and egg masses with eggs. Typical giant cells with a
granular cytoplasm and many hypertrophied nuclei were observed in histological preparations. The relationship between initial
nematode population density (Pi) and pepper plant growth was tested in greenhouse experiments with inoculum levels that varied from 0 to 64 eggs and second-stage
juveniles (J2) ml−1 soil. A Seinhorst model was fitted to plant height and top fresh weight data of inoculated and non-inoculated plants. The
tolerance limit with respect to plant height and fresh top weight of pepper to M. incognita was estimated as 0.85 eggs and J2 ml−1 soil. The minimum relative values (m) for plant height and top fresh weight were 0.15 and 0.16, respectively, at Pi ≥ 64 eggs and J2 ml−1 soil. The maximum nematode reproduction rate (Pf/Pi) was 315.4 at an initial population density (Pi) of 4 eggs and J2 ml−1 soil. The obtained results could be used as a base to establish field experiments that allow strategies to prevent surpassing
the threshold of nematodes in fields that are infested. 相似文献

The greater wax moth Galleria mellonella L. (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) is occasionally found in beehives and is a major pest of stored wax. Entomopathogenic fungi have
recently received attention as possible biocontrol elements for certain insect pests. In this study, 90 isolates of Beauveria bassiana and 15 isolates of Metarhizium anisopliae were screened for proteases and lipases production. The results showed significant variations in the enzymatic action between
the isolates. In the bioassay, the selected isolates evinced high virulence against the 4th instar of the G. mellonella larvae. The isolates BbaAUMC3076, BbaAUMC3263 and ManAUMC3085 realized 100% mortality at concentrations of 5.5 × 106 conidia ml−1, 5.86 × 105 conidia ml−1, and 4.8 × 106 conidia ml−1, respectively. Strong enzymatic activities in vitro did not necessarily indicate high virulence against the tested insect pest. The cuticle of the infected larvae became dark
and black-spotted, indicating direct attack of fungus on the defense system of the insects. The LC50 values were 1.43 × 103, 1.04 × 105 and 5.06 × 104 for Bba3263AUMC, Bba3076AUMC and Man3085AUMC, respectively, and their slopes were determined by computerized probit analysis
program as 0.738 ± 0.008, 0.635 ± 0.007 and 1.120 ± 0.024, respectively. 相似文献

Sensitivity of field isolates (121) ofBotrytis cinerea from France (1992), Germany (1979–1992), Israel (1990) and the Netherlands (1970–1989) to the triazoles tebuconazole and triadimenol, the benzimidazole benomyl and the dicarboximide vinclozolin were tested in radial growth experiments. Resistance to benomyl (in 21 to 100% of isolates tested) and vinclozolin (in 25 to 71% of isolates tested) was common in most countries. EC50s (concentrations of fungicides inhibiting radial mycelial growth ofB. cinerea on B5-agar by 50%) for tebuconazole and triadimenol ranged between 0.01–1.64 and 0.4–32.6g ml–1, respectively, and were log-normally distributed. The variation factor (ratio between EC50s of the least and most sensitive isolate tested) amounts 164 and 82 for tebuconazole and triadimenol, respectively. These values are comparable to those for azole fungicides applied in control of other pathogens. Hence, variation in sensitivity to triazoles can probably not explain limited field performance of triazoles towardsB. cinerea. Isolates from south west Germany (1992) were significantly less sensitive to tebuconazole than isolates collected earlier in Germany, Israel and the Netherlands. Such less sensitive populations may contribute to the limited field performance of DMI fungicides towardsB. cinerea. The sensitivity of isolates from south west Germany to tebuconazole was similar to that of DMI-resistant mutants generated in the laboratory. These mutants displayed stable resistance with Q-values (ratio between EC50 of resistant mutant and wild type isolate) between 5 and 20. Sensitivity of field isolates and laboratory mutants to tebuconazole and triadimenol was correlated. 相似文献

The effect of indole-acetic acid (IAA) on the development of symptoms caused by Pythium ultimum on tomato plants was investigated using different bioassays. Application of IAA (5 μg ml−1) on tomato seedlings inoculated with P. ultimum did not affect their emergence suggesting that IAA did not affect the severity of Pythium damping-off. However, IAA was shown
to influence the development of P. ultimum symptoms on tomato plantlets. Low concentrations of IAA (0–0.1 μg ml−1) within the rhizosphere of plantlets increased the severity of the symptoms caused by P. ultimum, while higher concentrations (10 μg ml−1), applied either by drenching to the growing medium or by spraying on the shoot, reduced the symptoms caused by this pathogen.
In addition, the study demonstrated that P. ultimum produces IAA in liquid culture amended with L-tryptophan, tryptamine or tryptophol (200 μg ml−1) and in unamended culture. 相似文献

No cross-resistance was observed between pyrimethanil or cyprodinil and the fungicides benomyl, iprodione or carbendazim + diethofencarb. In vitro, both anilinopyrimidine fungicides were effective against strains of Botrytis cinerea resistant to benzimidazoles and/or dicarboximides and against a wild type strain insensitive to diethofencarb (EC50 values ranged between 0.03–0.19 and 0.006–0.054gml–1 for pyrimethanil and cyprodinil, respectively). Preventive applications of anilinopyrimidines completely protected young cucumber plants and fruits that were inoculated with all strains of B. cinerea. The effectiveness of pyrimethanil against grey mould was studied in greenhouse grown tomatoes in relation to (a) the type of infection and the progress of the disease on different plant parts and (b) the response of the naturally occurring B. cinerea population to the selection pressure caused by eight successive applications of this fungicide. Pyrimethanil effectively controlled grey mould on leaves, fruits and stems but did not significantly reduce the number of dead plants and fruits with 'ghost spot' symptoms. The selection pressure caused by the consecutive applications of pyrimethanil resulted in reduction of its effectiveness on leaves that became apparent after the sixth application. This was correlated with a shift of the B. cinerea population (not previously exposed to anilinopyrimidines) towards reduced sensitivity, probably due to the development of a low level of resistance (R
L = 7.7). Pyrimethanil delayed the onset of the disease but it did not reduce the infection rate. 相似文献
