Small spots are a newly-defined manifestation ofBotrytis cinerea infection on phylloclades of ruscus. The dark, water-soaked spots encircled by a faint halo, which are found on young phylloclades, become brown lesions later but do not grow in size. Control of all symptoms caused byB. cinerea on ruscus (Ruscus hypoglossum L.),i.e., phylloclade rot or restricted lesions, upper branch rot, and stem canker, was achieved by sprays of fenetrazole (alone), diethofencarb + carbendazim, vinclozolin (alone) or alternately by sprays of diethofencarb + carbendazim, polyoxin B, and polyoxin D. Delay of disease development was achieved by copper sulfate pentahydrate and by the spray adjuvant Nufilm at a high rate of application. Mixing vinclozolin with copper, fenetrazole, TMTD or Nufilm did not control disease better than vinclozolin or fenetrazole alone. Postharvest control of gray mold (up to 72% reduction) in mature branches stored at 18°C was achieved by some of the above mentioned fungicides and by dichloftuanid, tebuconazole (alone or mixed together), iprodione, polyoxin AL, and vinclozolin + TMTD. Measures designed to improve field control of Botrytis epidemics in ruscus are discussed.  相似文献

Seventeen field isolates of Botrytis cinerea were compared by determining their radial growth on synthetic media containing various amounts of 21 antifungal compounds. Twelve of these compounds were fungicides that are recommended for the control of Botrytis infections. There were marked differences between the isolates in their sensitivity to the compounds. Individual isolates displayed high levels of resistance to some of the fungicides, including benomyl, carbendazim, iprodione, thiabendazole, thiophanate-methyl, vinclozolin and zineb. The most potent growth inhibitors were benomyl and carbendazim (ED95 values for most isolates <0.1 μg fungicide ml?1 media), dichlofluanid, iprodione, nystatin, thiabendazole, thiophanatemethyl and vinclozolin (ED95 values for most isolates < 1.0 μg ml?1), and captan, chlorothalonil, dicloran and thiram (ED95 values for most isolates < 6.0 μg ml?1). Zineb was much less potent than the other recommended anti-Botrytis fungicides; it was no more effective than carboxin, dinocap and mancozeb (ED95 values for most isolates > 25 μg ml?1).  相似文献

After nitrosoguanidine- or UV-mutagenesis, three different benzimidazole-resistant phenotypes were isolated on media containing benomyl or a mixture of carbendazim and diethofencarb from wild-type strains of Botrytis cinerea Pers. ex Fr. and Ustilago maydis (D.C.) Corda. Mutants of B. cinerea with moderate (MBr) or low (LBr) resistance to benzimidazoles and high resistance to diethofencarb (Dr) were isolated from the fungicide-mixture-containing medium in low frequency (7–1 × 10?8). Only benzimidazole-resistant strains highly sensitive to diethofencarb (HBrDs) were identified on benomyl-containing medium at a frequency of 6.6 × 10?6. Fitness-determining characteristics such as sporulation, germination and germ-tube elongation, were found to be reduced significantly in the mutants of B. cinerea that were resistant to both benzimidazoles and diethofencarb. However, pathogenicity of a MBrDr mutant strain on cucumber seedlings was equal to that of the wild type and a carbendazim + diethofencarb mixture was found to control grey mould caused by the wild type, but was not effective when the plant cotyledons were infected by the mutant strain. Three benzimidazole-resistant phenotypes (HBrDs, HBrDr, MBrDr) were isolated easily in U. maydis from a benomyl-containing medium. In contrast with B. cinerea, only one-tenth of the benzimidazole-resistant strains were sensitive to diethofencarb. Genetic analysis of benzimidazole resistance in U. maydis showed that the three benzimidazole-resistant phenotypes were due to three allelic mutations in a single gene and one of them was responsible for the negative cross-resistance between benzimidazoles and diethofencarb.  相似文献

During the period January-March 1989, 15 greenhouses at 12 sites in Israel were surveyed for the presence of fungicide-resistant strains of Botrytis cinerea , using a fungicide-amended Botrytis -selective medium. Resistance to benzimidazoles (BenR) and to dicarboximides (DicR) was frequent in most sites. Resistance to carbendazim + diethofencarb (BenR NPCR) was found in all eight sites in which a mixture of these fungicides had been used against grey mould, but not in other sites. A new phenotype of multiple fungicide resistance was found among these isolates. The new phenotype, designated BenR DicR NPCR, combines the three previously described characteristics of resistance to benzimidazole, dicarboximide and N -phenylcarbamate fungicides. It was found only in cucumber greenhouses that had been sprayed with the fungicide mixture carbendazim + diethofencarb against grey mould. Isolates of this phenotype were pathogenic in artificial inoculation of cucumber cotyledons treated with carbendazim, iprodione or carbendazim + diethofencarb.  相似文献

No cross-resistance was observed between pyrimethanil or cyprodinil and the fungicides benomyl, iprodione or carbendazim + diethofencarb. In vitro, both anilinopyrimidine fungicides were effective against strains of Botrytis cinerea resistant to benzimidazoles and/or dicarboximides and against a wild type strain insensitive to diethofencarb (EC50 values ranged between 0.03–0.19 and 0.006–0.054gml–1 for pyrimethanil and cyprodinil, respectively). Preventive applications of anilinopyrimidines completely protected young cucumber plants and fruits that were inoculated with all strains of B. cinerea. The effectiveness of pyrimethanil against grey mould was studied in greenhouse grown tomatoes in relation to (a) the type of infection and the progress of the disease on different plant parts and (b) the response of the naturally occurring B. cinerea population to the selection pressure caused by eight successive applications of this fungicide. Pyrimethanil effectively controlled grey mould on leaves, fruits and stems but did not significantly reduce the number of dead plants and fruits with 'ghost spot' symptoms. The selection pressure caused by the consecutive applications of pyrimethanil resulted in reduction of its effectiveness on leaves that became apparent after the sixth application. This was correlated with a shift of the B. cinerea population (not previously exposed to anilinopyrimidines) towards reduced sensitivity, probably due to the development of a low level of resistance (R L = 7.7). Pyrimethanil delayed the onset of the disease but it did not reduce the infection rate.  相似文献

Field isolates of Botrytis cinerea with moderate levels of resistance to dicarboximide fungicides (ED50 1.0–4.9 μg ml?1) and to dicloran were obtained from glasshouses where vinclozolin and iprodione failed to control grey mould. From sensitive and moderatcly-resistant cultures, laboratory isolates were selected on dicarboximide-amended medium, which were highly resistant to these fungicides (ED50 125->3000 μg ml?1). Conidia of all the resistant isolates germinated well on media amended with 100 μg ml?1 of the dicarboximides vinclozolin, iprodione, procymidone and myclozolin and with 5 μg ml?1 of metomeclan. However, the spores of the moderately resistant isolates did not germinate on 100 μg ml?1 metomeclan while the spores of the highly resistant isolates germinated well. Using media with 100 μg ml?1 of metomeclan to distinguish between the two phenotypes, no highly resistant strain was detected among 312 resistant samples from five cucumber glasshouses with a high frequency of moderately resistant strains. From air-borne inoculum of five glasshouses with 100% resistant populations, 1604 colonies were recovered on vinclozolin-amended (100 μg ml?1) medium and none on metomeclan-amended (100 μg ml?1) medium. It is concluded that strains of B. cinerea highly resistant to dicarboximides are absent from field populations.  相似文献

为探究10%乙霉威·腐霉利微粉剂(有效成分质量分数:5%乙霉威,5%腐霉利)在设施黄瓜上施用后的沉积分布特性及残留消解动态,采用PC-3A(S)型激光粉尘仪及粉尘取样片,分别研究了不同设施类型、不同温湿度及不同施药角度下,10%乙霉威·腐霉利微粉剂在设施黄瓜上的沉积分布情况;并于2017年和2018年,分别在北京市进行了该药剂在设施黄瓜叶片和果实中的残留及消解动态试验。结果表明:不同设施类型、不同温度条件下,10%乙霉威·腐霉利微粉剂的沉积分布特性无明显差异,且其有效成分分解率不受温度影响;不同湿度条件下,该微粉剂在黄瓜叶片上的沉积量不同,湿度越大沉积量越多。乙霉威和腐霉利在黄瓜叶片和果实中的消解动态均符合准一级动力学或一级动力学方程,2种药剂在叶片中的半衰期分别为3.2 d和3.0~3.2 d,在果实中的半衰期分别为4.0~4.3 d和3.1~3.8 d。采用10%乙霉威·腐霉利微粉剂,分别按100 g/hm2和150 g/hm2(1.5倍)剂量于黄瓜幼果期施药,最多施药3次,施药间隔期为7 d,距最后一次施药间隔7、10和14 d分别采样,乙霉威在黄瓜果实中的最大残留量为0.88 mg/kg,低于中国国家标准规定的其最大残留限量(MRL)值(5 mg/kg),腐霉利在黄瓜果实中的最大残留量为0.49 mg/kg,也低于其MRL值(2 mg/kg)。该研究结果可为10%乙霉威·腐霉利微粉剂在设施黄瓜上的安全使用提供数据支持。  相似文献

采用菌丝生长速率法测定了7种杀菌剂对蘑菇褐腐病菌Mycogone perniciosa Magn.的室内毒力及其中5种杀菌剂对双孢蘑菇Agaricus bisporus的室内安全性,并通过田间小区试验评价了其中6种杀菌剂对蘑菇褐腐病的药效及对双孢蘑菇的安全性。室内测定结果表明:多菌灵、咪鲜胺、噻菌灵、百菌清、苯醚甲环唑及戊唑醇对蘑菇褐腐病菌的毒力均较强,EC50值分别为0.036 9、0.024 5、0.296、0.136、0.036 0和0.058 1 mg/L,福美双毒力较弱,EC50值为88.0 mg/L;多菌灵和百菌清对双孢蘑菇较安全,苯醚甲环唑、戊唑醇及福美双对其有药害风险。田间试验结果表明:按有效成分质量分数计,50%多菌灵可湿性粉剂(WP)250、500和1 000 mg/kg,50%咪鲜胺锰盐WP 333、266和200 mg/kg,75%百菌清WP 375 mg/kg对蘑菇褐腐病的防效较好,且对双孢蘑菇生长无显著影响;而采用43%戊唑醇悬浮剂(SC)143.3、86.0 mg/kg防治褐腐病时,双孢蘑菇的减产率分别为20.54%和13.19%,采用10%苯醚甲环唑可分散粒剂(WG)33.3 mg/kg时,减产率为4.73%,表明这2种杀菌剂对双孢蘑菇的安全性较差,不宜用于防治蘑菇褐腐病;50%福美双WP 1 000 和 500 mg/kg均会造成蘑菇出菇推迟,而166.7 mg/kg的防效较差,因此也不宜用于防治蘑菇褐腐病。  相似文献

Based on the 'negative cross-resistance' phenomenon between N -phenylcarbamates and benzimidazole fungicides, the fungicidal mixture of carbendazim + diethofencarb (MBC + NPC) was introduced, to control Botrytis cinerea phenotypes which are either sensitive to benzimidazoles and resistant to NPC (wild-type: BenS NPCR). or resistant to benzimidazoles and sensitive to NPC(BenR NPCS). At one out of four sites where the MBC + NPC mixture was used in commercial cucumber greenhouses, grey mould control failed and a new phenotype of B. cinerea was found. The new phenotype was resistant to benzimidazoles, as was 100% of the population screened in the four sites, but retained resistance to NPC. Accordingly, the new phenotype was designated BenR NPCR. Boron is a microelement required for normal growth and development of plants but its positive effect is restricted to a narrow range of concentrations. The gradual increase in use of recycled water, which contains high concentrations of boron for irrigation, has already raised the level of boron in soils and plants in southern Israel. This research was conducted to examine the direct effects of sub‐phytotoxic boron concentrations on potato late blight epidemics and to explore the mode of action of boron against Phytophthora infestans. When boron was applied alone to field grown potato plants it did not affect the epidemic. However, together with a reduced rate of the fungicide Melody Duo (propineb + iprovalicarb), boron improved late blight suppression compared to plants treated with the fungicide alone. The ED50 of boron against P. infestans (256·4 mg L?1) was about 6400 times higher than the ED50 value of the fungicide chlorothalonil (0·04 mg L?1), indicating that boron does not have a direct fungicidal activity that would explain the level of protection seen in the field. In greenhouse experiments conducted with potted tomato plants, boron decreased late blight severity in both treated leaves and distant leaves not treated with boron. The results suggest that boron is active locally but also may induce systemic acquired resistance against P. infestans.  相似文献

测定了苯并咪唑类杀菌剂敏感-乙霉威抗性(BenS-DieR)、苯并咪唑类杀菌剂抗性-乙霉威敏感(BenR-DieS)和苯并咪唑类杀菌剂抗性-乙霉威抗性(BenR-DieR)3种类型的番茄叶霉病菌Cladosporium fulvum菌株对不同类型药剂的敏感性。结果表明,蕃茄叶霉病菌对供试药剂的敏感性与其对苯并咪唑类杀菌剂及乙霉威的敏感性无关。根据药剂对3类菌株EC50值的平均值, 16种杀菌剂抑制菌丝生长的活性依次为腐霉利>乙烯菌核利>异菌脲>戊唑醇>百菌清>嘧霉胺>醚菌酯>代森锰锌>8-羟基喹啉铜>丙环唑>苯醚甲环唑>嘧菌酯>灭锈胺>烯酰吗啉>烟酰胺>三唑酮;抑制孢子萌发的活性依次为醚菌酯>腐霉利>百菌清>乙烯菌核利>灭锈胺>8-羟基喹啉铜>异菌脲>代森锰锌>嘧菌酯>烟酰胺>嘧霉胺>戊唑醇>丙环唑>苯醚甲环唑>三唑酮>烯酰吗啉。通过紫外诱变共获得17株抗异菌脲突变体,突变频率为4.5×10-7。其中低抗、中抗和高抗菌株分别占 17.65%、70.59%和11.75%。这些突变体对腐霉利和乙烯菌核利表现交互抗性,对苯并咪唑类、脱甲基抑制剂(DMIs)、QoIs等药剂的敏感性与亲本菌株之间没有显著性差异,与亲本菌株在生长、产孢、致病能力等方面也无显著差异,但对渗透胁迫的敏感性要显著高于亲本。  相似文献

A preparation of Trichoderma harzianum was sprayed on cucumber plants in greenhouses in order to control fruit and stem grey mould. Up to 90% control was achieved by the biocontrol agent (0·5–1·0 g/l) which in most experiments under commercial conditions was as effective as the dicarboximide fungicides iprodione or vinclozolin (0·5 g/l each) alone or alternated with diethofencarb + carbendazim (0·25 g/l each). However, in one experiment disease incidence in Trichoderma -treated plots did not differ significantly from the control. A mixture of T. harzianum with a dicarboximide fungicide resulted in up to 96% control of grey mould. In this case control was always significant ( P =0·05) but improvement of control compared with each treatment alone was not significant ( P =0·05). The alternation of sprays with the biocontrol preparation and with a dicarboximide fungicide was tested in three out of the five experiments and was found to be effective, thus enabling a reduction in the use of chemical sprays. Populations of T. harzianum were on a level of 3 × 105-8 × 105 c.f.u. per leaf and ten times lower on one fruit. They remained high after the second and third sprays. Conditions favouring the ability of T. harzianum to control grey mould were temperatures above 20°C and relative humidity between 80 and 97%.  相似文献

本研究利用室内毒力测定法测定了白术角担菌对8种杀菌剂的敏感性,同时开展田间试验测定了8种杀菌剂对白术根腐病的防治效果。结果表明:50%多菌灵可湿性粉剂、40%五硝·多菌灵可湿性粉剂、30%苯甲·丙环唑乳油和430g/L戊唑醇悬浮剂对角担菌的菌丝抑制率相对较高,EC50均低于10mg/L。田间试验结果表明:末次施药20d后40%五硝·多菌灵可湿性粉剂1 000倍液、50%多菌灵可湿性粉剂1 000倍液、30%苯甲·丙环唑乳油2 000倍液和430g/L戊唑醇悬浮剂3 000倍液的防效均超过58%,而且防效之间无显著性差异,各药剂处理对白术的生长无显著性影响。  相似文献

BACKGROUND: A mixture of trifloxystrobin and tebuconazole is excellent in controlling both powdery and downy mildew of grapes. The objective of the present work was to study the behaviour of trifloxystrobin and tebuconazole on grape berries and soil following treatment with Nativo 75 WG, a formulation containing both fungicides (trifloxystrobin 250 + tebuconazole 500 g kg?1). This study was carried out for planned registration of this mixture for use on grapes in India. RESULTS: Initial residue deposits of trifloxystrobin and tebuconazole on grapes were below their maximum residue limit (MRL) of 0.5 and 2 mg kg?1, respectively, when Nativo 75 WG was applied at the recommended dose of 175 g product ha?1. The residues dissipated gradually to 0.02 and 0.05 mg kg?1 by 30 days, and were below the quantifiable limit of 0.01 mg kg?1 at the time of harvest (60 days after the last treatment). Trifloxystrobin and tebuconazole dissipated at a pre‐harvest interval (PHI) of 36 and 34 days, respectively, from the recommended treatment dose. The acid metabolite of trifloxystrobin, CGA 321 113, was not detected in grape berries at any point in time. Soil at harvest was free of any pesticide residues. CONCLUSION: Residue levels of both trifloxystrobin and tebuconazole were below MRLs when grapes were harvested 30 days after the last of four applications of 175 g product ha?1 (trifloxystrobin 44 g AI ha?1, tebuconazole 88 g AI ha?1) under the semi‐arid tropical climatic conditions of India. Several film-forming polymers reduced the amount of grey mould on various crops in a dew chamber and in a plastic house under natural conditions. The polymers Wilt Pruf, Biofilm and Colfix reduced germination of conidia and germ tube length of Botrytis cinerea . The most effective inhibition of linear growth of the pathogen on potato dextrose agar was obtained by Safe Pack and Biofilm. All polymers significantly reduced grey mould on detached leaves of Capsicum, Phaseolus , tomato, cucumber, rose and pelargonium. Grey mould on rose flowers was not controlled, apparently due to latent infection. The substances Biofilm and Vapor Gard were applied either alone or with chlorothalonil fungicide on cucumber plants in a commercial greenhouse. The polymers had no harmful effect to the host. Disease on senescing female fruits of cucumber was reduced by 46–67% with no additive effect to the mixture with fungicides. Stem infection also was reduced.  相似文献

1·275 dm3 of a l·3g dm?3 aqueous emulsion of permethrin (i.e. 1·658 g permethrin) was applied to the surface of a fast-flowing stream by manual injection. Water samples were collected from the top 1-cm layer at different intervals of time at various distances downstream from the site of application. Caged samples of stream detritus, crayfish, brook trout and stonefly nymphs, bottled sediment and potted aquatic plants were placed 280 m from the treatment site, and collected afterwards for residue analysis. The downstream movement of the chemical was not uniform with peak concentrations of about 12 ng ml?1 at 30 m and 0·1 ng ml?1 at 730 m from the treatment site. The peak concentrations (ng g?1) in potted aquatic plants, caged detritus, crayfish and brook trout were about 18, 39, 14 and 11 respectively. The residues were higher than the ambient water concentration (1·67 ng ml?1) and dissipated slowly. The peak concentration in the bottled sediment was 2·75 ng g?1, and the residues were lost rapidly. In contrast, the naturally occurring sediment in a beaver pond showed high residues that persisted for a longer period of time. Permethrin concentrations in invertebrate drift ranged from 9 to 357 ng g?1, depending on the distance from the application site. The study demonstrated that aquatic invertebrates, plants and stream detritus acted as the major sink for the chemical.  相似文献

Forty-nine greenhouses of vegetable crops were surveyed in southeast Spain at the beginning of the disease season in December 1992 to estimate frequencies of resistance to benzimidazoles, dicarboximides and N -phenylcarbamates (NPC) in B. cinerea . Out of 261 isolates collected, 28% were sensitive to both benzimidazoles and dicarboximides, 15% were benzimidazole-resistant and dicarboximide-sensitive, 8% were benzimidazole-sensitive and dicarboximide-resistant and 46% were benzimidazole- and dicarboximide-resistant. Resistance to benzimidazole, dicarboximide and N -phenylcarbamate was determined by measuring the ability of each isolate to grow in the presence of carbendazim, procymidone and diethofencarb fungicides respectively. Carbendazim- or procymidone- resistant isolates were found in all surveyed greenhouses. Three isolates were found with resistance to carbendazim, procymidone and diethofencarb collected in two adjacent greenhouses that were sprayed with the carbendazim and diethofencarb mixture. All other isolates were sensitive to the mixture because they were either sensitive to carbendazim and resistant to diethofencarb or vice versa. Fitness of 31 isolates of B. cinerea was determined in vivo by measuring their sporulation and lesion growth rate on leaf disks. No fitness costs were associated with resistance to iprodione (dicarboximide) and benomyl (benzimidazole). Isolates with EC50 values higher than 101 mg/L for benomyl and 1.6 mg/L for iprodione were considered to be field resistant (they caused visible lesions on cucumber leaf disks treated with each fungicide).  相似文献

The effects of seven adjuvants (at 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 g litre?1) on the efficacies of four fungicides al 0.5 g litre?1 were studied in the laboratory for the control of leaf-spot in celery (caused by Septoria apiicola) and powdery mildew on winter wheat (caused by Erysiphe graminis). The most effective fungicides for controlling leaf-spot were: tebuconazole + triadimenol = flutriafol > mancozeb + oxadixyl > prochloraz. However, addition of adjuvant to the fungicides gave a modified pattern of effectiveness. The efficacy of flutriafol was strongly enhanced by addition of all adjuvants, but those of prochloraz and mancozeb+oxadixyl only partially so. The tested adjuvants were mineral oil + surfactant, a polymer/alkoxylated alkyl ether blend, an ethoxylated alkylphenol, an ethoxylated hexitan ester blend, an ethoxylated nonylphenol and an alkylpolysaccharide- based adjuvant mixture. However, the addition of adjuvants to tebuconazole + triadimenol had a negative effect. Of all the adjuvants tested, the nonylphenol ethoxylate and a mixture of mineral oil /surfactant and alkylpolysaccharides gave the highest efficacy with the fungicides, while the mineral oil/surfactant and the alkylpolysaccharides alone were less effective. There was a positive relationship between high concentrations of adjuvants and their effectiveness, but there were some exceptions. The most effective fungicides for control of powdery mildew in wheat were prochloraz, mancozeb + oxadixyl and tebuconazole + triadimenol. There was a linear relationship between the high efficacy of the fungicide and the concentration of adjuvants to control powdery mildew in wheat. The highest concentration of adjuvant (2-0 g litre?1) gave the highest efficacy for the fungicides.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Management of early leaf spot (Cercospora arachidicola Hori.), late leaf spot [Cercosporidium personatum (Berk. & MA Curtis) Deighton] and stem rot (Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc.) of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) in the southeastern USA is heavily dependent upon sterol biosynthesis inhibitor (SBI) and quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) fungicides. Effective new fungicides with different modes of action could improve overall disease control and extend the utility of the current fungicides. Penthiopryad is a pyrazole carboxamide fungicide being evaluated for use on peanut. Field experiments were conducted from 2004 to 2007 to determine the effect of a range of rates (0–0.36 kg AI ha?1) of penthiopyrad on leaf spot and stem rot and the relative efficacy of penthiopyrad and current fungicide standards chlorothalonil, tebuconazole and azoxystrobin. RESULTS: Leaf spot control in plots treated with penthiopyrad at 0.20 kg AI ha?1 or higher was similar to or better than that for the chlorothalonil standard. The incidence of stem rot for all penthiopyrad treatments was usually less than that for the tebuconazole or azoxystrobin standard treatments. Pod yields for all penthiopyrad treatments were similar to or higher than those for the respective standards. CONCLUSION: Penthiopyrad has excellent potential for management of late leaf spot and stem rot of peanut, and may complement current SBI and QoI fungicides. BACKGROUND: Cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.) has become a very important non‐traditional tree crop in Ghana. The crop is, however, attacked by sap‐sucking insects, particularly the mosquito bug, Helopeltis schoutedeni Reuter, the leaf‐footed bug, Pseudotheraptus devastans (Dist.), and the coreid bug, Anoplocnemis curvipes (F.), which feed on shoots, panicles and fruits. Their damage is characterised by withering of the latter. In Ghana, Oecophylla longinoda Latr. occurs in large numbers on cashew and other native plants, but little is known about its relationship with insect pests. The relationship between O. longinoda and shoot and panicle damage by sap‐sucking bugs and the effectiveness of O. longinoda as a biocontrol agent in the protection of cashew as compared with two chemical insecticides, lambda‐cyhalothrin (Karate®) and cypermethrin + dimethoate (Cyperdim®), were therefore investigated at Bole in the northern region of Ghana. RESULTS: There was a negative correlation between numbers of O. longinoda nests and pest damage. Trees treated with cypermethrin + dimethoate (969 mg AI mL?1 tree?1) and lambda‐cyhalothrin (100 mg AI mL?1 tree?1) recorded the smallest bug numbers, followed by O. longinoda. Trees infested by Oecophylla longinoda and trees treated with cypermethrin + dimethoate and with lambda‐cyhalothrin had less than 6% pest damage to shoots, panicles and fruits, while water‐sprayed trees recorded damage as high as 36.8% (shoots) in February, 32.9% (panicles) in February and 37.8% (fruits) in March. Cypermethrin + dimethoate again recorded the highest (485.0 kg ha?1) nut yield, followed by O. longinoda (431.0 kg ha?1), with water recording the lowest (93.0 kg ha?1) nut yield. CONCLUSION: The results indicate that O. longinoda can be used to control some sucking bugs as effectively as some insecticides. Copyright © 2008 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献
