Spandex has been successfully applied on modified worsted spinning system to produce spandex core spun yarn. However it’s difficult to produce wool/spandex core-spun yarn on woolen spinning system with the same modified device because the drafting device of the two systems is quite different. A new method is introduced to apply spandex on woolen spinning system in this paper. Core-spun yarn produced in this way has good appearance and quality by comparing with normal yarn. A series of experiments were carried out to study the influence of spandex drafting ratio and yarn twist factor on tensile properties and elasticity of core-spun yarns. The results indicate that core-spun yarn with spandex drawing ratio of 2.5 and twist factor of 13.63 has highest value of tenacity and breaking elongation.  相似文献

Core spun yarns are applied for various purposes that especially require the multi-functional performance. This research reports on the core spinning effect on the yarn strength. We prepared various core yarns by combining different kinds of high tenacity filaments in core with cotton staples in sheath with various twist levels in the ring spin system. And the tensile strength was tested to investigate the contribution of the core-sheath structure to the core yarn strength. The influence of the twist level was also checked up on the relationship between the core-sheath structure and the yarn strength. Results turned out that the core-sheath weight ratio had influence on the tensile properties of the ring core-spun yarns in different ways according to the core filaments used for the yarn. Increasing the twists yielded a monotone decreasing strength for the aramid and the basalt core yarns, while the PET core yarns showed almost unchanged strength, which could be ascribed to the extensional property of the filaments.  相似文献

The effect of strand spacing and twist multiplier on strength of Siro-spun yarns with reference to the yarn structural parameters was investigated. Of the various structural parameters for staple yarns, fiber migration has a crucial influence on the yarn strength, which in turn to a considerable extent is influenced by the strand spacing and twist multiplier. Achieving the objectives of this research, the yarns were produced from lyocell fibers at five strand spacings and four different twist multipliers. Tracer fiber technique combined with image analysis were utilized to study the yarn migration parameters. Afterwards, the yarns were subjected to uniaxial loading by a CRE tensile tester. The measured results are presented in forms of diagrams and tables. The findings reveal that, as strand spacing is increased, yarn tenacity increases up to strand spacing of 8 mm beyond which it reduces. Analysis of the results indicates that the higher tenacity values at the strand spacing of 8 mm can be attributed to the higher mean fiber position, higher migration factor, higher proportion of broken fibers and lower hairiness.  相似文献

In this study, the color and whiteness properties of fabrics knitted from ring, siro and compact core-spun yarns containing metal wire were investigated. In general, an increase in the metal ratio of yarns causes a decrease in the whiteness and color strengths of fabrics. In our study, spinning method had no statistically significant effect on either the T w or K/S values of fabrics while the effect of spinning method on the whiteness index of fabrics was briefly observed. Fabrics knitted from siro spun yarns showed higher whiteness properties than those of fabrics knitted from compact and ring spun yarns. This might be explained by the superior covering effectiveness of the siro spinning method on metal wire.  相似文献

In the paper, one kind of super draft ring spinning frame with four drafting rollers and corresponding three drafting zones were introduced. The yarn qualities spun by the super draft ring spinning frame were analyzed by studying the shape of spinning triangles. Using the high speed camera system OLYMPUS i-speed3 and one kind of transparent front top roller, the spinning triangles were captured, and the geometry size of spinning triangle were measured. Then, according to the theoretical model of fiber tension in the spinning triangle, fiber tension distributions in the spinning triangles were presented by using Matlab software. Using the combed roving of 350 tex as raw material, three kinds of cotton yarns, 27.8 tex (21S), 18.2 tex (32S) and 14.6 tex (40S), were spun in the common ring spinning frame with three different suitable spindle speeds, travelers and twist factors. Using the combed roving of 350 tex and 500 tex as raw material, 14.6 tex cotton yarns were spun in the super draft ring spinning frame with three different drafting ratios at back zone. It is shown that with the increasing of spindle speed, a more asymmetric shape of spinning triangle would be produced, and lead to worsen yarn evenness. With the decreasing of traveler weight, the height and horizontal deviation of the spinning triangle is decreased, and may lead to better yarn evenness and less long hairiness. By taking suitable large yarn twist factors, the comprehensive qualities can be improved. Comparing with the common ring spinning, the spinning triangle is larger in the super draft ring spinning. That is, in the super draft ring spinning, the fibers in the strand in the front roller nip are more dispersed, and not benefit for yarn qualities. Therefore, the compact device was introduced into the super draft ring spinning, and the cotton pure yarns and blend yarns were spun, and the yarn qualities were measured and analyzed.  相似文献

A low torque spinning method has been recently developed by integrating the ring spinning process with false twisting techniques. As a result of false twist and true twist, a novel single yarn of low torque and soft handle is generated. Based on the similar spinning principle, this paper proposed a 2-step spinning method, which is composed of twisting-anduntwisting operation and can be considered as a variant of the low torque spinning method. The proposed spinning method separates the false twisting process into twisting and untwisting processes which are combined in one step in the low torque spinning method. In this paper, physical properties of yarns produced by the proposed spinning method were evaluated and compared with the conventional yarns. Influences of various spinning parameters on the properties of 2-step yarns were also examined. Furthermore, a systematic study of the physical properties of the 2-step yarns and resultant fabrics with respect to the conventional and low torque ones was carried out. The experimental results showed that the 2-step yarns exhibit slightly higher tenacity, lower wet snarl and much less hairiness than the conventional yarns, which, however, are inferior to the low torque yarns, particularly the evenness. The fabrics made by the 2-step yarns show the softest handle feeling, best airpermeability and moderate spirality angle with acceptable pilling resistance.  相似文献

This study was focus on the influence of filament and roving location on yarn properties during embeddable and locatable spinning (ELS). ELS composite yarns were produced with various filament and roving locations on an experimental ring spinning frame. Besides yarn formation zone configurations, ELS yarn properties were compared including yarn hairiness, unevenness and tensile properties. Results showed that spinning triangles became larger; however, the reinforced composite spinning strand length kept constant. With a constant filament-roving spacing on each side of ELS, Filament spacing variations caused no significant changes of spun yarn hairiness, tenacities, imperfections and unevenness CV. For roving location variations with constant filament spacing, the reinforced strand length became longer as the roving spacing increased. Hairs exceeding 3 mm were lower for ELS yarn spun with 4 mm and 10 mm roving spacings than that spun with 6 mm, 8 mm and 12 mm roving spacings. Roving spacing variations had a trivial influence on ELS yarn unevenness; whereas, yarn tensile index variation coefficients fluctuated dramatically due to hairiness variations for different roving spacings.  相似文献

Continuously twisted polyacrylonitrile/viscose nanofiber core-spun yarns were fabricated through novel self-designed multi-nozzle air jet electrospinning set-up. The effect of voltage, solution flow rate, air flow rate and funnel rotating speed on coating rate of core-spun yarn, nanofiber diameter, twist level and mechanical property were discussed. The results showed that polyacrylonitrile/viscose nanofiber core-spun yarns with perfect nanofiber orientation and uniform twist distribution could be obtained at voltage of 32 KV, solution flow rate of 32 ml/min and air flow rate of 1000 ml/min, and the spinning speed could reach to 235.5 cm/min. The diameters of outer coated nanofiber distributed from 100 nm to 300 nm, and nanofiber coating rate could reach to 70.4 %. In addition, the strength and elongation at break increased from 30.82 MPa to 69.65 MPa and from 28.34 % to 43.29 % at the twist angle of 46.6 °, respectively.  相似文献

The mechanical and physical properties of spun yarns and fabrics depend not only on properties of constituent fibers, but also the yarn structure characterized by geometrical arrangement of fibers in the yarn body. Although there are many studies related to analyzing the migratory properties of spun yarns, there are no studies available about predicting yarn migration parameters. Therefore, the main aim of this research is to introduce a new approach to predict migratory properties of different kinds of spun yarns, namely siro, solo, compact and conventional ring-spun yarns. To achieve the objectives of the research, general physical and mechanical properties of spun yarns together with existing standards were thoroughly studied. Spun yarn migratory properties were predicted using intelligent technique of artificial neural network (ANN). Results signified that the ANN models can predict precisely the yarn migratory properties on the basis of a series of yarn physical and mechanical properties.  相似文献

Murata vortex spinning system is based on the air jet spinning system. The vast majority of previous works deal with the properties of vortex spun (VS) yarn and the spinning system. In this study, we investigated knitted fabrics from VS yarn in comparison with fabrics from ring (RS), compact (CS) and open-end rotor (OES) spun yarns made from viscose. The effect of yarn spinning system on dimensional and physical properties of knitted fabrics was explained with specific attention to fabrics from VS yarn. Shrinkage of fabrics from VS yarn has the lowest at widthwise direction, while having the highest at lengthwise direction. It is shown that the order of fabric spirality and twist liveliness for yarns from different spinning systems are quite similar. However, relation between loop shape factor and angle of spirality is inconsistent. Angle of spirality of fabrics from VS yarn is higher than fabrics from OES yarn, but lower than that of others. The bursting strength of fabrics from VS yarn is lower than that of those from RS and CS yarns and higher than that of those from OES yarn. From this study, it is also evident that fabrics from VS yarn have the lowest pilling tendency and highest resistance to abrasion.  相似文献

The intrinsic torque of freshly spun wool yarns is affected by ageing of wool roving prior to spinning as well as the storage time of the yarn after spinning. The effect of physical ageing of roving on yarn torque properties has not been observed before and this study shows that the yarn intrinsic torque increases with ageing of the roving and decreases or relaxes with the yarn storage time. The dependency of the intrinsic torque on the roving ageing time and the yarn storage time after spinning show a simple double-logarithmic shift factor of 0.42 compared with the value of 1 found generally for amorphous polymeric materials. The self-plying twist of the yarns used in this study shows a close link to the intrinsic torque and both are affected by the history of the roving prior to spinning. Significant reductions in the self-plying twist were obtained when deaged rovings were used in spinning. When self-plying twist is used as a predictor of fabric spirality the roving and yarn history needs to be considered. This study shows that low intrinsic torque yarns can be produced by deageing of the roving prior to spinning.  相似文献

Coconut fibres were subjected to chemical treatment to obtain softer and finer fibres, suitable to blend with other finer fibre like jute. The chemical softening recipe was optimized using Box-Behnken design of experiments as 40 % Na2S, 10 % NaOH and 6 % Na2CO3, which notably reduced the fineness (33 %) and flexural rigidity (74 %) and improved tensile property of coconut fibre. Effect of softening of coconut fibre on its process performance was studied in high speed mechanized spinning system at different blend ratios with jute. Blending with jute assists in spinning of coconut fibre to produce yarn of 520 tex at production rate of 5-6 kg/h, as compared to 15 kg/day for hand spun 5300 tex raw coconut fibre yarn in manual system. Analysis of blended yarn structure in terms of packing density, radial distribution of fiber components (SEM) and mass irregularity were investigated. SEM shows yarns made from softened coconut fibre -jute blends are more compact than raw coconut fibre -jute blend yarns. Coconut fibres were preferentially migrated to core of the yarn. Major yarn properties viz., tensile strength, and flexural rigidity of raw and chemically softened blended yarns were compared against their finest possible 100 % coconut fibre yarn properties. Yarn made up to 50:50 chemically softened coconut fibre-jute blend showed much better spinning performance, and having superior property in terms of reduced diameter, higher compactness, strength, initial modulus and less flexural rigidity than 100 % raw, 100 % chemically softened coconut fibre rope, and raw coconut fibre-jute blend yarns.  相似文献

Spandex fibers have superior stretch and elastic recovery ability. Composite yarns containing spandex are frequently used to manufacture elastic textile products and accessories. We have developed a composite yarn spinning system that produces different kinds of composite yarns containing spandex on a modified open-end rotor spinning frame. By changing the twisting parameter of composite yarns, we studied the structure and properties of rotor-spun composite yarns with spandex. The results indicate that the twisting parameter has great influence on the structure and properties of rotor-spun composite yarns with spandex. The linear density of spandex filament has influence on the properties of composite yarns too. In comparison with normal rotor-spun yarn, the appearance of composite yarns is clearer, the structure is much tighter, and the properties are improved.  相似文献

The effect of cashmere yarn twist, knitted fabric density, and cashmere properties on pilling rates of cashmere knitted fabric is investigated in this paper. The experimental results show that yarn twist and fabric density have little influence on pilling rates of cashmere knitted fabric for yarn 38.4 tex/2 when yarn twist varies from 234 T/m to 272 T/m, and the fabric density is 9.7, 10.7, and 11.2 yarns/inch, respectively. The length of cashmere fiber, in particular less than 7.5 mm, is responsible for the pilling rates of cashmere knitted fabric based on optimal scaling regression analysis.  相似文献

Yarn tension is a key factor that affects the efficiency of a ring spinning system. In this paper, a specially constructed rig, which can rotate a yarn at a high speed without inserting any real twist into the yarn, was used to simulate a ring spinning process. Yarn tension was measured at the guide-eye during the simulated spinning of different yarns at various balloon heights and with varying yarn length in the balloon. The effect of balloon shape, yarn hairiness and thickness, and yarn rotating speed, on the measured yarn tension, was examined. The results indicate that the collapse of balloon shape from single loop to double loop, or from double loop to triple etc, lead to sudden reduction in yarn tension. Under otherwise identical conditions, a longer length of yarn in the balloon gives a lower yarn tension at the guide-eye. In addition, thicker yarns and/or more hairy yarns generate a higher tension in the yarn, due to the increased air drag acting on the thicker or more hairy yarns.  相似文献

Yarn structure plays an important role in determining the properties of spun yarns. Recently, a modified spinning technique has been developed for producing a low torque and soft handle singles yarn by modifying the fiber arrangement in a yarn. Comparative studies revealed that the finer modified yarns possess significantly higher strength and lower hairiness over the conventional yarns of the same twist level, implying a different structure of finer modified yarn. Thus this paper aims to quantitatively study the structures of the finer conventional and modified cotton yarn (80 Ne) produced at the same twist level. Various measuring techniques, namely the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), cross section technique and tracer fiber technique, are adopted to analyze their structural characteristics, including fiber configuration, fiber spatial orientation angle, fiber packing density, yarn surface appearance, and fiber migration behavior. Results showed that finer modified yarns exhibit a smoother surface and much more compact structure with less hairiness. The fibers in the finer modified yarn have a complicated fiber path with relatively lower fiber radial position, larger migration frequency and magnitudes. In addition, it was noted that 73% of fibers in the finer conventional yarn follow concentric conical helix, which is contrary to those in the coarser conventional yarn. The analyses conducted in this paper provide deep insights into the mechanism of modified spinning technique and evidential explanations on the difference of properties between the finer conventional and modified yarns.  相似文献

Delamination is the most common failure mode in laminated composites, due to the reduced strength in the through-the-thickness direction. This paper describes the development of core-and-effect textured glass yarns for improving the bonding strength of laminated glass woven fabric composites. Air-jet texturing introduces bulk and loops in the yarn which provides more contact surface between the fibers and the resin. However, the yarn tenacity decreases after texturing because of the reduced alignment of the filaments. The effects of texturing air pressure, yarn overfeed ratio, yarn linear density and core-sheath ratio were studied in this paper. The tenacity of glass yarns decreased significantly after the texturing process. The reduction was smaller for yarns with a higher core linear density. The effects of texturing air pressure on the tenacity were found to be insignificant.  相似文献

Dimensional changes of single jersey fabrics made from LincLITE® and conventional yarns (39 tex and 48 tex) with different twist factors and fabric tightness factors are investigated under dry-, steam- and full- relaxation treatments. Results showed that linear and area shrinkages, fabric density and stitch density values were affected by tightness factors, relaxation treatment, yarn twist and feeder blending. Generally, higher length shrinkages and width increases were reported with LincLITE® and conventional fabrics. Tightness factors and twist factors significantly affected LincLITE® and insignificantly affected conventional fabrics in concern of change of shape and area shrinkages. Thus, fabric density values and reciprocal of stitch lengths showed linear correlations with intercepts, which decreased on full relaxation. Also, it showed higher regression correlation coefficient factors from LincLITE® and conventional fabrics.  相似文献

Dimensional constants (k values) of single jersey fabrics made from LincLITE® and conventional yarns are calculated under dry, steam, full relaxation treatments. Fabrics were made under different tightness factors such as high, medium and low with different twist factors, twist directions and feeder blending. LincLITE® yarns made to get soft and bulkier effects with yarn count of 39 tex and conventional yarns made into 39 tex and 48 tex yarn counts. Various effects on K values are analysed using correlation coefficients. K-values are increased with relaxation progression and have shown some differences between in LincLITE® and conventional fabrics, and feeder blended fabrics. Loop shape factor is highly affected by tightness factor, relaxation and feeder blending in LincLITE® fabrics, whereas twist factor not significantly effects on loop shape factor in conventional fabrics. Stitch density significantly increases with relaxation in conventional fabrics and no significant effect shows with LincLITE® fabrics.  相似文献

Reduction of yarn hairiness by nozzles in ring spinning and winding is a new approach. Simulation of the airflow pattern inside the nozzles provides useful information about actual mechanism of hairiness reduction. The swirling air current inside the nozzles is capable of wrapping the protruding hairs around the yarn body, thereby reducing yarn hairiness. Since production rate of winding is very high and the process itself increases yarn hairiness any method to reduce the hairiness of yarns at this stage is a novel approach. A CFD (computational fluid dynamics) model has been developed to simulate the airflow pattern inside the nozzles using Fluent 6.1 software. In this study, both S- and Z-type nozzles having an axial angle of 50° and diameter of 2.2 mm were used for simulation studies. To create a swirling effect, four air holes of 0.4 mm diameter are made tangential to the inner walls of the nozzles. S- and Z-twisted yarns of 30 tex were spun with and without nozzles and were tested for hairiness, tensile and evenness properties. The total number of hairs equal to or exceeding 3 mm (i.e. the S3 values) for yarn spun with nozzle is nearly 49–51 % less than that of ring yarns in case of nozzle-ring spinning, and 15 % less in case of nozzle-winding, while both the yarn types show little difference in evenness and tensile properties. Upward airflow gives best results in terms of hairiness reduction for nozzle-ring and nozzle wound yarns compared to ring yarns. Yarn passing through the centre of the nozzle shows maximum reduction in S3 values.  相似文献
