The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the addition of Navicula spp. and Brachionus plicatilis on water quality and growth of postlarvae shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei reared in a biofloc system. Four treatments were considered: a control (biofloc system – BFT); BFT with the addition of Navicula spp. (BFT‐N); BFT with the addition of Brachionus plicatilis (BFT‐B) and BFT with the addition of Navicula spp. and Brachionus plicatilis (BFT‐NB), each in triplicate. Shrimp (16.2 ± 0.03 mg) were stocked at a density of 2500 shrimp m?3 and plankton were added on days 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 at a density of 5 × 104 cells mL?1 (Navicula spp.) and 30 organisms L?1 (Brachionus plicatilis). The shrimp were fed a formulated feed in four daily rations composed of 40% crude protein and 8% lipids. Significant differences between treatments were observed for final weight, yield, feed conversion ratio, specific growth rate, protein efficiency ratio and protein content of the shrimp. The combined plankton addition of Navicula spp. and B. plicatilis had better performance parameters, indicating their benefit as natural food sources for postlarvae L. vannamei in biofloc systems.  相似文献

A 60‐day indoor experiment was conducted to study the effect of dietary supplementation of biofloc on metabolic enzyme activities and immune responses in Penaeus monodon juveniles. Biofloc developed in indoor fibreglass‐reinforced plastic (FRP) tanks (1000 L) was used as dietary supplement in P. monodon (2.90 ± 0.10 g) reared in 1000‐L FRP tanks. Graded level of dried biofloc was included in shrimp basal diets, 0% (control, B0), 4% (B4), 8% (B8) and 12% (B12). The level of metabolic enzymes like malate dehydrogenase (MDH), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) was not significantly different with control up to 8% dietary supplementation. A higher level of total haemocyte count (THC) was noticed in B8 (22.16 ± 2.17 × 106 cells mL?1) and B4 (21.11 ± 0.56 × 106 cells mL?1) compared with control, C (14.61 ± 2.74 × 106 cells mL?1). Biofloc‐supplemented groups recorded significantly higher (< 0.05) serum SOD and catalase activity (P < 0.01) in comparison with control. The groups fed with 4% dietary biofloc supplement recorded highest relative percentage survival (RPS), 45% after challenge with Vibrio harveyi followed by 36% and 27% RPS in B8 and B12 groups. Based on these results, it can be concluded that supplementation of biofloc even at 4% level in the feed improves immune responses and metabolic activities in black tiger shrimp juveniles.  相似文献

Outbreak of luminescent disease was reported from Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp farms in Zhangpu County, Southern China during May–July 2011. The clinical signs included fluorescent, less food consumption and high mortality. Bacteria were isolated from the infected shrimps. The pathogen, a luminescent bacterium named VH1 was identified as Vibrio campbellii based on MLSA analysis (16S rDNA, rpoD and toxR). The haemolysin (hly) gene specific in V. campbellii was detected in strain VH1. Pathogenicity test using immersion infection confirmed that strain VH1 was virulent to L. vannamei postlarvae and juveniles, and the LC50 value was 1.55 × 106 CFU mL?1 and 1.7 × 106 CFU mL?1 respectively.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the addition of Chaetoceros calcitrans, Navicula sp. and Phaeodactylum tricornutum (diatoms) on phytoplankton composition and the growth of Litopenaeus vannamei postlarvae reared in a biofloc system . Four treatments were used: BFT (biofloc system without feed and no addition of diatoms); BFT‐F (biofloc system with feed and no addition of diatoms); BFT‐D (biofloc system with the addition of diatoms and no feed); and BFT‐FD (biofloc system with the addition of feed and diatoms), all in triplicate. The shrimp (16 ± 0.02 mg) were stocked at 2500 postlarvae m?3 and fed a commercial feed. Diatoms were added on the 1st, 5th, 10th and 15th day at a density of 5 × 104 cells mL?1 for each species. No significant differences (> 0.05) between treatments were observed for gross primary production, net ecosystem production and water column respiration rate. However, significant differences (< 0.05) were observed for nitrite, orthophosphate, alkalinity, final weight, weight gain, yield, feed conversion ratio (FCR), phytoplankton and cyanobacteria composition. The BFT‐FD treatment had better performance parameters for final weight (270 mg), weight gain (254 mg), yield (0.67 Kg m?3) and FCR (0.61), indicating the benefits of the diatoms C. calcitrans, Navicula sp. and P. tricornutum for decreasing cyanobacteria and improving growth of L. vannamei postlarvae reared in biofloc systems.  相似文献

In the field, moulting and salinity drop in the water due to excessive rainfall have been mentioned to be risk factors for WSSV outbreaks. Therefore, in this study, the effect of an acute change in environmental salinity and shedding of the old cuticle shell on the susceptibility of Penaeus vannamei to WSSV was evaluated by immersion challenge. For testing the effect of abrupt salinity stress, early premoult shrimp that were acclimated to 35 g L?1 were subjected to salinities of 50 g L?1, 35 g L?1, 20 g L?1, 10 g L?1 and 7 g L?1 or 5 g L?1 and simultaneously exposed to 105.5 SID50 mL?1 of WSSV for 5 h, after which the salinity was brought back to 35 g L?1. Shrimp that were transferred from 35 g L?1 to 50 g L?1, 35 g L?1 and 20 g L?1 did not become infected with WSSV. Shrimp became infected with WSSV after an acute salinity drop from 35 g L?1 to 10 g L?1 and lower. The mortality in shrimp, subjected to a salinity change to 10 g L?1, 7 g L?1 and 5 g L?1, was 6.7%, 46.7% and 53.3%, respectively (P < 0.05). For testing the effect of moulting, shrimp in early premoult, moulting and post‐moult were immersed in sea water containing 105.5 SID50 mL?1 of WSSV. The resulting mortality due to WSSV infection in shrimp inoculated during early premoult (0%), ecdysis (53.3%) and post‐moult (26.72%) demonstrated that a significant difference exists in susceptibility of shrimp during the short moulting process (P < 0.05). The findings of this study indicate that during a drop in environmental salinity lower than 10 g L?1 and ecdysis, shrimp are at risk for a WSSV infection. These findings have important implications for WSSV control measures.  相似文献

The bioflocs technology proved to be a sustainable technique used in zero‐water exchange shrimp culture systems. However, the pH and alkalinity may decrease due to the biofloc formation process and Nitrification. A 48‐day experiment was performed to investigate the effects of different pH (7.1–7.6; 7.6–8.1) conditions on water quality, the growth and the health status of shrimp in biofloc technology (BFT) through using sodium bicarbonate to adjust pH respectively. Two pH treatments and one control were compared: T0 — control, T1 — pH 7.6 — NaHCO3, T2 — pH 8.1 — NaHCO3, each treatment consisted of three replicate tanks (90 L water volume) and each replicate stocked with 30 shrimp (equivalent to 333 shrimp m?3). Significant physical, chemical and biological differences (P < 0.05) were detected among treatments. At the end of the experiment, water quality, the growth and the immune response of shrimp in control were significantly lower (P < 0.05) than the other treatments. Moreover, the T2 treatment had a better performance in these three aspects. The results indicated that it was necessary to adjust the pH and alkalinity in the BFT, and a higher pH as well as alkalinity for shrimp growth and the stability of the BFT were more favourable.  相似文献

In a 30‐day experiment, Farfantepenaeus brasiliensis PL25 (25 ± 10 mg; 17.9 ± 1.6 mm) were raised in nine circular floating cages with a stocking density of 1000 shrimp m?3. Three treatments were evaluated: (1) culture in BFT system plus a commercial feed supply (BFT+CF); (2) culture in BFT system without feed supply (BFT) and (3) culture in clear water with feed supply (control). Post‐larvae (PL) final weight (218.9, 236.5 and 176.0 mg, for BFT+CF, BFT and control respectively), final biomass (17.9, 15.7 and 8.2 g) and weight gain (193.9, 211.5 and 151.0 mg) were similar in the BFT regardless of whether they were fed a commercial diet (P>0.05), but were both significantly higher than the control (P<0.05). Survival (81.5%, 67.0% and 84.8% respectively) and final length did not differ between treatments (P>0.05). The biofloc analysis identified five main microorganism groups: protozoa (ciliate and flagellate), rotifers, cyanobacteria (filamentous and unicellular) and pennate diatoms. Free living bacteria and attached bacteria in bulk were 25.73 ± 8.63 and 0.86 ± 3.17 × 106 mL?1 respectively. Proximate analysis in the biofloc indicated high levels of crude protein (30.4%). Results confirmed favourable nutritional quality of biofloc, and enhanced growth and production of F. brasiliensis PL in biofloc systems.  相似文献

The experiment was conducted with three biofloc treatments and one control in triplicate in 500 L capacity indoor tanks. Biofloc tanks, filled with 350 L of water, were fed with sugarcane molasses (BFTS), tapioca flour (BFTT), wheat flour (BFTW) and clean water as control without biofloc and allowed to stand for 30 days. The postlarvae of Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) with an Average body weight of 0.15 ± 0.02 g were stocked at the rate of 130 PL m?2 and cultured for a period of 60 days fed with pelleted feed at the rate of 1.5% of biomass. The total suspended solids (TSS) level was maintained at around 500 mg L?1 in BFT tanks. The addition of carbohydrate significantly reduced the total ammonia‐N (TAN), nitrite‐N and nitrate‐N in water and it significantly increased the total heterotrophic bacteria (THB) population in the biofloc treatments. There was a significant difference in the final average body weight (8.49 ± 0.09 g) in the wheat flour treatment (BFTW) than those treatment and control group of the shrimp. Survival of the shrimps was not affected by the treatments and ranged between 82.02% and 90.3%. The proximate and chemical composition of biofloc and proximate composition of the shrimp was significantly different between the biofloc treatments and control. Tintinids, ciliates, copepods, cyanobacteria and nematodes were identified in all the biofloc treatments, nematodes being the most dominant group of organisms in the biofloc. It could be concluded that the use of wheat flour (BFTW) effectively enhanced the biofloc production and contributed towards better water quality which resulted in higher production of shrimp.  相似文献

We investigated the effects of concentration of the microalga Dunaliella tertiolecta on the growth and survival of fairy shrimp, Phallocryptus spinosa. Newly hatched nauplii were stocked into containers, maintained at different concentrations of D. tertiolecta (at 18, 36, 54, 72 and 90 × 106 cells mL?1). All treatments were in quadruplicate and each replicate was stocked with 100 larvae in a 2‐L cylindrical bowl. We studied the survival and growth of the fairy shrimp after 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 days of culture. The results indicated significant differences, in terms of growth and survival, of fairy shrimps fed at different algal densities. The highest and lowest growth and survival among the treatments were observed on Day 15, the highest in animals fed at a concentration of 90 × 106 cells mL?1 and the lowest in animals fed at a concentration of 18 × 106 cells mL?1. We conclude that the growth and survival of the P. spinosa increased with increasing density of algae, to a threshold level. Within certain concentration limits, the addition of D. tertiolecta substantially improved the performance of larval culture of P. spinosa, suggesting that this fairy shrimp has potential in terms of aquaculture development.  相似文献

Biofloc systems rely on microbial processes in the water column to recycle animal waste products, reducing the need for water exchange. These increases biofloc concentration in the water and some form of removal is needed. An experiment was carried out to evaluate two management practices to control biofloc in Litopenaeus vannamei culture. Six tanks (48 m3) were divided into two treatments: water exchange and solid settler. Shrimp were stocked at 164 shrimp m?2 and with 0.67 g of weight. After 61 days, shrimp under solid settler treatment demonstrated mean weight of 12.7 ± 0.5 g with survival of 73.8 ± 1.4%, and those under water exchange had a final weight of 10.1 ± 0.2 g and survival rate of 57.8 ± 11.1%. Total suspended solids did not differ between the treatments: 326.8 ± 24.9 mg L?1 for water exchange and 310.9 ± 25.3 mg L?1 for solid settlers. Settleable solids and productivity/respiration ratio was higher (P < 0.05) in water exchange treatment, indicating differences in physical and biological characteristics of bioflocs. Solids removal method influenced the water use, in which 1150 ± 249 L of water was necessary to produce one kilogram of shrimp using water exchange strategy, and 631 ± 25 L kg?1 with the use of settlers. Our results indicate that continuous operation of settlers can reduce variability in solids characteristics and water quality variables such as ammonia. Both strategies are efficient in controlling biofloc concentrations of the water; however, settlers can reduce water use and improve shrimp production.  相似文献

An indoor trial was conducted for 42 days to evaluate water quality, Vibrio density and growth of Litopenaeus vannamei in an integrated biofloc system (IBS) with Gracilaria birdiae. Four treatments were used, each in triplicate: Control (monoculture shrimp); IBS 2.5 (L. vannamei and 2.5 kg wet weight seaweed m?3); IBS 5.0 (L. vannamei and 5.0 kg wet weight seaweed m?3) and IBS 7.5 (L. vannamei and 7.5 wet weight seaweed m?3). Shrimp individuals (0.34 ± 0.01 g) were stocked at a density of 500 shrimp m?3. No water exchange was carried out during the experimental period. Molasses was added once a day as an organic carbon source to maintain the C:N ratio at 12:1. The IBS significantly decreased (P < 0.05) dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN) ranging from 19% to 34% (3.12–3.83 mg L?1), NO3‐N ranging from 19% to 38% (2.40–3.16 mg L?1), Vibrio density ranging from by 8–83% (0.40–2.20 log 103 colony‐forming units mL?1), and FCR ranging from by 20–30% (1.20–1.37), as compared to the control (4.73 mg L?1, 3.93 mg L?1, 2.40 log 103 colony‐forming units mL?1, and 1.74 respectively). Moreover, the IBS significantly increased (P < 0.05) crude protein in whole body shrimp, ranging from 8% to 13% (13.2–13.7% wet weight basis); as well as final weight, ranging from 25% to 32% (3.90–4.12 g), weekly growth ranging from 25% to 34% (0.59–0.63 g), and shrimp yield by 22–39% (1.72–1.96 kg m?3), as compared to control (12.1% wet weight basis, 3.12 g, 0.47 g, and 1.41 kg m?3 respectively). It can thus be concluded that cultivating Gracilaria birdiae in an IBS with L. vannamei can contribute to DIN and NO3‐N removal, lower Vibrio density, increased crude protein in whole body shrimp, higher growth and yield parameters in shrimp culture.  相似文献

Effect of different carbon sources on nursery performance of Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivated in biofloc system was investigated. Shrimp postlarvae (98.47 ± 8.6 mg) were fed for 32 days in tanks with water volume of 130 L and density of 1 individual L?1. One control treatment and four biofloc treatments (BFT1, BFT2, BFT3 and BFT4) with adding different carbon sources including molasses, starch, wheat flour and mixture of them, respectively, were considered at equal weight ratios. According to the results, salinity, dissolved oxygen and pH were not significantly different among the biofloc treatments (P > 0.05). Maximum pH (8.27) and maximum dissolved oxygen (6.35 mg L?1) were recorded in the control. Maximum (0.43 mg L?1) and minimum (0.09 mg L?1) ammonia were recorded in the control and BFT2, respectively (P < 0.05). Using simple carbohydrates (molasses and starch) lowered the ammonia concentration significantly. The highest increase in body weight (1640.43 ± 231.28 mg), growth rate, specific growth rate (8.97 ± 0.42% per day) and biomass (190.29 ± 26.83 mg) were found in BFT1 and the highest survival (90 ± 0.77%) was found in BFT4. The highest feed conversion (1.52 ± 0.23) and the lowest feed efficiency (66.81 ± 7.95) were observed in the control (P < 0.05). The proximate composition analysis revealed an increase in lipid and ash in biofloc treatments. Results indicated that using biofloc technology with zero‐water exchange system and adding carbon sources could help to recycle waste and improve the water quality. Moreover, the type of carbonaceous organic matter as a substrate for heterotrophic bacteria would be effective in degradation and metabolization of ammonia and nitrite.  相似文献

Low and unstable shrimp yields of the improved extensive shrimp system has been a tremendous obstacle for economic development in the coastal areas of Southern Vietnam. To investigate the biological characteristics of this system, ponds in the coastal Cai Nuoc district, Mekong delta of Vietnam, were monitored. Results showed that the system was not optimal for shrimp. While chlorophyll a (chl a) (1.51–37.2 μg L?1), phytoplankton density (6333–974 444 cells L?1) and zooplankton density (7.1–517.2 ind L?1) were abundant and comparable to shrimp farms elsewhere, zoobenthic community was very poor (7–1971 ind m?2). Toxin‐producing cyanobacteria (Oscillatoria limosa, Oscillatoria formosa, Anabaena sp. and Phormidium tenue) were found. Total bacteria and Vibrios were present in large numbers (respectively 1.04 × 105 and 6.64 × 102 CFU mL?1 in pond water, 6.33 × 105 and 9.47 × 103 CFU g?1 in sediment). Presence of toxin‐producing organisms, poor zoobenthic community and abundance of Vibrios all can enhance shrimp susceptibility to diseases. The following measures are recommended to improve the situation: (1) complete testing of seeds for pathogens, (2) not to incorporate fish into shrimp ponds and (3) applying no‐culture breaks and pathogen‐killing chemicals.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of dietary and water supplementation of probiotic Streptococcus phocae PI80 on growth, immune response and feed utilization of tiger shrimp Penaeus monodon in earthen ponds. The probiotic bacterium S. phocae PI80 was cultured in large fermenter (50 L) by adding additional carbon source in the form of molasses and glucose along with yeast extract as nitrogen source to enrich S. phocae PI80 biomass. This enriched S. phocae PI80 was administered to shrimp in feed (6.5 × 1013 bacterial cells mL?1) as well as in pond water (5 L/pond). Shrimp growth performance was significantly improved (P < 0.05) in 120 days culture when the average body weight of treated molasses + yeast extract (MY) (28.41 ± 0.874 g), glucose + yeast extract (GY) (27.013 ± 0.698 g) was significantly higher than control (23.63 ± 0.684 g). Food conversion ratio FCR was also found to be reduced significantly in ponds treated with probiotics when compared with control pond (1.89 ± 0.09). Vibrio and luminescent bacteria were found to be lower in the treatment receiving MY group, and we hypothesize that this may lead to greater shrimp survival. Furthermore, fermentation product of S. phocae PI80 added to pond water and feed additives enhanced the shrimp immune system. The results indicated that total haemocytes count (THC), phenoloxidase (PO) activity, NBT reductase assay and phagocytic activity significantly increased in shrimps treated with S. phocae PI80. Our study demonstrates that administration of S. phocae PI80 in the water and feed at 6.5 × 1013 colony‐forming units (CFU) mL?1 bacterial cells induce immune modulation and enhances the immune ability of P. monodon in pond‐reared shrimp and increased the shrimp production.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of different dietary lipid and fatty acids on the nutritional value of bioflocs used as a feed, as well as shrimp performance and health. A total of 1800 Litopenaeus vannamei juveniles (2.87 ± 0.01 g) were cultured in biofloc technology, with a density of 200 shrimp m?2, and fed with three isoproteic experimental diets at different lipid levels (85 g kg?1, 95 g kg?1 and 105 g kg?1); each treatment was performed in triplicate. After 61 days, no significant difference was observed (> 0.05) among the water quality parameters. For the shrimp performance, significant difference was observed (= 0.011) among the values of survival, where treatments with lower lipid levels had higher survival (92.5 ± 3.5% and 91.0 ± 2.5%). Although there are significant differences in survival, no significant differences in the total haemocytes count (THC) were observed. For other growth performance, no differences were observed (> 0.05). A positive correlation (= 0.75) has been observed between the dietary oleic acid and bioflocs. The bioflocs showed ‘long‐chain’ polyunsaturated fat acids (lcPUFA), especially arachidonic acid. The shrimp showed similar growth and stayed healthy at the end of the experimental period.  相似文献

In a Biofloc Technology System (BFT), there is constant biofloc formation and suspended solids accumulation, leading to effects on water quality parameters that may affect the growth performance of cultured shrimp. This study aimed to analyse during biofloc formation the effect of different total suspended solids (TSS) levels on water quality and the growth performance of Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp in a BFT system. A 42‐day trial was conducted with treatments of three ranges of TSS: 100–300 mg L?1 as low (TL), 300–600 as medium (TM) and 600–1000 as high (TH). The initial concentrations of 100 (TL), 300 (TM) and 600 mg L?1 (TH) were achieved by fertilization before starting the experiment. Litopenaeus  vannamei juveniles with an average weight of 4.54 ± 1.19 g were stocked at a density of 372 shrimp m?3. Physical and chemical water parameters and shrimp growth performance were analysed. After 6 weeks, TSS mean concentrations were 306.37, 532.43 and 745.2 mg L?1 for, respectively, TL, TM and TH treatments. Significant differences (P < 0.05) were observed in TSS, settleable solids, pH, alkalinity and nitrite, especially between the TL and TH treatments. Similarly, differences (P < 0.05) were observed in the growth performance parameters, specifically final weight, survival, feed conversion and productivity. The water quality parameters at lower range of total suspended solids concentration (TL) treatment resulted in a better performance of L. vannamei in the BFT system. The maintenance at range of 100–300 mg L?1 TSS is thus important to the success of shrimp culture.  相似文献

A 30‐day experiment was conducted to evaluate inorganic nitrogen control, biofloc composition and shrimp performance in zero‐exchange culture tanks for juvenile L. vannamei offered a 35% (P35) or 25% (P25) crude protein feed, each feed supplemented with additional carbohydrate to increase the C/N ratio to 20:1 (CN20) or 15:1 (CN15). Sucrose was used as a carbohydrate to manipulate the two C/N ratios based on the carbon and nitrogen content of both the feeds and sucrose. The four treatments were referred to as: P35 + CN20, P35 + CN15, P25 + CN20 and P25 + CN15. Each treatment consisted of four replicate tanks (125 L), each stocked with 28 shrimp (equivalent to 224 shrimp m?3). Bioflocs formed and developed based on initial inoculation in all four treatments; and monitored water quality parameters were maintained within acceptable ranges for shrimp culture throughout the experiment. No significant effects (> 0.05) of dietary protein level, C/N ratio or their interaction were observed on biofloc development (BFV, TSS and BFVI) and inorganic nitrogen (TAN, NO2?‐N and NO3?‐N) concentrations. At the end of the experiment, proximate analysis of the bioflocs collected from the four treatments showed crude protein levels of 21.3% ~ 32.1%, crude lipid levels of 1.6% ~ 2.8% and ash levels of 43.4% ~ 61.4%. Extracellular protease and amylase activities of the bioflocs were 9.9 ~ 14.4 U g?1 TSS and 293.5 ~ 403.8 U g?1 TSS respectively. Biofloc composition and enzyme activity were both affected by dietary protein level (< 0.01) and C/N ratio (< 0.05). Survival, per cent weight gain and protein efficiency ratio of shrimp were not affected (> 0.05) by dietary protein level, C/N ratio or their interaction; however, the feed conversion ratios were significantly lower (< 0.05) in treatments with high dietary protein (P35) compared with those in treatments with low dietary protein (P25). The results from this study demonstrate that dietary protein level and C/N ratio manipulation can have important implications for water quality, biofloc composition and shrimp performance in intensive, zero‐exchange biofloc‐based culture systems.  相似文献

A 60‐day indoor trial was conducted to study the effect of periphyton supplementation on metabolic and immune responses in tiger shrimp, Penaeus monodon. Periphyton developed over bamboo substrate in outdoor tanks (15 m2) was used as dietary supplement for P. monodon (2.02 ± 0.04 g) reared in 1000 L FRP tanks. Graded levels of periphyton were included in shrimp basal diets: 0% (P0), 3% (P3), 6% (P6), 9% (P9) and P0 diet with natural periphyton (NP) over bamboo substrate. At the end of the trial, P6 and NP showed significantly higher (P < 0.01) growth rate, 23.9% and 20%, respectively, compared with control, P0. Comparatively, lower level of metabolic enzymes, such as lactate dehydrogenase, malate dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase, was recorded in treatments P3, P6 and NP compared with control, P0. The periphyton‐supplemented group, P3 had significantly higher (P < 0.05) superoxide dismutase (15.83 ± 0.96) and catalase activity (15.73 ± 0.69) compared to 6.88 ± 2.84 and 9.15 ± 0.67 unit mg?1 protein min?1, respectively, in P0. Similarly, higher total haemocyte counts, 32.58 ± 1.30, 28.51 ± 3.12 and 27.26 ± 4.43 × 106 cells mL?1, were recorded in P6, NP and P3, respectively, compared to P0, 23.57 ± 1.80 × 106 cells mL?1. After challenge with Vibrio harveyi, P3 recorded the highest relative percentage survival 67% followed by NP (58%) and P6 (42%) compared with control. However, treatment with highest periphyton inclusion (P9) did not differ significantly with P0 on growth and immunological parameters. This study indicates that periphyton supplementation at 3–6% level improves growth, immune response and metabolic activities in P. monodon.  相似文献

By introducing recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS) in the nursery phase of the blue mussel (Mytilus edulis) (17–18 mm), we aimed at a similar growth and survival and a similar water quality compared to the commonly used flow‐through systems (FTS). To calculate water flow and size of the biofilter, a series of experiments were done to determine clearance rate (9.26 mL min?1), pseudo faeces threshold (60 000 cells Pavlova lutheri mL?1), nitrogen production (0.00065 mg TAN h?1 ind?1 and 1.6 × 10?5 mg NO2–N h?1 ind?1) and oxygen consumption (0.03 ± 0.01 mg O2 h?1 ind?1). RAS showed no significant differences in water quality (0.06 mg TAN L?1; 7.7 mg O2 L?1) and growth performance of mussel seed specific growth rate (SGR = 5% day?1) after the experimental period of 4 weeks compared with FTS. The low water refreshment, 10% per day, as well as the constant chlorophyll concentrations (9.76 ± 1.06 μg L?1), suggests the potential of RAS as culture system for mussel seed.  相似文献

The extensively farmed giant freshwater shrimp, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, can survive salinities up to 26 g L?1, but the commercially important grow‐out occurs exclusively in freshwater areas. Recent studies suggest the shrimp equally capable of growing in brackish as fresh water and a better understanding of how this species responds to changing salinity could significantly impact freshwater prawn farming in deltas and coastal areas. Here, the effect of salinity (0 and 15 g L?1) on standard metabolic rate (SMR) and critical oxygen tension (Pcrit) was measured in adult M. rosenbergii using intermittent closed respirometry. SMR was 79.8 ± 3.1 and 72.7 ± 2.9 μmol kg?1 min?1 in fresh and brackish water, respectively, with no significant difference between the two salinities (P = 0.122). During hypoxia M. rosenbergii maintained oxygen uptake down to a Pcrit of 26.3 ± 1.4 mmHg in fresh and 27.2 ± 2.0 mmHg in brackish water (P = 0.682), showing that salinity had no overall effect on oxygen conductance in the animals. These findings are in agreement with recent growth studies and provide further evidence that grow‐out phase could be accomplished in brackish water areas. Thus, the predicted intrusions of brackish water in tropical deltas as a consequence of future global warming may not impact this important production.  相似文献
