Sexual polyploids were induced in diploid (2n = 2x = 24) interspecific F1 hybrids of Longiflorum × Asiatic (LA) and Oriental × Asiatic (OA) Lilium hybrids by backcrossing to Asiatic (AA) parents as well as by sib-mating of the F1 LA hybrids. A majority of the BC1 progenies were triploid and the progenies from sib-mating were tetraploid or near tetraploids. Genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) technique was applied to assess the intergenomic recombination in the BC1 populations of LA and OA hybrids obtained after unilateral sexual polyploidization. A total of 63 LA (LA × AA and AA × LA) and 53 OA hybrids were analysed. LA hybrids were originated through the functioning of 2n gametes either as 2n eggs or 2n pollen while those of OA hybrids originated through functional 2n pollen of diploid OA genotype. In both type of crosses, a majority of the progenies had originated through First Division Restitution (FDR) mechanism of functional 2n gamete either with or without a cross over. However, there were nine LA- and four OA-genotypes where Indeterminate Meiotic Restitution (IMR) was the mechanism of 2n gamete formation. Based on GISH, total amount of introgression of Longiflorum and Oriental genome into Asiatic genome was determined. Most of the BC progenies exhibited recombination and the amount of recombination was higher in LA hybrids as compared to OA hybrids. Intergenomic recombination was also determined cytologically in the 16 plants of sib-mated LA hybrids where both parents had contributed 2n gametes. Based on these results the nature of interspecific lily hybrids obtained from uni- and bilateral sexual polyploidization leading to allotriploid and allotetraploid formation is discussed in the context of introgression and intergenomic recombination.  相似文献

In this research, we used two sets of cotton aneuploid (G. hirsutum × G. tomentosum and G. hirsutum × G. barbadense) plants to locate AFLP markers to chromosomes using deletion analysis method. Thirty-eight primer combinations were used to generate 608 polymorphic AFLP markers. A total of 98 AFLP markers were assigned to 22 different cotton chromosomes or chromosome arms. Of those assigned markers, 63.3% were assigned to A genome and 36.7% were assigned to D genome. A low rate (14.3%) of common markers were found between those assigned AFLP markers with the AFLP markers from an intraspecific cross population developed previous in our lab. Based on the 16 common markers, we were able to associate the 13 linkage groups previously identified in our lab to eight chromosomes. Further research will be carried out by using SSR markers with known location to associate unassigned linkage groups to chromosomes.  相似文献

Interspecific hybridization of various tuberous Begonia species hybrids with Begonia socotrana results in so-called ‘Elatior’-begonias hybrids (B. × hiemalis Fotsch). In our study, genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) has been employed to assess the genome composition in eleven ‘Elatior’-begonias hybrids and their ancestor genotypes. Genomic DNA of tuberous Begonia was sonicated to 1–10-kb fragments, labelled by nick translation with digoxigenin-11-dUTP and used as a probe whereas B. socotrana DNA was autoclaved to 100 bp fragments and used as block. The genome of tuberous Begonia was clearly pronounced in ‘Elatior’-begonias when the probe concentration was ~3.75 ng/μl (150 ng/slide), with 30 times the excess of B. socotrana blocking DNA and stringency of post hybridization washings at 73% (0.1× SSC at 42°C). In ‘Elatior’-begonias hybrids GISH distinguished two groups comprising short (0.6–1.03 μm in length) and relatively longer chromosomes (1.87–3.88 μm) which represent B. socotrana and tuberous Begonia genomes, respectively. The number of chromosomes derived from tuberous Begonia ranged from 14 to 56 and for B. socotrana from 7 to 28 which suggest the presence of different ploidy levels in analyzed ‘Elatior’-begonia hybrids. Intergenomic recombination has not been detected through GISH in hybrids analyzed. Genomic in situ hybridization turned out to be useful to identify the genome constitution of ‘Elatior’-begonia hybrids and thus gain an insight into the origins of these cultivars. This knowledge on the ploidy level and genome composition is essential for further progress in breeding Begonias.  相似文献

Psathyrostachys huashanica Keng ex Kuo (2n = 2x = 14, NsNs), a source of wheat stripe rust, take-all fungus, and powdery mildew resistance with tolerance to salinity and drought, has been successfully hybridized as the pollen parent to bread wheat without using immature embryo rescuing culture for the first time. All of the CSph2b × P. huashanica hybrid seeds germinate well. Backcross derivatives were successfully obtained. F1 hybrids were verified as intergeneric hybrids on the basis of morphological observation, cytological and molecular analyses. The results obviously showed the phenotypes of the hybrid plants were intermediate between bread wheat and P. huashanica. Chromosome pairing at MI of PMCs in the F1 hybrid plants was low, and the meiotic configuration was 26.80 I + 0.60 II (rod). Cytological analysis of the hybrid plants revealed the ineffectiveness of the ph2b gene on chromosome association between the parents. Eight RAPD-specific markers for Ns genome were selected for RAPD analysis, and the results indicated that F1 hybrids contained the Ns genome of P. huashanica. Furthermore, the significance of the finding for bread wheat improvement was discussed.  相似文献

Interspecific hybrids from crosses between H. syriacus × H. paramutabilis and H. syriacus × H. sinosyriacus were obtained. In both cases unilateral incongruity was observed and reciprocal crosses yielded no fruits. In vitro embryo rescue, 11 weeks after pollination, increased the germination capacity of H. syriacus × H. sinosyriacus embryos, while this was not the case for H. syriacus × H. paramutabilis embryos. However, a lot of the generated H. syriacus × H. sinosyriacus seedlings were lost due to variegated and total albinism. In the progeny of H. syriacus ‘Oiseau Bleu’ × H. paramutabilis about 95% of the seedlings had an intermediate flower and leaf morphology compared to both parent plants. Leaves on the adult F1 hybrids showed a polymorphism. In total four different leaf types could be observed on the same plant. This leaf polymorphism also was seen in the progeny of H. syriacus ‘Melwhite’ × H. sinosyriacus ‘Lilac Queen’. In this progeny about 50% of the seedlings had an intermediate flower and leaf morphology compared with the parent plants. The hybrid nature of the seedlings of both progenies was also confirmed by AFLP analysis. Despite the low germination vigour of the pollen of the hybrids, a small F2 generation was obtained from H. syriacus ‘Oiseau Bleu’ × H. paramutabilis.  相似文献

The present study evaluated the individual plants reaction of F2 hybrid generation of C. annuum: ATZ1 × PO and ATZ1 × CDT as well as two interspecific hybrids: C. frutescens × C. annuum ATM1 and C. frutescens × C. chinense on androgenesis conditions in in vitro anther cultures. The experiment was carried out following a modified method of Dumas de Vaulx et al. (Agronomie 1:859–864, 1981). There were demonstrated clear differences in the effectiveness of androgenesis both between the pepper hybrid forms as well as among individual plants of all the genotypes tested. The highest effectiveness of androgenic embryos development was observed for the cultivated form of C. annuum: (ATZ1 × PO)F2. Anthers of most of the plants of this hybrid produced embryos at the level higher than 5%, while in anther cultures of the second C. annuum hybrid (ATZ1 × CDT)F2 almost 3-fold fewer embryos and plants were produced. Anthers isolated from flower buds of interspecific hybrids formed much lower number of embryos. A positive reaction was recorded for five hybrid plants of (C. frutescens × C. annuum ATM1)F2, while in case of (C. frutescens × C. chinense)F2 androgenic embryos were obtained from anthers of two plants. Only in the case of a one of these plants did the effectiveness of androgenesis exceed 5%. The ploidy level of the regenerants was determined by flow cytometry. Among the regenerants there were observed both haploid forms and the plants with the diploid number of chromosomes.  相似文献

Interspecific hybrids were produced from reciprocal crosses between Brassica napus (2n = 38, AACC) and B. oleracea var. alboglabra (2n = 18, CC) to introgress the zero-erucic acid alleles from B. napus into B. oleracea. The ovule culture embryo rescue technique was applied for production of F1 plants. The effects of silique age, as measured by days after pollination (DAP), and growth condition (temperature) on the efficiency of this technique was investigated. The greatest numbers of hybrids per pollination were produced under 20°/15°C (day/night) at 16 DAP for B. oleracea (♀) × B. napus crosses, while under 15°/10°C at 14 DAP for B. napus (♀) × B. oleracea crosses. Application of the ovule culture technique also increased the efficiency of BC1 (F1 × B. oleracea) hybrid production by 10-fold over in vivo seed set. The segregation of erucic acid alleles in the self-pollinated backcross generation, i.e. in BC1S1 seeds, revealed that the gametes of the F1 and BC1 plants carrying a greater number of A-genome chromosomes were more viable. This resulted in a significantly greater number of intermediate and a smaller number of high-erucic acid BC1S1 seeds.  相似文献

The cytogenetic study was investigated in the intergeneric F1 hybrid, F2and backcross progenies (BC1). The plants used were Brassica juncea(2n=36) and Diplotaxis virgata(2n=18). Three intergeneric F1 hybrids between two species were produced through ovary culture. They showed 36 chromosomes. It might consist one genome of B. juncea and two genomes of D. virgata. The morphology of the leaves resembled that of B. juncea. The color of the petals was yellow that was like in D. virgata. The size of the petal was similar to that of B. juncea. The mean pollen fertility was15.3% and the chromosome associations in the first meiotic division were(0–1)IV+(0–2)III+(8–12)II+(12–20)I. Many F2 and BC1seeds were harvested after open pollination and backcross of the F1 hybrids withB. juncea, respectively. The F2seedlings showed different chromosome constitutions and the range was from 28 to54 chromosomes. Most seedlings had 38chromosomes followed by 36, 40 and 54. The BC1 seedlings also showed different chromosome constitutions and the range was from 29 to 62. Most seedlings had both 40and 54 chromosomes followed by 36, 46 and52. In the first meiotic division of F2 and BC1 plants, a high frequency of bivalent associations was observed in all the various kinds of somatic chromosomes. Many F3 and BC2 seeds were obtained by self-pollination and open pollination of both F2 and BC1 plants, and by backcrossing both F2 and BC1plants with B. juncea, respectively, especially, three type progeny with 36, 40or 54 chromosomes. The somatic chromosomes of the F3 and BC2 plants were further investigated. The bridge plants between B. juncea and D. virgata with 36 chromosomes may be utilized for breeding of other Brassica crops as well as B. juncea. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) was used to characterize the chromosome constitutions of individual plants from a set of tetraploid and hexaploid cultivars of Festulolium developed and released in the Czech Republic from hybrids of Lolium multiflorum with Festuca pratensis and F. arundinacea. A simplified GISH protocol readily discriminated parental genomes in the hybrids and facilitated the screening of large numbers of plants per accession. The contribution of parental genomes in the cultivars tested ranged from predominance of chromatin from one of the parents to a more balanced contribution from both parents. However, in none of the cultivars were equal proportions of chromatin from both parents present. The parental contribution to the hybrids was both in the form of complete chromosomes or as chromosome translocations. In hexaploid cultivars from (L. multiflorum × F. arundinacea) × F. arundinacea hybrids the average numbers of complete L. multiflorum chromosomes ranged from 4.95 to 7.5 and the numbers of translocations from 6.33 to 10.21. Two tetraploid cultivars from (L. multiflorum × F. arundinacea) × L. multiflorum hybrids showed a strong prevalence of L. multiflorum chromatin and intergeneric translocations were rare. In the tetraploid cultivar ‘Perun’ of the L. multiflorum × F. pratensis hybrid there were 11.7 chromosomes of L. multiflorum and 14.7 recombined chromosomes on average. Reasons for the domination of one of the parental genomes in hybrid cultivars are not clear and are only partially explained by breeding history. Recombination rates of individual genomes in hybrids involving F. arundinacea were evaluated in double hybridization experiments. The results indicated a strong affinity of the L. multiflorum genome for the F. pratensis genome present in F. arundinacea and little affinity for the F. glaucescens genome. This suggests that introgressions from F. arundinacea into L. multiflorum are primarily limited to the F. pratensis genome which can be more readily accessed in L. multiflorum × F. pratensis hybrids.  相似文献

Ploidy level and intergenomic recombination was studied in interspecific hybrids between Longiflorum × Asiatic lilies (LA hybrid) backcross to Asiatic parents in order to assess the possibility for analytic breeding in lily. By backcrossing the diploid (2n = 2x = 24) F1 interspecific hybrid between Longiflorum × Asiatic lilies to Asiatic parents, 104 BC1 progeny plants were produced. Among these, there were 27 diploids, 73 triploids (2n = 2x = 36) and 4 aneuploids (2x − 1, 2x + 2 or 2x + 3). In addition, by backcrossing triploid BC1 (LAA) plants to diploid Asiatic parents in 2x − 3x and reciprocal combinations, 14 diploid BC2 progenies were produced. Genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) was performed to study the intergenomic recombination and karyotype composition. GISH indicated extensive intergenomic recombination among the chromosomes in LA hybrids. A large number of Longiflorum chromosomes were transmitted to the BC1 progenies from LA hybrids. However, very few Longiflorum chromosomes were transmitted from the BC1 triploid (LAA) plants to the BC2 progenies. The occurrence of diploid plants in the BC progenies of LA hybrids has opened the prospects of analytic breeding in lilies. In this approach, the selection of superior genotypes can be carried out at the diploid level and polyploid forms are synthesized from superior diploid parents. The advantages of analytic breeding are evident: (a) a maximum level of heterozygosity can be attained in the synthetic polyploids and (b) introgression can be achieved with a minimum of linkage drag. Based on GISH results the potential application of analytic breeding in lily allopolyploids has been discussed.  相似文献

The F1 hybrids of seven diploid Alstroemeria species (2n=2x=16) were investigated for the production of numerically unreduced (2n) gametes and their mode of origin. Based on a survey of 17 interspecific hybrid combinations, consisting of 119 genotypes, it was found that the F1 hybrids of Chilean-Brazilian species mostly produced first division restitution (FDR) 2n gametes. These F1 hybrids were self-pollinated in order to obtain F2 seeds, which was an indication that the F1 plants also produced 2neggs simultaneously. All the F2 progeny plants were typical allotetraploids, most of which formed 16 bivalents and a small proportion formed multivalents during metaphase I stages of meiosis. Through genomic in situ hybridisation (GISH) it was proved that multivalent formation in F2plants, derived from A. inodora ×A. pelegrina hybrid, was due to homoeologous recombination but not from reciprocal translocations. In order to test the segregation pattern of the recombinant chromosomes, an F3 population from one genotype, P6C49-6, was investigated. The recombinant chromosomes assorted independently from each other supporting the hypothesis that the segregation of chromosomes in ring quadrivalents did not behave like those in translocation heterozygotes. It was concluded that in allopolyploids of Alstroemeria, bilateral sexual polyploidisation could accomplish genetic recombination by both homoeologous crossing-over as well as through the assortment of chromosomes. Interspecific hybridization plays a crucial role in plant genetics and breeding. The efficiency of interspecific crosses to a considerable extent depends on the genetic relatedness of genomes from parental species. Interspecific hybrids involving Brassica maurorum (2n = 16, MM) and two Brassica crop species, viz B. rapa (2n = 20, AA) and B. napus (2n = 38, AACC), were produced and analyzed for their meiotic chromosome pairings in pollen mother cells (PMCs) by using genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) with the labeled DNA of B. maurorum (MM) as probe. In hybrids B. maurorum × B. rapa (2n = 18, MA), all chromosomes remained unpaired in 28% PMCs, and the maximum of autosyndetic bivalents was two and one among the chromosomes of A and M genomes, with the average per cell being 0.27 and 0.12, respectively. Up to two allosyndetic bivalents between A and M genomes appeared, averagely 0.48 per cell. In hybrids B. maurorum × B. napus (2n = 27, MAC), the maximum of autosyndetic bivalents in M genome was two and the average was 0.11, while the maximum of allosyndetic bivalents between M and A/C genomes was two and the average was 0.78. The 2–7 bivalents formed by A/C-genome chromosomes showed their high homology. The results were compared and discussed with the chromosome pairings in the hybrids of B. maurorum with B. juncea and B. carinata with respect to the genome relationships and the potential for chromosome recombination.  相似文献

In order to introgress the ‘glandless-seed and glanded-plant’ trait from Gossypium sturtianum Willis (2n= 2x= 26, C1 genome) into the cultivated upland cotton Gossypium hirsutum L. (2n= Ax= 52 (AD), genome), two trispecific hybrids have been created using either Gossypium thurberi Torado (2n= 2x= 26, D1 genome) or Gossypium raimondii Ulbrich (2n= 2x= 26, D5 genome) as bridge species. The cross of both trispecific hybrids by G. hirsutum produced the first backcross progenies (BCl). Cytogenetic analysis showed that the trispecific hybrids had 52 chromosomes, their chromosome configurations at metaphase I (Ml) being 15.071 + 15.3411 + 0.93III + 0.69IV + 0.26VI in G. thurberi×G. sturtianum×G. hirsutum (TSH) and 14.421 + 17.0311 + 0.82III + 0.15IV + 0.07VI in G. hirsutum × G. raimondii ×. G. sturtianum (HRS), respectively. Among six BCl plants analysed, the only plant expressing the ‘glandless-seed and glanded-plant’ trait had 52 chromosomes and a meiotic configuration of 5.261 + 20.61II + 0.69III + 0.77IV at MI. Pollen fertility was 2.90% in TSH, 8.97% in HRS, and ranged from 0% to 40.28% in the BCl progenies. The introgressed BCl plant is perennial in growth habit. It can be used in breeding programmes aiming at the introgression of the ‘glandless-seed and glanded-plant’ trait into a cultivar of upland cotton.  相似文献

Summary A population of 2xms sugar beets was crossed with 4x Beta lomatogona F. et M. The 3x F1-plants were male sterile and were backcrossed with 2x and 4x sugar beets and multiplied without pollination as well. After the 1st backcross mainly 3x apomict types arose again and, among others, a small number of successful 4x backcrosses. After pollination by 4x sugar beets this 4x F1 B1 produced. besides predominatly apomictically multiplied 4x plants, also about 7% haploid 2x hybrids. The latter probably possess 1 genome from B. vulgaris and 1 genome from B. lomatogona. In the meiosis of the PMC's a certain amount of homeology between a number of chromosomes of both species could be established. The amphihaploid hybrids can be used as breeding parents for the creation of types in which introgession can occur. During hybridization in addition to 2x and 4x B. vulgaris types a number of 2x-, 3x-, 5x- and 6x-hybrids arose. This is presumably caused by the presence of gametes with the somatic number of chromosomes and the occurrence sometimes of haploid apomictic multiplication. The presence of large numbers of bolters in the F1 and F1 B1 suggests that the bolting tendency of both species is based on different genes.  相似文献

Wheat-barley translocations were identified by genomicin situ hybridization (GISH) in backcross progenies originating from in vitro regenerated wheat (Triticum aestivum L. cv. Chinese Spring) × barley (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Betzes) hybrids. The regenerated hybrids were pollinated with the wheat line Martonvásári 9 kr1. Five translocated wheat-barley chromosomes were recovered among 51 BC2F2 progeny from the in vitro regenerated wheat × barley hybrids. All were single breakpoint translocations with the relative positions of the breakpoints ranging from the centromere to about 0.8 of the relative arm length. Of the four translocations with intercalary breakpoints, three were transfers of terminal barley segments to wheat chromosomes; one was a transfer of a terminal wheat segment to a barley chromosome. Because of the absence of diagnostic N-bands, the identity of three barley segments could not be determined; in one translocation the barley chromosome involved had a NOR so it must have been 5H or 6H, and the centric translocation was 4HS.2BL. Following selfing, homozygotes of four translocations were selected. The experiment suggests that in vitro culture conditions are conducive for major genome rearrangements in wheat-barley hybrids. Interspecific hybridization is an important approach to broaden the genetic base and create novel plant forms in breeding programs. However, interspecific hybridization in Ipomoea is very difficult due to the cross incompatibility. Here we report two novel interspecific F1 hybrids between I. batatas (L.) Lam. (2n = 6x = 90) and two wild species, I. grandifolia (2n = 2x = 30) and I. purpurea (2n = 2x = 30). Hybridization was stimulated by applying plant growth hormones. Morphological, molecular and cytological tests were conducted to confirm their hybridity. We found that the two hybrids were quite distinctive in leaf color and morphology, and yielded intermediate sizes of storage roots compared to their respective parents. Inter-simple sequence repeat analysis showed that the unique DNA bands from the wild parents could be detected in these two hybrids. The cluster analysis also showed that the two F1 hybrids were closer to I. batatas in phylogeny relationship. The number of chromosomes of the two hybrids was both 60, indicating that the hybrids were tetraploid. The meiotic configuration analysis of the H1 of I. batatas × I. grandifolia revealed the occurrence of 17.58I + 14.28II + 1.36III + 2.48IV at metaphase I in average chromosome association per pollen mother cells (PMCs), 4.26I + 18.32II + 2.56III + 3.12IV was average meiotic configuration in the H2 of I. batatas × I. purpurea. Both hybrids appeared to be polyads and multi-microcytes at tetrad phase and differed in their pollen fertility.  相似文献

The wild non-tuberous species Solanumetuberosum is resistant to biotic andabiotic stresses, but is very difficult tocross with cultivated potato. Therefore, interspecific somatic hybrids between adihaploid clone of potato S.tuberosum (2n=2x=24, AA genome) and thediploid species S. etuberosum(2n=2x=24, EE genome) were produced byprotoplast fusion. Among the 7 fertilefusion hybrids analysed by genomic insitu hybridisation (GISH), three groups ofplants were found with the genomicconstitution of AAEE, AAEEEE and AAAAEE.Four fusion hybrids had exactly theexpected chromosome composition, while eachof the three aneuploid hybrids had lost twochromosomes of S. etuberosum. Twobackcross progenies were developed, andGISH analysis was applied to analysetransmission of the parental chromosomesinto the sexual generations. BC1hybrids derived from the crosses of thehexaploid somatic hybrids with tetraploidpotato were pentaploid with thetheoretically expected genomic compositionor with slight deviation from thisexpectation. In the three BC2 hybridsanalysed by GISH seven to 12 chromosomes ofS. etuberosum were detected in thepredominant S. tuberosum background. No recombinant chromosomes in the hybridswere detected. Genome dosage affects tuberformation in hybrids and their progenies, but has less effect on resistance to potatovirus Y (PVY) in fusion hybrids. Severalgenotypes of the fusion hybrids andBC1 progeny did not show viralinfection even in the graftingexperiments.  相似文献

Flour color is an important trait in the assessment of flour quality for the production of many end products. In this study, quantitative trait loci (QTLs) with additive effects, epistatic effects, and QTL × environment (QE) interactions for flour color in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) were studied, using a set of 168 doubled haploid (DH) lines derived from a Huapei 3 × Yumai 57 cross. A genetic map was constructed using 283 simple sequence repeats (SSR) and 22 expressed sequence tags (EST)-SSR markers. The DH and parents were evaluated for flour color in three environments. QTL analyses were performed using QTLNetwork 2.0 software based on a mixed linear model approach. A total of 18 additive QTLs and 24 pairs of epistatic QTLs were detected for flour color, which were distributed on 19 of the 21 chromosomes. One major QTL, qa1B, closely linked to barc372 0.1 cM, could account for 25.64% of the phenotypic variation of a* without any influence from the environments. So qa1B could be used in the molecular marker-assisted selection (MAS) in wheat breeding programs. The results showed that both additive and epistatic effects were important genetic basis for flour color, and were also sometimes subject to environmental modifications. The information obtained in this study should be useful for manipulating the QTLs for flour color by MAS in wheat breeding programs. Kun-Pu Zhang and Guang-Feng Chen contributed equally to this study.  相似文献

A unique flower initiation of the wild Junebearing strawberry strain ‘CHI-24-1’ in Fragaria chiloensis occurs under 24 h DL and high temperature conditions. To introduce the floral initiation characteristics of ‘CHI-24-1’ into cultivated strawberries of F. × ananassa, a cross pollination was conducted between ‘CHI-24-1’ and the Japanese short-day type strawberry cultivar ‘Nyoho’. The floral initiation of ‘CHI-24-1’ was induced in both parent and daughter plants linked with runners under a 24 h DL and 23/20 C, but not 8 and 16 h DLs at the same temperatures. Of the 21 F1 hybrids grown under the 24 h DL, 12 showed flower truss production in the parent and/or daughter plants linked with runners. Among 64 F1 hybrids, 26 exposed to 8, 16 and 24 h DLs for 30 days produced no flower trusses. However, 32, one and five F1 hybrids produced flower trusses under the 24 h DL alone, 8 h DL alone and both the 8 and 24 h DLs, respectively. The results of the experiments indicated that none of the F1 hybrids were day-neutral plants, but approximately 60% had the characteristics of floral initiation under 24 h DL, which was inherited from the pollen parent of ‘CHI-24-1’. The importance of the unique floral initiation characteristics under 24 h DL with high temperature for strawberry breeding was discussed.  相似文献

Teasle gourd [Momordica subangulata Blume subsp. renigera (G. Don) de Wilde, 2n = 56] exhibits morphological characters found in both M. dioica (2n = 28) and M. cochinchinensis (2n = 28). Morphological analysis of M. subangulata subsp. renigera suggests an allopolyploid origin. We present evidence elucidating the genomic relationships between M. dioica, M. cochinchinensis and M. subangulata subsp. renigera. A triploid M. dioica × M. subangulata subsp. renigera hybrid had an average of 12.76 bivalents, 13.84 univalents and 0.88 trivalents at metaphase I, while the M. cochinchinensis × M. subangulata subsp. renigera hybrid had an average of 13.08 bivalents, 12.96 univalents and 0.96 trivalents. F1 hybrids of the two diploid species (M. dioica × M. cochinchinensis) showed an average of 9.12 bivalents and 9.76 univalents, suggesting that the genomes of these species are only partially homologous. A higher number of bivalents in the triploid hybrids suggests that M. subangulata subsp. renigera is a segmental allopolyploid of M. dioica and M. cochinchinensis and that its genomes have diverged from the parental genomes.  相似文献
