In order to understand the detailed soil distribution of a terrace with a diluvial deposit, the method to draw a large-scale soil map was studied in Urausu Town of Sorachi district by combinig soil survey and digital elevation data for a 10 m grid.
The results are summarized as follows:
  • 1) 

    From a soil survey, soils in the research area were classified into 3 soil series groups according to Classification of Cultivated Soils in Japan, Third Approximation, which were Skeletal Terrace Brown Forest Soils, Fine-textured Aquic Brown Forest Soils and Fine-textured Haplic Gray Upland Soils. In addition, Fine-textured Haplic Gray Upland Soils · were classified into 2 categories based on the abundance of gravel in the subsoil.

This study outlines the results of analysis of soil samples collected from fixed quadrats located in a regular pattern across Wytham Wood. Oxfordshire, England. The site contains plots of mixed deciduous ancient woodland and more recent plantations. A previous soil study was undertaken in 1974 and samples archived. Soils were resampled in 1991 and some re-analysis of the 1974 samples was undertaken. Soils were of a wide range in types from sands to gravels with a pH range of 3.0–7.0. Results showed some decline in pH in lower horizons, but most striking was a large increase in soil nitrogen for all horizons and soil types.  相似文献

发生分类淋溶土与系统分类参比特征研究   总被引:5,自引:2,他引:5  
利用最新建立的中国 1∶10 0万土壤数据库 ,研究了我国发生分类淋溶土与中国土壤系统分类的参比及其在中国土壤系统分类下的空间分布和数量特征。结果表明 ,我国发生分类淋溶土总面积为10 5 975 7.8km2 ,分布规律明显 ;与系统分类参比 ,发生分类淋溶土分属于中国土壤系统分类 4个土纲 ,即淋溶土、雏形土、新成土和灰土 ,它们分别占发生分类淋溶土总面积的 72 .8%、2 6 .1%、1.0 %、0 .1% ,其中包含系统分类的 2 5个土类和 4 7个亚类 ,参比关系复杂 ,不是简单的一对一的关系。分析发生分类某一类型土壤分属于系统分类不同类型的面积比例及其标准偏差 ,结果表明土壤参比的单元级别越低 ,越易于参比和把握。为了使中国土壤系统分类更实用、更易于普及 ,深入开展土壤基层分类研究 ,进一步发展和完善中国土壤系统分类是必要的 ,也是十分迫切的。研究结果对于土壤类型的正确参比、中国土壤系统分类的应用与发展 ,具有很好的参考应用价值  相似文献

Abstract

This study aimed to clarify pedogenetic processes and classification of yellowish Brown Forest Soils according to the Classification of Forest Soils in Japan and the Yellow Brown Forest soils according to the Unified Soil Classification System of Japan in the warm and cool temperate forest of Kyushu district, Japan. In addition, the study aimed to clarify a problem with the Unified Soil Classification System of Japan. Thirty-six soil profiles of Brown Forest Soils, including 13 yellowish Brown Forest Soils and 15 Yellow Brown Forest soils, were compared with regard to their chemical properties and the relationship with climatic conditions was assessed. The yellowish Brown Forest Soils had thin A horizons, low pH and low levels of free oxides in the B horizons, and a low amount of silica and a high aluminum and iron to silica ratio. These features were related to the paleo reddish weathering. The immaturely developed A horizon of the yellowish Brown Forest Soils was caused by these weathered, low-activity substances. The Yellow Brown Forest soils had low levels of active iron oxides and a low activity ratio of free iron oxides compared with the Haplic Brown Forest soils in the same thermal climatic conditions. The activity ratio of free iron oxides was correlated to mean annual air temperature with the carbon stocks and with many other chemical properties. Accordingly, classification of Brown Forest Soils was clearer according to thermal climatic conditions. The activity ratio of free iron oxides can become an effective index that distinguishes Yellow Brown Forest soils under warm temperate lucidophyllous forest and Haplic Brown Forest soils under cool temperate broad-leaved deciduous forest with considerable vertical soil zonality.  相似文献

Cryptopodzolic Soils are characterized by a thick blackish-brown mineral horizon rich in organic matter, the dark colour of which masks the morphological characteristics of podzolization. Little is known about the specific site factors that lead to the formation of these soils. Four representative soil profiles from a typical toposequence between 1700 and 500 m above sea level in southern Switzerland, embracing Haplic Podzols, Humic Cambisols and Cryptopodzolic Soils, are described morphologically, chemically and physically. The Cryptopodzolic Soils in this region are characterized by weak to moderate A1 and Fe translocation, and by a uniform incorporation of organic matter deep into the soil. The most prominent feature is the exceptional stability of the soil organic matter with a maximum in the spodic horizon. All these characteristics can be explained by the unique combined effect of a mild, wet climate, an Fe- and Al-rich acid bedrock and a litter layer providing dissolved organic matter rich in polyphenolic substances with strong metal-binding properties.  相似文献

A three dimensional simulation of the landsurface system is presented, which includes the processes of weathering, soil creep and fluvial erosion. Soils represent a deposit in equilibrium between the processes of weathering and erosion. The simulated drainage basin with a fixed exit point reproduces the “closed” system dynamics of the Davisian model, in which however slopes still attain a dynamic equilibrium form. Within the basin the overall mean soil depth very rapidly reaches a constant value even though a considerable redistribution of material is still to occur. This implies a rapid establishment of a balance between the process of weathering and erosion. By contrast the detailed pattern of soil depths on individual slopes is established much more slowly, only after the slopes themselves come to equilibrium. The equilibrium configuration of soils under soil creep shows a slight downslope increase in depths, and major increases in soil depth are restricted to locations where external constraints force an accumulation of material.  相似文献

明确不同来源土壤剖面数据建立的大、中、小系列制图比例尺对旱地有机碳储量估算的影响对于全球碳循环研究具有重要意义。以江苏北部(简称"苏北地区")3.9×106多hm2旱地为例,系统分析了我国目前常用《县级土种志》、《地级市土种志》、《省级土种志》和《中国土种志》中记录的土壤剖面数据分别建立的1∶5万、1∶25万、1∶50万、1∶100万、1∶400万和1∶1 000万数据库对有机碳储量估算的影响。结果表明,与数据最详细、记录有983个土壤剖面的《县级土种志》1∶5万尺度有机碳密度和储量相比,其他土壤数据源建立的不同制图尺度数据库相对偏差分别在1.94%~23.53%与0.02%~22.86%之间,T检验表明大多数制图尺度土壤数据库的估算结果与《县级土种志》1∶5万尺度之间存在极显著差异(p0.001),这说明在今后国家或区域尺度土壤有机碳储量估算中选择适宜的土壤数据源和制图尺度是非常重要的。  相似文献

The objectives of our research were to evaluate the impact of organic, sustainable, and conventional management strategies in grower fields on soil physical, chemical, and biological factors including soil microbial species and functional diversity and their effect on the Basidiomycete plant pathogen Sclerotium rolfsii, causal agent of Southern blight. Soils from 10 field locations including conventional, organic and sustainable farms were sampled and assayed for disease suppressiveness in greenhouse assays, and soil quality indicators. Soils from organic and sustainable farms were more suppressive to Southern blight than soils from conventional farms. Soils from organic farms had improved soil chemical factors and higher levels of extractable C and N, higher microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen, and net mineralizable N. In addition, soil microbial respiration was higher in soils from organic than sustainable or conventional farms, indicating that microbial activity was greater in these soils. Populations of fungi and thermophiles were significantly higher in soils from organic and sustainable than conventional fields. The diversity of bacterial functional communities was also greater in soils from organic farms, while species diversity was similar. Soils from organic and sustainable farms had improved soil health as indicated by a number of soil physical, chemical and biological factors and reduced disease.  相似文献

The ecological concept lying in the basis of the Red Data Book of Soils is outlined. This book serves as a scientific and legal framework for the protection of the soil cover and soil diversity. A network of specially protected soil areas in Orenburg oblast is planned with the aim to protect soil taxa included in the book. It is argued that the legislative basis of the special protection of soils and other components of the biosphere should be developed with due account for the status of the Red Data Book of Soils. The concept of the Red Data Book of Soils of Orenburg Oblast is in line with the ideas formulated in the Red Data Book of Russian Soils.  相似文献
