Glycoprotein showing inhibitory activity against mast cell degranulation and hyaluronidase activity was purified from the hot water extract of mint plant (Perilla frutescens Britton). The purified inhibitor gave a single band detected with Coomassie brilliant blue staining and periodic acid-Schiff staining on sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) analysis. The molecular mass was estimated to be 6.0 kDa on SDS-PAGE. The inhibitor did not become inactivated when boiled for 30 min or digested with trypsin, V8 protease, or proteinase K but was inactivated by NaIO(4) oxidation. The inhibitor prevented mast cell degranulation and hyaluronidase activity (IC(50) = 0.42 mg/mL) in a dose-dependent manner. The inhibitor also inhibited the protein kinase C activity. It is possible to purify and characterize a glycoprotein with putative pharmacological properties from mint plants.  相似文献

Antifungal activity of beta-asarone from rhizomes of Acorus gramineus   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
An antifungal substance was isolated from the extract of Acorus gramineus using various chromatographic procedures. The antibiotic was identified as beta-asarone, cis-2,4,5-trimethoxy-1-propenylbenzene, on the basis of the high-resolution EI-mass, NMR, and UV spectral data. Beta-asarone completely inhibited mycelial growth of some plant pathogenic fungi, Cladosporium cucumerinum,Colletotrichum orbiculare, Magnaporthe grisea, and Pythium ultimum, in a range of 0.5-30 microg/mL. The growth of Bacillus subtilis, Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora, Ralstonia solanacearum, and Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria was slightly suppressed by beta-asarone. As the concentration of beta-asarone increased, M. grisea infection was drastically inhibited on rice leaves. Treatment with 500 microg/mL of beta-asarone also greatly suppressed lesion formation of Co. orbiculare on cucumber leaves. This is the first study to demonstrate in vitro and in vivo antifungal activity of beta-asarone against plant fungal pathogens M. grisea and C. orbiculare.  相似文献

研究了砂姜黑土薄荷施肥技术,结果表明,在薄荷分枝期追施N138kg/hm^2时,基肥施N易使薄荷前期旺长,过早封行,通风透气差,会造成收获期薄荷大量落叶,进而影响薄荷油产量。K肥能显著提高薄荷产量,在低K用量时,氯化钾和硫酸钾增产效果相近,但在高钾用量时,则硫酸钾增产效果明显好于氯化钾,表明高用量的氯对薄荷油有不利的影响,从降低成本和提高产量两方面考虑,硫酸钾和氯化钾配合施用可获得较理想的效果。施用P肥对薄荷生长和产量提高效果不大,且P肥过高会影响薄荷的生长。  相似文献

The joint action of binary and ternary mixtures of benzoxazinone derivatives and phenolic acids was studied using the additive dose model (ADM) as reference model. The activity of fixed-ratio mixtures of phenolic acids [ferulic acid (FA), p-coumaric acid (CA), vanillic acid (VA), and p-hydroxybenzoic acid (HBA)] and benzoxazinone derivatives [2,4-dihydroxy-7-methoxy-1,4-benzoxazin-3-one (DIMBOA), 6-methoxybenzoxazolin-2-one (MBOA), benzoxazolin-2-one (BOA), 2-aminophenol (AP), and N-(2-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide (HPAA)] on Lolium perenne and Myosotis arvensis root growth was assessed in Petri dishes. Root length was recorded 6 days after seeding, and EC(50) and EC(90) values were estimated using nonlinear regression analyses. The benzoxazinone derivatives were found to be more phytotoxic than the phenolic acids, particularly on M. arvensis. Binary mixtures of phenolic acids responded predominantly additively on both plant species. Deviations from additivity were species-specific with antagonistic responses on L. perenne and synergistic responses on M. arvensis. Similarly, binary mixtures of benzoxazinone derivatives also followed the ADM, although synergistic responses were observed for BOA + AP and BOA + HPAA. Binary and ternary mixtures of benzoxazinone derivatives and phenolic acids responded primarily antagonistically; however, a significant synergistic performance was observed with DIMBOA + FA and DIMBOA + VA on L. perenne. These results do not support the assumption that allelopathic effects of wheat can be attributed to synergistic effects of otherwise weakly active allelopathic compounds, and it is suggested that future research be directed toward identifying and studying the effects of other potential allelochemicals including the degradation products of the most abundant wheat allelochemicals.  相似文献

Many naturally occurring plant volatiles are known to have antifungal properties. However, they have limited use because they diffuse rapidly in air. In this in vitro study, acetaldehyde was chosen as a prototype volatile in order to study the controlled release of antifungal volatiles from cyclodextrins (CD). The major postharvest pathogens Alternaria alternata, Botrytis cinerea, and Colletotrichum acutatum were exposed to the pure volatile for 7 days at 23 degrees C. Acetaldehyde was most effective against A. alternata, followed by C. acutatum, and B. cinerea, with 0.12, 0.56, and 1.72 microL/L in air being required to inhibit fungal growth, respectively, according to the bioassay developed. Second, the effectiveness of the new beta-CD-acetaldehyde release system was evaluated against A. alternata for 7 days at 23 degrees C. Sufficient volatile was released from 0.7 g of beta-CD-acetaldehyde to prevent fungal growth in vitro.  相似文献

Tyrosinase inhibitor from black rice bran   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
The inhibitor of tyrosinase activity in black rice bran was investigated. The methanol extract from black rice bran was re-extracted with hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, or water. The ethyl acetate extract had the most potent inhibition against tyrosinase activity by 80.5% at a concentration of 0.4 mg/mL. Inhibitory compound in the ethyl acetate fraction was isolated by silica gel column chromatography, and identified as protocatechuic acid methyl ester (compound 1) by GC, GC-MS, IR, and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Compound 1 inhibited 75.4% of tyrosinase activity at a concentration of 0.50 micromol/mL. ID(50) (50% inhibition dose) value of compound 1 was 0.28 micromol/mL. To study the structure-activity relationship, protocatechuic acid (2), vanillic acid (3), vanillic acid methyl ester (4), isovanillic acid (5), isovanillic acid methyl ester (6), veratric acid (7), and veratric acid methyl ester (8) were also assayed.  相似文献

Systematic bioassay-guided fractionation of the methylene chloride extract of the roots from Ligularia macrophylla was performed to identify both phytotoxic and antifungal compounds. Four phytotoxic eremophilanes (furanoeremophilan-14beta,6alpha-olide, 6beta-angeloyloxy-10beta-hydroxyfuranoeremophilane, eremophil-7(11)-ene-12,8alpha;14beta,6alpha-diolide, and 3alpha-angeloyloxybakkenolide A) and two antifungal fatty acids (linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid) were isolated. The X-ray crystal structure determination of 6beta-angeloyloxy-10beta-hydroxyfuranoeremophilane is reported here for the first time. All four eremophilanes substantially inhibited growth of the monocot Agrostis stolonifera (bentgrass) while demonstrating little activity against the dicot Lactuca sativa (lettuce) at 1000 microM. In a dose-response screening of all compounds for growth inhibitory activity against Lemna paucicostata, 6beta-angeloyloxy-10beta-hydroxyfuranoeremophilane was the most active with an IC50 of 2.94+/-0.16 microM. This compound also caused the greatest reduction of photosynthetic electron flow; however, its mode of action remains to be determined. Evaluation of isolated compounds for activity against the Formosan subterranean termite, Coptotermes formosanus, is also reported. At a concentration of 0.5% (wt/wt), 6beta-angeloyloxy-10beta-hydroxyfuranoeremophilane significantly reduced the consumption of filter paper by C. formosanus.  相似文献

Thirty-nine wheat accessions were used to evaluate their extract phytotoxicity against annual ryegrass (Lolium rigidum Gaud.). Aqueous extracts of wheat shoot residues significantly inhibited the germination and root growth of a biotype of annual ryegrass resistant to herbicides of acetyl CoA carboxylase inhibitors (group A), acetolactate synthase inhibitors (B), photosystem II inhibitors (C), and tubulin formation inhibitors (D). The germination of the herbicide resistant (HR) biotype was inhibited by 3-100%, depending upon the wheat accession. The phytotoxic effects on ryegrass root growth ranged from 12% stimulation to 100% inhibition, compared to a control. The germination and root growth of a herbicide-susceptible (HS) biotype of annual ryegrass were also inhibited by the wheat extracts, with germination inhibited by 4-100%, and root growth by 19-100%. Bioassays with two known wheat allelochemicals showed that p-coumaric acid and propionic acid significantly inhibited the growth of both HR and HS biotypes of annual ryegrass. The two compounds completely inhibited the root growth of HR ryegrass at concentrations greater than 5.0 mM. In comparison with p-coumaric acid, propionic acid was more inhibitory to seed germination, shoot, and root growth of both ryegrass biotypes. The root growth of the HR biotype was more sensitive when exposed to wheat extracts, to p-coumaric acid, and to propionic acid. The results suggest that residues of certain wheat cultivars with strong allelopathic potential could provide a nonherbicidal alternative for the management of herbicide-resistant weed species.  相似文献

Plants from Iryanthera genus have been traditionally used as food supplements by South American Indians. The MeOH extract of leaves of Iryanthera juruensis, one of the plants endemic to the Amazon region and consumed in Brazil, and the hexane extract from its seeds inhibited lipid peroxidation (LPO) and cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and -2)) enzymes in in vitro assays. Further analyses of these extracts yielded 5-deoxyflavones (1-5) from the leaf extract and sargachromenol (6), sargaquinoic acid (7), a novel juruenolic acid (8), omega-arylalkanoic acids (9a-c), and the lignan guaiacin (10) from the seed extract. Compounds 3-5 inhibited LPO by 86%, 77%, and 88% at 10 ppm, respectively, and compounds 6 and 9a-c showed inhibition at 76% and 78% at 100 ppm, respectively. However, compounds 7 and 8 were inactive and lignan 10 exhibited LPO inhibitory activity by 99% at 100 ppm compared to commercial antioxidants butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), and vitamin E. The flavones 1-5 also inhibited COX-1 and -2 enzymes by 50-65% at 100 ppm. Compound 6 showed high but nonselective inhibition of COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, when compared to aspirin and Celebrex, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Compounds 7 and 10 inhibited COX-1 by 60% and 65% and COX-2 by 37% and 18%, respectively, whereas compounds 8 and 9a-c showed little or no activity against these enzymes.  相似文献

Biotransformation of sinapic acid (1) with H2O2/Momordica charantia peroxidase, which exists in the widely used food M. charantia, at pH 5.0, 43 degrees C, in the presence of acetone resulted in six compounds, including four new compounds. Compound 2 was the first isolation of a new unique sinapic acid tetrameric derivate, which is formed by peroxidase catalysis in vitro. Besides 2, three other new sinapic acid dimers, 3-5 have also been isolated. Their structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic data. Compound 5 showed a stronger antioxidative activity than the parent sinapic acid (1). Compounds 4 and 5 significantly inhibited the growth of HL-60 cell at the concentration of 10-5 microl/L.  相似文献

The potential of the different Phoma exigua var. exigua strains for the biocontrol of the perennial weeds Sonchus arvensis and Cirsium arvense, occurring throughout temperate regions of the world, has been evaluated in previous studies. The majority of the above strains produced ascosonchine, a newly discovered enol tautomer of 4- pyridylpyruvic acid, whereas strains C-177 and S-9, though virulent to weeds, did not produce the above metabolite. In this study, it was demonstrated that the above two strains, grown in liquid and solid cultures, produced p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, cytochalasins B, F, Z2 and Z3, and deoxaphomin. When assayed on the leaves of both C. arvense and S. arvensis, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde was inactive, whereas deoxaphomin demonstrated the highest level of toxicity on leaves of S. arvensis. Cytochalasin Z2 appeared to be the less toxic cytochalasan on both plants according to the lack of the secondary hydroxyl group on C-7. Production of cytochalasins by P. exigua var. exigua strains isolated from C. arvense and S. arvensis is discussed in relation to chemotaxonomy and the biocontrol potential of the fungus.  相似文献

Bitter gourd ( Momordica charantia L.) pericarp, placenta, and seed extracts were previously shown to induce apoptosis in HL60 human leukemia cells. To determine the active component that induces apoptosis in cancer cells, bitter gourd ethanol extract was fractionated by liquid-liquid partition and silica gel column chromatography. Several fractions obtained by silica gel column chromatography inhibited growth and induced apoptosis in HL60 cells. Among them, fraction 7 had the strongest activity in inhibiting growth and inducing apoptosis in HL60 cells. A component that induced apoptosis in HL60 cells was then isolated from fraction 7 by another silica gel column chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) using a C18 column and was identified as (9Z,11E,13E)-15,16-dihydroxy-9,11,13-octadecatrienoic acid (15,16-dihydroxy alpha-eleostearic acid). 15,16-Dihydroxy alpha-eleostearic acid induced apoptosis in HL60 cells within 5 h at a concentration of 160 microM (50 microg/mL). (9Z,11E,13E)-9,11,13-Octadecatrienoic acid (alpha-eleostearic acid) is known to be the major conjugated linolenic acid in bitter gourd seeds. Therefore, the effect of alpha-eleostearic acid on the growth of some cancer and normal cell lines was examined. alpha-Eleostearic acid strongly inhibited the growth of some cancer and fibroblast cell lines, including those of HL60 leukemia and HT29 colon carcinoma. alpha-Eleostearic acid induced apoptosis in HL60 cells after a 24 h incubation at a concentration of 5 microM. Thus, alpha-eleostearic acid and the dihydroxy derivative from bitter gourd were suggested to be the major inducers of apoptosis in HL60 cells.  相似文献

为了延长鲜切木瓜的保鲜时间,利用尼辛、那他霉素、薄荷油、氯化钙、香兰素、壳聚糖制成复合保鲜涂膜液,考察涂膜及紫外线处理对木瓜鲜切块贮藏品质(包括色泽、可溶性固形物含量、失水率、维生素C含量、可滴定酸、霉菌酵母数、菌落总数)的影响。由均匀设计试验优化涂膜液配方以及紫外线处理参数。研究结果表明:涂膜及紫外线处理可较好地保持鲜切木瓜的色泽,抑制褐变,保持较高的可溶性固形物含量,减少贮藏过程中的水分损失,抑制霉菌、酵母菌和细菌的增长。采用SAS软件建立各参数与菌落总数关系的回归方程。利用非线性规划法得到较佳的复合涂膜配方与紫外线处理参数为:壳聚糖质量分数1.0%,氯化钙质量分数0.6%,Nisin0.10g/kg,那他霉素14.0mg/kg,香兰素质量分数0.3%,薄荷油1.5mL/L,紫外照射时间22min,紫外照射距离范围44~66cm。此复合涂膜配方与紫外线处理可使货架期至少达到6天,为鲜切木瓜保鲜提供技术参考。  相似文献

Polyphenol oxidase (PPO) was purified and characterized from Chinese cabbage by ammonium sulfate precipitation and DEAE-Toyopearl 650M column chromatography. Substrate staining of the crude protein extract showed the presence of three isozymic forms of this enzyme. The molecular weight of the purified enzyme was estimated to be approximately 65 kDa by gel filtration on Toyopearl HW-55F. On SDS-PAGE analysis, this enzyme was composed of a subunit molecular weight of 65 kDa. The optimum pH was 5.0, and this enzyme was stable at pH 6.0 but was unstable below pH 4.0 or above pH 7.0. The optimum temperature was 40 degrees C. Heat inactivation studies showed temperatures >40 degrees C resulted in loss of enzyme activity. PPO showed activity to catechol, pyrogallol, and dopamine (K(m) and V(max) values were 682.5 mM and 67.6 OD/min for catechol, 15.4 mM and 14.1 OD/min for pyrogallol, and 62.0 mM and 14.9 OD/min for dopamine, respectively). The most effective inhibitor was 2-mercaptoethanol, followed in decreasing order by ascorbic acid, glutathione, and L-cysteine. The enzyme activity of the preparation was maintained for 2 days at 4 degrees C but showed a sudden decreased after 3 days.  相似文献

基于自2006年在广西喀斯特峰丛洼地区开展的长期玉米/大豆套作定位施肥试验,选择2010—2014年监测数据,探讨等氮量投入条件下,不同比例有机肥替代无机氮肥对喀斯特峰丛洼地玉米/大豆套作系统作物产量及土壤养分的影响,为喀斯特峰丛洼地农田作物高效施肥及提高土壤肥力提供理论依据。试验选取4个处理:对照(不施肥,CK)、平衡施用化肥(NPK)、有机粪肥替代30%化肥氮(C7M3,按氮素计算,不足30%的PK用无机肥补充,肥料总量与NPK处理相同,有机粪肥为牛粪,下同)、有机粪肥替代60%化肥氮(C4M6,按氮素计算,不足60%的PK用无机肥补充),每个处理4次重复。于2010年、2012年、2014年大豆收获后采集土壤样品,测定土壤养分状况。结果表明:1)施肥处理土壤有机质、全氮、速效磷及速效钾含量均高于CK处理,其中C4M6处理有机质含量显著高于NPK处理(P0.05),全氮、速效磷和速效钾含量随着有机粪肥施用量的增加而增加。2)长期不同施肥处理玉米和大豆产量分别是不施肥处理的4.15~4.36倍、2.47~2.58倍。不同施肥处理的增产效果为C4M6NPKC7M3,但施肥处理间差异不显著(P0.05)。3)长期不施肥CK处理玉米产量随着试验年限推移呈下降趋势,降幅为5.45 g·m~(-2)·a~(-1),大豆产量却表现出增加趋势,增幅为1.50 g·m~(-2)·a~(-1)。长期施肥处理中,玉米和大豆产量总体呈增加趋势。4)施肥处理中,玉米季表现为钾素亏缺(NPK处理除外),大豆季表现为氮素亏缺。综合两季作物,只有C4M6钾素表现亏缺,亏缺量为7.9 kg·hm~(-2)。磷素在各施肥处理中盈余量较大,分别为81.2 kg·hm~(-2)(NPK)、83.4 kg·hm~(-2)(C7M3)和74.8 kg·hm~(-2)(C4M6)。综上,在喀斯特峰丛洼地玉米/大豆套作制度下,基于作物产量及土壤养分表观平衡特征提出有机粪肥可以代替部分化肥施用,在玉米季适当"减氮、稳磷和增钾",大豆季"稳氮、减磷和减钾"的施肥措施。  相似文献

A sulfoglycolipidic fraction (SF) isolated from the red microalga Porphyridium cruentum was analyzed for fatty acid composition and assayed for ability to inhibit, in vitro, the generation of superoxide anion in primed leucocytes and the proliferation of a panel of human cancer cell-lines. Results demonstrated that SF contained large amounts of palmitic acid (26.1%), arachidonic acid (C20: 4 omega-6, 36.8%), and eicopentaenoic (C20:5 omega-3, 16.6%) acids, and noticeable amounts of 16:1n-9 fatty acid (10.5%). It strongly inhibited both the production of superoxide anion generated by peritoneal leukocytes primed with phorbol myristate acetate (IC(50): 29.5 microg/mL), and the growth of human colon adenocarcinoma DLD-1 and to a lesser extent of human breast adenocarcinoma MCF-7, human prostate adenocarcinoma PC-3, and human malignant melanoma M4 Beu cell-lines, and therefore might have a chemopreventive or chemotherapeutic potential, or both. It was found markedly more cytotoxic than sulfoquinovosyldiacylglycerols from plant used as a standard (STD), due to a stronger ability to inhibit DNA alpha-polymerase (IC(50): 378 microg/mL, vs 1784 microg/mL for STD). After a 48-h continuous treatment, IC(50) values for growth inhibition were in the range of 20-46 microg/mL instead of 94 to >250 microg/mL for STD, and those for inhibition of metabolic activity were in the range of 34-87 microg/mL instead of >250 microg/mL for STD. The higher anti-proliferative effect was observed on colon adenocarcinoma DLD-1 cells, and the weaker effect was observed on breast adenocarcinoma MCF-7.  相似文献

Water-soluble extracts from the Mentha species M. aquatica L. and M. haplocalyx Briq., the hybrids M. x dalmatica L. and M. x verticillata L., the varieties M. arvensis var. japanensis [M. arvensis L. var. piperascens Holmes ex Christ] and M. spicata L. var. crispa Benth, and M. x piperita L. "Frantsila", M. "Morocco", and M. "Native Wilmet" cultivars were screened for potential antioxidative properties. These properties included iron(III) reduction, iron(II) chelation, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging, and the ability to inhibit iron(III)-ascorbate-catalyzed hydroxyl radical-mediated brain phospholipid peroxidation. Total phenol content and qualitative and quantitative compositional analyses of each extract were also made. The extracts demonstrated varying degrees of efficacy in each assay, with the M. x piperita "Frantsila" extract being better than the other extracts, except for ferrous iron chelation. With the exception of iron chelation, it appeared that the level of activity identified was strongly associated with the phenolic content.  相似文献

The negative effect of fatty acids on the foam stability of beer has been assessed. Long-chain fatty acids are far more damaging than short-chain fatty acids on the foam stability of beer at the concentrations employed. Polypeptides have been isolated from an all malt beer by hydrophobic interaction chromatography. Using this technique five groups of polypeptides were isolated, group 1 being the least hydrophobic and group 5 the most hydrophobic, all of which exhibited similar polypeptide compositions by SDS-PAGE. All five hydrophobic polypeptide groups bound [(14)C]linoleic acid; however, group 5, the most hydrophobic group, bound the most linoleic acid. Groups 1 and 5 were titrated with cis-parinaric acid (CPA) to produce binding curves, which were compared with a binding curve obtained for bovine serum albumin (BSA). Groups 1 and 5 both produced binding curves that saturated at approximately 5.5 microM and 4 microM CPA and had association constants (K(a)) of 6.27 x 10(7) and 1.62 x 10(7) M(-1), respectively. In comparison, BSA produced a binding curve that saturated at 6 microM CPA and had a K(a) of 3.95 x 10(7) M(-1). Further investigation has shown that group 1 is pH sensitive and group 5 pH insensitive with respect to lipid binding. The lipid-binding activity of group 5 was also shown to be unaffected by ethanol concentration. Linoleic acid (5 microM) when added to beer resulted in unstable foam. Group 5 was added to the lipid-damaged beer and was shown to restore the foam stability to values that were obtained for the control beer. It has therefore been demonstrated that proteins isolated from beer have a lipid-binding capacity and that they can convey a degree of protection against lipid-induced foam destabilization.  相似文献

为分析不同复合保鲜膜处理对金枪鱼的保鲜效果,以鱼鳞明胶为主料,添加桔子/柠檬精油和薄荷制备可食性保鲜膜,用于金枪鱼肉的冷藏保鲜,检测冷藏过程中金枪鱼肉的TVB-N值、pH值、菌落总数、肌红蛋白与高铁肌红蛋白含量、a*值、TBA值的变化,并对金枪鱼的品质进行感官评价分析。结果表明,鱼鳞明胶膜中添加薄荷、桔子精油和柠檬精油均能不同程度地抑制金枪鱼肉中的微生物繁殖,减缓TVB-N值、TBA值和高铁肌红蛋白含量的升高,抑制鱼肉色泽的衰变,且薄荷与桔子/柠檬精油的复合有协同增效保鲜金枪鱼肉的作用。明胶膜中复合2%浓度的桔子/柠檬精油对金枪鱼肉风味略有覆盖,低浓度桔子/柠檬精油(1%)有优化金枪鱼鱼肉气味的作用,且以柠檬精油的效果更优,1%薄荷-1%桔子精油-鱼鳞明胶复合膜和1%薄荷-1%柠檬精油-鱼鳞明胶复合膜保鲜处理的金枪鱼肉的货架期可分别延长至 7 d 和8 d。本研究结果为制备高品质水产品可食性保鲜膜材料提供了理论依据和技术支持。  相似文献

Essential oils extracted by hydrodistillation from local plants in Benin, western Africa, and oil from seeds of the neem tree (Azadirachta indica) were evaluated in vitro and in vivo for their efficacy against Fusarium verticillioides infection and fumonisin contamination. Fumonisin in corn was quantified using a fluorometer and the Vicam method. Oils from Cymbopogon citratus, Ocimum basilicum, and Ocimum gratissimum were the most effective in vitro, completely inhibiting the growth of F. verticillioides at lower concentrations over 21 days of incubation. These oils reduced the incidence of F. verticillioides in corn and totally inhibited fungal growth at concentrations of 8, 6.4, and 4.8 microL/g, respectively, over 21 days. At the concentration of 4.8 microL/g, these oils did not affect significantly fumonisin production. However, a marked reduction of fumonisin level was observed in corn stored in closed conditions. The oils adversely affected kernel germination at 4.8 microL/g and therefore cannot be recommended for controlling F. verticillioides on stored corn used as seeds, when used at this concentration. The oil of neem seeds showed no inhibitory effect but rather accelerated the growth of F. verticillioides.  相似文献
