Cd accumulation in the grain of wheat cultivars grown on soils at seven experimental sites in the Austrian wheat zone was significantly affected by soil chemical characteristics and by cultivar. Multiple linear regression analyses indicate that about 80% of the variation in Cd accumulation may be explained by cultivar. total soil Cd, and organic carbon (OC). An additional 10% of the variation was correlated with Cl? and Ca2+ in the soil solution. Uptake of Cd increased with higher soil Cd content and higher Cl? concentrations in soil solution, but decreased at higher levels of OC and soluble Ca. Cd accumulation varied by a factor of up to 2.5 among cultivars. The highest Cd accumulation was found in some spring durum cultivars in soils containing relatively low total Cd (< 0.4 mg kg?1); at some sites the maximum permissible Cd concentrations in wheat grain (0.1 mg kg?1) was exceeded according to German regulations. Selecting low Cd-accumulating cultivars and adjusting soil chemical conditions may provide alternatives to reduce Cd intake in human diet.  相似文献

Abstract

Paddy soils of over 500 hectares had been polluted by arsenic (As) from tailings at an abandoned lead‐zinc mine at Shaoxing, Zhejiang, China. Several field experiments were conducted to establish measures for reducing As toxicity to rice plants. The results obtained were as follows. Fresh Chinese milkvetch (Astragalus sinicus L.) was not supposed to be used as green manure in arsenic polluted paddy soils. Although liming (1,500 kg CaO hectare‐1) could reduce water‐soluble As (H2O‐As) in the soil, the rice plant grew badly. The treatments of FeCl3 (25 mg Fe kg‐1 soil) and MnO2 (25 mg Mn kg‐1 soil) could markedly lower the H2O‐As and arsenite [As(III)] percentage in the soil and make the plant grow better than the control experiment (CK). Without adding any materials to the soil, wetting and drying (furrowing and draining) in the paddy soil could increase soil redox potential greatly and lower the H2O‐As and As(III) percentage obviously leading to better rice growth. In addition, the As contents of roots, flag leaf, grain, and husked rice of 11 new cultivare of early rice were determined and correlation analysis was conducted. Uptake and accumulation of As in different parts of cultivars Zhefu‐802 and Erjiufeng at the 4 As levels of the paddy soil demonstrated that the As contents in husked rice of both cultivars exceeded the hygienic standard (0.7 mg As kg‐1) when they grew in the paddy soil having total As content of about 70 mg kg‐1 for Zhefu‐802 and 100 mg kg‐1 for Erjiufeng, respectively.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Considerable variation exists among wheat cultivars for phosphorus (P) acquisition and utilization to produce higher yields. We investigated critical P requirements for optimum grain yield of two wheat cultivars contrasting in P-use efficiency, i.e., NIA-Sunder (P-efficient) and NIA-Saarang (P-inefficient). Grain yield, P accumulation, and other P-efficiency relations of both cultivars increased with progressive addition of P, but at variable rates. NIA-Sunder exhibited higher grain yield, grain P concentration, harvest index, and P-use efficiency at all P levels as compared to NIA-Saarang. Internal P requirement for achieving 95% relative grain yield in NIA-Sunder and NIA-Saarang was obtained when P concentration in their grains was 4.07 and 3.48 mg g?1 recorded at external P levels of 57.2 and 78.1 mg kg?1 soil, respectively. Overall, NIA-Sunder accumulated 15% more grain P and required 27% less external P for attaining 95% relative yield than P-inefficient cultivar. Results suggested that internal and external P requirements aiming at optimum grain yield are associated with genotypic variations in wheat cultivars for P-utilization efficiency.  相似文献

Cadmium (Cd) is a common impurity in phosphate fertilizers and application of phosphate fertilizer may contribute to soil Cd accumulation. Changes in Cd burdens to agricultural soils and the potential for plant Cd accumulation resulting from fertilizer input were investigated in this study. A field experiment was conducted on Haplaquept to investigate the influence of calcium superphosphate on extractable and total soil Cd and on growth and Cd uptake of different Komatsuna (Brassica rapa L. var. perviridis) cultivars. Four cultivars of Komatsuna were grown on the soil and harvested after 60 days. The superphosphate application increased total soil Cd from 2.51 to 2.75?mg?kg?1, 0.1?mol?L?1 hydrochloric acid (HCl) extractable Cd from 1.48 to 1.55?mg?kg?1, 0.01?mol?L?1 HCl extractable Cd from 0.043 to 0.046?mg?kg?1 and water extractable Cd from 0.0057 to 0.0077?mg?kg?1. Cd input reached 5.68?g?ha–1 at a rate of 240?kg?ha–1 superphosphate fertilizer application. Superphosphate affected dry-matter yield of leaves to different degrees in each cultivar. ‘Nakamachi’ produced the highest yield in 2008 and ‘Hamami No. 2’ in 2009. Compared with the control (no phosphate fertilizer), application of superphosphate at a rate of 240?kg?ha–1 increased the Cd concentration in dry leaves by 0.14?mg?kg?1 in ‘Maruha’, 1.03?mg?kg?1 in ‘Nakamachi’, 0.63?mg?kg?1 in ‘SC8-007’ in 2008, and by 0.19?mg?kg?1 in Maruha’, 0.17?mg?kg?1 in ‘Hamami No. 2’, while it decreased by 0.27?mg?kg?1 in ‘Nakamachi’ in 2009. Field experiments in two years demonstrated that applications of different levels of calcium superphosphate did not influence Cd concentration in soil and Komatsuna significantly. However, there was a significant difference in Cd concentration of fresh and dry Komatsuna leaves among four cultivars in 2008 and 2009. The highest Cd concentration was found in the ‘Nakamachi’ cultivar (2.14?mg?kg?1 in 2008 and 1.91?mg?kg?1 in 2009). The lowest Cd concentration was observed in the ‘Maruha’ cultivar (1.51?mg?kg?1?dry weight (DW)) in 2008 and in the ‘Hamami No. 2’ cultivar (1.56?mg?kg?1?DW) in 2009. A decreasing trend in Cd concentration was found in ‘Nakamachi’, followed by ‘SC8-007’, ‘Hamami No. 2’ and ‘Maruha’ successively. It is necessary to consider a low-uptake cultivar for growing in a Cd polluted soil. In these two years’ results, ‘Maruha’ cultivar was the lowest Cd uptake cultivar compared to the others.  相似文献

Yellow lupin (Lupinus luteus L.) and narrow-leafed lupin (L. angustifolius L.) are grown as grain legumes in rotation with spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) on acidic sandy soils of south-western Australia. Yellow lupin can accumulate significantly larger cadmium (Cd) concentrations in grain than narrow-leafed lupin. A glasshouse experiment was undertaken to test whether adding increasing zinc (Zn) levels to soil increased Zn uptake by yellow lupin reducing accumulation of Cd in yellow lupin grain. Two cultivars of yellow lupin (cv. ‘Motiv’ and ‘Teo’) and 1 cultivar of narrow-leafed lupin (cv. ‘Gungurru’) were used. The soil was Zn deficient for grain production of both yellow and narrow-leafed lupin, but had low levels of native soil Cd (total Cd <0.05 mg kg?1) so 1.6 mg Cd pot?1, as a solution of cadmium chloride (CdCl2·H2O), was added and mixed through the soil. Eight Zn levels (0–3.2 mg Zn pot?1), as solutions of zinc sulfate (ZnSO4·7H2O), were added and evenly mixed through the soil. Yellow lupin accumulated 0.16 mg Cd kg?1 in grain when no Zn was applied, which decreased as increasing Zn levels were applied to soil, with ~0.06 mg Cd kg?1 in grain when the largest level of Zn (3.2 mg Zn pot?1) was applied. Low Cd concentrations (<0.016 mg Cd kg?1) were measured in narrow-leafed lupin grain regardless of the Zn treatment. When no Zn was applied, yellow lupin produced ~2.3 times more grain than narrow-leafed lupin, indicating yellow lupin was better at acquiring and using indigenous Zn from soil for grain production. Yellow lupin required about half as much applied Zn as narrow-leafed lupin to produce 90% of the maximum grain yield, ~0.8 mg pot?1 Zn compared with ~1.5 mg Zn pot?1. Zn concentration in whole shoots of young plants (eight leaf growth stage) related to 90% of the maximum grain yield (critical prognostic concentration) was (mg Zn kg?1) 25 for both yellow lupin cultivars and 19 for the narrow-leafed lupin cultivar. Critical Zn concentration in grain related to 90% of maximum grain yield was (mg Zn kg?1) 24 for both yellow lupin cultivars compared with 20 for the narrow-leafed lupin cultivar.  相似文献

In a greenhouse experiment, wheat cultivars PDW 291, PBW 550, and TL 2908 were grown in alkaline sandy-loam soil treated with sodium selenate at 0, 2, and 4 mg selenium (Se) kg?1 soil. Selenate-treated wheat plants accumulated greater Se in roots, stems, leaves, and grains and showed growth retardation, snow-white chlorosis, decreased shoot length and chlorophyll, and reduced leaf area and produced less number of grains as compared to control plants. Maximum reduction in these parameters was observed in selenate-treated TL 2908 plants and most of the plants died before maturity with almost no grain formation with 4 mg Se kg?1 soil. Selenium accumulation resulted in decreased reducing sugar, starch, and protein contents in grains whereas total free amino acids increased significantly in all the three cultivars. Selenium accumulation in wheat showed metabolic disturbances and its accumulation in grains was beyond toxic levels, thus making it unfit for consumption.  相似文献

This study evaluated the effects of phosphorus (P) fertilizer levels on inorganic P fractions. Wheat cultivars (Azadi and Marvdasht) were grown in the soils amended with the four rates of P fertilizer levels (no fertilizer, 10, 15, and 25 mg available P kg?1 soil). Soils were sampled from rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere areas after 6 weeks. The mean of all P fractions was significantly different in various P fertilizer levels. The smallest and the largest amounts of all P fractions were observed in the soil with no P and in 25 mg kg?1 soil P level, respectively. The Azadi cultivar, as P-efficient, showed the smallest increase in soil P fractions with increasing soil P levels. The means of all P fractions except Al-phosphates (Al-P) were significantly higher in non-rhizosphere soil. There were differences between these cultivars associated with the more inaccessible fractions at the 15 mg P kg?1 soil level.  相似文献

Abstract

Phosphorus status of Bangladesh paddy soils covering the major paddy soil types was assessed in terms of parent materials and physiography. Total P concentration ranged from 172 to 604 mg kg?1 in the topsoil and from 126 to 688 mg kg?1 in the subsoil, and varied with the physiography to which the soils belonged. In most soils, the available P concentration was much higher for the topsoil than for the subsoil. The inorganic P concentration was higher than the organic P concentration, except for one soil series from the Old Himalayan Piedmont Plain, and was significantly and positively correlated with the total P concentration. Among the inorganic forms, only the concentration of Al-bound P showed a significant correlation with that of available P based on the Bray P-2 method in both topsoil and subsoil. In general, the P status was critically low in paddy soils of the terrace area. Normal growth of paddy rice in this area is expected to be difficult without application of P fertilizer.  相似文献

选取有机质含量和pH不同的2种水稻土(黄泥田和红泥田),通过盆栽实验研究砷(As)污染条件下,种植9个水稻品种对土壤溶解性有机碳(DOC)和溶解性有机氮(DON)含量的影响,分析水稻品种、As污染和土壤类型的相对影响与交互作用.结果表明,水稻品种显著影响了土壤DOC和DON的变化,在水稻收获后,DOC平均含量的大小顺序为杂交稻(41.09±0.92 mg kg-1)>籼稻(38.10±1.53 mg kg-1)>粳稻(37.74± 1.37 mg kg-1);DON平均含量的大小顺序为粳稻(2.94± 0.40 mg kg-1)>杂交稻(2.61±0.42 mg kg-1)>籼稻(1.45± 0.17 mg kg-1).As污染降低了土壤DOC和DON的含量,但不同品种水稻的响应不同.与对照相比,As污染条件下,黄泥田和红泥田中DOC平均含量分别下降了14.4%和11.1%,DON平均含量分别下降了65.0%和44.7%;DOC在种植杂交稻后降幅最小,而DON在种植籼稻后降幅最小.在两种水稻土中,黄泥田的DOC和DON平均含量高于红泥田,在没有As污染条件下,分别高22.4%和45.8%,这与黄泥田有机质含量和pH高有关.水稻品种、As污染和土壤类型对DOC和DON变化的影响不同,3个因子对DOC变化的相对贡献率分别为7.7%、15.5%和27.6%,对DON变化的相对贡献率分别为14.7%、24.2%和2.0%.  相似文献

Abstract

In Vietnam, the Co Dinh mine is the largest chromite mine in the country. Mining, ore dressing and disposal of the tailings provide obvious sources of heavy metal contamination in the mine area. The present study examined the influence of chromite mining activities on the adjacent lowland paddy field by investigating heavy metal and As levels in the mine tailings, sediments, paddy soils and water. At paddy fields located near the mine tailings, the total contents of Cr, Co and Ni were 5,750, 375 and 5,590?mg?kg?1, and the contents of their water-extractable form were 12.7, 1.16 and 32.3?mg?kg?1, respectively. These results revealed severe contamination of lowland paddy soils with Cr, Co and Ni as a result of mining activity, suggesting serious health hazards through agricultural products, including livestock in this area. The principal source of the pollution was sediment inflow owing to the collapse of the dike, which was poorly constructed by heaping up soil. Moreover, water flowing out from the mining area was also polluted with Cr and Ni (15.0–41.0 and 20.0–135?μg?L?1, respectively). This might raise another problem of heavy metal pollution of watercourses in the area, indicating the need for further investigation and monitoring of fluctuations of water quality with seasonal changes.  相似文献

Field studies were conducted to assess boron (B) requirement, critical concentrations in diagnostic parts based on yield response curves and genotypic variation by growing three peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) cultivars (‘Golden’, ‘BARD-479’, ‘BARI-2000’) on two B-deficient calcareous soils. Boron application significantly increased pod yield of all the cultivars over control. Maximum pod yield increases were: ‘Golden’, 16?23%; ‘BARD-479’, 21?27%; and ‘BARI-2000’, 25?31%. The cultivars varied in B efficiency and cv. ‘Golden’ was the most B efficient (81?86%) while cv. ‘BARI-2000’ was the least efficient (76?80%). Boron requirements for near-maximum (95%) dry pod yield were 0.65 kg ha?1 for ‘Golden’, 0.75 kg ha?1 for BARD-479 and 0.80 kg ha?1 for BARI-2000. Critical B concentrations in shoots and seeds were: ‘Golden’, 33 mg kg?1 and 26 mg kg?1; ‘BARD-479’, 38 mg kg?1 and 31 mg kg?1; and ‘BARI-2000’, 42 mg kg?1 and 33 mg kg?1.  相似文献

Abstract

Iron deficiency in humans is the most prevalent micronutrient deficiency worldwide. To screen for high Fe cultivar, genotypic variation in Fe concentration of barley grain was investigated in two collections of barley: 274 standard varieties selected at the Barley Germplasm Center of the Research Institute for Bioresources, Okayama University (SV) and 135 varieties from the Barley Core Collection of Americas (BCCAM). The Fe concentration of barley grain showed large variation, ranging from 24.6 to 63.3 mg kg?1 in SV, from 21.0 to 83.0 mg kg?1 in BCCAM barleys. The Fe concentration was not affected by the key characters of barley varieties, kernel row types, and hulled or hull-less. The Fe concentration was also not related to the place of origin of the barley variety. About 90% of total Fe was localized in the grain without hull. These results provide fundamental data for breeding Fe-rich cultivars and for studying the mechanisms involved in genotypic variation in Fe concentration.  相似文献

Purpose

Water management affects the bioavailability of cadmium (Cd) and arsenic (As) in the soil and hence their accumulation in rice grains and grain yields. However, Cd and As show opposite responses to soil water content, but information, particularly on irrigation, is missing on a field scale. The purpose of the present study was therefore to find a water management regime that can lower accumulation of both Cd and As in grain without yield loss.

Materials and methods

Two rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivars, A16 and A159, with different grain Cd accumulation capacities were employed in field plot experiments with four water management regimes comprising aerobic, intermittent, conventional practice and flooded. The dynamics of Cd and As bioavailability in the soil and Cd and As concentrations in roots, straw and grains were determined at the early tillering, full tillering, panicle initiation, filling and maturity stages of crop growth.

Results and discussion

The lower water content regimes (aerobic and intermittent) mostly led to higher soil HCl-extractable Cd than the higher soil water content regimes (conventional and flooded). HCl-extractable As in contrast was favoured by the higher soil water content treatments. Conventional and flooded irrigation accordingly gave higher plant As concentrations but lower Cd compared to aerobic and intermittent irrigation. Cd concentrations in roots and straw of both varieties increased with growth stage, especially in aerobic and intermittent regimes, while As concentrations in plants showed little change or a slight decrease. As the water irrigation volume increased from aerobic to flooded, brown rice Cd decreased from 1.15 to 0.02 mg?kg?1 in cultivar A16 and from 1.60 to 0.05 mg?kg?1 in cultivar A159, whereas brown rice As increased. Aerobic and flooded treatments produced approximately 10–20 % lower grain yields than intermittent and conventional treatments. Cultivars with low Cd accumulation capacity show higher brown rice grain As than those with high Cd uptake capacity.

Conclusions

Of the four water management regimes, the conventional irrigation method (flooding maintained until full tillering followed by intermittent irrigation) ensured high yield with low Cd and As in the brown rice and so remains the recommended irrigation regime.  相似文献

A pot experiment with 38 commonly cultivated rice cultivars from the Yangtze River Delta was conducted in a greenhouse to study the effect of mercury (Hg) contamination of a paddy soil (4.7 mg Hg [kg soil]–1) on crop growth and Hg accumulation in the grains. Mercury contamination differentially affected growth, grain yield, and Hg accumulation in brown rice of the tested cultivars. The average Hg concentration in the grains was significantly higher (p < 0.01) when plants were grown in the Hg‐contaminated compared to the control soil. Averaged over cultivars, the Hg concentration in brown rice exceeded the maximum permissible limit of 20 μg Hg kg–1. Increasing Hg concentrations were associated with grain‐yield declines up to 70%. This yield decline was mainly due to a reduction in the number of panicles. Japonica cultivars tended to be generally less affected by Hg than indica cultivars. The two japonica cultivars Jiahua and Chunjiang 026 showed both low Hg concentrations and no Hg‐induced grain‐yield reduction. These cultivars may be preferred candidates for cultivation in Hg‐contaminated soils or for studies on possible Hg‐exclusion mechanisms.  相似文献

Abstract

Pot studies were conducted to study effect of the boron (B) levels (0, 0.12, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.0, 2.0 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 10?mg?B?kg?1) and calcium carbonate (CaCO3) (0, 1.25, 2.5 and 5.0%) on cotton and wheat crops in cropping system. In absence of CaCO3, reduced growth of cotton and wheat were observed when B was applied @ 2.0?mg?kg?1 soil. Necrosis of leaves in cotton and purple coloration of plumule in wheat was observed @ 10.0?mg?B?kg?1. Irrespective of CaCO3, 0.57 and 7.67?mg?kg?1 Hot Water Soluble B (HWS-B), 62 and 940?mg?kg?1 B dry matter (DM) of leaves, 45 and 210?mg?B?kg?1 DM of petioles and 20 and 51?mg?B?kg?1 DM of sticks, produced 90 and 50%of the maximum dry matter yield (DMY) of cotton, respectively. The values for wheat were 0.66 and 6.71?mg HWS-B kg?1, 7.94 and 27.0?mg?B?kg?1 grain and 15.3 and 170?mg?B?kg?1 straw, respectively.  相似文献

Abstract

Rice is a plant that requires high levels of silica (Si). As a silicate (SiO2) source to rice, coal fly ash (hereafter, fly ash), which has an alkaline pH and high available silicate and boron (B) contents, was mixed with phosphor‐gypsum (hereafter, gypsum, 50%, wt wt?1), a by‐product from the production of phosphate fertilizer, to improve the fly ash limitation. Field experiments were carried out to evaluate the effect of the mixture on soil properties and rice (Oryza sativa) productivity in silt loam (SiL) and loamy sand (LS) soils to which 0 (FG 0), 20 (FG 20), 40 (FG 40), and 60 (FG 60) Mg ha?1 were added. The mixture increased the amount of available silicate and exchangeable calcium (Ca) contents in the soils and the uptake of silicate by rice plant. The mixture did not result in accumulation of heavy metals in soil and an excessive uptake of heavy metals by the rice grain. The available boron content in soil increased with the mixture application levels up to 1.42 mg kg?1 following the application of 60 Mg ha?1 but did not show toxicity. The mixture increased significantly rice yield and showed the highest yields following the addition of 30–40 Mg ha?1 in two soils. It is concluded that the fly ash and gypsum mixture could be a good source of inorganic soil amendments to restore the soil nutrient balance in rice paddy soil.  相似文献

Abstract

A pot experiment was conducted to study the interaction effects of phosphorus and copper on wheat. The soils used were calcareous loamy sand (ls) and non calcareous sandy loam (sl). Four levels of Cu (0, 5, 10 and 20?mg Cu kg?1 soil) and six levels of P (0, 25, 50, 100, 200 and 400?mg P kg?1 soil) were applied in all possible combinations with three replications. Soil pH decreased with Cu application while Olsen P increased with P application in both soils. Growth and yield of wheat improved significantly with graded levels of applied P. However, when any level of P was combined with 20?mg Cu kg?1 soil, severe iron chlorosis of leaves, a drastic reduction in growth and chlorophyll content was observed in calcareous ls only. The results indicated that it was Cu and not P that induced Fe deficiency in wheat grown in alkaline calcareous soil and the Cu requirement of the crop seemed to be much lower in the calcareous ls. Root dry matter, grain and straw yield decreased with increasing levels of applied Cu in ls but in sl maximum increase of 62.5, 74.3 and 63.7 per cent in root, grain and straw yield was observed with a combined application of 400?mg P and 5?mg Cu kg?1 soil over control. Accumulation of Cu in roots decreased the Fe absorption by roots which indicated that Fe chlorosis of wheat leaves is expected when Cu: Fe concentration ratio in root is > 0.30.  相似文献

There is a need for rice cultivars with high yields and nitrogen (N) use efficiency (NUE), but with low cadmium (Cd) accumulation in Cd-contaminated paddy soils. To determine the relative effects of rice genotype, soil type, and Cd addition on rice grain yield and NUE, a pot experiment consisting of nine rice cultivars was conducted in two types of paddy soils, red soil (RS) and yellow soil (YS), without or with Cd spiked at 0.6 mg kg-1. The N supply was from both soil organic N pools and N fertilizers; thus, NUE was defined as the grain yield per unit of total crop-available N in the soil. Cd addition decreased grain yield and NUE in most rice cultivars, which was mainly related to reduced N uptake efficiency (NpUE, defined as the percentage of N taken up by the crop per unit of soil available N). However, Cd addition enhanced N assimilation efficiency (NtUE, defined as the grain yield per unit of N taken up by the crop) by 21.9% on average in all rice cultivars. The NpUE was mainly affected by soil type, whereas NtUE was affected by rice cultivar. Hybrid cultivars had higher NUEs than the japonica and indica cultivars because of their greater biomass and higher tolerance to Cd contamination. Reduction of NUE after Cd addition was stronger in RS than in YS, which was related to the lower absorption capacity for Cd in RS. Canonical correspondence analysis-based variation partitioning showed that cultivar type had the largest effect (34.4%) on NUE, followed by Cd addition (15.2%) and soil type (10.0%).  相似文献

Abstract

Rice variety IR 36, grown under flooding, was studied in 1998 to determine the effects of fly ash, organic, and inorganic fertilizers on changes in pH and organic carbon, release of nutrients (NH4 +-N, Bray's P, and NH4OAc K), and dehydrogenase activity in an acid lateritic soil at 15-day intervals. Application of fly ash at 10?t?ha?1 alone did not improve the availability of NH4 +-N, or P, as well as the rice grain yield. Availability of NH4 +-N (35.3–36.9?mg?kg?1), and P (12.3–14.6?mg?kg?1) at 15 days after transplanting, and rice grain yields (48.0–51.7?g per pot) were similar under the various fertilization sources such as inorganic fertilizer alone, inorganic fertilizer?+?fly ash or inorganic fertilizer?+?green manure?+?fly ash. Mean dehydrogenase activity was the highest (8.47?µg triphenyl formazon g?1 24?h?1) under the mixed fertilization treatments with green manure. At the end of the cropping season (75 days after transplanting), pH, organic carbon, and dehydrogenase activity were higher under the mixed fertilization treatments involving green manure by 3, 15 and 154%, respectively, compared with the inorganic fertilizer alone.  相似文献

The application of zinc (Zn) fertilizer to lentil is an agronomic strategy that has the potential to improve yield and enhance grain Zn concentration. A pot study was conducted to determine if Zn fertilizer applied to three popular Saskatchewan lentil cultivars could increase yield and concentration of Zn in the grain. The effects of soil and foliar applied Zn forms, including ZnSO4, Zn chelated with EDTA, Zn lignosulphonate, and a control were evaluated. Forms of Zn were not found to significantly increase yield (P = 0.828) or grain Zn concentration (P = 0.708) in any of the lentil cultivars tested. Fertilization with soil applied ZnSO4 resulted in significantly (P < 0.0001) higher amounts of residual available Zn in the soil relative to other Zn treatments. Soil fertilized with ZnSO4 had 1.13 mg kg?1 diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA)-extractable Zn compared to 0.84 mg Zn kg?1 and 0.77 mg Zn kg?1 in the soil and foliar applied chelated Zn, respectively.  相似文献
