添加生物炭对酸性红壤中玉米生长和氮素利用率的影响   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Biochar added to soil can improve crop growth through both direct and indirect effects, particularly in acidic, highly weathered soils in subtropical and tropical regions. However, the mechanisms of biochar improving crop growth are not well understood. The objectives of this study were i) to determine the crop responses to biochar addition and ii) to understand the effect of biochar addition on N use efficiency. Seven acidic red soils varying in texture, p H, and soil nutrient were taken from southern China and subjected to four treatments: zero biochar and fertilizer as a control(CK), 10 g kg-1biochar(BC), NPK fertilizers(NPK), and 10 g kg-1biochar plus NPK fertilizers(BC+NPK).15N-labeled fertilizer was used as a tracer to assess N use efficiency. After a 46-d pot experiment, biochar addition increased soil p H and available P, and decreased soil exchangable Al3+, but did not impact soil availabe N and cation exchange capacity(P 〉 0.05). The N use efficiency and N retained in the soil were not significantly affected by biochar application except for the soil with the lowest available P(3.81 mg kg-1) and highest exchanageable Al3+(4.54 cmol kg-1). Greater maize biomass was observed in all soils amended with biochar compared to soils without biochar(BC vs. CK, BC+NPK vs. NPK). This agronomic effect was negatively related to the concentration of soil exchangeable Al3+(P 〈 0.1). The results of this study implied that the liming effect of biochar improved plant growth through alleviating Al toxicity and P deficiency, especially in poor acidic red soils.  相似文献

Effects of Al, Ca, Mg, and Si on the growth and mineral accumulation of M. malabathricum (Melastoma malabathricum L.), which is an Al accumulator plant, were investigated using the water culture method. Rice (Oryza sativa L.) and barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) were used as control plants. After Al application, growth was inhibited in barley, but stimulated in M. malabathricum and rice. The growth of M. malabathricum was not reduced by very low Ca and Mg concentrations (0.1 mm Ca and 0.05 mm Mg). However, it was depressed in the absence of Ca. Ca and Mg contents somewhat decreased by Al application, which was most evident in young leaves and roots. M. malabathricum accumulated more than 10,000 mg kg-1 Al in mature leaves, and more than 7,000 mg kg-1 even in the youngest leaf. Al content in leaves of M. malabathricum did not decrease by the Ca or Mg application, but slightly decreased by in the absence of Ca.

Although Si is a strong ligand of Al in solution, in M. malabathricum, Si application hardly affected the growth, Al accumulation and nutrient uptake.  相似文献

This study was undertaken to investigate the feasibility of using Paecilomyces lilacinus NRRL 13 866, chitin, and cellulose amendments, in order to reduce survival and prevent germination of sclerotia from Aspergillus flavus NRRL 6556, NRRL 13 048, and A. parasiticus NRRL 13 005, NRRL 13 539 buried in sandy soil in Georgia and Illinois (April–October, 1990). The number of sclerotia that germinated sporogenically in moist chambers following burial in Illinois was twice that of sclerotia buried in Georgia and varied among the four sclerotium-producing Aspergillus spp. strains. Sclerotium viability, as measured by Aspergillus spp. colony formation on potato dextrose agar, was high (>84%) for all strains and treatments (e.g. amendment, location). Even so, A. parasiticus NRRL 13 539 sclerotia were apparently more susceptible to P. lilacinus colonization than sclerotia from other strains. Treatment with Paecilomyces sp. caused a small but significant reduction in germination among sclerotia buried in Georgia.  相似文献

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of aluminum (Al3+) on a calcium‐polygalacturonate (Ca‐PG) network used as a soil‐root interface model. Calcium‐PG networks were exposed to Al3+ solutions at different concentrations (100, 200, 400, and 800 µM) at pH 3.50. In the present study, the scanning electron microscopy technique was used to evaluate morphological variations induced by Al3+sorption. Results showed how aluminum (Al) sorption induces conformational changes of the Ca‐PG complex. The Ca‐PG complex shows a regular structure with a honeycomb‐like pattern. Interlacing fibrils form a porous system, which can easily allow sorption and/or passage of nutrients as well as toxic elements. As Al becomes the predominant reticulating ion, the pores decrease in size and lose their regular shape. The scanning electron micrographs have in fact shown that Al sorption damages the Ca‐PG complex, leading to its collapse; the Ca‐Al‐PG networks exhibit an irregular uneven structure.  相似文献

Abstract

Considerable uncertainty prevails concerning a suitable measure that can adequately describe Al phytotoxicity in nutrient and soil solutions. A study was conducted to evaluate the ability of a modified aluminon technique to discriminate between phytotoxic and non‐phytotoxic Al in solutions containing 80 μM Al with varying levels of CaSO4(625 to 10000 μM), at two pH levels (4.2 and 4.8). The concentration of Al measured by the modified aluminon technique ranged from 18.3 to 77.7 μM,thereby indicating substantial polymerization in some of the solutions. The greatest amount of polymerization occurred at pH 4.8 in the presence of 625 μM CaSO4. Increasing additions of CaSO4resulted in an increase in predicted activity of AlSO4 +at both pH levels. However, with increasing addition of CaSO4, the predicted activity of Al3+decreased at pH 4.2 or remained relatively constant at pH 4.8. The relationship between the sum of predicted activities of monomeric Al (SaAl mono.) in solution and tap root length of soybean [Glvcine max(L.) Merr.] cv. Lee was extremely poor, thereby indicating the inability of the modified aluminon technique to measure phytotoxic Al in solutions employed in the current study. This difficulty was due to failure of the modified aluminon technique to exclude lesser phytotoxic AlSO4 +species. The activity of Al3+was closely related to tap root length (R2= 0.865). The prediction of root length response to Al was further improved (R2= 0.899) by considering the solution Al index as: S[3aA13+ + 2aAl(OH)2+ + aA1(OH)+]. There was a poor relationship between tap root length and the concentration of polymeric Al, thus suggesting the lower phytotoxicity of this component under the prevailing solution conditions.  相似文献

The worldwide production of rice husk, a by‐product and agrowaste that causes serious environmental problems, may reach 116 million t y?1. The objectives of this study were (i) to determine the physicochemical changes of rice husk and its structural chemistry during composting using 13carbon nuclear magnetic resonance (13C NMR) and (ii) to determine the effect of the composted rice husk (CRH) on the properties of Oxisol and cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) growth under glasshouse conditions. Results showed an active composting phase occurred at the first 53 days as revealed by high carbon dioxide (CO2)‐C (40–71 µg g?1 h?1) production, followed by a matured composting phase occurring at 54–116 days as revealed by decreasing in CO2‐C production (10 µg g?1 h?1). The active composting was accompanied by increases in electrical conductivity (EC), pH, ammonium (NH4 +), and nitrate (NO3), whereas during the matured composting phase, the EC and cation exchange capacity increased but pH, NH4 +, and NO3 ?1 decreased. The ash of the produced compost contains mainly calcium (Ca), potassium (K), sulfur (S), magnesium (Mg), and phosphorus (P) as essential nutrients. The CP/MAS 13C NMR spectra before and after various composting times indicated the dominance of sharp and well‐resolved signal peaks at O‐alkyl C and di‐O‐alkyl C regions (67–73%), which are characteristic of cellulose. The percentage of N‐alky/methoxyl was 23–26% whereas phenolic, carboxyl, and alkyl C types were less than 3% each. The application of the CRH to an Oxisol significantly increased soil pH and Ca, Mg, K, sodium (Na), and silicon (Si) ions of in situ soil solution but decreased the amounts of toxic ions [aluminum (Al), manganese (Mn), and iron (Fe)]. The CRH was found to increase cocoa growth up to 37%.

Screening of potassium efficient genotypes will be one of the best ways to solve the low potassium content of flue-cured tobacco. The study was conducted to determine whether the potassium efficient genotypes could be screening with high K+ uptake efficiency. The K+ uptake characteristics of a high K+ content line (GK8) and the conventional cultivated variety (K326) of flue-cured tobacco were compared at the seedling stage. Km, Cmin, and Imax values were higher in young seedlings (4?~?5 versus 6?~?7 leaf stage) and cultures with high initial K+ concentration (0.35 versus 0.25?mmol?L?1). Culture solutions with a high K+ concentration (2.0 versus 0.6?mmol?L?1) showed a high Km, and Cmin, but the Imax was lower as compared with the young seedlings and the solution with high initial K+ concentration. In conclusion, the GK8?line had a stronger ability for limited K+ uptake than K.  相似文献

Aluminum toxicity to plants is often responsible for yield reductions under acid soil conditions. Despite the fact that Al becomes insoluble in the slightly acid to neutral pH range, there are indications that it can still be taken up and become toxic to plants. Corn plants were grown in the greenhouse on three highly weathered soils (Oxisol and Ultisols) containing substantial quantities of exchangeable Al. The soils were limed at various rates up to pH values near or above neutrality. On all soils a positive yield response to lime occurred at low pH values while on two of the soils, yields decreased significantly as the pH approached neutrality. Yield and Al content of the tissue were exponentially related irrespective of the level of phosphate applied (r2 = 0.34 and 0.71). The mechanism by which Al becomes increasingly available to the plant as the pH approaches neutrality is not clear and needs further investigation. Strong Al‐Mg and Al‐P antagonisms occur at the high and low pH values. The existance of Al toxicity at near‐neutral pH values can be invoked to explain many of the anomolous results reported in the literature concerning yield depressions previously ascribed a posteriori to such factors as micro‐element or P deficiencies.  相似文献

To examine the possibility that the Al13 polymer ([A104Al12(OH)24(H20)12]7+) could be formed in soils after gypsum application, an analytical method using a cation exchange resin and 27Al nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy was applied to gypsum-treated Kitakami Andosol (fine, mixed, mesic, Andic Dystrochrept). The NMR spectra of the cation exchange resins which retained artificially synthesized hydroxy-AI, showed two broad peaks at 0 and 63 ppm. These results indicated that monomer and/or dimer Al and Al13 polymers adsorbed on the cation exchange resin could be detected with 27Al NMR. The amount of polymer Al increased by gypsum application in the Kitakami soil. The NMR spectrum of this resin showed only one peak at 0 ppm indicating that the polymer Al formed in the gypsum treated Kitakami soil was not the Al13 polymer.  相似文献

The natural abundance of 15N and 13C, conventional soil analyses, and biomass production by maize were used to study the influence of five tropical tree species on soils and their fertility. The experiment was conducted in Morogoro, Tanzania, to compare Cassia (Senna) siamea, Eucalyptus camaldulensis, E. tereticornis (all non-N2-fixing), Leucaena leucocephala, Prosopis chilensis (both N2-fixing), and a grass fallow. Maize biomass production, which was correlated with N uptake (P=0.001), was higher on soils from plots with 5-year-old Leucaena and Prosopis spp. compared to the grass fallow, while other tree species had less favourable effects on maize growth. The per cent N was higher in soil and 15N of soil total N was lower under Prosopis sp. compared to soil under other tree species, which suggests an input from N2 fixation by Prosopis sp. A transfer of fixed N to maize or to understorey grass species was, however, not indicated by the 15N natural abundance. Prosopis sp. contributed more C to the soil than the other four tree species; the difference in 13C between soils from Prosopis sp. plots and from grass fallow plots showed that the tree contributed 11% to the total C of the soil over a period of 8 years. The leaves of the N2-fixing species had a low ratio of lignin+phenols to N, and maize growth was negatively correlated with this parameter. The Eucalyptus spp. had leaves with a high lignin+phenols to N ratio, contributed very little C to the soil, and lowered the soil pH.  相似文献

Abstract

Growing evidence of positive crop responses to gypsum or phosphogypsum (PG) application in acid soils strongly support the use of these amendments as an ameliorant of subsoil acidity. Although gypsum improves Ca availability in subsoils, its role in alleviation of Al toxicity needs careful attention. In the current study, either PG, CaSO4.2H2O or CaCl2.2H2O was added (to supply 12 mM Ca) to solutions containing 40 μM Al at pH 4.1 + 0.1. Solution pH was gradually raised to 4.5, 4.8 and then to 5.3 at various time intervals during 25 d aging of the solutions at 25 + 1OC.

Concentration of Al measured by aluminon method without preacidification and preheating, referred to as “reactive Al”; in this paper, was 16 μM in 2 g L‐1PG solution without added Al. This accounted 38% of total soluble Al in PG solution. Addition of 2 g L‐1PG to solution containing 40 μM Al, resulted in only 42% of total Al in solution present in forms reactive with aluminon. According to MINTEQ speciation model, Al in solution was present as an entirely complexed form with F. An increase in solution pH up to 5.3 had no effect on measured concentration of reactive Al or predicted distribution of Al species.

Addition of CaSO4.2H2O to 40 μMAl solutions had no effect on the concentration of reactive Al within pH 4.1 ‐4.8, however, up to 62% of total Al was in a form complexed with SO4 2‐, as predicted by MINTEQ model. The concentration of reactive Al decreased by 60% at pH 5.3. Addition of CaCl2.2H2O also had no effect on the concentration of reactive Al within pH 4.1 ‐ 4.8. Nearly 73 ‐ 94% of total Al was present in Al3+form. An increase in pH to 5.3, decreased the concentration of reactive Al by 27%. The results suggest that ion‐pairing of Al with Fwould appear to be a possible mechanism for alleviation of Al toxicity by PG at pH range 4.1 ‐ 5.3. With regard to CaSO4.2H2O, at pH 4.1 ‐ 4.8 ion‐pairing with SO.4 2‐appears to be possible mechanism for the alleviation of Al toxicity. In addition, at pH 5.3 a considerable decrease in reactive Al was evident which would further alleviate Al toxicity.  相似文献

The role of phosphorus (P) in the amelioration of aluminum (Al) toxicity to plants is still unclear. The aim of this study was to examine the amelioration of Al toxicity by P supply. The study involved growing Al-sensitive wheat seedlings for 13 days in an acidic soil [pH 4.5 in calcium chloride (CaCl2)] with increasing added rates of P (0, 20, 40, and 80 mg P kg?1 soil) and Al [0, 50, and 150 mg aluminum chloride (AlCl3) kg?1 soil]. The results indicated that the effects of Al toxicity in this soil could be fully alleviated by the application of P at 50 mg AlCl3 kg?1. The 150 mg kg?1 AlCl3 treatment significantly reduced root growth, but this was partially overcome by the 80 mg kg?1 P treatment. High P significantly reduced the concentration of Al in the apoplast, root, and shoot. It is possible that an insoluble Al-P complex forms in the soil and this decreases Al bound in apoplast as well as uptake into the roots. High P decreased the translocation of Al from root to shoot. This study also concluded that detoxification of Al3+ by P mainly occurs in soil but not within the plant tissue.  相似文献

Three pot experiments were set up to determine how efficiently mycorrhizal fungi affect the uptake, translocation, and distribution of labeled phosphorus (32P), phosphorus (P), and heavy metals in alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.). In experiments 1 and 2, the efficiencies of different arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) species including Glomus mosseae, G. etunicatum, G. intraradices and a mixed strain (G. mosseae, Gigaspora hartiga, and G. fasciculatum) on uptake, translocation, and distribution of 32P and P in alfalfa were investigated, respectively. In a third experiment, the efficiency of G. mosseae on uptake and distribution of heavy metals [cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co), lead (Pb), and combinations] was tested. Results of experiments 1 and 2 suggest that G. mosseae was the most effective at increasing the uptake of 32P and P. Experiment 3 result showed that in the triple-metal-contaminated soil, inoculated plants had greater Co (32.56 mg kg?1) and Pb (289.50 mg kg?1) concentration and G. mosseae enhanced the translocation of heavy metals to shoot. Hence, mycorrhizal alfalfa in symbiosis with G. mosseae can be used for remediation of heavy metals polluted soils with high efficiency.  相似文献

The colonization of Macrophomina phaseolina sclerotia by microbial parasites was evaluated in unsterilized field soil at different levels of soil moisture (0,-5, and-10 kPa) and temperature (20, 30, and 40°C). The maximum colonization of sclerotia was recorded in soil held at-5 or-10 kPa at 30–40°C. Trichoderma harzianum isolate 25–92 and Pseudomonas fluorescens isolate 4–92 were recorded as potential sclerotial parasites, and they significantly (P=0.05) reduced the germination of sclerotia by 60–63%. Cells of P. fluorescens and buffer-washed conidia of T. harzianum were completely agglutinated at 28°C with crude agglutinin of M. phaseolina. The ability of different antagonists to parasitize the sclerotia were correlated with the agglutination ability of the antagonists.  相似文献

Poly dispersive aerosols of SrCl2, NaI, CsCl having a size distribution of 2.33 m (Activity Median Aerodynamic Diameter, [AMAD]) with a geometric standard deviation of 1.83 m are used for the determination of deposition velocity for 85Sr, 131I and 137Cs aerosols on tropical spinach (Spinicia olericia), radish (Raphanous sative) and beans (Phasolous valugeries) plant leaves. The experiments were carried out in a specially designed exposure chamber to simulate deposition under accidental releases of radioactivity in tropical environment. The rates of particles deposition are expressed as a function of plant surface area and of plant dry weight. The deposition velocities obtained are in the range of 10–6 to 10–7 m/s. These values differ significantly from those in temperate regions. The lower values for deposition velocities (v g) for the tropical environment is attributed due to high humidity. Therefore, the deposition of suspended aerosols on leaf surfaces caused by impaction and Brownian diffusion becomes slower in tropical environment and resulted into lower value of deposition velocities.  相似文献

This trial was carried out to study the evolution of the nutrient parameters of the nutrient solution applied to tomato plants (Lycopersicum sculentum Mill. Forteza) cultivated in Mediterranean greenhouse conditions under different fertigation management models. The dynamic model is based on soil water content, which was measured by tensiometers, and on soil solutions obtained with suction cups (porous ceramic cup water samplers). The local traditional method consists of following technical recommendations, and the classical model requires the estimation of Crop Factor (Kc) and knowing the nutrient extraction. Nutrient solution and water applied are functions of the fertigation management criteria. The water used for fertigation was classified as C4-S3 according to the Riverside classification system. The cultivation period lasted from 15 August to 20 April. The nutrient parameters studied in nutrient and soil solution were pH, electrical conductivity (EC), nitrate (NO3 ?), phosphate (H2PO4 ?), potassium (K+), calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+), sodium (Na+), and chloride (Cl?). The pH shows similar trends under the different treatments. Electrical conductivity is in the range of 2.8–4.5 dS m?1. Chloride, sodium, magnesium, and sulfate are exclusively modified by the salt concentration in the irrigation water, so it can be assumed that the three treatments vary equally. Nitrate, potassium, phosphate, and calcium are modified depending on each fertigation management method. Soil solution is modified by the nutrient solution applied. Dynamic management allows low nutrient concentration in the nutrient solution to be maintained and keeps soil nutrient concentration low, reducing fertilizer losses and therefore aquifer contamination.  相似文献

Abstract

Hydroponically grown barley plants (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Minorimugi) under iron-deficient (–Fe) and high phosphorus (P) conditions (500 µmol L?1) showed Fe chlorosis and lower growth compared with plants grown in –Fe and low P conditions (50, 5 and 0.5 µmol L?1). To understand the physiological role of P in regulating the growth of plants in –Fe medium, we carried out an Fe feeding experiment using four P levels (500, 50, 5 and 0.5 µmol L?1) and phytosiderophores (PS), mugineic acid. Our results suggest that plants grown in a high P medium had higher absorption activity of 59Fe compared with plants grown in low P media, irrespective of the presence or absence of added PS. Translocation of 59Fe from roots to shoots was not affected by the P level. The relative translocation rate of 59Fe increased with decreasing levels of P in the medium. In general, the addition of PS enhanced the absorption of 59Fe and its translocation. Taken together these results suggest that the lower relative translocation rate of Fe in high P plants may be induced by the physiological inactivation of Fe in the roots, and the higher absorption activity of Fe in high P conditions possibly results from the response of barley plants to Fe deficiency.  相似文献

Abstract

An important consideration for milk thistle (Silybum marianum L.) cultivation is regulating development to lengthen the reproductive stage and increase seed yield with high silymarin content. The treatment of milk thistle with foliar fertilizers and growth regulators—thidiazuron (Dropp®), 2,3,5‐triiodobenzoic acid (Tiba®), mepiquat chloride (Pix®), and prohexadione‐Ca (Regalis®)—resulted in an increase in the proportion of mature flower heads. Highest seed yield was observed in plants treated with Pix® and mineral soil fertilization, whereas in plants treated with foliar fertilizers, highest yields were observed with Pix® and Regalis®. The highest content of silymarin was found in plants treated with Dropp® and foliar fertilizer. Generally, treatment of milk thistle with plant‐growth regulators in combination with soil or foliar mineral fertilizers increased the total amount of silymarin by increasing seed yield per hectare.  相似文献

Plants in which growth was reduced by low and high Al applications were designated as Al-sensitive plant (Hordeum vulgare) and Al-medium tolerant plants (Leucaena leucocephala, Ischaemum barbatum, Stylosanthes guianensis, and Fagopyrum esculentum), respectively, while plants in which growth was not affected or was stimulated by Al application were designated as Al-tolerant plant (Brachiaria ruziziensis) and Al-stimulated plants (Melastoma malabathricum, Melaleuca cajuputi, Acacia mangium, Hydrangea macrophyila, Vaccinium macrocarpon, Polygonum sachalinense, and Oryza sativa), respectively. Plants tolerant to or stimulated by Al were further classified based on the criteria of Al accumulation: 1) Al-excluders such as M. cajuputi, A. mangium, L. leucocephala, I. barbatum, S. guianensis, and O. sativa, 2) Al root-accumulators such as V. màcrocarpon, B. ruziziensis, and P. sachalinense, and 3) Al-accumulators such as M. malabathricum, H. macrophylla, and F. esculentum. The growth and N, P, and K uptake in M. malabathricum, M. cajuputi, A. mangium, L. leucocephala, H. macrophylla, V. macrocarpon, I. barbatum, P. sachalinense, F. esculentum, and O. sativa were stimulated by Al application, especially P uptake, while in H. vulgare (Al-sensitive plant) they were reduced by Al application. Ca and Mg uptake of many plants was inhibited by Al application, while that of some plants adapted to low pH soils was not affected at all (Ca and Mg: M. cajuputi, H. macrophylla, V. macrocarpon, I. barbatum, and S. guianensis; Mg: B. ruziziensis and P. sachalinense). In M. malabathricum, the relationship between Al and Ca (or Mg) was antagonistic because the Ca and Mg contents decreased by Al application even though dry matter, N, P, and K accumulation was stimulated by Al application. Plants adapted to low pH soils grew poorly in the no-Al treatment. Since the effect of the pH on plant growth was less conspicuous than that of Al, growth stimulation by Al application was ascribed not only to the alleviation of H+ toxicity but also to the increase of root activity such as P uptake.  相似文献
