The effect of Neem on the development ofEarias insulana Boisd. was investigated. Different concentrations of an aqueous extract of Neem kernels were incorporated in a semi-synthetic diet and larval growth, pupation rate and mortality of larvae were recorded. Neem was highly effective against 7-8- and 12-day-old larvae at all concentrations ranging between 0.075 and 1%. The systemic activity of Neem was investigated by standing cotyledons of a glandless cotton strain with their petioles in different concentrations of Neem. After 72 hours feeding at all concentrations tested, larval weight was about half that on the untreated leaves.  相似文献

The residual effect of a dried methanolic extract of neem (Azadirachta indica A. Juss) seed kernels was investigated with larvae of the Egyptian cotton leafworm,Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.), in field trials. Fodder beet was sprayed with 1% emulsions of the extract. The treated leaves were collected from the field 1, 3, 5 and 9 days after spraying and offered to the larvae for 48 h. Survival and mean weight of the larvae were recorded 2, 4, 6, 9 and 11 days from the start of exposure to the residues, and rate of pupation was calculated. The extract had a strong antifeedant effect and an intense insect growth-regulating (IGR) effect in field-treated leaves, especially with the 1- and 3-day-old residues. A positive correlation was found between the age of the residues and the mean percent of live larvae, larval weight and pupation rate of the larvae.  相似文献

The effectiveness of a commercial preparation ofBacillus thuringiensis Berliner (Dipel) against eggs and larvae ofBoarmia (Ascotis) selenaria Schiff. of different age was examined in laboratory and in field tests. The mortality rate ofB. selenaria was proportional to the concentration ofB. thuringiensis and inversely related to the age of the treated larvae. In neonate larvae, 100% mortality was obtained even with a low concentration (0.5%). Egg hatch was not affected, but the survival rate of larvae hatched from treated eggs was very low (2.2%). No phytotoxicity of the commercial microbial preparation was observed on fruit or leaves of avocado. High doses ofB. thuringiensis persisted on avocados, probably because of specific conditions:i.e., absence of rainfall, moderate temperatures and limited penetration of sunlight. Tests carried out in large commercial orchards, using motor-guns and helicopters, yielded good results.  相似文献

Small (70 mg) Boarmia selenaria larvae fed for 4 days on avocado leaves or alfalfa dipped in aqueous diflubenzuron suspensions suffered from severe developmental disturbances. Similar results were obtained with leaves sprayed in an avocado orchard, with which, in addition, the considerable persistence of diflubenzuron under field conditions could be demonstrated. The substance was also active by topical application against large (500–600 mg) B. selenaria larvae, whereas by contact it was only moderately toxic. Some other non-conventional control agents, viz., the antifeedant AC-24055 and several juvenile hormone analogues, were of medium and negligible activity, respectively, against this insect.  相似文献

High antifeedancy and low toxicity of the plant preparation Neem (azadirachtin), on the gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar L. larvae were proved under laboratory conditions. A high index of Neem antifeedancy was confirmed in all tested concentrations.Under laboratory conditions the Neem had satisfying antifeedancy on Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say third instar larvae too. Field experiments also proved that the foliage protective effect of Neem was very significant.Experiments showed that some antifeedants or repellents, such as Neem, should control olygophagous (L. decemlineata, Coleoptera) insects as well as very polyphagous insects such as L. dispar (Lepidoptera).As a biological, plant-derived preparation, Neem could be suitable for integrated pest management (IPM) programs, especially in small orchards, parks, and tree rows in urban environments and on small private gardens.  相似文献

棉株施用缩节胺后能减少棉铃虫(Heliothis armigera Habner)在棉株上的落卵量48.8%—88%,田间虫量减少39.5%—77.3%,取食嫩叶、花蕾后的2龄幼虫体重下降、发育历期延长,死亡率增加,化蛹率和羽化率都有下降,总的生存率降低了57.62%。测定表明施用缩节胺后,棉株各部组织内棉酚有增加趋势,以蕾内增加较多,为49%—92.1%,铃壳次之,为13.8%—65.5%,叶内较少,为3.6%—39.7%。而单宁量除大铃壳内有增外,大多下降。施用次数与剂量的增加,与棉酚量的提高有共同趋势。花蕾期施用,棉酚量的增加高于花铃期。  相似文献

用叶碟法测定了嗜线虫致病杆菌CB6菌株发酵液对小菜蛾幼虫的致死率、拒食活性以及对生长发育的影响。结果表明 ,其发酵液对幼虫有较高的生物活性 ,取食 3d后 ,1~3龄幼虫的校正死亡率分别为 84.75%、68.33%和 59.32%。 4龄幼虫取食量显著减少 ,选择性拒食率为 76.59% ,非选择性拒食率为 69.72%。 3龄幼虫取食发酵液处理的叶片后 ,生长极其缓慢 ,在 48h时体重抑制率达 100% ,化蛹率和羽化率均明显下降 ,其中化蛹率仅为 15.56% ,100%蛹不能羽化。  相似文献

The potency of two newBacillus thuringiensis (B.t.) preparations (coded ABG 6104 and ABG 6105) and of Dipel (B. thuringiensis var.kurstaki) was determined againstSpodoptera littoralis (Boisd.) 5th-instar larvae on a calcium-alginate diet. With this bioassay, the newB.t. products were more than twice as potent as Dipel. They were also 2–3 times more active than Dipel on alfalfa and cotton leaves in the laboratory. When applied in an alfalfa field at the rate of 312 mg/m2, ABG 6104 and ABG 6105 caused 40% mortality of 5th-instar larvae and reduced the weight of the survivors to 30–40% of the control; only half of this activity was obtained with Dipel. On cotton, the activity of all theB. t. products was low. NeonateS. littoralis larvae were effectively controlled on avocado seedlings; however, there was high mortality also in the untreated controls. All threeB. t. preparations had a similar effect onBoarmia (Ascotis) selenaria Schiff. on avocado leaves in the laboratory. Addition of a chitinase enzyme did not increase the pathogenicity of the microbial preparations in the latter tests.  相似文献

为明确转Bt基因玉米对草地贪夜蛾Spodoptera frugiperda的抗性,采用室内玉米离体组织生测法测定取食转Cry1Ab-ma基因抗虫玉米CM8101心叶、花丝和籽粒后草地贪夜蛾1龄和2龄幼虫存活数量、存活幼虫的体重、蛹重、化蛹和羽化等参数,分析转Cry1Ab-ma基因抗虫玉米CM8101三种组织对草地贪夜蛾1龄和2龄幼虫的抗性。结果显示,转Cry1Ab-ma基因玉米CM8101心叶可完全杀死草地贪夜蛾1龄幼虫,2龄幼虫有存活,存活率为10.0%,但不能化蛹与羽化;花丝可杀死大部分草地贪夜蛾1龄幼虫,存活率为3.3%,并阻断其生活史,但对2龄幼虫杀伤力弱,存活率为73.3%,存活幼虫化蛹率和羽化率分别为20.0%和13.3%;籽粒可完全杀死草地贪夜蛾1龄幼虫,2龄幼虫有存活,存活率为13.3%,有少量可化蛹,化蛹率为3.3%、有少量羽化,羽化率为3.3%。表明转Cry1Ab-ma基因玉米CM8101在短期内对草地贪夜蛾1龄和2龄幼虫有良好的控制作用。  相似文献

Effects of a juvenile hormone analog, pyriproxyfen, on various developmental stadia of the onion thrips, Thrips tabaci Lindeman, were determined on cabbage leaves in the laboratory. Pyriproxyfen was applied at 0.064 or 0.128 g AI liter(-1) on leaves (residual contact-ingestion), thrips (direct contact) and leaf-thrips (residue contact-ingestion-direct contact). Pyriproxyfen did not have any significant lethal effects on thrips pupae in any treatment. Lethal effects on thrips larvae varied depending on application method and dosage. In the leaf and the leaf-thrips treatments, few larvae and pre-pupae molted to the next stage, and none developed to adults. In contrast, in the thrips-only treatment, pyriproxyfen did not show any significant lethal effects. The developmental times of larvae and pre-pupae were prolonged when larvae were treated with pyriproxyfen, and those of pre-pupae and pupae were shortened when pre-pupae and pupae were treated. The longevity and survival rates of thrips adults were generally shorter when they contacted and ingested pyriproxyfen-treated leaves than those in water control. Significantly fewer progeny (0.22-1.15 larvae per female) were produced by females that had fed on and been in contact with the pyriproxyfen-treated leaves than by those in the water control (11.94 larvae per female). However, the number of progeny produced by the thrips females increased significantly (3.32-7.28 larvae per female) when the females were transferred to untreated leaves after feeding on treated leaves for 5 days; the daily larval hatching pattern was similar to those in water control, indicating that female adults were able to produce viable eggs when untreated food was offered.  相似文献

A competitive ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) technique was evaluated for quantifying titres of imidacloprid in homogenates of leaf discs sampled from avocado plants treated with systemic applications of imidacloprid 240 g litre(-1) SC (Admire). Matrix effects were evident with undiluted leaf tissue homogenates, but these were effectively eliminated by dilution of homogenates in water. In a field trial conducted in a commercial nursery, there was an excellent correlation between imidacloprid residues within leaves and avocado thrips (Scirtothrips perseae Nakahara) mortality. However, with subsequent sampling over a 2-month period, the relationship between mortality and apparent imidacloprid concentration became less robust, suggesting that the material was being degraded within the plant to non-toxic metabolites. Nevertheless, assessments of thrips mortality on leaves that had been recently treated with imidacloprid established a lower threshold of activity for imidacloprid residues of 6 ng cm(-2) leaf. Limitations on the use of ELISA to quantify the impact of systemic insecticides on pest populations are discussed.  相似文献

The effects of five economically important vegetable (seed) oils, peanut, cottonseed, castor, soybean and sunflower, on adult and immature stages of the sweetpotato whitefly(Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) [Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae]) were studied in the laboratory. Irrespective of origin, oil residues had similar effects on immature stages and adult mortality, and on settling and oviposition deterrence. Trends for 5-h settling, 24-h oviposition and 24-h survival of adults on treated plants were similar for oils applied at the same concentration range. Settling deterrence was strong enough to cause adult death due to starvation or dehydration under no-choice conditions, and caused greater mortality than direct physical toxicity; similar results were obtained when adult survival on oil residues was compared to survival of starved adults. Adults recovered when transferred from oil-treated to untreated plants. All oils produced similar effects when sprayed on immatures; the egg and fourth instar (pupa) were the most tolerant stages. The oil concentration required for significant effects on whitefly mortality and behavior was relatively high (>0.3%) compared with published efficacy data for synthetic pesticides, and varied to some extent with oil origin. All tested oils were active as direct and residual larvicides. Peanut oil was the most effective for all tested effects, followed by cottonseed oil, which was significantly less effective than peanut and castor oils when applied-directly to eggs. Only by this latter parameter was castor oil more effective than cottonseed oil and similar to peanut oil. As direct sprays to larvae, soybean and sunflower oils resembled castor oils, but their residues were less effective against all stages.  相似文献

The effects of the fungicides benomyl, thiophanate-methyl and triadimefon on the chrysomelid beetle Gastrophysa polygoni were investigated in the laboratory. Contact with a suspension of benomyl (1.5 g a. i. litre?1 did not affect the hatchability of the eggs. Larvae were reared on shoots of knotgrass (Polygonum aviculare) that had been sprayed with suspensions of benomyl, ranging in concentration from 0.1 to 5.0 g a. i. litre?1. The mortality to the adult stage, of larvae reared on shoots treated with concentrations of benomyl of 0.5 g a. i. litre?1 and above, was significantly higher than that of control larvae. At concentrations of 2.0 g a. i. litre?1 and above, no larvae survived to the adult stage. The LD50 was 0.78 g a. i. benomyl litre?1. The LT50 values at concentrations of 1.0, 2.0 and 5.0 g a. i. benomyl litre?1 were 22.6, 12.6 and 5.3 days, respectively. The mean weights of adults bred from larvae that had been reared on shoots treated with benomyl (0.5 and 1.0 g a. i. litre?1) were significantly less than those of adults bred from control larvae. The mortality of larvae, reared on shoots of P. aviculare treated with triadimefon (0.5 g a. i. litre?1) or thiophanate-methyl (1.0 g a. i. litre?1), was also significantly higher than that of control larvae. Females kept on plants of P. aviculare treated with benomyl (1.5 g a. i. litre?1) laid similar numbers of eggs to those kept on untreated plants, and the hatchability of the eggs was not affected.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Feeding assays using adult rice water weevils and foliage of plants treated as seeds with chlorantraniliprole and thiamethoxam at different rates were conducted to evaluate the systemic adulticidal and feeding effects. Dose–mortality relationships were determined for thiamethoxam seed treatments by combining leaf area lost due to feeding and insecticide residues analyzed by LC/MS/MS. Changes in adulticidal activity of thiamethoxam were also investigated by contrasting adult mortalities at the 5–6‐leaf and tillering stages of rice. RESULTS: Adult weevil mortalities and leaf consumption rates on foliage were affected in thiamethoxam but not in chlorantraniliprole treatments when rice was at the 6–7‐leaf stage. The LD50 for weevils feeding on thiamethoxam‐treated rice at the 2–3‐leaf stage was 447 pg insecticide weevil?1 (95% CL: 25–830 pg weevil?1) but was lower (142 pg weevil?1; 95% CL: 102–180 pg weevil?1) in experiments with 3–4‐leaf‐stage plants. Mortalities on leaves from 5–6‐leaf‐stage plants were consistently higher than on leaves from tillering plants. Thiamethoxam residues measured by ELISA increased with seed treatment rate and differed between plant stages. CONCLUSION: The LD50 values developed in this study are the first values for leaf‐feeding insects on foliage of plants treated as seeds with thiamethoxam. The attrition of adulticidal activity of thiamethoxam in foliage of older plants may help to explain the reduced effectiveness of seed treatments against rice water larvae that is seen at later stages of rice growth in field studies. The differential activity of these two seed treatments on adults suggests that adult mortality contributes to the field efficacy of thiamethoxam but not to that of chlorantraniliprole. 本文报道6个昆虫病原线虫品系对危害韭菜的迟眼(?)蚊的侵染力,以Heoerorhabditissp.D_1的侵染力为最高。室内试验表明,当沙土中D_1线虫与裸露的迟眼(?)蚊幼虫的比为15:1时,幼虫死亡率可达81.8%.盆栽试验中益害比为38:1时,由于该幼虫大部分在韭菜茎内为害,寄生率仅35.1%,但对茎外的蛹寄生率可达82.7%.  相似文献

为明确李树上新纪录害虫北亚脉扁蜂Neurotoma sibirica的生物学特性,通过田间调查和室内饲养观察,记述该虫的形态特征、生活史及生物学特性。结果表明,北亚脉扁蜂在吉林省吉林市1年发生1代,以老熟幼虫在树下5~15 cm深的土层中做土室越冬。每年4月中旬幼虫开始化蛹,5月上旬成虫羽化出土,5月中旬为成虫盛期,成虫产卵从5月上旬持续到5月下旬,单雌产卵量为13~43粒,卵期5~9 d。6月上旬为北亚脉扁蜂幼虫为害盛期,幼虫为6龄或7龄,幼虫期14~21 d,6月中、下旬老熟幼虫陆续入土越冬。北亚脉扁蜂幼虫在李、紫叶李、杏、榆叶梅4种寄主上均可完成发育,在自然条件下李树受害率可达100%,紫叶李树受害率为40%,杏树受害率为20%。北亚脉扁蜂天敌有龟纹瓢虫Propylea japonica、异色瓢虫Harmonia axyridis、斯马蜂Polistes snelleni、日本弓背蚁Camponotus japonicus、2种姬蜂及1种病原菌。  相似文献

A droplet feeding technique was used to feed known amounts of Vairimorpha necatrix (Kramer) spores to larvae of the tomato moth, Lacanobia oleracea (L) in order to assess the susceptibility of this lepidopteran pest to the pathogen. All first- to fourth-instar larvae died as a result of ingesting 1000 or more V necatrix spores. Two forms of death were observed, which were dependent on the dose and the age of the insect when treated. For first-instar larvae, rapid death (within 6days of dosing) occurred after ingestion of 2000 spores, whereas lower doses resulted in a proportion of larvae dying from chronic infection (microsporidiosis). For more advanced stages, increasing spore doses were required to give rapid death, such that a dose of 200,000 spores was needed to give 80% mortality within 6 days for third-instar larvae. Rapid death was not observed in fourth- to sixth-instar larvae. In all cases successful pupation and adult emergence were much reduced compared with non-infected larvae. Suspensions of V necatrix were sprayed on to tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill) plants maintained in small glasshouses prior to infestation of the plants with L oleracea larvae. The numbers and biomass of pest larvae retrieved from the plants sprayed with V necatrix were significantly reduced by up to 40% and 70%, respectively, compared with plants sprayed with water (control). Similarly, plants sprayed with V necatrix showed a reduction in damage of up to 45% compared with the control plants.  相似文献

Larvae of the fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith)) were maintained on a semidefined artificial diet until the end of the fifth instar and the newly molted sixth-instar larvae were then fed fresh leaves of various host plants for 2 days prior to microsomal oxidase assays. The order of the midgut aldrin epoxidase activity of larvae after feeding on these plants was: corn > Bermuda grass > cotton > cowpeas > cabbage > peanuts > sorghum > alfalfa > millet > soybean. The ratios of aldrin epoxidase, p-nitroanisole O-demethylase, and p-chloro-N-methylaniline N-demethylase activities for soybean- and corn-fed larvae were 4.5, 6.3, and 2.7-fold, respectively. The induction was affected by the age and developmental stage of the corn plant with mature leaves from old plants being more active. Higher epoxidase activities were also observed in mature larvae reared on corn plants since egg stage as compared with those on soybean plants. Monoterpenes such as α-pinene, β-pinene, limonene, menthol, and peppermint oil were found to induce the midgut epoxidase activity. Corn-fed larvae were more tolerant of the insecticides methomyl, acephate, methamidophos, diazinon, trichlorfon, monocrotophos, permethrin, and cypermethrin than soybean-fed larvae.  相似文献

在温度为25℃的实验条件下,测定了四季豆(红花架豆和红花地豆)、长豇豆和黄瓜等寄主对美洲斑潜蝇种群参数的影响。结果表明,除卵历期外,美洲斑潜蝇幼虫、蛹、卵-蛹历期、雌成虫寿命和生殖力在四季豆、长豇豆和黄瓜3种寄主植物上均存在极显著的差异(p<0.01),而在四季豆的两个不同品种上差异不显著(p>0.05)。美洲斑潜蝇在选择性强的四季豆上发育历期最短,化蛹率最高,雌成虫寿命最长、生殖力最高;在选择性差的黄瓜上发育历期最长,化蛹率最低,雌成虫寿命最短,生殖力最低。孵化率、羽化率和成虫性比在供试寄主间差异很小。  相似文献
