Background

Anopheles gambiae Giles is the most important vector of human malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. Knowledge of the factors that influence its daily oviposition pattern is crucial if field interventions targeting gravid females are to be successful. This laboratory study investigated the effect of oviposition substrate and time of blood feeding on daily oviposition patterns of An. gambiae mosquitoes.  相似文献

To compare the performance of Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) and native Frankliniella intonsa (Trybom) on cucumber and tomato leaves in laboratory, life history characters were investigated, and life tables were constructed using the method of age-stage, two-sex table life. Compared with tomato leaf, there were shorter total preoviposition period (TPOP), higher fecundity, longer female longevity, and higher intrinsic rate of increase (r) of both F. occidentalis and F. intonsa on cucumber leaf. Meanwhile, on cucumber leaf, the shorter TPOP, higher fecundity, longer female longevity, and higher value of r were found on population of F. intonsa but on tomato leaf which were found on population of F. occidentalis. From above, cucumber leaf was the preference to population development of both F. occidentalis and F. intonsa compared with tomato leaf. Nevertheless, on cucumber leaf, population of F. intonsa would grow faster than that of F. occidentalis, which was the opposite on tomato leaf. As to the population development in fields, much more factors would be taken into account, such as pollen, insecticide resistance, and effects of natural enemies etc.  相似文献

Profenofos, an acetylcholine esterase inhibitor insecticide, has been used for the management of various lepidopteron pests of many crops in Pakistan. In the present study, we investigated the impact of insecticide resistance on fitness cost in Spodoptera litura, and evaluated cross resistance to other insecticides. The effect of profenofos on different life history parameters including survival rate, female ratio, fecundity and hatchability, intrinsic rate of population increase and biotic potential was determined. Significant differences associated with fitness costs were revealed. A field collected S. litura strain was selected by exposure to profenofos in the laboratory (Profen-SEL) and after 14 generations of selection it developed a 52-fold resistance to this insecticide. The Profen-SEL strain showed high cross-resistance to chlorpyrifos (62-fold), but very low to no cross resistance to lambda-cyhalothrin (2.34-fold) or methomyl (0.80-fold), respectively. The resistant strain had a relative fitness of 0.38 with a low larval survival rate, longer larval duration, longer male pupal duration, longer development time, low emergence rate of healthy adults, fecundity and hatchability compared with an unselected strain. The intrinsic rate of natural population increase, mean relative growth rate and biotic potential were lower for the selected strain compared with an unselected strain. Development of resistance may cause fitness costs for the resistant strain. This study provided important information for understanding profenofos resistance and facilitating a better strategy for the management of resistance.  相似文献

The brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) is a classical resurgent rice pest induced by insecticides. The past focus on resurgence mechanisms has been on the stimulation of the reproduction of adult females induced by insecticides. To date, the role that males play as a resurgence of N. lugens has not been investigated. The present study examined changes in protein levels in both male accessory glands and female ovaries induced by the insecticides triazophos and deltamethrin as well as the stimulating effect of treated males on the fecundity of adult females via mating following foliar sprays of the insecticides. For adults that had been exposed as nymphs to treated rice plants, the protein content in both the male accessory glands and in the female ovaries of N. lugens were significantly affected by male mating status, insecticide and insecticide concentration. There was a higher protein content in male accessory glands when males were exposed to triazophos as third instars compared to fifth instars, and there was a higher protein content before mating compared to after mating. In addition, the protein levels in male accessory glands after mating for individuals exposed to high doses of the two insecticides as 3rd and 5th instars were significantly lower than untreated control except for exposed to triazophos as 3rd instar, indicating that treated males transferred more male accessory gland protein to adult females via mating. The protein content was also affected by different combinations of treated mating pairs. Adult males (♂t) developed from third instar nymphs treated with triazophos stimulated the fecundity of the female significantly via mating (♂t × ♀ck) with untreated females (♀ck) (control females), increasing the reproductive rate by 43.5% as compared to the mating (♂ck × ♀ck) of untreated males and females. Also, the fecundity of the females after the mating (♂t × ♀t) of treated males and females was significantly higher than that after the mating (♂ck × ♀t) of untreated males with treated females. These findings indicated that the reproductive effects of insecticide on males can be transferred to females via mating. The present findings provide valuable information for understanding the potential role that males play in the pesticide-induced resurgence of N. lugens.  相似文献

Continuous monitoring of vector species composition, abundance, dynamics, feeding pattern, and host finding strategy is the base to determine when, what, and how control should be implemented. Thus, this study was conducted to assess entomological parameters of anopheline mosquitoes in nine villages in Seka district, southwestern Ethiopia, from June to December 2012. Mosquito collection was carried out from selected households in each of the nine study villages using light trap catches from June to December 2012. Differences in mean mosquito density, parity rates before, and after indoor residual spraying (IRS) operation were compared. In total, 1,136 adult female anopheline mosquitoes were collected during the study period. All anopheline mosquitoes collected belong to three species. Anopheles gambiae senso lato Giles was the most predominant (69.7%) followed by Anopheles coustani s.l. Laveran (22.7%) and Anopheles pharoensis Theobald (7.6%). There was significant variation in mean mosquito density among An. gambiae s.l., An. coustani s.l., and An. pharoensis. Parity rate of An. gambiae s.l. before spray operation was significantly higher than after spray operation. The highest peak biting activity of An. gambiae s.l. was between 1800 and 2100 hours. The longevity of An. gambiae s.l. ranged from 3.4 to 12.5 d. The highest vector abundance and parity rate were recorded in July and August. In conclusion, the behavioral plasticity and early biting activity of An. gambiae s.l. could affect current vector control tools (IRS and long lasting insecticidal nets). Hence, it is imperative to explore intervention tools for outdoor malaria vector control in addition to the existing IRS and long-lasting insecticidal nets.  相似文献

Pemphigus bursarius L. is a serious pest of the witloof chicory (Cichorium intybus L. var. foliosum) during its growing phase in the field. Trials investigating many ways of improving control of this aphid were carried out, including improved knowledge of the pest's life cycle and of beneficial insects, tests of biological and chemical insecticides, impact of plants' growing conditions in the field (water stress) and research for resistance in different chicory families. The work showed that the winged flights of P. bursarius should be monitored in Northern France according to the temperature-based model established at Horticulture Research International, Wellesbourne (now Warwick Crop Center). An insecticide spray with spirotetramat during the fundatrigeniae migration strongly reduced the wingless colonies in summer. Beneficial insects also contributed to limiting the populations of P. bursarius, particularly several species of a genus of a fly (Thaumatomyia spp.) whose larvae are able to predate on about 100 wingless aphids on the root chicory. The use of an insecticide has been authorized based partly on efficacy results obtained in these reported trials. Italian chicories were more resistant than witloof chicories (“Belgian endive”) and could be used in breeding programs. Data on the life cycle of some species of the genus Thaumatomyia have been recorded and will be useful for biological management programs in the future.  相似文献

Test kits were developed to enable growers to assess insecticide resistance in Colorado potato beetle populations. Kits included tests for resistance to: carbofuran (Furadan® 4F), phosmet (Imidan® 50WP), esfenvalerate (Asana® 1.9EC), and a combination of esfenvalerate & piperonyl butoxide (Butacide® 8EC). Tests were petri dishes containing filter paper treated with a discriminating concentration of insecticide (i.e., kills susceptible beetles but not resistant beetles). Discriminating concentrations were determined by testing susceptible and resistant strains of beetle across a range of insecticide concentration. About 200 test kits were distributed during the summer of 1988. Results received indicate: 1) Michigan beetle populations were either susceptible or highly resistant to carbofuran, 2) phosmet resistance was more widespread than previously thought, 3) many populations showed moderate to high levels of resistance to esfenvalerate, and 4) adding piperonyl butoxide reduced resistance to esfenvalerate, in many, but not all populations. Resistance kits help growers determine if insecticide resistance is present in beetle populations (either prior to or after an insecticide application), and also generate data useful to research and extension personnel in documenting the extent and distribution of resistance.  相似文献

The Cry1F protein from Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner expressed in event TC1507 maize (Zea mays L.) was one of the most effective ways to control Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith) in Brazil. After reports of reduced effectiveness of this Bt maize event in some areas of Brazil, research was undertaken to investigate if damage to Cry1F maize was caused by resistant S. frugiperda. Additional investigations were conducted to evaluate the genetic basis of the resistance and to test if Cry1F resistant S. frugiperda selected from populations of different regions of Brazil share the same resistance locus by using complementation tests. Neonate larvae of S. frugiperda collected from TC1507 maize fields with damage in Western Bahia region in 2011 were able to survive on Cry1F maize plants under laboratory conditions and subsequently produced normal adults. Survival of Cry1F-susceptible S. frugiperda on non-Bt maize was significantly higher in leaf than plant bioassays. Resistance ratio in diet overlay bioassays was >5000-fold. A discriminating concentration of 2000 ng cm−2 of Cry1F protein was defined for monitoring the frequency of resistance of S. frugiperda to Cry1F. Cry1F resistant S. frugiperda showed a recessive autosomal inheritance for alleles involved in resistance to Cry1F protein. In complementation tests, the resistant population from Western Bahia was crossed with the other seven resistant populations collected from different States of Brazil. F1 larvae from each cross had the same survival at discriminating concentration of 2000 ng cm−2 of Cry1F protein, indicating that the resistance alleles in each population were likely at the same locus. Therefore, implementation of resistance management strategies is urgent to prolong the lifetime of Cry1F for controlling S. frugiperda in Brazil.  相似文献

The influences of the insecticides quinalphos, chlorpyriphos, methyl parathion, endosulfan, imidacloprid and deltamethrin applied three times at 10 days intervals at half of their recommended field concentrations to potted plants of a planthopper-susceptible and a planthopper-resistant rice variety, on reproduction and survival of whitebacked planthopper, Sogatella furcifera (Horvath), and on the chemistry of its host plant, were investigated. Methyl parathion, deltamethrin and quinalphos enhanced the fecundity of the hopper (164-211 vs. 131 for the control) and consequently the resurgence ratio (increased up to 1.75 fold). Methyl parathion and deltamethrin significantly increased nymphal survival (59.3 vs. 52.2% for the control) and the growth index (4.8 vs. 4.2 for the control) of the hopper. The sex ratios of adults emerging on methyl parathion- and deltamethrin-treated rice plants increased in favour of females (1.51 vs. 1.15 for the control) on the susceptible variety but was not altered on the resistant variety. Biochemical analyses of the rice leaves revealed significantly higher quantities of reducing sugars, proteins and amino acids, but lower amounts of total phenols in leaf sheaths and blades of methyl parathion-, deltamethrin- and quinalphos-treated plants of the two varieties. The leaf sheaths and blades of the resistant variety contained more than twice the total phenols present in those of the susceptible variety. The results showed a positive correlation between increased levels of reducing sugars, amino acids and proteins in the rice plants and the fecundity of S. furcifera and a negative correlation between phenol contents of the rice plants and fecundity.  相似文献

The fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith), is a major target of transgenic corn, Zea mays L., expressing Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) proteins in both North and South America. A highly Cry1F-resistant strain of S. frugiperda was established from a field collection in Puerto Rico in 2011. In this study, three greenhouse trials were conducted to evaluate larval survival and leaf injury of Cry1F-susceptible, -resistant, and -heterozygous genotypes of S. frugiperda on whole plants of five non-Bt and eight Bt corn hybrids. The Bt corn products included two single-gene Bt corn hybrids containing Herculex®I (Cry1F) and YieldGard® (Cry1Ab) traits and six pyramided Bt corn hybrids representing four traits: Genuity® VT Double Pro™, Genuity®VT Triple Pro™, Genuity® SmartStax™, and Agrisure® Viptera™ 3111. In each trial, neonates of S. frugiperda were placed into the plant whorls at vegetative plant stages (V6–V10). Larvae of the three insect genotypes on non-Bt corn hybrids survived well and caused serious plant injury. Cry1Ab corn was ineffective against all three insect genotypes. On Cry1F corn plants, resistant larvae survived on 72.9% plants after 12–15 d and caused a leaf injury rating (Davis' 1 to 9 scales) of 5.7 after 7 d and 7.6 after 12–15 d. Both the larval survivorship and leaf injury rates of the resistant larvae on Cry1F corn plants were not significantly different from those observed on non-Bt corn hybrids. In contrast, no live larvae and little or no leaf injury were observed on the Cry1F corn plants that were infested with susceptible or heterozygous genotypes, or on the pyramided Bt plants. The results demonstrated that the Cry1F-resistant S. frugiperda was highly resistant to whole plants of Cry1F corn and the resistance was recessive. Hybrids that contained one of the four pyramided Bt traits were effective for managing the Cry1F resistance in S. frugiperda.  相似文献

One of the most important global problems is protecting food from insect pests. The negative effects of synthetic insecticides on human health led to a resurgence of interest in botanical insecticides due to their minimal ecological side effects. Therefore, the insecticidal potential of hexane, acetone, and methanol extracts of Gnidia kraussiana Meisn roots at 1 and 5g/kg, and neem seed oil (NSO), used as standard insecticide, were evaluated. Ovicidal and larvicidal toxicity was tested by treating freshly laid eggs and larvae at different immature stages of Callosobruchus maculatus (F.). Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) (L.) Walp seed damage and weight loss were assessed after a storage period of 4 mo. Repellency effects were detected in choice test using a linear olfactometer. All the fractions were toxic to C. maculatus; however, their bioactivities were inversely correlated with products polarity. Extracts proved to be more toxic than the commercial NSO. The acetone extract was more effective against immature stages of C. maculatus than the methanol extract; eggs, first-, and second-instar larvae being the more susceptible. No cowpea seed damage and weight loss were recorded from the seeds treated with hexane and acetone extracts at the dosage of 5 g/kg, after 4 mo of storage. Extracts evoked stronger repellency effects compared with the tested standard insecticide. According to the above, hexane and acetone extracts are good candidates for incorporation in integrated pest management programs for the control of C. maculatus in stored cowpea seeds.  相似文献

A method to evaluate rice cultivars for resistance to Stenchaetothrips biformis (Bagnall) in the greenhouse was developed. Eleven traditional cultivars of Oryza sativa and 12 wild rices were selected for resistance. Studies on the mechanisms of resistance indicated that resistant cultivars were non-preferred for feeding and oviposition. Larval survival was lower and adult life shorter on resistant compared with susceptible cultivars. Resistant cultivars had an adverse effect on fecundity and oviposition rate which resulted in a low population growth. Plant injury on susceptible cultivars reduced plant weight and height.  相似文献

The rice leaffolder, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis Guenée (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), is a leaf-feeding pest and the physical and chemical nature of the rice leaf affects its feeding, survival and fecundity. We examined changes in the survival rates of larvae and pupae, pupal weight and the number of eggs laid by adult females developed from a resistant variety (Huaidao 9) and a susceptible variety (Yangjing 9538) in hydroponic solutions containing different concentrations of magnesium (Mg). The concentration of Mg in the hydroponic solution significantly affected the survival rates of the larvae and pupae, the pupal weights and the numbers of eggs laid. Larval survival rates on the resistant variety were significantly higher for fourth instars exposed to 60 and 80 ppm Mg and pupae exposed to 20, 40, 60 and 80 ppm Mg than those for the control treatment (without Mg). For the susceptible variety, survival rates of first, second and third instars were significantly higher at high concentrations of Mg than those under control conditions. In addition, the number of eggs laid by adult females increased with increasing Mg concentrations, though there was a slight decrease at 80 ppm compared to 60 ppm. These results indicate that Mg is beneficial to the development, survival and fecundity of C. medinalis. They further suggest that high levels of nitrogen fertilizer in rice fields favour outbreaks of this pest because application of nitrogen elevates the chlorophyll content and Mg levels in the rice leaf.  相似文献

The tobacco whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius), is an important pest because of its potential to threaten agricultural crops worldwide. Currently, this pest is controlled by the application of chemical insecticides. In our pursuit to identify better insecticides for an effective control of this insect pest, we investigated the lethal effects of five neonicotinoid insecticides including four commercial neonicotinoids and a novel neonicotinoid (cycloxaprid) on B. tabaci MED and MEAM1 cryptic species. In addition, we assessed the sublethal effects of cycloxaprid on B. tabaci MED. Lethal effects of the insecticides were determined using the leaf-dip bioassay, and the results showed that among the tested insecticides cycloxaprid was more toxic to B. tabaci MED and MEAM1 than others, with LC50 values of 0.70 mg/L and 0.59 mg/L, respectively. Cycloxaprid at LC25 (0.16 mg/L) induced sublethal effects in adult MED by prolonging the developmental periods and decreasing the survival rates of all larval instars, pseudopupal and adult stages. Moreover, it significantly shortened the oviposition period of females and decreased their fecundity. Hatching rate of eggs laid by females exposed to LC25 was also markedly reduced. These results indicate that cycloxaprid is a novel alternate insecticide that may effectively control B. tabaci populations.  相似文献

Research to evaluate effective and selective insecticides through periodic screening is needed to strengthen diamondback moth (DBM) (Plutella xylostella L.) management. The efficacy of the insect growth regulator novaluron on DBM and effects on the parasitoids Diadegma sp. (Hym.: Ichneumonidae), Apanteles sp. (Hym.: Braconidae) and Oomyzus sokolowskii Kurdjumov (Hym.: Eulophidae) were evaluated. Novaluron was compared with the microbial insecticide Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) var. aizawai, the pyrethroid insecticide λ- cyhalothrin and the organophosphate insecticide profenofos. Two replicated experiments were conducted on head cabbage, Brassica oleracea var. capitata, planted in March and May 2007 at Wonji in the Central Rift Valley of Ethiopia. Infestation by DBM was less with novaluron and Bt compared with other treatments for both planting dates. Infestation with λ-cyhalothrin and profenofos was comparable with the untreated control. Yields were greatest with novaluron and were 80 and 32.5% (12.4 and 7.4 t ha−1) greater than the untreated treatment for the first and second plantings, respectively. Diadegma sp. accounted for 91% of the parasitoid complex observed. Parasitism of DBM by Diadegma sp. ranged between 10 and 43% among treatments. Parasitism was less with λ-cyhalothrin and profenofos compared with other treatments. Owing to its efficacy against DBM and relative safety to its parasitoid, Diadegma sp., novaluron can be used in integrated DBM management for low elevation brassica production in the Central Rift Valley of Ethiopia.  相似文献

The effects of cycloxaprid (a modified neonicotinoid insecticide) and buprofezin (a thiadiazine insecticide) on mortality of the white-backed planthopper (WBPH), Sogatella furcifera, were determined in laboratory assays. Cycloxaprid killed WBPH nymphs and adults but buprofezin killed only nymphs, and cycloxaprid acted faster than buprofezin. One day after infestation, mortality of third-instar nymphs was >65% with cycloxaprid at 125 mg liter−1 but was <38% with buprofezin at 148 mg liter−1. By the 4th day after infestation, however, control of nymphs by the two insecticides was similar, and cycloxaprid at 125 mg liter−1 caused ≥80% mortality of adults but buprofezin at 148 mg liter−1 (the highest rate tested) caused almost no adult mortality. LC50 values for cycloxaprid were lowest with nymphs, intermediate with adult males, and highest with adult females. Although buprofezin was slower acting than cycloxaprid, its LC50 for nymphs 5 d after infestation was 3.79-fold lower than that of cycloxaprid. Mean carboxylesterase (CarE) specific activity of nymphal WBPH treated with cycloxaprid and buprofezin was higher than that of control, but there was no significant difference between cycloxaprid and control (no insecticide), and it was significantly higher for buprofezin than those of cycloxaprid and control. For glutathione S-transferase and mixed function oxygenase, the specific activity of nymphal WBPH treated with buprofezin was significantly higher than those of cycloxaprid and control, too.  相似文献

We estimated the effect of 5, 10, 15 and 20 mg l−1 of neemazal (1% EC azadirachtin) on life table parameters of Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) developing on chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.). The effects were assessed on the survivals emerged from 6th instar larvae that had ingested neemazal-treated chickpea pods. Survivorship (I) and expectancy of life (ex) were highest with the commencement of age (egg) and decreased gradually with the advancement of age with all the concentrations of neemazal including unexposed cohort. All the eggs hatched in the unexposed group while highest numbers of unhatched eggs (10%) were recorded with 20 mg l−1. Mortality of 1st instars was higher at 20 and 15 mg l−1 than that of other concentration tested. Potential fecundity (pf) was reduced in concentration dependent manner and was lowest with 20 mg l−1 (418 eggs/female/generation) and highest in control (898 eggs/female/generation). Net reproductive rate (R0) was significantly reduced with the increase in concentration of neemazal. The intrinsic (rm) and finite rate of increase (λ) were significantly decreased at 20 mg l−1 than that of unexposed population. The mean generation time (Tc) was prolonged at 20 mg l−1 and significantly differed with non-treated individuals. Development of immature stages was prolonged to 38 days with 20 mg l−1 while reduced to 32 days with 15 mg l−1 of neemazal as compared to 37 days in untreated individuals. Doubling time (DT) was significantly extended to 5.02 days with 20 mg l−1 as compared to 3.84 days in the non exposed ones.  相似文献

The effect of temperature on life cycle of the solenopsis mealybug, Phenacoccus solenopsis Tinsley, on cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) was assessed under laboratory conditions at ten constant temperatures (18–40 °C). The development duration of female and male nymphal instars linearly decreased with the increase in temperature from 18 to 32 °C. Cumulative developmental time of females ranged from 43.9 d (18 °C) to 15.0 d (32 °C). Survival of crawlers to adulthood was lowest (<53%) at 20 and 36 °C and highest (80%) at 32 °C. The solenopsis mealybug exhibited obligate sexual ovoviviparous reproduction and the pre-oviposition period in mated females showed a significant decreasing trend between 20 °C (23.0 d) and 30 °C (9.5 d). The oviposition period of 10.2–11.5 d at ≥25 °C was nearly half the duration than at 20 °C and the highest fecundity (245 eggs + crawlers) was observed at 30 °C. Longevity of mated females was significantly prolonged at 20 °C (46.0 d) compared to 30 °C (21.4 d). Proportion of females was highest (97.5%) at 25 °C. Males required higher degree-days (363.6) for their cumulative development compared to females (317.5). Lower temperature thresholds estimated from the linear model for cumulative female and male development were 11.7 and 10.1 °C, respectively. The estimated optimum temperature thresholds for nymphal instars (32–33.4 °C) from β type distribution function were closer to the observed maximum developmental rate compared to Lactin-2 model. The population trend index using survival, fecundity, and sex ratio of P. solenopsis with an initial population of 100 crawlers in the Morris-Watt life table model indicated a potential population increase of 170.3 and 97.6 times at 30 and 35 °C, respectively, in the next generation. The usefulness of the information on the temperature-dependent life cycle of P. solenopsis in understanding its field abundance and distribution on cotton and implications for management is discussed.  相似文献

The anthranilic diamide insecticide cyantraniliprole was previously shown to reduce transmission of Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) to pepper, Capsicum annuum, by Frankliniella fusca but not Frankliniella occidentalis. This study examines the effects of cyantraniliprole and imidacloprid on thrips feeding using electrical penetration graphing (EPG), and on TSWV transmission in field cage studies. Some antifeedant responses were observed in the EPG studies when thrips fed on cyantraniliprole- and imidacloprid-treated plants; however, these responses were variable between species and among the 2, 6, and 10 day post-treatment time intervals during which feeding behavior was observed. Cyantraniliprole significantly reduced the probability of TSWV infection when spread by F. fusca in field-grown pepper when viruliferous thrips were released 7 days but not when released at 14 days after the insecticide treatment in one of 2 field trials. In the second trial cyantraniliprole significantly reduced the probability of infection when F. fusca were released 14 days but not 7 days after treatment. In both years, imidacloprid prevented or significantly reduced transmission of TSWV by F. fusca in field-grown pepper when viruliferous thrips were released 7 days and 14 after treatment. In one of two years, cyantraniliprole significantly reduced the incidence of TSWV in field-grown pepper that was spread by F. occidentalis when viruliferous thrips were released 7 days after the insecticide treatment, but not 14 days after the treatment. Imidacloprid did not reduce the incidence of TSWV in field-grown pepper when viruliferous F. occidentalis were released. Although these studies demonstrate that probing behavior of these thrips species is altered on cyantraniliprole-treated pepper plants, results of field cage studies did not consistently show a reduction in incidence of TSWV-infected plants.  相似文献

Resistance levels in five field strains of Bemisia tabaci Q-biotype in eastern China to six representative insecticides were determined, and the frequencies of synaptic acetylcholinesterase ace1 mutation (F331W) and para-type voltage gated sodium channel mutations (L925I and T929V) were detected using polymerase chain reaction-based monitoring techniques. Compared with the reference strain, the field strains exhibited low to high resistance to two neonicotinoids (RF 8.68-75 for imidacloprid and 7.48-46.40 for nitenpyram). Low resistance to dichlorvos (RF 1.37-2.83) and cypermethrin (RF 2.61-8.69) were observed in these strains. All strains were susceptible to abamectin and carbosulfan. The F331W mutation in ace1 gene was fixed in all field strains, the frequencies of the L925I mutation and T929V mutation in sodium channel gene were in the range of 39.6-70% and 63-86.7%, respectively. Information on insecticide resistance status and resistance allele frequency reported in this study provided baseline data for management of insecticide resistance of Q-biotype B. tabaci in eastern China.  相似文献
