The objectives of this work were to determine the changes in the expression of neuroendocrine markers in Leydig cell by oestradiol treatment, and to determine whether testosterone is able to recover partially the effects of hormonal suppression induced by oestradiol. Adult male rats were injected daily with either 50 microg of oestradiol or oestradiol plus testosterone propionate (25 mg every 3 days) for 15 days. The animals were sacrificed and testicles were dissected and processed by routine histological protocols. FSH and LH serum levels were determined by radioimmunoassay. The visualization of antigens was achieved by the streptavidin-peroxidase immunohistochemical method. Antibodies against chromogranin A (CrA), S-100 protein (S-100), P substance (PS), synaptofisin (SYN), neurofilament protein (NF), gliofibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and neuron specific enolase (NSE) were used. The mean LH and FSH serum concentrations were consistently suppressed with hormonal treatments. Intermediate filaments (NF and GFAP) showed no difference in their expression. The expression of S-100, NSE and SYN was significantly lower in both hormone-treated groups. In oestradiol-treated rats, the immunoreactivity of CrA and SP decreased significantly but was restored after testosterone supplementation. Although the nature and functions of many of these substances in Leydig cells remain unknown, these results are consistent with the hypothesis that the expression of some neuroendocrine markers is hormonally controlled.  相似文献

We investigated the in vitro differentiation of canine bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) into voltage- and glutamate-responsive neuron-like cells. BMSCs were obtained from the bone marrow of healthy beagle dogs. Canine BMSCs were incubated with the basal medium for neurons containing recombinant human basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF; 100 ng/ml). The viability of the bFGF-treated cells was assessed by a trypan blue exclusion assay, and the morphology was monitored. Real-time RT-PCR was performed to evaluate mRNA expression of neuronal, neural stem cell and glial markers. Western blotting and immunocytochemical analysis for the neuronal markers were performed to evaluate the protein expression and localization. The Ca2+ mobilization of the cells was evaluated using the Ca2+ indicator Fluo3 to monitor Ca2+ influx. To investigate the mechanism of bFGF-induced neuronal differentiation, the fibroblast growth factor receptor inhibitor, the phosphoinositide 3-kinase inhibitor or the Akt inhibitor was tested. The bFGF treatment resulted in the maintenance of the viability of canine BMSCs for 10 days, in the expression of neuronal marker mRNAs and proteins and in the manifestation of neuron-like morphology. Furthermore, in the bFGF-treated BMSCs, a high concentration of KCl and L-glutamate induced an increase in intracellular Ca2+ levels. Each inhibitor significantly attenuated the bFGF-induced increase in neuronal marker mRNA expression. These results suggest that bFGF contributes to the differentiation of canine BMSCs into voltage- and glutamate-responsive neuron-like cells and may lead to the development of new cell-based treatments for neuronal diseases.  相似文献

Leydig cells of lesser mouse deer (Tragulus javanicus) testes were observed using light and transmission electron microscopies. Sexually mature lesser mouse deer were obtained in East Malaysia. The testes were perfused with 5% glutaraldehyde, postfixed with 1% OsO4, dehydrated in ethanol and embedded in Araldite. The semithin sections were cut, stained with toluidine blue and observed under light microscopy. The ultrathin sections were cut, stained with uranyl acetate and lead citrate, and examined using a JEM-1200 transmission electron microscope. As a result, two types of filament bundles were frequently recognized in Leydig cells, but not in other testicular cells. These bundles were clearly seen at even a light microscopic level. One type was bundles of actin filaments (approximately 5 nm in diameter). These structures were found not only in the cytoplasm but also in the nucleus. The other type was bundles of intermediate filaments (approximately 10 nm in diameter). These structures were found only in the cytoplasm. The existence of filament bundles has never been reported in the testicular cells of another mammalian species. Thus, while bundles of actin and intermediate filaments are specifically present in the Leydig cells of the lesser mouse deer, their functions are still unclear.  相似文献

Leydig and Sertoli cells of the immature lesser mouse deer testes, obtained in East Malaysia, were observed using light and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Serial ultra-thin sections were cut, stained with uranyl acetate and lead citrate, and examined using TEM. As a result, ultrastructurally, two types of underdeveloped filament bundles were infrequently recognized in Leydig cells, but not in other testicular cells. One type was the underdeveloped bundles of actin filaments (approximately 5 nm in diameter), which were found in the nucleus of Leydig cells. The other type was the underdeveloped bundles of intermediate filaments (approximately 10 nm in diameter), which were found in the cytoplasm of Leydig cells. A multivesicular nuclear body (MNB)--specifically present in the Sertoli cell nucleus of ruminant testes--was infrequently observed. The MNB is situated in the vicinity of nuclear membrane, still in an underdeveloped stage.  相似文献

Normal and well differentiated neoplastic canine tissues were immunohistochemically stained for keratin, vimentin and desmin intermediate filament proteins using commercially available monoclonal antibodies. Keratin was detected in 56 of 57 carcinomas, vimentin in 59 of 62 sarcomas and desmin in three of four muscle cell tumors. Most normal and neoplastic tissues expressed only one type of intermediate filament; exceptions were one hemangiosarcoma and one pulmonary carcinoma in which there was coexpression of vimentin and keratin proteins. Since immunohistochemical detection of intermediate filaments has tissue-specific distribution in the majority of well differentiated canine neoplasms, these stains may be useful in the differential diagnosis of anaplastic canine tumors. However, the monoclonal antibodies to cytokeratin which were tested in this study failed to detect intermediate filaments in liver, pancreas and salivary glands which suggests that these antibodies may also be unable to detect epithelial tumors derived from these tissues. In addition, in nine neoplasms, the normal tissues adjacent to neoplastic cells failed to stain for the intermediate filament normally expressed. When this occurs, evaluation of intermediate filament expression is invalid for the determination of tissue of origin of the neoplastic cells.  相似文献

本研究旨在获得妊娠中期猪羊水来源千细胞,并通过用EGFP对干细胞进行标记,为以EGFP作为示踪标记对干细胞进行体内移植研究奠定基础.利用羊水来源干细胞培养技术体系,从胎龄60 d猪胎儿羊水中分离获得干细胞,通过脂质体介导转染将EGFP基因导入干细胞,诱导转基因干细胞向肌细胞和神经细胞分化,观察其分化特点.采用RT-PCR技术检测干细胞和分化细胞表面标志或相关基因.结果成功分离培养出妊娠中期猪羊水来源干细胞,并获得转EGFP基因干细胞.干细胞在表达EGFP的同时仍具有分化潜能.干细胞中Oct4、CD-90和Sox2表达阳性;体外诱导的干细胞能分化为肌细胞(表达myf-6和myoD)、星形胶质细胞(表达GFAP)、少突胶质细胞(表达GalC)和神经元细胞(表达NF、NSE和MAP2).研究表明,从妊娠中期猪胎儿羊水中分离干细胞具有可行性和有效性,转EGFP基因干细胞具有自我更新、增殖和分化潜能,可以用EGFP对羊水来源干细胞进行标记、追踪,为EGFP作为示踪标记对干细胞用于体内移植研究奠定了基础.  相似文献

Here we report the detection and distribution of synaptophysin (SPY), non-neuronal enolase (NNE), glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), vimentin (VIM), neuropeptide Y (NPY), and vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) expression in the goat forestomach during prenatal development. A total of 140 embryos and fetuses were examined to evaluate protein expression from the first stage of prenatal life until birth. In all cases, SPY immunoreactivity was detected at 53 days gestation in the lamina propria-submucosa, tunica muscularis, serosa, and myenteric plexuses. Immunoreactivity to NNE was observed at 64 days gestation in the same locations as well as the epithelial layer. Glial cells were found at 64 days as indicated by signals corresponding to GFAP and VIM at 39 days. Positive staining for NPY and VIP was observed at 113, 75, and 95 days in the rumen, reticulum, and omasum, respectively, in the lamina propria-submucosa, tunica muscularis, and myenteric plexuses of each of these gastric compartments. These findings indicate possible preparation of the fetal goat forestomach for postnatal function. Compared to other ruminant species, neuroendocrine cells, glial cells and peptidergic innervations markers were detected earlier compared to sheep but at around the same stage as in deer.  相似文献

Glucocorticoids (GCs) as mediators of the stress response may affect Leydig cell function by inhibiting either luteinizing hormone receptor expression or testosterone biosynthesis. The isozymes 11β‐hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (11βHSD) 1 and 11βHSD2 control the intracellular cortisol levels. Little is known about the effects of stress on fertility in the equine. The objective of the present study was to determine the presence and cellular localization of glucocorticoid receptors (GCR) and glucocorticoid‐metabolizing enzymes (11βHSD1 and 11βHSD2) in equine epididymal and testicular tissue with special regard to sexual maturation. Testicular and epididymal tissue was collected from 21 healthy stallions, and four age groups were designed: pre‐pubertal, young, mature and older horses. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis and quantitative real‐time PCR (qRT‐PCR) were used. Pre‐pubertal horses showed higher testicular gene expression of 11βHSD1, 11βHSD2 and GCR than horses of all other groups (p < 0.05). A positive intranuclear immunoreaction for GCR was seen in epithelial cells of caput, corpus and cauda epididymidis and in Leydig cells. Significant differences (p < 0.05) between age groups occurred. The number of Leydig cells staining positive for GCR was highest in immature stallions (p < 0.05). The enzyme 11βHSD1 was localized in epithelial cells of the caput and corpus epididymidis and in Leydig cells. As determined by enzyme assay, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)‐dependant dehydrogenase (oxidation) activity was not detected in testicular tissue from immature stallions but in all other age groups (n = 3 per group). Results of this study suggest a contribution of GCs to maturation of male reproductive tissue in horses. In mature stallions, expression of 11βHSD enzymes and the oxidative 11βHSD activity in Leydig cells and epididymal basal and principal cells suggest a protective role on these tissues contributing to physiological intracellular glucocorticoid concentrations.  相似文献

Human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are known to possess the potential for multiple differentiations abilities in vitro and in vivo. In canine system, studying stem cell therapy is important, but so far, stem cells from canine were not identified and characterized. In this study, we successfully isolated and characterized MSCs from the canine umbilical cord and its fetal blood. Canine MSCs (cMSCs) were grown in medium containing low glucose DMEM with 20% FBS. The cMSCs have stem cells expression patterns which are concerned with MSCs surface markers by fluorescence-activated cell sorter analysis. The cMSCs had multipotent abilities. In the neuronal differentiation study, the cMSCs expressed the neuronal markers glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), neuronal class III β tubulin (Tuj-1), neurofilament M (NF160) in the basal culture media. After neuronal differentiation, the cMSCs expressed the neuronal markers Nestin, GFAP, Tuj-1, microtubule-associated protein 2, NF160. In the osteogenic & chondrogenic differentiation studies, cMSCs were stained with alizarin red and toluidine blue staining, respectively. With osteogenic differentiation, the cMSCs presented osteoblastic differentiation genes by RT-PCR. This finding also suggests that cMSCs might have the ability to differentiate multipotentially. It was concluded that isolated MSCs from canine cord blood have multipotential differentiation abilities. Therefore, it is suggested that cMSCs may represent a be a good model system for stem cell biology and could be useful as a therapeutic modality for canine incurable or intractable diseases, including spinal cord injuries in future regenerative medicine studies.  相似文献

A solitary brain mass of a 4-month-old miniature dachshund showing seizure-like neurological signs was examined histopathologically. At necropsy a white tumor mass, replacing the thalamus, approximately 1.5 cm in diameter, was found. There was cystic space filled with yellowish pale fluid in the central area of the tumor mass. Histopathological examination revealed that the mass consisted of irregularly arranged well-differentiated neuronal and glial cells, and multifocal mineral deposits. The neuronal cells had a large clear nucleus and various amount of Nissl substances in the cytoplasm. Some neural cells were bi-nucleated. Neither mitotic figures nor proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA)-positive nuclei was found in the neuronal cells. Immunostaining for glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) revealed diffuse proliferation of GFAP-positive glial cells and their processes, while these glial cells did not show apparent cellular atypism, mitotic activity, or PCNA-immunoreactivity. Accordingly, the present tumor was diagnosed as ganglioglioma, and hamartomatous histogenesis might be possible.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate cell surface markers of bone marrow-derived canine mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) by use of flow cytometric analysis and determine whether canine MSCs express proteins specific to neuronal and glial cells. SAMPLE POPULATION: Bone marrow aspirates collected from iliac crests of 5 cadavers of young adult dogs. PROCEDURES: Flow cytometric analysis was performed to evaluate cell surface markers and homogeneity of third-passage MSCs. Neural differentiation of canine MSCs was induced by use of dibutyryl cAMP and methyl-isobutylxanthine. Expressions of neuronal (beta III-tubulin) and glial (glial fibrillary acidic protein [GFAP] and myelin basic protein) proteins were evaluated by use of immunocytochemical and western blot analyses before and after neural differentiation. RESULTS: Third-passage canine MSCs appeared morphologically homogeneous and shared phenotypic characteristics with human and rodent MSCs. Immunocytochemical and western blot analyses revealed that canine MSCs constitutively expressed beta III-tubulin and GFAP. After induction of neural differentiation, increased expression of GFAP was found in all samples, whereas such change was inconsistent in beta III-tubulin expression. Myelin basic protein remained undetectable on canine MSCs for these culture conditions. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Canine bone marrow-derived mononuclear cells yielded an apparently homogeneous population of MSCs after expansion in culture. Expanded canine MSCs constitutively expressed neuron or astrocyte specific proteins. Furthermore, increases of intracellular cAMP concentrations induced increased expression of GFAP on canine MSCs, which suggests that these cells may have the capacity to respond to external signals. Canine MSCs may hold therapeutic potential for treatment of dogs with neurologic disorders.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to analyze the distribution and expression of peptidergic neurotransmitters protein gene product 9.5 (PGP9.5) and neuropeptide Y (NPY) in cryptorchidism and testicular tumors of dogs,compare them with normal testicular tissues of the same age,and provide reference for clinical diagnosis of malignant transformation in testicular tumors of dogs.HE staing,Masson trichrome staining,Gomori silver staining and toluidine blue staining were used to observe the tissue characteristics of reticular fibers,collagen fibers and mast cells.Immunohistochemical SP method and immunofluorescence combined with IPP were used to analyze the expression and localization of PGP9.5 and NPY in tissues.The results showed that the seminiferous epithelium of normal dog testis was composed of 4-7 layers of spermatogenic cells and Sertoli cells,and the distribution of collagen fibers and reticular fibers in interstitial tissue was sparse.The thickness of collagen fibers in the basement membrane of cryptorchidism seminiferous tubules increased,the nucleus of Sertoli concentrated at the base of seminiferous tubules,and the interstitial reticular fibers increased.The tissue structure of testicular tumor was unclear,collagen fibers and reticular fibers were irregularly distributed,and mast cells increased significantly compared with normal and cryptorchid groups.The immunofluorescence results showed that PGP9.5 was moderately positive in Leydig cells of normal testis,no significant expression in spermatogenic cells,strongly positive in Leydig cells and spermatogenic cells of cryptorchidism,and occasional expression in testicular tumors.NPY was occasionally expressed in normal testicular Leydig cells,but not in spermatogenic cells,strong positive expression in Leydig cells and seminiferous epithelium of cryptorchidism,high density and strong positive expression in interstitial vessels,and no obvious expression in testicular tumors.Immunohistochemical statistics showed that the expression of PGP9.5 and NPY in testicular tumor tissue were extremely significantly lower than that in normal group (P<0.01),while the expression of PGP9.5 and NPY in cryptorchidism group were significantly or extremely significantly increased (P<0.05;P<0.01).Therefore,the expression of PGP9.5 and NPY in cryptorchidism of dogs was increased suggesting that the cryptorchidism of dogs had a tendency to develop into a tumor,and was related to the degree of malignant transformation of tumor.  相似文献

试验旨在分析肽能神经递质蛋白基因产物9.5(protein gene product 9.5,PGP9.5)和神经肽Y(neuropeptide Y,NPY)在犬隐睾及睾丸肿瘤中的分布和表达,并与同年龄正常睾丸组织进行比较,为认识犬睾丸肿瘤恶变临床诊断提供参考。应用HE染色、Masson三色染色、Gomori银浸染、甲苯胺蓝染色观察各组织中网状纤维、胶原纤维及肥大细胞等组织特征,采用免疫组织化学SP法及免疫荧光法结合IPP统计分析PGP9.5和NPY在组织中的表达及定位。结果显示,正常犬睾丸生精上皮由4~7层生精细胞及Sertoli细胞构成,间质组织胶原纤维和网状纤维分布稀疏。隐睾生精小管基底膜胶原纤维厚度增加,Sertoli细胞核浓缩位于生精小管基底,间质网状纤维增多。睾丸肿瘤组织结构不清晰,胶原纤维和网状纤维无规则分布,肥大细胞较正常组及隐睾组显著增多。免疫荧光定位表明,PGP9.5在正常睾丸Leydig细胞中呈中等阳性表达,生精细胞中无明显表达;隐睾Leydig细胞及生精细胞中呈强阳性表达;睾丸肿瘤中偶有表达。NPY在正常睾丸Leydig细胞中偶见阳性表达,生精细胞中无表达;隐睾Leydig细胞及生精上皮中无表达,间质小血管管壁呈高密度强阳性表达;睾丸肿瘤组织中无明显表达。免疫组化统计表明,睾丸肿瘤组织中PGP9.5和NPY较正常组极显著降低(P<0.01),隐睾组PGP9.5和NPY表达显著或极显著增加(P<0.05;P<0.01)。因此,犬隐睾时PGP9.5及NPY的表达增高,提示犬隐睾时已有发展为肿瘤的趋势,且与肿瘤恶变程度相关。  相似文献

Nasolabial glands are serous glands forming a thick subcutaneous layer in the bovine muzzle. In order to identify the different epithelial cell types, both immunofluorescent and immunoperoxidase techniques were employed on frozen and fixed sections using monoclonal antibodies to cytoskeletal proteins and S-100. Actin was also detected with phalloidin. The results show that four cell types can be identified on the ground of the different composition of the cytoskeletal filaments: acinar, basket, luminal duct and basal duct cells. Acinar, luminal duct cells and basal duct cells express different patterns of cytokeratins, as shown by the 12 anti-cytokeratin monoclonal antibodies used, and both basket cells and the basal cells of intercalated ducts are also reactive to phalloidin and anti-x-smooth muscle actin monoclonal antibody. The presence of actin supports the conclusion that basal duct cells are also contractile elements, i. e. myoepithelial cells. Vimentin, glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), and S-100, molecules considered to be markers of myoepithelial cells by many AA., were not found. The intermediate filaments of the duct epithelium appear more complex and heterogeneous in comparison with those present in the acinar cells.  相似文献

To provide information on the role of Rho, a GTP-binding protein, in postnatal development of the brain cells, the change in the levels of Rho protein and Rho-related proteins was examined in the brain of mice for two weeks after birth, in parallel with the changes in the activity of marker enzymes for neuronal and glial cells. The activities of acetylcholine esterase and choline acetyltransferase of whole brain homogenate, both of which are neuronal marker enzymes, were progressively increased in an age-dependent manner. The activity of 2',3'-cyclic nucleotide 3'-phosphohydrolase, a glial marker enzyme, increased markedly between one and two weeks after birth. In contrast, the levels of RhoA and RhoB in the membrane fraction were decreased during the postnatal period. The amount of Rho GDP dissociation inhibitor, a regulatory protein for Rho, was unchanged, while those of Rho target proteins, Rock-2 and citron, were gradually increased. Since the inactivation of Rho is known to induce neurite extension and neuronal and glial differentiation in vitro, our results suggest that the Rho signalling pathway plays a regulatory role in the postnatal differentiation of neuronal and glial cells in vivo.  相似文献

Cytokeratin 5 and p63 have been described as basal and myoepithelial cell markers in human breast. Mixed tumors of the canine mammary gland have been associated with a myoepithelial origin. Cytokeratin 5 expression has not been evaluated in these tumors. We investigated the relation between cytokeratin 5 and p63 double-immunohistochemical expression in 23 mixed tumors of the canine mammary gland (10 benign mixed tumors and 13 carcinomas arising from benign mixed tumors) and their origin. Cytokeratin 5 and p63 co-expression was observed in myoepithelial cells of benign mixed tumors, as well as in squamous differentiation of carcinoma arising from benign mixed tumors. Though a few interstitial spindle cells of the mesenchymal components expressed both p63 and cytokeratin 5, the basal epithelial cells were labeled only by cytokeratin 5. The co-expression of p63 and cytokeratin 5 in myoepithelial cells and squamous differentiation suggest that, like in human breast, cytokeratin 5 can also be considered a myoepithelial- and squamous-cell differentiating marker in canine tumors. The presence of some interstitial spindle cells stained for p63 and cytokeratin 5 might be associated with a myoepithelial origin of the mesenchymal component of mixed tumors of the canine mammary gland. Moreover, contrary to p63, basal epithelial cells were labeled by cytokeratin 5, indicating that cytokeratin 5 may not represent an exclusive myoepithelial cell marker but also a basal epithelial cell marker in canine mixed tumors. According to these data, basal epithelial cells may be related to the origin of the epithelial component of mixed tumors of the canine mammary gland.  相似文献

The brain from a 15-month-old, black female Angus, with a 48-hour history of central nervous system disease, was submitted to the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. Microscopic findings consisted of acute, multifocal meningoencephalitis, with neuronal degeneration and necrosis and gliosis. Viral isolation yielded noncytopathic bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV). Virus genotyping classified the virus as BVDV type 2. Immunohistochemical labeling for BVDV antigens with BVD MAb 3.12F1 clone was prominent in the cytoplasm of neurons, glial cells, ependymal epithelium, perivascular macrophages and spindle cells, smooth muscle cells, and intravascular monocytes of the cerebrum and brain stem. Laboratory results support that tissue alterations occurred as a result of BVDV type 2 infection. In the absence of other clinical signs related to BVDV infection and using the microscopic and laboratory evidence presented, we propose that the BVDV type 2 isolated from this case may represent a neurovirulent strain of the virus. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of brain lesions and neuronal viral antigen localization in BVDV genotype 2 viral infection, acquired either congenitally or postnatally.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate immunolocalization of steroidogenic enzymes 3βHSD, P450c17 and P450arom and their expression during the breeding season in wild male raccoon dogs. The testicular weight, size and seminiferous tubule diameters were measured, and histological and immunohistochemical observations of testes were performed. The messenger RNA expression (mRNA) of 3βHSD, P450c17 and P450arom was measured in the testes during the breeding season. 3βHSD was found in Leydig cells during the breeding and non‐breeding seasons with more intense staining in the breeding season. P450c17 was identified in Leydig cells and spermatids in the breeding season, whereas it was present only in Leydig cells in the non‐breeding season. The localization of P450arom changed seasonally: no immunostaining in the non‐breeding season; more extensive immunostaining in Leydig cells, Sertoli cells and elongating spermatids in the breeding season. In addition, 3βHSD, P450c17 and P450arom mRNA were also expressed in the testes during the breeding season. These results suggested that seasonal changes in testicular weight, size and seminiferous tubule diameter in the wild raccoon dog were correlated with spermatogenesis and immunoreactivity of steroidogenic enzymes and that steroidogenic enzymes may play an important role in the spermatogenesis and testicular recrudescence and regression process.  相似文献

Furthermore, increased hippocampal neurogenesis has been documented in rodent models of acute convulsions. This is a report of hippocampal neurogenesis in a dog with spontaneous epileptic seizures. A 16-week-old epileptic German Shepherd Dog had marked neuronal cell proliferation (up to 5 mitotic figures per high-power field and increased immunohistochemical expression of proliferative cell nuclear antigen) in the dentate gyrus accompanied by microglial and astroglial activation. Some granule cells expressed doublecortin, a marker of immature neurons; mitotically active cells expressed neuronal nuclear antigen. No mitotic figures were found in the brain of age-matched control dogs. Whether increased neurogenesis represents a general reaction pattern of young epileptic dogs should be investigated.  相似文献

Because canine mammary tumours constitute a serious clinical problem and there are no good prognostic markers (only histopathological variables are used), the aim of the presented study was to find new malignancy markers as well as to identify intracellular pathways and biological processes characteristic for canine mammary malignancy. We compared gene expression of the most malignant mammary tumours (poorly differentiated cancers of the 3rd grade of malignancy) with less malignant tumours (well differentiated cancers of the 1st grade of malignancy). The results of our study indicated that in dogs the number of tumour-infiltrating myeloid cells or expression of myeloid-specific antigens by cancer cells is related to the cancer progression and may constitute a new marker of malignancy, however further studies in this field are required.  相似文献
