Industrial innovation in Japan and the United States   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Japanese firms tend to be quicker and more economical than U.S.firms at developing and introducing new products and processes, but this advantage seems to exist only among innovations based on external technology, rather than internal technology. Whereas U.S.firms put more emphasis on marketing start-up, they put much less emphasis on tooling, equipment, and manufacturing facilities than do Japanese firms. Applied R&D in Japan, which focuses more on processes than in the United States, seems to have yielded a handsome return; but there is no evidence that the rate of return from basic research has been relatively high in Japan. In robotics, the Japanese edge seems to increase as one moves from R&D toward the market.  相似文献

Although much research has examined the effect of income on happiness, we suggest that how people spend their money may be at least as important as how much money they earn. Specifically, we hypothesized that spending money on other people may have a more positive impact on happiness than spending money on oneself. Providing converging evidence for this hypothesis, we found that spending more of one's income on others predicted greater happiness both cross-sectionally (in a nationally representative survey study) and longitudinally (in a field study of windfall spending). Finally, participants who were randomly assigned to spend money on others experienced greater happiness than those assigned to spend money on themselves.  相似文献

采用问卷调查和个人访谈相结合的方法对生物技术专业学生参与科研状况进行调查,调查结果发现:参与科研活动的大多数学生有很好的科研素质;参与科研的大多数学生是为了自身的发展,投入到科研的时间较多;大部分学生认为参加科研活动能促进自身学习,有助于个人能力的提高。针对调查发现的一些问题,提出了以下几点建议:①加强生物技术专业学生科研活动的机制和措施;②鼓励生物技术专业学生独立地进行科研立项;③将教师的主导性与学生科研的主动性相结合。  相似文献

采用录像观察和数理统计等研究方法对2014年女子摔跤世界杯32场比赛的技术容量、技术全面性和技术效果进行统计,以期对世界优秀女子摔跤运动员技术运用特征进行归纳与总结。结果表明:(1)站立类技术容量远大于跪撑类,技术容量最多的是抱腿,最少的为抱胸滚桥;日本队的各类技术容量均第一;日本、俄罗斯和中国均擅长抱腿技术,匈牙利擅长抱臂类技术,俄罗斯队跪撑角斗能力弱。(2)日本队的技术全面性排名第一,美国和中国实力相当。(3)站立类和跪撑类中的多个小项使用上表现出一个大致的规律:技术容量越少,技术效果越高;日本队站立类技术效果最高,中国队数据偏弱。(4)等级相关分析表明,技术容量、技术效果对比赛成绩没有显著的影响作用,仅站立类的技术全面性对比赛成绩有明显的影响作用。  相似文献

花后不同时期高温对春小麦淀粉含量和产量的影响研究   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
春小麦灌浆期频繁遭受高温危害,严重影响了小麦产量和品质。本研究在盆栽条件下,探讨了花后不同时期高温对春小麦淀粉形成和产量的影响。结果表明,灌浆期高温使春小麦籽粒直链淀粉含量上升,支链淀粉含量下降,直支比增大,总淀粉降低显著,淀粉品质下降。花后高温导致春小麦粒质量降低,产量下降。因此,采取相应栽培技术缓解花后高温危害,可以在一定程度上提高宁夏春小麦的产量。  相似文献

The United States faces an international economic challenge that can best be met with a renewed emphasis on the basic science and engineering that underlies new technology. For 20 years, however, the nation has not invested adequately in the science and engineering base, with the result that we have too few young people entering science and engineering programs and inadequate facilities and equipment in the nation's universities. We need a fresh infusion of resources into the universities, together with a new emphasis on cooperative efforts between universities and industry. It authorizes the Department of Health and Human Services to spend $30 million to set up and administer a system of retirement sanctuaries for chimpanzees no longer needed for research. A Japanese database on research and development that disaggregates an industry's intramural expenditure into 31 different product fields is used tp measure technological diversification. Sectoral patterts are identified in terms of upstream, downstream, and horizontal diversification-that is, respectively, diversification of an industry's research and development activities into product fields that are industrial inputs of that industry, into those that are outputs, and diversification that is not directed through the path of input-output relations. The pattern of the electronics industry is identified as downstream diversification whereas that of the chemical industry is identified as horizontal. The declining industry is generally making upstream diversification. Japanese corporate and governmental policies, such as trade policy, industrial policy, and the research association scheme, have accelerated technological diversification.  相似文献
