Twenty-four provenances of two species (Azadirachta siamensis and Azadirachta indica) have been introduced to China from South Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa Since 1995. This paper summarizes the researches on the introduction and planting of Azadirachta indica and analyzes the morphological, phenological characteristics, the growth rhythm, pollinating and seed yielding features of the intro- duced 24 provenances of the two species as well as the variations of filial generation plants. The experiments showed that most of the prove- nances of,4. indica have normal growth and can blossom and fruit in the dry-hot valleys with tropical climate conditions in Yunnan Province, China. The normal regions for A. indica were classified and the selection criteria for superior plants were put forward in this paper, more- over, the major contents of industry planning and technical approaches for A. indica plantation establishment were discussed and the countermeasures to reduce the neem-based pesticide products were also proposed.  相似文献

[目的]结合分子数据确定印楝属内3个种及云南省引种栽培过程中发现的变异类型,特别是变异类型的遗传背景及它们之间的遗传关系.[方法]采用方差分析、聚类、主成分分析等方法,对云南省引种栽培的印楝、泰楝、菲楝以及引种栽培过程中发现的一个变异类型的20个表型性状进行分析.[结果]印楝属植物的形态学特征存在广泛变异,其中,小叶面积变异幅度最大,变异范围为6.09~21.50 cm2,变异系数为51.70%,其次为种子宽与小叶对数,二者变异幅度分别为0.47~0.95 cm和7.00~12.33,变异系数分别为30.34%和30.31%;主成分分析显示,印楝属植物的形态变异主要来源于小叶基部偏斜程度、小叶叶形、果实长、小叶面积、复叶长度、小叶对数.对印楝属植物和外类群近缘属植物川楝进行UPGMA聚类分析,结果表明:印楝属植物可以归为2个大类群,第一类群包括印楝、泰楝、变异类型,第二类群只包含菲楝;第一类群又可分为2个小分支,印楝和变异类型聚为1个小分支,而泰楝单独聚为1个小分支.[结论]印楝属植物叶表型性状存在广泛变异,变异类型与印楝遗传相似度最大,但是否为印楝的变种或印楝和泰楝的杂交个体有待进一步确定.  相似文献

Lignin biodegradation potential of Schizophyllum commune Fr. is studied by using sound wood blocks of Ailanthus excelsa, Azadirachta indica, Tectona grandis, Eucalyptus sp. and Leucaena leucocephala. Initially, in vitro wood decay test showed minor weight loss, but it became rapid after one month. After 120 days of incubation, weight loss was minimum in T. grandis (24.05%) whereas it was maximum in A. excelsa (34.44%). Treated test blocks were characterised by enlargement of pits on ray cell wall, formation of additional boreholes in rays, separation of fibres and cell wall thinning and formation of ‘U’-shape notches. Fungal hyphae moved through the xylem cell lumen, and intercellular spaces formed in response to separation of fibres. Hyphae traverse in adjacent cell through the cell wall pits or by making additional boreholes. In all the species studied, xylem fibres and parenchyma (axial and ray) cells were more susceptible while vessels were resistant to fungal attack. In advanced stage of decay, fibres and axial parenchyma lost their rigidity while vessel walls showed uneven thinning. In the tension wood, G-fibres remained unaffected initially but loosening and separation of gelatinous layer facilitated fungal action and showed similar pattern of cell wall deterioration. Among the wood of different species studied, Tectona was more resistant whereas Ailanthus was more susceptible to fungal attack.  相似文献

Aphidicidal activity of hot and cold water extracts of some indigenous plants, Azadirachta indica A. Juss (neem), Calotropis procera (Aiton) W.T. Aiton (akanda), Polygonum hydropiper L. (biskatali) and Ipomoea sepiaria J. Koenig ex Roxb. (bankalmi), were tested against the bean aphid, Aphis craccivora Koch. Hot water extract of P. hydropiper and A. indica was found to be the most effective (87.6–94.5 and 80.47–89.6% mortality respectively, P < 0.01) among all the extracts. Other hot and cold water extracts also appeared to be useful (59.5–87.5% mortality) as pesticides for A. craccivora. The highest yield (3.25 kg per plant) was obtained using hot water extract of P. hydropiper followed by hot water extract of A. indica (3.15 kg per plant). The lowest yield (0.32 kg per plant) was recorded from the control block. All the phytoproduct treatments had significantly (P < 0.01) better yield than the control block.  相似文献

The objective of our study was to test the comparative efficiency of neem (Azadirachta indica) kernel oil, groundnut oil and a synthetic insecticide, K-Othrine®, in protecting stocks of leguminous tree seeds against seed beetles under Sahelian conditions. The following insect/seed combinations were used as models: Caryedon acaciae/Acacia nilotica, C. longispinosus/A. raddiana and C. serratus/Tamarindus indica. Neem oil, when used at concentrations of 5 to 20 ml per kg of seeds, had pronounced adulticidal and ovicidal effects which were maintained for five months. No significant fall in seed viability was observed except in the case of C. acaciae/A. nilotica. Groundnut oil, when used at concentrations of 5 to 20 ml per kg of seeds, had pronounced adulticidal and ovicidal effects which were relatively short-lived. A significant fall in seed viability was observed over five months. K-Othrine®, when used at concentrations ranging from 25 to 100 mg per kg, had high adulticidal effects which were maintained for five months. However, K-Othrine® was found to have no ovicide properties. No significant fall in seed viability was observed. This study concluded that it is possible to use neem oil, a product that can be obtained locally at low cost, to efficiently protect tree seed stocks in the Sahel.This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A study was conducted in the semi-arid regions of Haryana, in Northern India, to see the effect of Azadirachta indica, Prosopis cineraria, Dalbergia sissoo and Acacia nilotica on the yield of irrigated wheat crop. Data on crop yield for each tree species at different distances (1, 3, 5 and 7 m) and four directions (east, west, north and south) from the tree bases and control (no trees) were collected. Results indicate that A. indica and P. cineraria did not show any significant difference in the wheat yield while the other two species (D. sissoo and A. nilotica) showed a reduction in wheat yield. A. nilotica had the most significant and prominent effect, and a reduction of nearly 40 to 60% wheat yield was observed. The effect of this tree species was observed even beyond the spread of the crown. D. sissoo reduced yield by 4 to 30% but the reduction was only up to a distance of 3 m. In general, the impact of trees on wheat yield was observed up to 3 m distance and there is little, if any, impact up to 5 m distance and almost no impact at 7 m distance. In all the tree species, the wheat yield was reduced to a maximum on the north side of the trees and had almost no effect in the southern direction. Crop maturity was observed to be delayed by three weeks under A. nilotica, by 9–10 days under D. sissoo, and only by 6–7 days under P. cineraria and A. indica.  相似文献

A new triterpenoid, 1α,7α-diacetoxyapotirucall-14-ene-3α,21,22,24,25-pentaol (1), and the two known compounds odoratone (2) and 2β,3β,4β-trihydroxypregnan-16-one (3) were isolated from a methanolic extract of the seed kernels of Azadirachta indica. [目的]本文对芍药种子含油率、脂肪酸成分及含量进行了探讨,为芍药开发成油料植物提供参考。[方法]选取芍药36个栽培品种和1个野生居群为样本,采用索氏提取法提取种子油脂并测定含油率,用气相色谱—质谱联用仪(GC-MS)对提取的籽油成分进行分析。[结果]表明:芍药36个栽培品种和1个野生居群种子平均含油率为20.20%。芍药籽油主要含有豆蔻酸、棕榈酸、棕榈一烯酸、硬脂酸、油酸、亚油酸、亚麻酸和花生酸8种脂肪酸,其中,亚麻酸含量最高,平均达34.14%,其次为油酸和亚油酸,这3种不饱和脂肪酸的含量占全部脂肪酸的93.37%。芍药籽油脂肪酸含量变化相对稳定,各脂肪酸成分的变异系数从大到小依次为亚油酸(13.90%)油酸(13.51%)亚麻酸(10.71%)棕榈酸(0.18%)硬脂酸(0.09%)花生酸(0.002%)、棕榈一烯酸(0.002%)豆蔻酸(0.00%)。[结论]芍药种子含油率高,富含亚麻酸、亚油酸和油酸,且含量相对稳定,变异很小,具有开发为高含量亚麻酸食用油潜力。  相似文献

The effects of Cassia siamea, Albizia lebbek, Acacia auriculiformis, and Azadirachta indica on soil fertility have been studied on five-year-old fallows on Ferric Acrisols in Central Togo. Litter quality and soil fertility under the four species were significantly different. Topsoil pH increases significantly with increasing litter Ca levels. Cassia siamea and Azadirachta indica were superior in enriching the sandy-loamy topsoils with Calcium and in increasing soil pH. Under Acacia, which had the highest biomass production, litter accumulation appeared to be responsible for the low mineral soil Ca and P values. In addition, topsoil pH under Acacia was lower than under grass or bush fallow or the other species. Slow litter mineralization of Acacia auriculiformis was probably caused by the thick, leathery consistence and high tannin content of its litter. Due to its high biomass production supporting soil acidification pure Acacia auriculiformis stands seemed to be less favourable for improving soil fertility on planted fallows but more suited for firewood plantations and topsoil protection. The foliage as well as the litter and topsoil under Albizia showed narrow C/N- and C/P-ratios resulting in easily mineralizable organic matter. All tree species tested were superior to natural grass/herb fallow in building up surface soil fertility. However, differences with natural bush fallow were not significant.
Résumé Au bout de cinq ans des differences fortement significative ont été trouvées quant aux caractères de la litière et de la fertilité des jachères arborées avec Cassia siamea, Albizia lebbek, Acacia auriculiformis et Azadirachta indica, respectivement. ll y a une corrélation positive entre le pH de l'horizon superficiel et la teneur en Ca dans la litière: l'enrichissement du sol sable-limoneux en Ca et le pH sont plus élevés sous Cassia siamea et Azadirachta indica que sous les autres espèces. Acacia se caractérise par la plus grande production en biomasse, donc une accumulation importante de litière sur le sol, ce qui entraîne les plus faibles teneurs en P et Ca dans l'horizon de surface. En plus, il semble qu'elle fait diminuer le pH parce que les valeurs trouvées sont inférieures à celles des parcelles témoin ou des autres espèces. La mineralisation retardée de la litière de Acacia auriculiformis depend probablement de la consistence des feuilles et du content élevé de tannine. Acacia est par consequent moins favorable à des jachères plantées mais plutôt efficace quant à la production du bois de feu et la protection du sol contre l'érosion. Vu les petits rapport C/N et C/P dans les feuilles, la litière et dans l'horizon superficiel d'Albizia, on peut supposer que sa matière organique soit plus facilement décomposable. Toutes les espèces d'arbre étudiées sont plus capables de lever la fertilité des sols que les herbes des parcelles témoin. La comparaison avec une jachère spontanée d'arbustes ne fait pas apparâitre d'effets significatifs.

Biological activity in tree rhizosphere and association of VAM fungi with tree-roots could be used as selection criteria for agroforestry trees in arid ecosystems. Dehydrogenase activity and VAM fungi association in rhizosphere of six agroforestry trees (Azadirachta indica, Acacia tortilis, Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Prosopis cineraria and Tecomella undulata) were studied under irrigated and rainfed conditions in the arid zone of India. Higher dehydrogenase activity (9.5 to 16.8∼p kat g soil−1), root colonization (58.3 to 68.5%) and spore density (132.5 to 234.7 spores 100 g soil−1) were observed in tree rhizosphere as compared to that in non-rhizosphere (7.4, 37.7 and 44.4). Irrigation had increased dehydrogenase activity by 22.1% while it reduced root colonization and spore density by 14.2% and 16.2%, respectively. Trees of A. indica had registered maximum growth while E. camaldulensis the least. Findings suggest that selection of A. nilotica, A. indica, and T. undulata for plantations of agroforestry in arid region would reduce the risk and ensure sustainability of the agroforestry system.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of tree coppicing on tree-crop competition in farmed parkland and in alley farming, both in semiarid Burkina Faso.Azadirachta indica A. Juss (neem) was studied in the parklands, while neem,Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth. (albizia) andLeucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit (leucaena) were investigated in the alley farming system. The crop was sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) in both cases.Under non-coppiced neem trees in the parkland, the sorghum yield at 0–3 m distance from the tree (under the tree canopy) was 82% of open field yields at 6–9 m distance, but the difference was not significant (p=0.07). Close to trees (0–3 m distance) which had been coppiced before planting, the sorghum yield was 148% of open field yields. In alley farming, early coppicing was superior; sorghum yields were highest close to trees coppiced early and lowest close to trees coppiced late.
Résumé La présente étude se propose d'évaluer les effets de la taille sur la concurrence entre arbres et cultures dans les parcs arborés et dans les cultures en couloir, en climat semiaride (Burkina Faso). Les espèces étudiées ont été:Azadirachta indica A. Juss (neem) dans les parcs et neem,Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth. (albizia) ainsi queLeucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit (leucaena) dans les cultures en couloir. Dans les deux cas la plante cultivée concerné a été le sorgho blanc (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench).Sous les neems non taillés des parcs, le rendement du sorgho cultivé de 0 à 3 m de l'arbre (sous le bouppier de l'arbre) a atteint 82% du rendement obtenu en plein champ, soit à une distance de 6 à 9 m de l'arbre (différence non significative,p=0.07). Une taille effectuée en début de campagne a entraîné un accroissement du rendement de 148% pour les cultures situées de 0 à 3 m de l'arbre, par rapport aux rendements en plein champ.Dans les cultures en couloir, on a constaté qu'une taille precoce est préférable, c'est à dire que les rendements de sorgho ont été supérieurs dans les lignes proches des arbres taillés tôt que dans celles proches des arbres taillés tard.

研究调查木薯淀粉和阿拉伯树胶粘合印楝木屑制成压块的特性。压块在千斤顶平均压力为10.7kg&#183;cm^-2制成。木屑与粘合剂的重量比分别为:100:15,100:25,100:35和100:45。测试压块的物理和燃烧特性。压块的物理和燃烧特性的变化随粘合剂的种类和粘结剂的水平而变化佃〈0.05)。结果表明:淀粉为粘合剂压制的木屑压块有较好的性能、密度、耐用性、热值、固碳百分率、低灰和低挥发物分别为0.546g&#183;cm^-3、95.93%、33.09MJ&#183;kg^-1、84.70%、3.35%和11.95%;而阿拉伯树胶为粘合剂压制的木屑压块的密度、耐用性、热值、固碳百分率、低灰和低挥发物分别为0.425g&#183;cm^-3、94.85%、32.76MJ&#183;kg^-1、87.30%、4.45%和8.75%。研制压块是为了得到良好的燃料,当木屑与淀粉和阿拉伯树胶为粘合剂的比例分别为100:25和100:35,能得到最佳木屑压块。  相似文献

Azadirachta indica seed samples were collected from four different agro-ecological regions(AERs) viz.,AER-2,AER-4,AER-5A and AER-5B of Gujarat state,India during 2000 to 2002 with an aim to assess variability in azadirachtin,oil and fatty acids content of the seeds and assess correlation of these parameters with morphological characters.Azadirachtin,oil and fatty acids content indicated significant(p<0.01) variations between years and AERs in Gujarat.The azadirachtin ranged from 142 to 9 527 μg·g-1 seed kernel with an average of 2 426 μg·g-1 for the state.AER-5B recorded highest azadirachtin and oil content.Fatty acid composition was found to be affected by environmental factors particularly varying degree of annual rainfall and temperature during fruit ripening period.Conclusively trees growing in AER-5B performed better in term of azadirachtin,oil and stearic acid content.Tree girth at breast height showed no significant relation with these biochemicals.  相似文献

Fumigant activity of essential oil vapors distilled from Carum copticum C. B. Clarke and Vitex pseudo-negundo Hand I. MZT. was tested against eggs, larvae and adults of Callosobruchus maculatus (F.). Fumigant toxicity was assessed at 27 ± 1°C and 60 ± 5% RH, in dark condition. The influence of different concentrations of the essential oil vapors on egg hatchability, larval and adult mortality was significant. Data probit analysis showed that lethal concentration of the essential oil to kill 50% of the population (LC50) for egg, larvae and adult were found to be 1.01, 2.50 and 0.90 μl/l air of C. copticum oil, followed by 2.20, 8.42 and 9.39 μl/l air essential oil of V. pseudo-negundo, respectively. Between these essential oils, C. copticum was almost more toxic than V. pseudo-negundo on all growth stages of C. maculatus. The present study suggests that essential oils from these medicinal plants may be potential grain protectants as botanical alternative fumigants and could be used in the management of various life stages of C. maculatus.  相似文献

Abstract

Seasonal behavior of vascular cambium and development of secondary xylem were studied in the 2-3-years-old branches of Azadirachta indica A. Juss. (Meliaceae) growing in moist deciduous (MDF), dry deciduous (DDF) and scrub land (SF) forests of Gujarat State. Development of xylem began with the sprouting of new leaves in January in both MDF and DDF. Xylem production culminated in July in MDF whereas it reached peak in April and July in DDF. Cambial cells ceased to divide with the maturation of leaves in November and October in MDF and DDF, respectively. Mature xylem and phloem derivatives surrounded the cambium in December in MDF and November in DDF. Radial growth in the branches of trees growing in SF was found continuous throughout the year with peak cambial activity in April, July and November. In all the three forests, maximal radial growth was encountered in July when the rains were heavy. Cambial activity and xylem development showed significant correlation with the phenology of the trees in MDF and DDF whereas cambium was found active throughout the year and no correlation was found between the cambial activity and phenology in SF.  相似文献

Summary The ashes of some medicinally used tropical woods were characterised. These were Afzelia africana, Alstonia congensis, Antiaris africana, Terminalia ivorensis, Azadirachta indica, Ricinodendron heudelotti, Chlorophora excelsa and Daniellia ogea. The ashes were obtained by treating wood in a muffle furnace, after which the ashes dissolved in distilled water. The very alkaline solutions obtained were analysed for Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Mn2+, Fe2+, Cu2+, Cl-, SO 4 2- and PO 4 3- . Due to wide medicinal application of these wood species experiments were made to determine the cations and anions which may be active ingredients in the compounds (drugs) used in the treatment of differet ailments.The authors are thankful to A. Molluscicidal activity of cow urine alone and with different additives was studied against Lymnaea acuminata. The toxicity of cow urine kept for 15 days in sunlight (8 h/day) or ambient laboratory conditions against the snail was time- and concentration-dependent. The pH of fresh cow urine is 7.4 which changes to 10.9 when kept for 15 days in laboratory; exposure to sunlight for the same period alter the pH to 10.85. Binary combinations (1:1) of freeze-dried cow urine kept for 15 days separately with each of Allium sativum (Liliaceae) bulb powder, Azadirachta indica (Meliaceae) oil, Annona squamosa (Annonaceae) seed powder, Ferula asafoetida (Apiaceae) root latex and tea leaves, and Camellia sinensis (Theaceae) were more toxic to the snail than treatment with urine alone. Additives to cow urine in sunlight were more effective than those under laboratory conditions.  相似文献

Comparative water use by dryland trees in Parklands in Senegal   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1  
Despite the clear evidence of competition for water between trees and crops, there have been very few studies comparing simultaneous water use by differing tree species in drylands. Comparative water use by dryland trees was measured in Senegal using heat balance gauges at the end of the wet season and in the dry season. Significant differences between tree species were found for maximum rates of water use per unit leaf area. Indigenous species may be better adapted to the dry environment than exotic species but the indigenous species Acacia seyal Del. used more water per unit leaf area than all other species. The exotic species Azadirachta indica Adr. Juss. consistently used less water per unit leaf area than most other species. There were significant differences in amounts of water used per unit leaf area by differing provenances of the same tree species. Water use in the dry season varied by a factor of three between two provenances of Acacia aneura F. Muell ex Benth. indicating potential to select provenances for drylands based on their water use characteristics. Absolute rates of water use as well as differences in sapflow between species were greatest when soils were moist suggesting that comparative sapflow studies will be most informative when carried out during the wet season. This is the first article to report the evaluation of a natural product used as an antisilverfish agent. Silverfish (Lepisma saccharina), primitive wingless insects, feed on a variety of materials, including paper, cotton, starch, and cereals. They can be a problem in libraries and other places where books, documents, and papers are stored. In this pilot study, the essential oil from leaves of Cryptomeria japonica was investigated to test its properties as a silverfish repellent and insecticide. The results from a repellency bioassay show that the essential oil significantly repelled silverfish. The repellent activity was 80% at a dosage of 0.01 mg/cm3. When silverfish were exposed to a concentration of 0.16 mg/cm3 of essential oil, they were killed within 10h. The chemical composition of essential oil, the emissions from a test chamber, and the residue left on filter papers previously soaked with the essential oil in a chamber were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The components of the essential oil were found to be: elemol (18.22%), 16-kaurene (11.63%), 3-carene (9.66%), sabinene (9.37%), 4-terpineol (9.06%), β-eudesmol (5.70%), α-pinene (5.62%), and limonene (5.26%). Only some constituents of the essential oil compounds collected by solid-phase microextraction were found to be emitted in the test chamber. The main constituents were: 3-carene (21.03%), p-cymene (10.95%), limonene (9.49%), β-myrcene (9.39%), γ-terpinene (9.10%), α-terpinene (8.57%), and 4-terpineol (7.97%).  相似文献

From 1988 to 1990, leaves fromAzadirachta indica andAlbizia lebbeck were used as mulch on sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) in semi-arid Burkina Faso. Five different application modes, each representing a different combination of application timing and mulch composition, were evaluated. In one of the modes leaves were combined with sorghum straw. Leaf quantities applied corresponded to dosages of 25, 50 and 75 kg N ha–1 in all five modes.Dosage had a significant influence on yield all three years. The mulching effect increased progressively over the years and was more pronounced the higher the dosage. Mean grain yields obtained with the highest dosage, relative to an unmulched control, were 203%, 364% and 422%, for the three years, respectively. Application timing had a significant influence on yields in 1988 and 1989, but the response was not consistent. Differences in response were attributed to variation in the rainfall distribution. Mulch composition did not have a significant influence on yield during any of the three years. Of the five modes evaluated, the ones producing the highest yields over the three-year period of study were azadirachta leaves applied (i) at sowing and (ii) 4–6 weeks after sowing. Yields decreased on both the treated and untreated plots between 1988 and 1989. On the treated plots, yield generally increased again in 1990. This increase was attributed to a residual effect of the mulch. The residual effect probably only explained part of the large difference in yield between treated and untreated plots. It is therefore suggested that most of the nutrients released from the mulch were used by the plants during the same season, which increased production. Furthermore, the mulch layer could have reduced evaporation and thus increased the retention of soil water.
Résumé De 1988 à 1990, des feuilles d'Azadirachta indica et d'Albizia lebbeck ont été utilisées comme mulch sur une culture de sorgho blanc (Sorghum bicolor) au Burkina Faso, en climat semi-aride. Cinq modes d'application ont été évalués, chacun répresentant une compinaison différente en temps d'application et composition de mulch. Dans un des modes, les feuilles ont été combinées avec des tiges de sorgho. Les quantités de feuilles utilisées ont été équivalentes aux dosages de 25, 50 et 75 kg N ha–1 et ceci dans tous les cinq modes.Le dosage a eu une influence significative sur la récolte pendant toutes les trois années. Leffet a augmenté progressivement d'année en année et a été plus prononcé pour le dosage le plus élevé. Les moyennes de rendement de graines par rapport au témoin sans mulch, obtenues avec la dose de 75 kg N ha–1, ont été 203% pour la première année, 364% pour la seconde et 422% pour la troisième. Le temps d'application a eu une influence significative en 1988 et 1989, mais les résultats ont varié entre les années. Les différents résultats ont été attribués à la variation en distribution de la pluie. La composition de mulch n'a pas eu d'influence significative sur aucune des trois années. Parmi les cinq modes évalués, les deux qui ont assurés les récoltes les plus élevées sur la période entière de trois ans, étaient les feuilles d'azadirachta appliquées (i) au semis et (ii) 4–6 semaines après le semis. Les rendements ont baissés entre 1988 et 1989, tant sur les parcelles traitées que sur les parcelles non-traitées. Sur les parcelles traitées, les rendements ont de nouveau augmentés en 1990. Cette augmentation a été attribuée a un effet résiduel du mulch. Cet effet résiduel probablement n'explique qu'une partie de la grande différence en rendement entre les parcelles traitées et non-traitées. Il paraît donc que la plupart des élements nutritifs libérés par le mulch ont été utilisés par les plantes au cours de la même saison, et qu'ils ont ainsi augmenté la production. De plus, la couche de mulch a probablement réduit l'évaporation, résultant en une augmentation de la rétention d'eau dans le sol.
