Resveratrol is a natural polyphenol and possesses many biological functions such as anti-inflammatory activity and protection against atherosclerosis and myocardial infraction. Parkinson's disease is a common progressive neurodegenerative disease. 1-Methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) is the most useful neurotoxin to induce Parkinsonism. The present study was carried out to elucidate the neuroprotective effect and possible mechanism of resveratrol on MPTP-induced striatal neuron loss. Sixty adult Balb/c mice were divided into four groups: sham operation, MPTP treatment (30 mg/kg, i.p.), MPTP combined with resveratrol administration (20 mg/kg, i.v.), and resveratrol treatment alone. Microdialysis and high-performance liquid chromatography were used to analyze dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHBA) that reflected the hydroxyl radical level. In the present study, we found MPTP chronic administration significantly induced motor coordination impairment in mice. After MPTP administration, the hydroxyl radical levels in substantia nigra were also significantly elevated and animals displayed severe neuronal loss. Resveratrol administration significantly protected mice from MPTP-induced motor coordination impairment, hydroxyl radical overloading, and neuronal loss. Our results demonstrated that resveratrol could elicit neuroprotective effects on MPTP-induced Parkinsonism through free radical scavenging.  相似文献

Xanthohumol is the principal prenylated flavonoid in hops (Humulus lupulus L.), an ingredient of beer. Xanthohumol was found to be a potent chemopreventive agent; however, no data are available concerning its neuroprotective effects. In the present study, the neuroprotective activity and mechanisms of xanthohumol in rats with middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO)-induced cerebral ischemia were examined. Treatment with xanthohumol (0.2 and 0.4 mg/kg; intraperitoneally) 10 min before MCAO dose-dependently attenuated focal cerebral ischemia and improved neurobehavioral deficits in cerebral ischemic rats. Xanthohumol treatment produced a marked reduction in infarct size compared to that in control rats. MCAO-induced focal cerebral ischemia was associated with increases in hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1α, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), and active caspase-3 protein expressions in ischemic regions. These expressions were obviously inhibited by treatment with xanthohumol. In addition, xanthohumol (3-70 μM) concentration-dependently inhibited platelet aggregation stimulated by collagen (1 μg/mL) in human platelet-rich plasma. An electron spin resonance (ESR) method was used to examine the scavenging activity of xanthohumol on free radicals which had formed. Xanthohumol (1.5 and 3 μM) markedly reduced the ESR signal intensity of hydroxyl radical (OH?) formation in the H?O?/NaOH/DMSO system. In conclusion, this study demonstrates for the first time that in addition to its originally being considered an agent preventing tumor growth, xanthohumol possesses potent neuroprotective activity. This activity is mediated, at least in part, by inhibition of inflammatory responses (i.e., HIF-1α, iNOS expression, and free radical formation), apoptosis (i.e., TNF-α, active caspase-3), and platelet activation, resulting in a reduction of infarct volume and improvement in neurobehavior in rats with cerebral ischemia. Therefore, this novel role of xanthohumol may represent high therapeutic potential for treatment or prevention of ischemia-reperfusion injury-related disorders.  相似文献

The antioxidant properties, DNA damage protective activities, and xanthine oxidase (XOD) inhibitory effect of cajaninstilbene acid (CSA) derived from pigeon pea leaves were studied in the present work. Compared with resveratrol, CSA showed stronger antioxidant properties, DNA damage protective activity, and XOD inhibition activity. The IC(50) values of CSA for superoxide radical scavenging, hydroxyl radical scavenging, nitric oxide scavenging, reducing power, lipid peroxidation, and XOD inhibition were 19.03, 6.36, 39.65, 20.41, 20.58, and 3.62 μM, respectively. CSA possessed good protective activity from oxidative DNA damage. Furthermore, molecular docking indicated that CSA was more potent than resveratrol or allopurinol to interact with the active site of XOD (calculated free binding energy: -229.71 kcal mol(-1)). On the basis of the results, we conclude that CSA represents a valuable natural antioxidant source and may potentially be applicable in health food industry.  相似文献

Recent studies have shown that soy isoflavone inhibits inducible nitric oxide (NO) synthase activities and is reported to have peroxynitrite scavenging ability. Consequently, we investigated whether isoflavones (daidzein and genistein) and extracts from soy-based products (miso, soymilk, tofu, soy sprout, black soybean, soybean, and yuba) would inhibit the reactive nitrogen species (RNS) effect in vitro and in vivo. In the in vitro experiments [including the protection of cellular DNA from peroxynitrite or sodium nitroprusside damage, an inhibitory effect on nitric oxide production from lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 cells, and nitric oxide scavenging ability], extracts from soy-based foods showed a potent antioxidant activity and an inhibiting effect on RNS activity. These effects were correlated with total isoflavone content. In the in vivo experiments, rats were given isoflavones (4.0 mg/kg bw) or soy-based product extracts (1.0 g/kg bw) orally for 1 week and were injected with vehicle H(2)O (1 mL/kg bw) or LPS (10 mg/kg bw) on the day 7. Twelve hours after treatment, the rats were killed, and blood serum was collected for analysis. The intraperitoneal administration of LPS resulted in an increase in serum nitrite, nitrate, and nitrotyrosine concentrations. These are stable metabolite end products of nitric oxide, to 4-, 16-, and 5-fold levels, (4, 10 microM and 58 +/- 14 pmol/mL), of the placebo control, respectively. Results showed that oral administration of isoflavones and extracts from soy-based products significantly decreased serum nitrite, nitrate, and nitrotyrosine levels in LPS-induced rats. This study demonstrates that soy isoflavone supplementation may inhibit RNS-induced oxidation both in vitro and in vivo.  相似文献

太湖地区冬小麦季土壤氨挥发与一氧化氮排放研究   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
采用密闭室连续抽气法和静态箱法同步研究了太湖地区冬小麦季田间小区试验中不同施氮处理的氨挥发与一氧化氮(NO)排放的规律。结果表明,麦季氨挥发主要发生在施肥后 7~10d,以基肥期挥发量最大,为NH3-N 0.49~9.36 kg/hm2,占整个麦季观测期间挥发量的60.4%~74.7 %;NO的排放则主要发生在施用基肥后的30d 内,量虽小但持续时间较长,排放速率为NO-N 0.009~0.304 mg/(m2.h),该时期总损失量为NO-N 0.68~1.23 kg/hm2,约占整个麦季观测期排放量的 93%。氨挥发和 NO 排放均随施氮量的增加而增加。各施氮处理麦季观测期的氨挥发总损失量为NH3-N 7.6~12.6 kg/hm2,损失率4.62%~5.26%;NO排放总量为NO-N 0.73~1.3 kg/hm2,损失率0.27%~0.41%。研究结果对综合评价太湖地区麦季氮肥的气态损失及其环境效应、指导合理施肥都具有重要意义。  相似文献

The present study investigates the bioavailability of resveratrol and quercetin in humans, mice, and rats after oral ingestion of grape juice preparations or pure aglycones. Oral administration of resveratrol and quercetin to humans yielded detectable levels of resveratrol, quercetin, and their derivatives in the plasma and urine. Urinary levels of resveratrol, quercetin, and their metabolites were observed in human subjects receiving 600 and 1200 mL of grape juice, whereas quercetin metabolites were identified in urine samples even after receiving 200 mL of grape juice. The cumulative amounts of resveratrol and quercetin excreted in the urine of mice receiving concentrated grape juice for 4 days were 2.3 and 0.7% of the ingested doses, respectively. After i.g. administration of resveratrol to rats (2 mg/kg), up to 1.2 microM resveratrol was observed in the plasma. The study demonstrates that the glycoside forms of resveratrol and quercetin in grape juice are absorbed to a lesser extent than the aglycones.  相似文献

This study aimed at evaluating the protective effect of long-term dietary oregano on the alleviation of carbon tetrachloride-induced oxidative stress in rats. Twenty-four female Wistar rats were allocated to four groups of six animals each. Groups 1 (control) and 2 (CCl 4) were fed a basal diet, while groups 3 (oregano) and 4 (oregano + CCl 4) were fed the basal diet supplemented further with ground oregano at 1% level. Following six-week feeding, the rats of groups 2 and 4 were given a single intraperitoneal injection of CCl 4 at a dose of 1 mL/kg bw. Six hours after the CCl 4 injection, all animals were sacrificed, and serum, liver, kidney, and heart tissue samples were collected. Analysis results showed that the addition of oregano significantly increased the total phenolic content and the Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity of the basal diet but had no effect on its lipid peroxidation index. Treatment with CCl 4 of rats from the CCl 4 group caused a significant increase in aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in serum, whereas it decreased cholesterol and triglyceride content as compared to the control. It also increased the lipid peroxidation index and decreased the scavenging activities of the 2,2-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid diammonium salt (ABTS) radical cation, the hydroxyl anion radical, the superoxide anion radical, and the hydrogen peroxide in all tested tissues, as compared to that of the control. Without CCl 4 treatment, diet supplementation with oregano had no effect on these biochemical parameters, excluding the hydroxyl radical scavenging activity, which was increased in all tested tissues as compared to that of the control. Feeding oregano before CCl 4 treatment resulted in a significant decline of the increase in AST, ALT, and ALP activities ( P < 0.05 vs CCl 4 group), but the recorded values could not attain those of the control group ( P < 0.05 vs control group). It significantly increased the reduced cholesterol and triglycerides ( P < 0.05 vs CCl 4 group) to values not differing from those of the control. It also resulted in a significant reduction of the increased malondialdehyde ( P < 0.05 vs CCl 4 group) to values that could not attain the levels of the control but had no significant effect ( P > 0.05) on the reduced ABTS radical cation scavenging activity. It increased significantly the reduced hydroxyl anion radical scavenging activity ( P < 0.05 vs CCl 4 group) to values that could not attain those of the control in all tested tissues except kidney. Additionally, it resulted in a significant elevation of the decreased superoxide anion radical scavenging activity in serum and liver but had no effect in kidney and heart, whereas it also resulted in a significant elevation of the decreased hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity in liver, kidney, and heart but had no effect in serum. These results suggest that dietary oregano may effectively improve the impaired antioxidant status in CCl 4-induced toxicity in rats.  相似文献

为探讨NO处理对采后绿芦笋木质化合成的调控机理。以0.2mmol/L的硝普钠为一氧化氮供体,以蒸馏水处理为对照,研究了NO对采后绿芦笋总酚、木质素含量;木质素合成关键酶(苯丙氨酸解氨酶、肉桂醇脱氢酶、过氧化物酶、多酚氧化酶);抗氧化能力(1,1-二苯基-2-三硝基苯肼自由基清除率、超氧阴离子自由基(O2.-)清除率、羟基自由基(·OH)清除率)及膜透性的影响,结果表明,与对照相比,NO处理可延缓采后绿芦笋木质素含量和膜透性的增加,抑制肉桂醇脱氢酶和多酚氧化酶活性,增强抗氧化能力,诱导过氧化物酶活性增强,但对苯丙氨酸解氨酶活性和总酚含量的影响不显著。说明NO处理是通过抑制肉桂醇脱氢酶和多酚氧化酶活性、提高抗氧化能力而延缓采后绿芦笋的木质化进程。研究结果可为NO在绿芦笋保鲜中的应用提供理论依据和技术方法。  相似文献

Potassium bromate (KBrO3) is an oxidizing agent used as a food additive which causes kidney damage as a potent nephrotoxic agent, and the mechanism may be explained by the generation of oxygen free radicals. Our experiments showed that single intraperitoneal administration of 200 mg/kg KBrO3 could induce serious kidney damage, with an increase in serum blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine levels. Five-day oral administration of bilberry ( Vaccinium myrtillus L.) extract at 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg resulted in a reversal in serum BUN and creatinine to normal levels and decreased kidney malondialdehyde (MDA), nitric oxide (NO), and xanthine oxidase (XOD) levels. Also, bilberry extract improved oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) levels in kidney tissue, which showed that bilberry extract reduced the degree of oxidative stress and kidney damage induced by KBrO3. These findings demonstrate that the protective effect of bilberry extract is attributed to its free radical scavenging activity and lipid peroxidation inhibitory effect.  相似文献

Virgin olive oil (VOO) contains the polyphenols hydroxytyrosol (HT) and hydroxytyrosol acetate (HT-AC). This study investigated the antiplatelet effect of HT and HT-AC in healthy rats and compared their effects to acetylsalicylic acid (ASA). All compounds were administered orally for 7 days. HT and HT-AC inhibited platelet aggregation in whole blood, with a 50% inhibitory dose (ID50) of 48.25 mg/kg per day for HT, 16.05 mg/kg per day for HT-AC, and 2.42 mg/kg per day for ASA. Platelet synthesis of thromboxane B2 was inhibited by up to 30% by HT and 37% by HT-AC; the ID50 of this effect for ASA was 1.09 mg/kg per day. Vascular prostacyclin production was inhibited by up to 27.5% by HT and 32% by HT-AC; the ID50 of this effect for ASA was 6.75 mg/kg per day. Vascular nitric oxide production was increased by up to 34.2% by HT, 66% by HT-AC, and 64% by ASA. We conclude that HT and HT-AC administered orally inhibited platelet aggregation in rats and that a decrease in thromboxane synthesis along with an increase in nitric oxide production contributed to this effect.  相似文献

The neuroprotective and antioxidative activities of five organosulfur compounds with a thioallyl structure (-S-CH2CH=CH2) were characterized in terms of structure-activity relationships. Among five organosulfur compounds, only S-allyl-L-cysteine (SAC) having the alanyl group (-CH2CH-NH2-COOH) and lacking the oxo (O=) group with in between molecular properties, was effective in protecting cell death induced by both oxygen glucose deprivation and global cerebral ischemia. Conversely, lipophillic organosulfur compounds including diallyl sulfide, diallyl disulfide, and diallyl trisulfide were devoid of in vitro and in vivo neuroprotective activities. Furthermore, a significant correlation was only found between the in vivo neuroprotective activity and the OH- scavenging activity (gamma = 0.55 and p = 0.032) among reactive oxygen species scavenging activities. These results indicate that the presence of the alanyl group and the absence of the oxo group are essential for the manifestation of neuroprotective activity against ischemic insults and scavenging of OH radical, with SAC surfacing as a potent neuroprotectant.  相似文献

Effect of dietary supplementation of two types of rice bran fraction on blood pressure (BP), lipid profile, and glucose metabolism in stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats was studied. Male 4-week-old rats were divided into one group fed the AIN-93M-based control (C) diet and two groups fed diet supplemented with 60 g/kg of Driselase and ethanol fractions (DF and EF, respectively) of rice bran. After 8 weeks feeding, the BP decreased in the DF and EF groups in comparison with the C group (p < 0.01). Plasma ACE inhibitory activity, BUN, BUN/creatinine ratio, albumin, triglyceride, and glucose levels were lower in the DF and EF groups than in the C group (p < 0.01). Plasma nitric oxide and urinary 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine levels were lower in the DF and EF groups than in the C group (p < 0.01). Rice bran fractions appear to have a beneficial dietary component that improves hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and hyperglycemia.  相似文献

Anthocyanins, present in fruits and vegetables as natural colorants, have been well characterized to possess bioactive properties. Anthocyanin components extracted from black rice (Oryza sativa L. indica) separated by gel filtration and identified using LC-MS were cyanidin 3-glucoside and peonidin 3-glucoside. A standardized extract of black rice pigmented fraction (BRE) containing known proportions of cyanidin 3-glucoside and peonidin 3-glucoside exhibited marked antioxidant activities and free radical scavenging capacities in a battery of in vitro model systems. Significant (p < 0.05) prevention of supercoiled DNA strand scission induced by reactive oxygen species (specifically, peroxyl radical and hydroxyl radicals) and suppression of the oxidative modification of human low-density lipoprotein was obtained with BRE. In addition, BRE reduced (p < 0.05) the formation of nitric oxide by suppressing inducible nitric oxide synthase expression in murine macrophage RAW264.7 cells, without introducing cell toxicity. The results of this study show that black rice contains anthocyanin pigments with notable antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties for potential use in nutraceutical or functional food formulations.  相似文献

Antioxidant-rich fractions were extracted from grape (Vitis vinifera) pomace using ethyl acetate, methanol, and water. The extracts were screened for their potential as antioxidants in different models. The ethyl acetate, methanol, and water extracts showed 76, 87.1, and 21.7% antioxidant activities at 100 ppm, respectively, using the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl model system. As the methanol extract of grape pomace showed maximum antioxidant activity among all of the extracts, it was selected to determine its effect on lipid peroxidation, hydroxyl radical scavenging activity, and human low-density lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation. The methanol extract showed 71.7, 73.6, and 91.2% inhibition using the thiobarbituric acid method, hydroxyl radical scavenging activity, and LDL oxidation, respectively, at 200 ppm. Treatment of albino rats of the Wistar strain with a single dose of CCl(4) at 1.25 mL/kg of body weight decreases the activities of catalase, superoxide dismutase (SOD), and peroxidase by 81, 49, and 89%, respectively, whereas the lipid peroxidation value increased nearly 3-fold. Pretreatment of the rats with the methanolic extract of grape pomace at 50 mg/kg (in terms of catechin equivalents) followed by CCl(4) treatment causes restoration of catalase, SOD, and peroxidase by 43.6, 73.2, and 54%, respectively, as compared with control, whereas lipid peroxidation was restored to values comparable with the control. Histopathological studies of the liver of different groups also support the protective effects exhibited by the methanol extract of grape pomace by restoring the normal hepatic architecture. Owing to this property, the studies on grape pomace can be further extended to exploit its possible application for the preservation of food products as well as a health supplement and neutraceutical.  相似文献

The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of adenosine 5'-monophosphate (AMP) in stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRSP). Male rats (10 weeks old) were divided into three groups: a control group fed an AIN-93 M diet and two others fed supplemental AMP (17.5 and 87.5 mg/kg diet) for 3 weeks. AMP effectively improved hypertension, plasma triglyceride, and HDL-cholesterol, glucose, kidney function parameters, hepatic lipid, enhances plasma nitric oxide, and plasma adiponectin accompanied by the up-regulation of mRNA expression levels of the hepatic adiponectin receptor 2. Single and chronic oral administration of AMP affected the hepatic mRNA expression levels of genes involved in β-oxidation, fatty acid synthesis, and AMP-activated protein kinase. Furthermore, a single oral dose of AMP (40 mg/kg body weight) improved hypertension and hyperglycemia in SHRSP. In conclusion, AMP displays a novel effect in ameliorating metabolic-related diseases in SHRSP and could be beneficial as a functional food.  相似文献

To investigate the effects of amla on renal dysfunction involved in oxidative stress during the aging process, we employed young (2 months old) and aged (13 months old) male rats and administered SunAmla (Taiyo Kagaku Co., Ltd., Japan) or an ethyl acetate (EtOAc) extract of amla, a polyphenol-rich fraction, at a dose of 40 or 10 mg/kg body weight/day for 100 days. The administration of SunAmla or EtOAc extract of amla reduced the elevated levels of serum creatinine and urea nitrogen in the aged rats. In addition, the tail arterial blood pressure was markedly elevated in aged control rats as compared with young rats, while the systolic blood pressure was significantly decreased by the administration of SunAmla or EtOAc extract of amla. Furthermore, the oral administration of SunAmla or EtOAc extract of amla significantly reduced thiobarbituric acid-reactive substance levels of serum, renal homogenate, and mitochondria in aged rats, suggesting that amla would ameliorate oxidative stress under aging. The increases of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 expression in the aorta of aging rats were also significantly suppressed by SunAmla extract or EtOAc extract of amla, respectively. Moreover, the elevated expression level of bax, a proapoptotic protein, was significantly decreased after oral administration of SunAmla or EtOAc extract of amla. However, the level of bcl-2, an antiapoptotic protein, did not show any difference among the groups. The expressions of renal nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-kappaB), inhibitory kappaB in cytoplasm, iNOS, and COX-2 protein levels were also increased with aging. However, SunAmla or EtOAc extract of amla reduced the iNOS and COX-2 expression levels by inhibiting NF-kappaB activation in the aged rats. These results indicate that amla would be a very useful antioxidant for the prevention of age-related renal disease.  相似文献

To determine whether green tea polyphenol ameliorates the pathological conditions induced by excessive dietary arginine, green tea polyphenol was administered to rats at a daily dose of 50 or 100 mg/kg body weight for 30 days with a 2% w/w arginine diet. In arginine-fed control rats, urinary and/or serum levels of guanidino compounds, nitric oxide (NO), urea, protein, and glucose increased significantly, while the renal activities of the oxygen species-scavenging enzymes superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase decreased, compared with casein-fed rats. However, rats given green tea polyphenol showed significant and dose-dependent decreases in serum levels of creatinine (Cr) and urea nitrogen and urinary excretion of Cr, and they exerted a slight reduction of nitrite plus nitrate, indicating that green tea polyphenol reduced the production of uremic toxins and NO. In addition, in arginine-fed rats the urinary urea, protein, and glucose level increases were reversed by the administration of green tea polyphenol. Moreover, in rats given green tea polyphenol the SOD and catalase activities suppressed by excessive arginine administration increased dose-dependently, implying the biological defense system was augmented as a result of free radical scavenging. These results suggest that green tea polyphenol would ameliorate renal failure induced by excessive dietary arginine by decreasing uremic toxin, and NO production and increasing radical-scavenging enzyme activity.  相似文献

The effects of natural antioxidants on nitric oxide (NO) modulation and oxidative status were determined in rat epithelial lung cells (L-2). Cells were stimulated with cytokines and treated with one of the following: resveratrol, soybean saponin group B (SSB), quercetin, genistein, olive leaf polyphenol concentrate (OLPC), or N-acetyl-L-cystein (NAC). NAC had no effect on NO levels, whereas resveratrol and OLPC were found to be effective in reducing nitrite levels, modifying iNOS mRNA, and decreasing free radical production. OLPC affected the levels of MnSOD while resveratrol did not, indicating that they act via different pathways. Quercetin and genistein reduced nitrite levels without affecting iNOS levels, presumably by scavenging NO. SSB did not affect nitrite levels, but exposure did reduce iNOS mRNA expression and protein levels, possibly due to antioxidant activity. Naturally occurring antioxidants, in particular resveratrol and OLPC, may have therapeutic potential in the treatment of inflammatory diseases.  相似文献

Under acidic conditions, nitrite is protonated to nitrous acid (pK(a) = 3.2-3.4) that can be transformed into nitric oxide by self-decomposition and reduction. When sodium nitrite was mixed with quercetin at pH 1-2, quercetin was oxidized producing nitric oxide. In addition to quercetin, kaempferol and quercetin 4'-glucoside were also oxidized by nitrous acid, but oxidation of apigenin, luteolin, and rutin was slow compared to oxidation of the above flavonols. These results suggested that flavonols, which have a free hydroxyl group at carbon position 3, can readily reduce nitrous acid to nitric oxide. When the pH of saliva was decreased to 1-2, formation of nitric oxide was observed. The nitric oxide formation was enhanced by quercetin, and during this process quercetin was oxidized. These results indicate that there is a possibility of reactions between phenolics and nitrous acid derived from salivary nitrite in the stomach.  相似文献

Anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative activities of anthocyanidins and anthocyanin-rich black soybean seed coats were studied in HT-29 human colon adenocarcinoma cells and carcinogen-treated F344 rats, respectively. Cyanidin and delphinidin significantly inhibited cell growth at concentrations of >or=1 microM. Anthocyanidins suppressed cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) mRNAs in TPA-stimulated HT-29 cells. Both yellow and black soybean seed coat supplementation (10%, w/w) did not significantly reduce the number of aberrant crypt foci (ACF), although a modest decrease in the number of ACF was observed in animals fed soybean seed coats. The colonic COX-2 mRNA level was suppressed in rats fed both soybean seed coat diet. The plasma prostaglandin E 2 (PGE 2) level was reduced only in rats fed black soybean seed coats. No difference was observed in either colonic iNOS mRNA or plasma nitric oxide level. These results indicate that anthocyanidins are possible anti-inflammatory agents; however, further studies are required to determine required intake levels in vivo to exert antitumor effect.  相似文献
