本研究对11头蒙贝利亚母牛和9头蒙贝利亚公牛的生长发育进行了跟踪测定,并与同期荷斯坦母牛的生长发育、产奶性能进行了对比分析。结果表明,蒙贝利亚母牛与荷斯坦母牛初生重无显著差异;4~18月龄,蒙贝利亚母牛体重均明显高于荷斯坦母牛同期体重,差异极显著(P〈0.01)。蒙贝利亚母牛与荷斯坦母牛日增重变化规律相似,lOB龄平均日增重最大,17月龄平均日增重最小。蒙贝利亚母牛各阶段体高、体长与荷斯坦母牛无显著差异,14月龄体高可达127cm,达到配种体高。蒙贝利亚母牛头胎305d产奶量为7241kg,对照组荷斯坦母牛头胎305d产奶量为9589kg,二者差异极显著(P〈0.01)。蒙贝利亚公牛初生重较大,至24月龄体重接近荷斯坦公牛同期体重。12~24月龄,荷斯坦公牛体高、体斜长、胸围均明显高于蒙贝利亚公牛,差异板显著(P〈0.01);蒙贝利亚公牛初生重48kg,蒙贝利亚母牛初生重42kg,二者差异显著(P〈0.05)。蒙贝利亚公牛各阶段睾丸周径均显著高于荷斯坦公牛,差异极显著(P〈0.01)。  相似文献

本研究以1986年中国自主培育兼用牛新品种--三河牛,在内蒙古海拉尔谢尔塔拉种牛场核心群5 257头1998-2012年20 949条繁殖记录为研究材料,以青年牛首次妊娠日龄、青年牛首次产犊日龄、成母牛妊娠期、成母牛空怀期、产犊间隔为研究对象,用SAS 9.13、DMU软件对数据进行处理,采用AI-REML结合EM算法并配合多性状动物模型对各性状影响因素方差组分进行估计,估算出各性状遗传力,并利用各性状育种值分析其遗传趋势.结果显示,青年牛首次妊娠日龄、青年牛首次产犊日龄、成母牛妊娠期、成母牛空怀期、产犊间隔遗传力分别为0.0552、0.0638、0.0527、0.1096、0.0844,繁殖性状除成母牛空怀期遗传力为0.1096外,其余均小于0.1,属于低遗传力性状.青年牛首次妊娠日龄、青年牛首次产犊日龄、成母牛妊娠期、成母牛空怀期、产犊间隔育种值遗传趋势总体上无明显下降趋势,三河牛繁殖性能保持良好.该试验结果为三河牛优化育种方案、提高选种准确性提供重要理论依据.  相似文献

肉用西门塔尔牛与和牛杂交群体的肉品质分析   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
本研究旨在对肉用西门塔尔牛与杂交和牛两试验群体进行肉质性状比较,以期为肉品质性状遗传机制剖析及优质肉牛培育提供理论指导。收集肉用西门塔尔牛与杂交和牛两试验群体肉质性状表型数据,包括眼肌面积、剪切力、系水力、pH、肉色、脂肪颜色和大理石花纹等指标,进行相关性及差异性分析,从而综合评价两群体的肉品质。结果显示,两群体的脂肪颜色、系水力及剪切力呈现两两正相关;肉色与脂肪颜色、pH呈正相关,且肉色与pH呈显著相关(P < 0.05),而系水力与pH、肉色和大理石花纹呈负相关。在两试验群体间,和牛杂交群体的大理石花纹、眼肌面积、pH性状表现为极显著优于肉用西门塔尔牛(P < 0.01)。从性别比较来看,肉用西门塔尔牛母牛在大理石花纹、pH、剪切力等性状上极显著或显著优于公牛(P < 0.01;P < 0.05);而和牛杂交群体母牛的肉色和剪切力性状表现为显著或极显著高于公牛(P < 0.05;P < 0.01)。总体而言,和牛杂交群体的肉质性能优于肉用西门塔尔牛;群体内比较表明,肉用西门塔尔牛群体母牛肉质性能优于公牛,而和牛杂交群体母牛肉质性能低于公牛。  相似文献

旨在研究母牛初次配种妊娠月龄(age at first pregnancy,AFP)对其泌乳性能和主要繁殖性能的影响。本研究以我国北方地区2个规模化奶牛场13 927头荷斯坦母牛(A牧场8 091头,B牧场5 836头)的生产数据为基础,统计了母牛AFP、头胎和二胎的产奶量、产后首次发情时间、首次配种时间和首次受孕时间,然后将母牛根据AFP的早晚(12~19月龄)分为8组,对各试验组母牛的头胎和二胎产奶量和主要繁殖性能的数据进行比较分析。结果表明:1)2个规模化奶牛场荷斯坦青年牛AFP以13和14月龄为主(总占比70.1%);2)AFP可显著影响荷斯坦青年牛头胎和二胎的305 d产奶量(P<0.05),其中AFP为14月龄时A牧场头胎和二胎305 d产奶量均最高,分别为15 102和15 534 kg;3)AFP可显著影响荷斯坦青年牛头胎和二胎产后首次发情时间和受孕时间(P<0.05),AFP为14月龄时头胎产后首次发情和受孕情况最优;4)对于产后首配时间,除A牧场头胎AFP为16月龄时产后首次配种时间显著高于AFP为17月龄时(P<0.05)外,其余各组间均无显著性差异(P ≥ 0.05),并且各组间配种时间相差≤ 5 d;5)通过对A牧场在场牛(2 703头)与淘汰牛(660头)的AFP记录数据分析发现,在场牛的AFP为14.52月龄,显著高于淘汰牛的AFP(P<0.05)。因此,在北方地区现有的生产管理水平下,14月龄可能是荷斯坦青年牛最适宜的初次配种妊娠月龄,这对我国规模化奶牛场选择荷斯坦青年牛适宜的初次配种月龄具有一定参考价值。  相似文献

采用聚丙烯酰胺凝胶电泳技术测定了秦川牛(148头)血红蛋白(Hb)、运铁蛋白(Tf)、后运铁蛋白(PTf)、血清白蛋白(Alb)和后白蛋白(Pa)的遗传多样性。分析了各多态座位不同基因型与秦川牛若干繁殖性状的关系。结果表明:HbAA型母牛的初情期年龄(AFS),初产年龄(AFC)极显著早于HbAB型母牛(P〈0.01)。TfAA型母牛的初情期和初产年龄显著早于TfDD型母牛(P〈0.05)。PTf SS型母牛的初情期显著早于PTf FS型母牛和PTf FF型母牛(P〈0.05)。Alb AA型母牛的初情期显著早于Alb AC型母牛(P〈0.05)。Tf A基因对D基因的替代平均效应值初情期提前1.68d,初产年龄提前19.89d。AlbA基因对B基因的替代平均效应值初情期提前8.06d。  相似文献

为了提高奶牛产后发情检出率和繁殖效率,用散户自繁的8-12月龄小公牛作为试情小公牛与母牛同圈饲养,并于比邻的单产水平接近的人工观察发情的散户奶牛繁殖效率进行对比。结果表明:试情小公牛组和人工观察发情组奶牛85 d以内配妊率分别为81.13%(43/53)和70.27%(26/37),差异不显著(P〉0.05);120 d内配妊率分别为93.06%(67/72)和79.59(39/49),差异显著(P〈0.05);年度总受胎率分别为97.22%(70/72)和82.14%(46/56),差异显著(P〈0.05)。说明应用8-12月龄尚未达到性成熟的试情小公牛,通过爬跨等多种直接刺激可提高奶牛发情检测效率和繁殖效率,缩短产犊间隔,增加经济效益。  相似文献

将72头小母牛和72头小公牛分成4组,4个日粮组分别添加0、0.25%、0.50%和0.75%的MgO,试验时间是育成期的最后14d,即屠宰前2周。本试验旨在研究镁(Mg)和性别对牛的应激和牛背最长肌(LM)质量的影响。结果显示,公牛和母牛对应激的反应差异显著,母牛在屠宰前所表现的应激要远远高于公牛,主要表现在母牛的肾上腺皮质(HPA)轴和交感——肾上腺轴的激活更为明显。另外,公牛相对母牛在屠宰前的应激相对较低,屠宰后48h背最长肌pH值较高(LMpH,P=0.042),同时母牛的LM相对公牛的嫩度要好(P=0.008)。本试验中,母牛和公牛的第48h背最长肌pH值和背最长肌平均剪切力(LMWBSF)之间有一定的线性关系。在屠宰后第3d和第7d,pH值对LM剪切力的影响是非常大的(P〈0.05),但在牛屠宰后第21d,pH值对LM剪切力的影响已经不再明显(P〉0.05)。牛在屠宰后,牛肉的LM的最终pH值高于5.65时,LM牛肉的嫩度相对较差,但当LM切块放置至少18d或更长时间,肉质将会有所好转。牛日粮中添加Mg除了可增加牛血清中Mg的含量(P=0.011)外,对牛的生理应激和LM质量却没有任何影响(P〉0.05)。目前关于Mg的添加对减少屠宰前牛的应激和牛肉质量方面没有太多的报道。  相似文献

[目的]研究黑毛和牛改良皖南黄牛后代的生长性能及对皖南地区环境的适应能力。[方法]和杂F1代和和杂F2代为试验组,皖南牛为对照组。其中犊牛和杂牛F1代公牛17头、母牛21头,和杂F2代公牛9头、母牛11头,皖南牛公牛13头、母牛10头;6月龄及12月龄和杂牛F1代公牛15头、母牛18头,和杂F2代公牛8头,母牛9头,皖南牛公牛13头、母牛10头;18月龄和杂牛F1代公牛10头、母牛12头,和杂F2代公牛7头,母牛7头,皖南牛公牛11头、母牛8头。测定和杂牛F1代和F2代的体尺及体重等生长性能,并与皖南黄牛的生长性能进行比较。[结果]和杂牛生长发育较本地牛要快,但其增重相对其他外来肉牛品种来说仍然较慢。[结论]和牛可以作为皖南黄牛改良杂交的种质资源,提高皖南牛的生长速度,增加经济效益。  相似文献

本研究旨在分析近交及环境因素对中国荷斯坦奶牛初配日龄(产后首配天数)、初次配妊日龄(产后配妊天数)、配妊次数等繁殖性能的影响。选用山东省某牧场3 185头中国荷斯坦奶牛10 925条繁殖记录,通过SAS8.2软件中GLM过程,应用固定模型对青年牛及经产牛繁殖性能进行最小二乘分析及Duncan's多重比较。结果表明:近交对青年牛配妊次数有显著影响(P0.05),而对初配日龄、初次配妊日龄的影响不显著(P0.05);出生季节、配种年度、配种季节、与配公牛等环境因素对青年牛繁殖性能有显著(P0.05)或极显著(P0.01)影响;近交对经产牛产后配妊天数、配妊次数有显著影响(P0.05),而对产后首配天数的差异不显著(P0.05);胎次、产犊季节、配种年度、配种员、产奶水平、与配公牛等环境因素对经产牛繁殖性能均有显著(P0.05),极显著(P0.01)影响。通过制定合理的选配方案,避免近交,并结合牧场饲养管理,可有效提高奶牛繁殖性能。  相似文献

The objective of this project was to determine the genetic control of conception rate, or pregnancy percentage in Angus beef heifers. Producers from 6 herds in 5 states provided 3,144 heifer records that included breeding dates, breeding contemporary groups, service sires, and pregnancy check information. Two hundred fourteen sires of the heifers were represented; with 104 sires having less than 5 progeny, and 14 sires having greater than 50 progeny. These data were combined with performance and pedigree information, including actual and adjusted birth weights, weaning weights, and yearling weights, from the American Angus Association database. Heifer pregnancy rate varied from 75 to 95% between herds, and from 65 to 100% between sires, with an overall pregnancy rate of 93%, measured as the percentage of heifers pregnant at pregnancy check after the breeding season. Pregnancy was analyzed as a threshold trait with an underlying continuous distribution. A generalized linear animal model, using a relationship matrix, was fitted. This model included the fixed effects of contemporary group, age of dam, and first AI service sire, and the covariates of heifer age at the beginning of breeding, adjusted birth weight, adjusted weaning weight, and adjusted yearling weight. The relationship matrix included 4 generations of pedigree. The heritability of pregnancy and first-service conception rates on the underlying scale was 0.13 +/- 0.07 and 0.03 +/- 0.03, respectively. Estimated breeding values for pregnancy rate on the observed scale ranged from -0.02 to 0.05 for sires of heifers. Including growth traits with pregnancy rate as 2-trait analyses did not change the heritability of pregnancy rate. As expected for a reproductive trait, the heritability of pregnancy rate was low. Because of its low heritability, genetic improvement in fertility by selection on heifer pregnancy rate would be expected to be slow.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to quantify the relationships between traits observed before the first breeding season and fertility of 946 Angus and 351 Simmental heifers and to use those traits to develop prediction equations for heifer fertility. Logistic regression methodology was used. Traits investigated were Julian birth date, age of the heifer's dam, birth weight, actual weaning and yearling weights, weaning and yearling weight ratios, 205-d weight, 365-d weight, and birth-weaning, weaning-yearling, and birth-yearling ADG and relative growth rate (RGR). In both breeds heifers that were younger at the start of the breeding season were less likely to conceive, but this effect was more important for Angus (logistic regression coefficient, b = -.032; P less than .01) than for Simmentals (b = -.015; P = .06). Weaning weight ratio was positively associated with heifer fertility (b = .025; P = .01 and b = .028, P = .04, respectively, for Angus and Simmental), whereas actual weaning weight was related curvilinearly to fertility of Angus heifers. The likelihood of conception was highest for Angus heifers weighing greater than or equal to 240 kg at weaning. The only postweaning trait associated with heifer fertility was weaning-yearling RGR. The likelihood of conception was highest for Angus heifers growing between .15 and .30% per day (P = .01), whereas fertility increased continuously (P = .04) for Simmental heifers as weaning-yearling RGR decreased. The maximum variations in fertility explained by models including all possible explanatory variables were 11.5 and 9.2% for Angus and Simmental, respectively. Results suggested that growth-related traits were relatively more important as a predictor of fertility for Simmental heifers and that age at the start of the breeding season was more important for Angus heifers. The combination of Julian birth date and weaning-yearling RGR produced the best models to predict heifer fertility for both breeds.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To determine risk factors associated with identification of an umbilical hernia during the first 2 months after birth in Holstein heifers. DESIGN: Case-control study. ANIMALS: 322 Holstein heifers born in a single herd (45 with an umbilical hernia and 277 without). PROCEDURE: Risk factors that were examined included sire, whether the dam had a history of umbilical hernia, milk yield, duration of gestation, whether the dam had a history of dystocia, whether the heifer had a twin, birth weight, total serum protein concentration, and whether the heifer had an umbilical infection. Logistic regression was used to analyze risk factors. RESULTS: Heifers born to sires with > or = 3 progeny with an umbilical hernia were 2.31 times as likely to develop an umbilical hernia as were heifers born to sires with < or = 2 progeny with an umbilical hernia. Heifers with umbilical infection were 5.65 times as likely to develop an umbilical hernia as were heifers without umbilical infection. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Sire and umbilical infection were associated with risk of an umbilical hernia during the first 2 months of life in Holstein heifers. Attributable proportion analysis indicated that the frequency of umbilical hernias in Holstein heifers with umbilical infection would have been reduced by 82% if umbilical infection had been prevented.  相似文献

Calving records for daughters of 667 Record of Performance tested sires were examined to study factors related to age at first calving. For the 3025 heifers analyzed, mean age (± SD) at first calving was 791.5 ± 161.6 days (26.4 ± 5.4 months). There were significant effects of the breed of sire on age of heifer at first calving. Daughters of Angus sires calved earlier than daughters of Charolais, Hereford, Limousin, and Simmental sires. Mean ages at first calving for daughters of Hereford, Limousin, and Simmental bulls were significantly (p < 0.05) correlated with the sire's end-of-test age-adjusted scrotal circumference, but these correlations were not significant when farm effects were controlled. It appears that unknown herd level factors are more important in determining age at first calving in Ontario herds than using early maturing sires as determined by scrotal circumference measurements.  相似文献

Reproductive and growth data were obtained on 779 and 564 yearling beef heifers and bulls, respectively, that had sires with yearling scrotal circumference data at the San Juan Basin Research Center, Hesperus, CO. Partial regression coefficients of reproductive and growth traits on inbreeding (FXC) and age of the individual and adjusted scrotal circumference of sire (SCSI) were obtained. Growth and reproductive traits of heifers and growth and breeding soundness traits of bulls were analyzed. Separate analyses for each sex were performed, but least squares models were similar. Models included fixed effects of breed, birth year (BY), age of dam (AOD) and the covariates FXC, age (day of birth in heifer analyses) and SCSI. Scrotal circumference of sire was adjusted for age, FXC, AOD and BY using values obtained in a separate analysis. Seminal traits improved as age increased, and there was a seasonal effect present for age of puberty. Inbreeding had a detrimental effect on reproductive traits. Partial regression coefficients for the reproductive traits on SCSI were: age of puberty, -.796 d/cm; age of first calving, -.826 d/cm; julian day of first calving, -.667 d/cm; julian day of second calving, .597 d/cm; most probable producing ability, .132 %/cm; percent sperm motility, -.74 %/cm; percent primary sperm abnormalities, .08 %/cm; percent secondary sperm abnormalities, .92 %/cm; percent normal sperm, -1.28 %/cm; total breeding soundness examination score, .28 units/cm and scrotal circumference, .306 cm/cm. A heritability of .39 was obtained for scrotal circumference.  相似文献

A 3-yr study was conducted with heifers (n = 170) whose dams were used in a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement of treatments to determine the effects of late gestation (LG) or early lactation (EL) dam nutrition on subsequent heifer growth and reproduction. In LG, cows received 0.45 kg/d of a 42% CP supplement (PS) or no supplement (NS) while grazing dormant Sandhills range. During EL, cows from each late gestational treatment were fed cool-season grass hay or grazed sub-irrigated meadow. Cows were managed as a single herd for the remainder of the year. Birth date and birth weight of heifer calves were not affected (P > 0.10) by dam nutrition. Meadow grazing and PS increased (P = 0.02; P = 0.07) heifer 205-d BW vs. feeding hay and NS, respectively. Weight at prebreeding and pregnancy diagnosis were greater (P < 0.04) for heifers from PS dams but were unaffected by EL nutrition (P > 0.10). There was no effect (P > 0.10) of LG or EL dam nutrition on age at puberty or the percentage of heifers cycling before breeding. There was no difference (P > 0.10) in pregnancy rates due to EL treatment. Pregnancy rates were greater (P = 0.05) for heifers from PS dams, and a greater proportion (P = 0.005) of heifers from PS dams calved in the first 21 d of the heifers' first calving season. Nutrition of the dams did not influence (P < 0.10) heifers' average calving date, calving difficulty, and calf birth weight during the initial calving season. Weight at the beginning of the second breeding season was greater (P = 0.005) for heifers from PS dams but was not affected by maternal nutrition during EL (P > 0.10). Dam nutrition did not affect (P > 0.10) heifer ADG or G:F ratio. Heifers from PS dams had greater DMI (P = 0.09) and residual feed intake (P = 0.07) than heifers from NS cows if their dams were fed hay during EL but not if their dams grazed meadows. Heifers born to PS cows were heavier at weaning, prebreeding, first pregnancy diagnosis, and before their second breeding season. Heifers from cows that grazed meadows during EL were heavier at weaning but not postweaning. Despite similar ages at puberty and similar proportions of heifers cycling before the breeding season, a greater proportion of heifers from PS dams calved in the first 21 d of the heifers' first calving season, and pregnancy rates were greater compared with heifers from NS dams. Collectively, these results provide evidence of a fetal programming effect on heifer postweaning BW and fertility.  相似文献

A cross-sectional study was designed to: (1) determine the prevalences of enteric parasitic infections in dairy heifers and heifer calves (Bos taurus) in northern Thailand, and (2) determine the risk factors associated with the observed prevalences of infection. A stratified random sample of 87 farms was selected for study, and fecal and blood samples were collected from 439 out of 450 heifers and heifer calves from these farms. Fecal samples were processed by floatation and modified Benedek sedimentation methods, and then examined microscopically for the presence of enteric parasitic ova. Complete blood counts typically were within the reference range (done using standard methods). The overall prevalence for enteric parasites in heifers and heifer calves was 54%; most were of trematodes (41%) and nematodes (26%). Risk-factors analysis at the farm level yielded no significant results. Increased age significantly increased the odds of enteric parasite infection (OR=1.02, 95% CI 1.01-1.04).  相似文献

The development of replacement heifers is a major economic investment for all beef and dairy operations. The costs associated with heifer development cannot be recovered if heifers do not conceive and remain productive in the herd; therefore, heifers need to conceive early in the breeding season or risk being culled. Previous research has reported up to a 21% increase in fertility from pubertal estrus to the third estrus of a heifer. The use of reproductive tract scores to determine pubertal status has demonstrated that peripubertal and pubertal heifers have increased pregnancy success to estrous synchronization compared with heifers that were prepubertal. The development of RIA has allowed accurate measurement of peripheral blood hormone concentrations associated with the pubertal process and luteal formation. This basic knowledge has increased our understanding of the mechanisms that control puberty in heifers. In addition, understanding the hormonal changes that occur during the estrous cycle has allowed for the development of estrous synchronization protocols that result in increased control of follicular growth, regression of luteal tissue, and ovulation. Transrectal ultrasonography has increased our understanding of follicular waves; this understanding led to research investigating the endocrine regulation of follicular waves and development of methods to synchronize follicular waves for purposes of fixed-time AI. Current topics of research include the effect of antral follicle count on fertility and the effect of maternal nutrition (on the fetus in utero) on subsequent reproductive potential of a heifer (i.e., fetal programming). Advancements in genomic technologies will likely provide a powerful tool for selecting heifers at birth that will have a greater probability of being reproductively successful if managed correctly. Therefore, knowledge gained through basic research on factors that control puberty has improved and will continue to improve heifer development and fertility.  相似文献
