In the present paper regression techniques were used for determing the true digestibility of amino acids from lysine-supplemented rations fed to laying hens as compared with unsupplemented rations of the same composition. 5 groups of 4 hens each were investigated receiving graded amounts of food and nutrients. The daily amounts of pellets fed per bird in group 1 to 5 were 120 gms, 100 gms, 80 gms, 60 gms and 40 gms. The quantity of lysine contained in 100 gms of the pellets was 664 mg in ration 1 and 554 mg in ration 2, the corresponding N values being 2.57 gm and 2.62 mg. The total amount of endogenic amino acids excreted per day was 128 mg per kg of body weight in birds receiving the lysine-supplemented ration and 132 mg per kg of body weight for the lysine-deficient ration. Data for the true digestibility of lysine and isoleucine were significantly higher in the case of the lysine-supplemented ration than with the lysine-deficient mixture. Lysine values were 86% and 75%, the corresponding lysine data in crude faecal proteins 4.8% and 7.1%. Generally speaking, the crude faecal protein of hens fed the lysine-deficient diet contained higher proportions of most of the essential and non-essential amino acids.  相似文献

Digestibility trials were performed with laying hens receiving 3 types of rations containing equal proportions of the same dietary components. The percentage of high-protein wheat in these rations was 74%. Ration I was supplemented with 0.12% lysine while 0.06% lysine was added to ration II; ration III remained unsupplemented. The crude protein content of rations 1 to 3 was 16.1%, 16.5% and 16.6%, respectively. The corresponding lysine percentages were 0.66, 0.62 and 0.56. Studies were made to investigate the influence of different lysine levels on the rate of N excretion and various amino acid data. These studies were carried out during two successive laying periods. Only random differences between the data for urinary N excretion and N balances per kg liveweight were obtained in the two laying periods and for the different lysine levels. The true lysine digestibility was significantly lower in the poor-lysine ration as compared with the ration with 0.66% lysine. Moreover, the absorptive capacity for thio-amino acids is influenced by the lysine level of the ration. The proportion of lysine contained in faecal crude protein increased with the decreasing lysine content of the ration. Similarly, the total number of amino acids present in faecal crude protein increased with the declining supply of lysine. These findings suggest that relatively more NPN compounds are excreted in the faeces if adequate amounts of amino acids are supplied rather than when one amino acid is deficient.  相似文献

The effects of adding lysine and/or methionine to a ration of calculated deficiency in these amino acids of 10% and 20%, respectively, were studied in 24 Brown Swiss cows. The mixed rations (27% grass silage, 19% maize silage, 5% hay and 49% concentrate on DM basis) contained 14.5% CP on average. Lysine supply was selectively elevated by adding fish meal in exchange for other concentrate ingredients. Methionine was supplied in a rumen-protected form. Milk protein content was elevated whereas fat amount decreased by adding both amino acids. Lactose content increased without additional lysine from fish meal. Live weight, milk yield, milk fat content and protein amount remained unaffected by any variation of amino acids supply. Also nutrient digestibility and nitrogen balance were not changed by the treatments. Blood plasma concentrations confirmed the assumed variation in metabolic lysine and, less clear, methionine supply. Effects on plasma concentrations of other amino acids were relatively small. Most plasma hormones and enzymes, and metabolites in plasma, urine and milk did not respond to the variation in amino acid supply. Lysine addition via fish meal increased aspartate amino transferase and decreased urinary allantoin concentration. Additional methionine elevated plasma ornithine. Overall lysine and methionine appear to have been only marginally deficient in the unsupplemented ration fed for 3 weeks despite the deficiency of 10% to 20% as calculated by the I.N.R.A. method.  相似文献

A feeding trial was conducted on a total of 96 pigs to investigate the effect of lysine supplements added to rations of wheat+extracted soya bean meal and rations of wheat+extracted gound nut meal. Significant differences in the daily weight gains were noted (up to the 4th week of experiment) between the groups fed the soya bean meal ration and those fed the ground nut meal ration and between the soya bean meal groups receiving rations supplemented with 0,71% lysine or 0.79% lysine. At the termination of the trial (8th week) these differences were no longer significant statistically although the soya bean meal group fed rations supplemented with 0.79% lysine yielded clearly the best results.  相似文献

A fattening trial was carried out with 8 groups of broilers each comprising 1225 birds. Within this trial tests were made to replace the protein feeds of newly hatched chicks over a period of up to 56 days of age, by wheat rich in crude protein. If wheat with a high crude protein content is fed supplementation with lysine and methionine will be necessary depending on the kind of protein feed used. No supplementation with amino acids is required if rations of fish meal + extracted soya bean meal are used despite their reduced content of these amino acids. The broilers consumed larger quantities of the wheat + extracted soya bean meal+fish meal ration than of the mixtures containing no fish meal. Food requirements per unit of weight gain were the same for the mixtures containing high-protein wheat and for the standard maize ration. The lowest food consumption per unit of weight gain was computed for the wheat + extracted soya bean meal diet supplemented with amino acids. The same quantities of lysine, thioamino acids and threonine were necessary for broilers receiving the wheat rations as for birds of the standard group. Protein feed may be saved by using high-protein wheat in the fattening of broilers. The rates of weight gain obtained with these rations are the same or even better than those achieved with rations of maize + fish meal+soya bean meal.  相似文献

A large-scale trial was carried out under commercial conditions to investigate to which extent the feeding of rations with varying lysine content to young hens would influence the crude nutrient content of the body fractions and might change the pattern of amino acid composition and the activity of GOT in the blood. Four rations were fed each containing 14.2% crude protein, 626-633 EFh units/kg and 0.59%, 0.61%, 0.54% and 0.46% lysine. The crude protein and crude fat content of the total body and of body fractions were in no case found to be related to the feeding regime. The proportion of crude ash in the "remainder of non-utilizable parts", in "bones", "intestinal and abdominal fat", "ovaries" and "small intestine" decreased with the decreasing lysine content of the rations. The concentrations of free lysine, histidine, arginine, and phenylalanine in the deproteinized blood plasma of the young hens were significantly (a = 0.01) lower in the birds of the lysine deficient group than in the hens of the other groups. Positive regressions were calculated for the lysine content or the content of aspartic acid in the ration and the pattern of free amino acids in blood plasma. Positive and negative linear relationships were found to exist between the concentrations of free lysine, and those of histidine, arginine or threonine, and serine. A close correlation existed between the total amount of essential amino acids in blood plasma and the lysine concentrations of the plasma. Increasing lysine supplementation produced a decline in the N content of the whole blood and blood corpuscles but a rise in the N content of blood plasma. The activity of GOT in the blood of young hens was not found to be useful as an indicator of the quality of dietary proteins.  相似文献

In two experiments with colostomized broiler hens the influence of a straw meal supplement on the apparent digestibility of the amino acids of the ration and the 15N labelled basic amino acids in wheat was studied. In experiment 1 the animals received 120 g mixed feed plus 0, 20, 30 and 40 g straw meal per animal and day. The digestibility of the amino acids decreased on average from 86% to 83%, 80% and 79% with the growing straw intake. In contrast to the control variant, 20 g straw meal intake resulted in a significant decrease of digestibility for lysine, histidine, glycine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, cystine and methionine. 30 and 40 g straw meal reduced significantly the digestibility of all amino acids with the exception of arginine. The amino acid composition of the crude protein in faeces changed only very slightly due to the straw supplement. In experiment 2 15N labelled wheat was a component of the ration. Of the 15N labelled amino acids lysine, histidine and arginine, 88, 90 and 95% were apparently digested. The adaptation of the animals to straw meal intake did not change the digestibility of the amino acids.  相似文献

Generally, the faeces of laying hens fed 15N casein rations were found to contain equal proportions of TCE-precipitable and TCE-soluble nitrogen. Considerable variations were observed to occur between the 64 samples investigated (27%-75%) and no explanation was found to account for this fact. The content of basic amino acids in faecal proteins was found to differ considerably from that of the proteins in the intestinal contents. A high lysine content was found after the feeding of wheat. The present trial substantiated this result, provided the casein contained a certain proportion of non-available lysine. The apparent and true digestibility of dietary N was 88% or 91%, that of 15N (2nd and 6th day of experiment) and 92%. During the feeding of labelled casein a higher level of N labelling was found in the TCE-soluble portion of the faeces, whereas on the 8th to 12th day a higher level of labelling was observed in the TCE-precipitable portion of the faeces. The peak of 15N excretion occurred on the 3rd day of experiment. When 15N administration terminated the atom% 15N in the faeces and in urine was found to decrease rapidly approximating the initial level of labelling asymptotically.  相似文献

1530 laying hybrid hens kept under conditions of large-scale production were used to test whether varying lysine levels given to young hens would later on influence the production of the birds during their laying period. Thus, young hens received isonitrogenous and isocaloric diets with varying lysine content (group 1-4: 0.59%, 0.61%, 0.54%, 0.46%) and varying sources of lysine (group 1: wheat/fish meal; group 2--4: wheat/synthetic L-lysine). The ration used for the controls was prepared on the basis of nationally prescribed formulas.  相似文献

Rations in which all the protein was supplied by wheat and soybean meal or corn and soybean meal were fed to White Leghorn hens for 252 d. Rations based on wheat‐soybean meal which contained 14% protein supported a high and efficient rate of egg production when supplemented with sufficient lysine and methionine to ensure minimum intakes of 600 and 300 mg per hen‐day, respectively. Similarly, corn‐soybean meal rations which contained 12 to 14% protein and were properly supplemented with methionine and lysine supported satisfactory laying hen performance. Average egg size of hens fed on rations based on wheat was slightly smaller than that of hens fed on corn‐based rations. Lysine supplementation did not alleviate this.

The data re‐emphasise that protein concentration of laying hen rations can be reduced from the commonly used 15.5 and 16.5% levels to 14% without impairing productive performance, provided that rations based on wheat and soybean meal or corn and soybean meal are supplemented judiciously with lysine and/or methionine.  相似文献

Three colostomated leghorn hybrids with an average laying performance of 75% received a ration with 17.7% crude protein and an energy content of 519 energetic feed units for hens per kg mixed feed over a period of 8 days. In the first six days of the experiment the 1%-supplement of urea to the ration was labelled. Its atom-% 15N excess (15N') amounted to 96.06%. During the last two days the urea supplement was not labelled. The total N, trichloracetic acid (TCA)-soluble N and the ammonia N were determined in the feces samples collected daily. In the urine samples collected daily the total N, urea N and ammonia N per hen were determined as well. In all samples the atom-% 15N excess (15N') was measured. The percentage of 14N in feces of the 14N dose was, on an average of the three hens, 21.3% and the analogous quota of 15N' 4.6%. The quota of ammonia 14N of the total 14N in feces had an average of 2.5%, the corresponding 15N' quota was 10.1%. The atom-% 15N' of the urea N in urine was considerably above that of the total urine N and had a maximum of more than 50%. The quota of urine 14N of the 14N taken in had an average of 44.4%, and the corresponding 15N' quota was 56.9%. On an average of the three hens, 61.6% of the 15N' were excreted in feces and urine during the 8-day test period.  相似文献

Over 4 days 12 colostomized laying hens received together with a commercial ration labelled wheat with a 15N excess (15N') of 14.37 atom-%. The labelling of the basic amino acids amounted to 13.58 atom-% for lysine, to 14.38 atom-% for histidine and to 13.63 atom-% 15N' for arginine. 3 animals each were butchered 12 h, 36 h, 60 h and 108 h resp. after the last application of 15N. The heavy nitrogen in the total N and in the N fraction of non-protein origin as well as in the basic amino acids in faeces was daily determined for the individual hens in the total experimental period. On average the crude protein of faeces contained 5.45 % lysine, 2.32% histidine histidine and 3.68% arginine: the protein of faeces correspondingly contained 5.43% lysine, 2.32% histidine and 4.07% arginine. The quota of TCA soluble N in the total N of faeces amounts to one third on the 3rd und 4th days of the experiment and that of 15N' to 28%. The average atom-% 15N' of the protein fraction is 3.48 atom-% 15N' and that of the non-protein N fraction of faeces 2.93 atom-% 15N'. The apparent digestibility and that of the non-protein N fraction of faeces 2.93 atom-% 15N'. The apparent digestibility of the 14N of the ration on average amounts to 82.8% and that of the wheat 15N' to 87.5%. The average quota of the basic amino acids in the protein compounds of faeces amounts to 70.9% for lysine 15N', 73.7% for histidine 15N' and 70.3% for arginine 15N'. The digestibility of the 15N labelled amino acids amounts to 80.4% for lysine, 90.8% for histidine and 90.2% for arginine.  相似文献

A method is discussed which has been used to investigate protein utilization in lactating sows. Two N balance trials were carried out to establish the degree of protein utilization of mixed feed rations. The rations contained barley, oats and flaked potatoes. Extracted pea nut meal or, for comparison, dried skim milk, were added as protein sources. The average biological value achieved was 42% if extracted pea nut meal was fed and 59% if dried skim milk was added. The corresponding PPV data were 33% for the rations containing extracted pea nut meal and 49% for the dried skim milk rations. Balances made for the rate of dietary amino acid intake and amino acid excretion in the milk showed that lysine deficiency occurred when rations were fed containing the extracted pea nut meal.  相似文献

In a digestibility trial 5 semisynthetic rations were fed in 3 periods to 10 male sheep to examine the effects on N balance, components of faecal nitrogen and N digestibility. The rations contained constant amounts of nitrogen but different contents of cellulose and two different types of starch (untreated and steamflaked). Content and type of starch did not show any noticeable effect neither on excretion of undigested dietary nitrogen nor on true digestibility. There could not be noticed any effects on the apparent N digestibility by changing contents of cellulose or untreated starch. If the rations contained steamflaked corn starch, the animals excreted more faecal nitrogen and therefore showed a lower apparent N digestibility. Especially the water soluble N fraction of the faecal nitrogen was clearly higher. Compensation took place through a lower N excretion with the urine. The reason for increased faecal N excretion may be higher microbial protein synthesis in the rumen. This was accented by the allantoin excretion with the urine.  相似文献

Balance experiments have demonstrated that growing pigs fed a ration consisting of wheat, barley, extracted soya meal, dicalciumphosphate, and iodine-free feeding salt utilised 48.8% of the received iodine. The tested supplementary iodine sources included potassium iodide (KI), ethylenediamine dihydroiodide (EDDI), iodine humate (HUI) prepared from iodine acid (HIO3), and the product P containing 0.004% iodine in an oil base (P). The amount of the supplemented iodine was in all cases 1 mg per 1 kg feed. The utilisation of iodine from the supplements reached 93.6, 92.6, 90.7, and 67.9% for KI, EDDI, P, and HUI, respectively. The values were significantly higher compared with controls (P < 0.01). Compared with KI and EDDI, the utilisation of iodine from HUI was significantly lower (P < 0.01). The lower availability of iodine from HUI was probably due to the high binding capacity of humate. The amount of urinary iodine excreted by control pigs receiving in the non-supplemented ration 147.5 micrograms iodine per day, was 40.3 micrograms per day (27.3%). In the pigs receiving in the supplemented ration 1647.5 micrograms iodine per day, the amount of urinary iodine reached 734.9 to 805.0 micrograms per day (44.6 to 48.9%). The corresponding values of faecal excretion were 75.6 micrograms iodine per day (51.2%) for the control pigs and 106.2 to 121.1 micrograms iodine per day (6.45 to 7.35%) for the pigs fed the supplemented rations. A high amount of 528.6 micrograms iodine per day (32.1%) was excreted in the faeces by pigs of the group HUI.  相似文献

Wistar rats of a live weight of about 100 g were divided into 14 groups (5 animals/group). The rations given supplied the animals with 75%, 100% and 125% lysine, which brought about a moderate growth of the animals of approximately 2 g/animal and day achieved by limited feeding. The 3 lysine levels mentioned could be achieved by lysine supplements (L-lysine-HCl) for the following rations: barley (B), wheat (W), and wheat gluten (WG). For isolated soybean protein (assay protein) (S) the lysine levels 100% and 125% and for soybean meal (SM) the levels 116% and 125% could only be achieved. A control group with whole egg ration (W) (with its natural lysine content of 125% of the requirement) were also tested as comparison. During the 10-day period of the main experiment all 14 rations were supplemented with 0.5 g 15N-lysine (alpha amino group, 95% labelled with 15N). The N balance could only be significantly improved by lysine supplements in the rations B, W and SM with the lysine level of 125%. The biologic value of the protein sources was in rations B and WG also significantly improved by the highest lysine supplement. 15N excess (15N') from the deaminated 15N lysine was excreted with diet B rich in crude fibre mainly in faeces (more than 15% of the intake) and only about 10% in urine. With the diets without native crude fibre the excretion quota changed in favour of urine. The following 15N' amounts in per cent of 15N' intake from lysine were excreted in urine and faeces: B 75 = 31.3, B 100 = 30.9, B 125 = 28.0, W 75 = 24.3, W 100 = 32.2, W 125 = 32.6, GW 75 = 18.3, WG 100 = 24.2, WG 125 = 28.1, S 100 = 39.4, S 125 = 50.4, SM 116 = 34.9, SM 125 = 32.9, W 125 = 19.1. 15N excretion in urine and faeces increased in comparable relations in 6 cases of lysine increase levels only. Gross utilization of lysine can only conditionally be quantified by 15N labelled lysine supplement.  相似文献

In experiments with colostomized broiler hens apparent digestibility of the crude nutrients of the ration after straw meal supplements of 20, 30 and 40 g per animal was determined. In addition, the 15N digestibility of straw meal and wheat was ascertained on the basis of straw meal supplements. The digestibility of the crude nutrients of the rations decreased significantly (P less than 0.05) after the straw meal supplement. The adaptation of the test animals to the straw meal intake resulted, at a daily consumption of 20 g straw meal, in an increase of the apparent crude fat digestibility (P less than 0.05) in dependence on the time of straw meal feeding, in which the original values without straw meal supplement were not reached. The digestibility of the 15N excess (15N') of the wheat was, at 86 +/- 1%, largely independent of the straw meal intake. The apparent digestibility of the straw-15N excess in broiler hens of 42 +/- 8 to 55 +/- 2% is surprisingly high.  相似文献

Four colostomized laying hens per group were given a ration of barley and soya bean oil meal (SBM) with 12.5, 25.0 and 37.5% SBM resp. The crude protein intakes were 14.0, 17.7 and 21.4 g per animal and day. The lysine intake raised from 681 mg (group 1) to 1275 mg (group 3) per animal and day. The digestibility of dry matter and of the N-free extracts of the ration decreased with the rising SBM portion in the ration. The digestibility of crude protein remained constant. The investigated amino acids (Lys, His, Arg, Cys, Met) were higher digested in the 37.5% SBM ration than in the 12.5% SBM ration. The following digestibility values for SBM were found by means of the difference method: Dry matter 52.5%, crude protein 83.1%, crude fat 51.7%, crude fibre 5.5%, N-free extracts 50.6%. The level of the SBM did not influence the digestibility of the crude nutrients. The apparent digestibility of lysine from SBM depended on the level of intake and was found to be 82.3, 83.4 and 89.0%, resp. There were no differences in the digestibility of other amino acids.  相似文献

New techniques involving extraction with organic solvents and lithium carbonate solution have been used to fractionate nitrogenous components of the excreta from laying hens fed diets in which the supplementary protein was groundnut meal, poor‐quality fish meal or good‐quality fish meal. The effect of adding methionine or lysine or both to the groundnut diet was also studied.

The proportion of ingested nitrogen excreted as uric acid or urate was significantly higher when the dietary protein supplement was groundnut meal than when it was good‐quality fish meal or groundnut meal supplemented with both lysine and methionine. Nitrogen retention, egg production and the apparent digestibility of nitrogen were higher on diets containing good‐quality fish meal than on diets containing groundnut meal alone. Intermediate effects were obtained when feeding diets supplemented with poor‐quality fish meal of groundnut meal containing either lysine or methionine. The implications of these findings are discussed. The main differences in protein utilisation associated with variations in dietary protein quality were reflected in the proportions of ingested nitrogen excreted as urates and as protein. Other nitrogenous components of excreta examined showed little variation with dietary protein quality. Benefits derived from the addition of methionine and lysine to the groundnut diet were obtained mainly by a more efficient use of absorbed amino acids.  相似文献
