1. A 3 × 2 factorial experimental design was used to investigate the interaction between threonine concentration (0.7, 1.0 and 1.3 of National Research Council (NRC), 1994, recommendations) and manno-oligosaccharides (MOS) supplemented at 0 and 2 g/kg on growth performance in relation to intestinal flow of crude mucins, mucosal development and nutrient utilisation. 2. There was no interaction between MOS and dietary threonine in any performance variable analysed, except for body weight gain during the period to 14 d of age, where body weight gain was significantly lower in birds fed excess threonine in the absence of MOS. Dietary MOS was also observed to significantly increase the body weight gain at deficient and adequate concentrations of threonine. 3. Dietary treatments had no significant effect on either the ileal external muscularis thickness or crypt depth. However, there was a MOS and threonine interaction in the ileal villus to crypt ratio and ileal crude mucin output with both being increased only at the adequate threonine concentration. 4. Dietary MOS tended to interact with threonine to increase the ileal uptake of D-glucose and L-threonine, but the effect was only apparent in birds fed on the deficient or excess threonine diet. There was no significant interaction between MOS and threonine on ileal digestibility of amino acids. Supplementation of MOS or increased dietary threonine significantly increased the apparent and standardised ileal digestibility of threonine. 5. Results from the current study indicate the possible link between the modulating effects of these supplements on intestinal mucosal development and mucin dynamics. This, in turn, may suggest a relatively higher proportion of mature enterocytes and absorptive area, which would be expected to improve the capacity for digestion and mucosal nutrient absorption.  相似文献

Several studies report that dietary mannan‐oligosaccharides (MOSs) improve the growth performance of piglets, however, only a few studies focus on nutrient digestibility. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of dietary MOS on ileal digestibility of nutrients and on N‐balance and growth performance of piglets weaned at 28 days of age. Three experiments were conducted: a digestibility trial with a total of 30, simple T‐cannulated piglets (Exp. 1), a N‐balance trial with a total of 48 intact piglets (Exp. 2) and a performance trial with a total of 324 piglets (Exp. 3). In Exp. 1 and 2, the same five dietary treatments were carried out by supplementing the basal diet with 0, 1, 2, 4 g MOS or with 0.2 g antibiotic growth promoter (AGP, Avilamycin) per kg of diet. In Exp. 3, three dietary treatments were used as follows: the basal diet was supplemented no additive, 2 g MOS or 0.2 g AGP (Avilamycin) per kg of diet. Dietary MOS (2 or 4 g/kg) enhanced the ileal digestibility of crude protein similar to antibiotics. Addition of 1 g/kg MOS significantly increased the digestibility of Ca and P by 8.4% and 7.7% units, respectively; however, further increment did not enhance the absorption. Addition of 1 or 2 g/kg MOS significantly increased the ileal digestibility of lysine, methionine, cystine and threonine with the same magnitude or even more than the AGP. In our study, MOS supplementation had no influence on N‐balance and growth parameters. Because of the better apparent ileal digestibility of certain nutrients, however, the protein, lysine, methionine, cystine, threonine, Ca and P contents of the diet can probably be reduced without weakening the rearing performance of piglets, when the diet is supplemented with 2 g/kg MOS.  相似文献

Ninety-six crossbred barrows and gilts were used to investigate the optimum supply of true ileal digestible threonine for growing (approximately 35-65 kg body weight) and finishing (approximately 65-110 kg body weight) pigs. For this purpose, according to a bifactorial arrangement in the grower as well as in the finisher phase four dietary threonine levels were combined with two dietary levels of lysine. Measurement criteria were body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion rate and carcass characteristics. In the grower stage at the lower lysine level daily gain increased numerically (p < 0.1) and the feed to gain ratio decreased significantly with an increasing dietary true ileal digestible threonine concentration. Increasing the true ileal digestible lysine concentration of the diet from 7.8 to 9.2 g/kg increased average daily gain in the grower stage significantly from 815 to 855 g and decreased the feed to gain ratio significantly. In finishing pigs, daily gain and feed to gain ratio were significantly improved by an increasing dietary true ileal digestible threonine concentration from 821 to 902 g and from 3.14 to 2.94 kg/kg, respectively, but not by the differing lysine supply. As in the grower stage, barrows consumed more feed than gilts at similar growth rates and this resulted in a significantly reduced feed to gain ratio in gilts compared with barrows. The requirements of true ileal digestible threonine for optimize both, daily gain and feed to gain ratio, as derived by the broken-line model were 10.3 g/animal and day for growing and 10.7 g/animal and day for finishing pigs respectively.  相似文献

选择120只1日龄肉鸡随机分为2组,试验组添加0.3%的甘露寡糖。每组6个重复,每个重复10只。每组基础日粮相同。试验结果表明:试验后期(4~5周龄)和整个试验期(0~5周龄)的增重,添加0.3%甘露寡糖组显著高于对照组(P<0.05),试验前期(0~3周龄)未见明显效果。试验前期的料肉比,添加0.3%甘露寡糖组显著低于对照组(P<0.05),试验后期和整个试验期处理组虽然均低于对照组,但无显著差异。添加0.3%甘露寡糖组回肠绒毛长度以及绒毛长度与隐窝深度之间的比值均显著高于对照组(P<0.05)。添加0.3%甘露寡糖可显著提高肉鸡的生长性能,并可以改善肠黏膜的形态,增大小肠吸收面积。  相似文献

1. This paper describes the experimental testing of a model derived from an analysis of published data on the threonine requirements of broiler chickens. The model, published in a separate paper, showed that the age of the bird and dietary crude protein were highly significant determinants of threonine requirements. 2. We tested this model by measuring the threonine requirements of male broilers aged 7 to 21 d and 21 to 42 d fed on wheat-peanut meal diets containing graded concentrations of threonine. The growth of those birds given adequate threonine was compared with that of others fed a typical wheat-soyabean diet to measure the relative value of peanut meal as a protein concentrate. Finally, we measured the dry matter, nitrogen and fat concentrations in the carcase using near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) to test the hypothesis that birds given diets deficient in an amino acid produce carcases with more fat. 3. Increasing the threonine concentration of the diet from 5.7 to 7.2 g/kg improved the growth and feed conversion ratio (FCR) of broilers. However, a further increase in dietary threonine to 7.7 g/kg had an adverse effect. The determined threonine requirement agreed with our prediction model. 4. From 7 to 21 d birds given the diet containing 7.2 g/kg threonine ate more, weighed more, had an improved FCR and, in absolute terms, had carcases with more dry matter, fat and protein than did birds given the wheat-soyabean diet. However, after correction for treatment differences in body mass there were no differences in the carcase parameters. Likewise, there were no differences in any measurements between birds given these two diets between 21 and 42 d.  相似文献

本研究旨在观察饲粮中添加苏氨酸对伪狂犬病毒(Pseudorabies virus,PRV)诱导的免疫应激仔猪生长性能和肠道健康的影响。试验选用30头平均体重为(6.94±1.26)kg健康的"杜×长×大"断奶仔猪,采用3×2因子试验设计,饲粮中真可消化苏氨酸水平为0.74%、0.89%和1.11%;仔猪接受免疫应激(注射PRV弱毒苗)或不应激(注射灭菌生理盐水)处理。免疫应激仔猪于试验第8天早上注射PRV弱毒疫苗。试验期为21 d。结果表明:PRV的注射极显著提高了试验第21天血清PRV特异性抗体水平(P<0.01),表明PRV疫苗攻毒诱导免疫应激模型构建成功。PRV诱导的免疫应激有提高仔猪7~21 d的料重比的趋势(P<0.10),且显著提高了1~21 d的料重比(P<0.05),极显著提高了空肠隐窝深度(P<0.01),极显著降低了空肠绒毛高度/隐窝深度(P<0.01),并引起十二指肠黏膜变性坏死脱落等形态学病变。饲粮添加苏氨酸能在一定程度上影响仔猪7~21 d和1~21 d的料重比(P<0.10),并有提高仔猪十二指肠绒毛高度的趋势(P<0.10),对十二指肠绒毛高度/隐窝深度的影响与PRV诱导的免疫应激存在显著的互作效应(P<0.05),且能够缓解PRV诱导的免疫应激产生的肠道形态学病变。由以上的试验结果可知,饲粮添加苏氨酸能在一定程度上减缓PRV诱导的免疫应激带来的断奶仔猪生长性能下降和肠道损伤。  相似文献

试验采用2×5双因子完全随机试验设计,研究苏氨酸水平对1~14日龄北京鸭生产性能的影响,进而探讨1~14日龄北京鸭苏氨酸需要量。选取480只体重相近的1日龄健康的W系雄性北京鸭,随机分为10个处理,每个处理6个重复,每个重复8只北京鸭。试验日粮共设2个蛋白水平,分别为14%和20%;5个苏氨酸水平,分别为0.50%、0.58%、0.66%、0.74%、0.82%,各试验日粮的代谢能和其它必需氨基酸添加量一致。试验期为14d。研究结果表明:日粮蛋白质水平与苏氨酸水平产生明显的互作效应,且蛋白质水平与苏氨酸水平对1~14日龄北京鸭采食量、日增重、料重比影响均显著(P0.01)。在高蛋白质水平下,以采食量和日增重为评价指标,分别建立其与苏氨酸需要量的回归方程,得出均呈二次曲线变化,且1~14日龄北京鸭最佳苏氨酸需要量分别为0.688%、0.737%。在低蛋白质水平下,日增重和日采食量均随着苏氨酸水平的升高而升高,未出现下降或平台期,因此,低蛋白质水平下的苏氨酸需要量高于高蛋白质水平下的苏氨酸需要量,苏氨酸需要量与蛋白质有关。  相似文献

In previous studies, dietary nucleotides have been shown to improve performance in single-stomached animals by promoting the renewal of small intestine epithelial cells and by influencing the activity and composition of the microbial community in the digestive tract. The present experiment was carried out with 12 barrows weaned at the age of 18 days and fitted with a simple T-cannula at the distal ileum. To determine short-term effects of dietary yeast nucleotides, the piglets received a grain-soybean meal-based basal diet with or without supplementation of 1 g/kg of a dried yeast product containing free nucleotides. Dietary supplementation with yeast did not affect bacterial numbers in the ileum as well as ileal concentrations of individual short-chain fatty acids (SCFA), total SCFA and total lactic acid (p > 0.05). Moreover, there was no effect of supplemental yeast nucleotides on ileal α-amylase, leucine amino peptidase, maltase and lactase activities (p > 0.05), as well as on ileal dry matter, crude protein and crude fibre digestibilities (p > 0.05). In conclusion, short-term supplementation with dietary yeast nucleotides did not affect microbial metabolite concentrations, bacterial numbers and enzyme activities in the ileal digesta as well as ileal nutrient digestibilities of newly weaned pigs.  相似文献

Weanling crossbred pigs (avg initial wt 6.4 kg) were fed diets containing six levels of threonine to determine the threonine requirement of young pigs fed diets somewhat similar to those used in commercial swine production. The diets (16% crude protein) were composed primarily of grain sorghum, oat groats and soybean meal supplemented with minerals, vitamins, lysine, tryptophan, methionine and isoleucine, and were calculated to be adequate in all nutrients except threonine and crude protein. Threonine levels were .53, .57, .62, .68, .75 and .83% of the diet. There were two trials, each with 96 pigs. The pigs were fed the experimental diets for 28 d. The addition of threonine increased weight gain (P less than .02) and feed efficiency (P less than .001), with most of the response occurring between .53 and .68% threonine. There was little further response when threonine was increased above .68%. Plasma threonine concentrations increased as dietary threonine increased, with a sharp rise when dietary threonine exceeded .68%. Concentrations of most other essential amino acids in the plasma declined in response to increasing dietary threonine, and reached minimum values at either .68 or .75% threonine. Plasma urea concentrations decreased as threonine was increased in the diet, reaching a plateau at .68% dietary threonine. The data indicate the young pigs weaned at 3 to 4 wk of age require approximately .70% threonine.  相似文献

Two experiments were conducted to determine the effect of supplementation of xylanase to a wheat-based diet on the apparent ileal digestibility (AID) of AA and the performance of growing pigs fed diets limiting in AA. In Exp. 1, eight pigs (average initial BW = 20.5+/-1.2 kg) fitted with a simple T-cannula at the distal ileum, were fed four diets according to a repeated 4 x 4 Latin square design. Diet 1 was a basal diet that contained 97.6% wheat. Diets 2, 3, and 4 were the basal diet supplemented with xylanase at rates of 5,500, 11,000, and 16,500 units of xylanase activity (XU), respectively (as-fed basis). There were linear and quadratic effects (0.062 < P < 0.001) of xylanase supplementation on the AID of CP and most of the AA. The largest increases in AID of CP and AA were obtained when xylanase was supplemented at a rate of 11,000 XU; no further increases were observed with xylanase supplementation at a rate of 16,500 XU. In Exp. 2, 30 pigs (average initial BW 21.4+/-1.8 kg) were randomly allotted to six dietary treatments. Diets 1 to 4 were similar to those used in Exp. 1. Diet 5 was the same as Diet 1, but supplemented with 0.53% lysine, 0.12% threonine, and 0.05% methionine. Diet 6 (positive control diet) was a wheat-soybean meal diet that contained 18.2% CP (as-fed basis). The total contents of lysine, threonine, and methionine were similar for Diets 5 and 6. There was a linear effect of xylanase supplementation on ADG (P = 0.093) and feed:gain ratio (P = 0.089), and a quadratic effect on ADG (P = 0.067) and feed:gain ratio (P = 0.074). But, the greatest response was obtained with the supplementation of 11,000 XU. The supplementation of lysine, threonine, and methionine to Diet 1 increased (P = 0.001) ADG and ADFI and improved (P = 0.01) feed:gain ratio. There was no difference (P = 0.508) in the performance of pigs fed the AA-supplemented or control diet. In conclusion, the supplementation of xylanase to a diet in which wheat provided the sole source of protein and energy improved the AID of AA, ADG, and feed:gain ratio; however, this improvement was very small compared with that obtained with the supplementation of synthetic amino acids.  相似文献

1. A total of 40 female BUT9 turkeys were used in a precision-feeding assay to investigate the effect of dietary phytase on true metabolisable energy corrected for N retention (TME(N)), coefficients of true dry matter (TDMD), mineral, amino acid and nitrogen (TND) digestibilities and the excretion of endogenous mucin, measured as sialic acid (SA). 2. Five treatments were used in this study: control (C), C + 250 phytase units (FTU) per kg feed, C + 500 FTU, C + 2500 FTU, and glucose only for endogenous losses estimation. Diets were formulated to be nutritionally adequate with the exception that the P content was relatively low (3·6 g/kg non-phytate P). 3. Inclusion of phytase increased TND in a quadratic manner with the optimum being achieved at approximately 500 FTU, at which TND was 37 % greater than in the control. The concentration of SA in the excreta decreased linearly with increased phytase supplementation. Dietary TME(N), TDMD and true mineral digestibility coefficients were not significantly affected by phytase supplementation. 4. Phytase inclusion increased digestibility coefficients for indispensable, dispensable and total amino acids in a linear manner. The scale of the response to phytase was greatest with threonine and least with lysine digestibility, suggesting a specific mechanism of action that benefits gut health. 5. The strong negative relationship between secretion of SA and threonine digestibility suggests that a large part of the threonine benefit may be from reduced mucin synthesis. This supports the hypothesis that dietary phytase may play a role in improving the health status of the intestine and, as a result, reduces the maintenance energy requirements of turkeys.  相似文献

Glycine has been reported to be conditionally essential for broilers fed reduced crude protein diets during the starter period. Research evaluating dietary Gly responses subsequent to the starter period is sparse. This experiment was conducted to ascertain the effects of feeding reduced crude protein diets supplemented with Gly and/or L-Gln (nitrogen source) on growth performance and carcass characteristics of broilers during a 41-day production period. Eight dietary treatments were utilized with the negative control diets formulated to contain approximately 2.4 and 0.29% points lower crude protein and total Gly + Ser concentrations, respectively, than the positive control diets. The 6 other diets were formulated to contain intermediate concentrations of total Gly + Ser and/or crude protein (nitrogen) by adding Gly and/or L-Gln, respectively, to the negative control diets. Glycine appeared to have more pronounced effects than nitrogen contribution on feed conversion ratio and body weight gain of broilers during starter and grower periods, whereas Gln improved feed conversion of broilers in the finisher period. Total breast meat weight and yield of broilers provided diets with the additions of Gly and L-Gln were higher than those receiving diets with only Gly or L-Gln supplementation. The positive outcomes on growth performance and carcass characteristics suggested that providing adequate total Gly + Ser and nitrogen concentrations in diet formulation may be necessary for broilers when dietary CP content was reduced approximately by 2.4% points during a 6-week production period.  相似文献

本试验研究饲料不同水平吡啶甲酸铬对其生长、饲料利用,体成分、血液生化指标和非特异性免疫功能的影响。600尾吉富罗非鱼分为5个处理组,每个处理各设4个重复,每重复30尾鱼。每个处理铬添加量分别为0、0.4、0.8、1.2 mg/kg和10.0 mg/kg,在0.38 m3玻璃纤维钢桶中用开放式流水养殖,饲养8周。结果表明,饲料中添加吡啶甲酸铬对吉富罗非鱼的增重率、特异生长率、饲料系数、蛋白效率及蛋白质沉积率均有显著影响(P<0.05)。当铬添加量为0~0.8 mg/kg时,随着添加量增加,可显著提高吉富罗非鱼增重率、特定生长率、蛋白质效率和蛋白质沉积率(P<0.05),显著降低饲料系数(P<0.05),但对成活率和肝体比无显著影响(P>0.05);当饲料中添加为1.2 mg/kg~10.0 mg/kg时并未能进一步提高罗非鱼的生长和饲料利用。同时,铬添加水平为0~0.8 mg/kg,随着添加水平增加,显著提高吉富罗非鱼全鱼的蛋白质和磷含量(P<0.05),显著降低全鱼水分、脂肪和灰分含量(P<0.05),并显著提高吉富罗非鱼血清总蛋白含量以及肝胰脏AKP、ACP和LZM的活性(P<0.05),显著降低血清葡萄糖含量(P<0.05),但对血清胆固醇和甘油三酯含量及肝胰脏T-SOD活性无显著影响(P>0.05)。当饲料中添加铬1.2 mg/kg和10.0 mg/kg,除了显著降低肝胰脏AKP活性外(P<0.05),对血清生化指标和肝胰脏非特异性免疫酶活性无显著影响(P>0.05)。综合生长、饲料利用、体组成成分、血液生化指标和肝胰脏非特异性免疫酶活性的影响结果表明,对于0.91~4.93 g吉富罗非鱼,饲料中以吡啶甲酸铬的形式添加0.8~1.2 mg/kg铬为宜。  相似文献

The interaction effect of whole wheat feeding and mannanoligosaccharides supplementation on growth performance, haematological indices and caecal microbiota of cockerel chicks were investigated using 250‐day‐old cockerel chicks previously reared for 7 days pre‐experimental period. Birds were fed with commercial chick mash during the pre‐experimental period. At the expiration of this period, 192 chicks were selected on weight equalization basis and assigned into 24 pens. Each treatment consisted of six pens, while each pen housed eight birds. Four wheat–soya bean‐based experimental diets were formulated in a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of diets having two wheat forms (ground and whole wheat grain) each supplemented or not with 1 g/kg MOS/kg feed. Whole wheat feeding (irrespective of MOS supplementation) showed reduced (p < 0.05) feed intake. Birds fed whole wheat diet supplemented with MOS recorded the highest (p < 0.01) final live weight, weight gain and the best (p < 0.05) feed conversion ratio. Haemoglobin concentration, packed cell volume and red blood cell count of the chicks were not affected (p > 0.05) by dietary treatment. However, dietary supplementation with MOS resulted in increased (p < 0.05) WBC counts. The caecum content of chicks fed with MOS‐supplemented whole wheat diets recorded the least (p < 0.01) salmonella counts. In conclusion, combination of whole wheat feeding and MOS supplementation showed improved growth performance, gut microbiota and indications of improved health status of cockerel chicks.  相似文献

The present study was conducted to evaluate the threonine requirement for Pekin ducks in low protein diets by determining the effects of threonine on growth performance,carcass traits,and serum parameters.In total,240 1-day-old were randomly allocated to one of five dietary treatments with six replicate cages with eight duck for each treatment according to average body weight.They were fed low protein diets (17.65%) with 0.41%,0.48%,0.55%,0.62% or 0.69% threonine from 1 to 21 days of age,respectively.The results showed that threonine supplementation in low protein diets improved body weight,weight gain,feed intake,and breast muscle percentage,and reduced the ratio of feed to gain (P<0.01).Threonine supplementation in low protein diets had no influence on thigh muscle percentage,and the activity of ALT and AST,and the contents of TP,ALB,GLB and GLU in serum (P>0.05),but reduced the contents of CHO,TG,HDLC and LDLC in serum (P<0.05).The evaluated threonine requirement in low protein diets based on linear broken-line regression with weight,weight gain,feed intake,ratio of feed to gain,and breast muscle percentage were 0.594%,0.594%,0.595%,0.513% and 0.607%,respectively.In summary,the optimal dietary threonine levels would be 0.607% for Pekin ducks fed low protein diets from 1 to 21 days of age.Although which failed to support equal growth performance to that of high protein diets,it was possible to reduce nitrogen emissions.  相似文献

本试验采用单因素完全随机试验设计,通过测定不同日粮苏氨酸水平对1~21日龄北京鸭生长性能、屠宰性能和血浆生化指标的影响,研究低蛋白质日粮北京鸭苏氨酸需要量。240只1日龄雄性北京鸭按体重随机分为5个处理,每个处理6个重复,每个重复8只北京鸭,分别饲喂苏氨酸水平为0.41%、0.48%、0.55%、0.62%和0.69%的低蛋白质(17.65%)日粮,试验期为1~21日龄。结果表明,低蛋白质日粮中添加苏氨酸可以提高北京鸭体重、日增重、采食量和胸肌率(P<0.01),降低料重比(P<0.01)。低蛋白质日粮中添加苏氨酸对北京鸭腿肌率,血浆ALT和AST活性,以及TP、ALB、GLB和GLU含量均无显著影响(P>0.05),但是降低了血浆CHO、TG、HDLC和LDLC含量(P<0.05)。用直线-断线回归模型以体重、日增重、采食量、料重比和胸肌率为指标,拟合1~21日龄北京鸭苏氨酸需要量分别为0.594%、0.594%、0.595%、0.513%和0.607%。综合试验结果,当日粮蛋白质水平为17.65%时,1~21日龄北京鸭苏氨酸需要量为0.607%,此时,虽不能满足北京鸭的最大生长性能,但可以降低氮排放。  相似文献

试验旨在通过采用T型瘘管法,研究精油对生长猪蛋白质和氨基酸等回肠末端表观消化率的影响。试验选用6头(杜×长×大)去势公猪([28.6±1.3)kg],采用3×3双拉丁方试验设计,分别饲喂正对照日粮:玉米-豆粕型基础日粮+抗生素;负对照日粮:无抗基础日粮;精油组日粮:负对照+0.01%精油。每个试验期为7 d,前5 d为适应期,后2 d为食糜收集期。结果表明,在日粮中添加精油可提高(P<0.05)蛋白质、能量、精氨酸、赖氨酸、亮氨酸、色氨酸、蛋氨酸、丙氨酸、总必需氨基酸、总氨基酸的回肠末端表观消化率,并有提高干物质、苏氨酸、天冬氨酸、丝氨酸和酪氨酸表观消化率的趋势(P<0.10)。在日粮中添加0.01%的精油可提高生长猪蛋白质、能量、总必需氨基酸和总氨基酸的回肠末端表观消化率,并有提高干物质表观消化率的趋势。  相似文献

The aim of the present experiment was to examine the influence of whole wheat inclusion and a blend of essential oils (EO; cinnamaldehyde and thymol) supplementation on the performance, nutrient utilisation, digestive tract development and ileal microbiota profile of broiler chickens. 2. The experimental design was a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments evaluating two wheat forms (ground wheat [GW] and whole wheat [WW]; 100 and 200 g/kg WW replacing GW during starter [1 to 21 d] and finisher [22 to 35 d] diets respectively) and two levels of EO inclusion (0 or 100 g/tonne diet). All dietary treatments were supplemented with 2000 xylanase units/kg feed. Broiler starter and finisher diets based on wheat and soybean meal were formulated and each diet fed ad libitum to 6 pens of 8 male broilers. 3. During the trial period (1-35 d), wheat form had no significant effect on weight gain or feed intake. However, WW inclusion tended (P = 0.06) to improve feed per gain. Essential oil supplementation significantly improved weight gain in both diets, but the improvements were greater in the GW diet as indicated by a significant wheat form × EO interaction. 4. Main effects of wheat form and EO on the relative weight, length and digesta content of various segments of the digestive tract were not significant. Significant interactions, however, were found for relative gizzard and caecal weights. Essential oil supplementation significantly increased the relative gizzard weight and lowered relative caecal weight in birds fed on the GW based diet, but had no effect in those fed on the WW based diet. 5. Whole wheat inclusion and EO supplementation significantly improved apparent ileal nitrogen digestibility. Apparent ileal digestible energy was not significantly influenced by the dietary treatments. 6. Ileal microbiota profiling, using denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis, showed that the ileal microbiota composition was influenced by feed form. The mean numbers of bacterial species in the ileal contents of birds fed on the GW diet supplemented with EO tended (P = 0.07) to be higher than those of the ileal contents of birds fed on unsupplemented GW based diet. 7. The present data suggested that dietary addition of EO improves broiler weight gain and ileal nitrogen digestibility both in GW and WW based diets, but that the magnitude of the response to EO for weight gain was greater in GW based diet. Whole wheat feeding was found to be beneficial in terms of feed efficiency.  相似文献

The aim of the study was to test the interaction between Thr and Gly in low crude protein (CP) diets in 7 to 28 d broilers on production performance and plasma metabolites. A total of 2,040 broilers were allocated to 17 treatments. A positive control (PC) diet (20.5% CP) was formulated to be adequate in dietary Thr and Gly. A negative control (NC) diet (18.5% CP, deficient in Thr and Gly) was supplemented with crystalline l-Thr and Gly to obtain a 4 Thr × 4 Gly design. Dietary Thr was tested at an apparent faecal digestibility (AFD) Thr-to-Lys ratio, which was 55%, 58%, 61% or 64%, and dietary Gly was tested at an AFD (Gly + Ser)-to-Lys ratio, which was 135%, 142%, 149% or 156%. Plasma samples were collected at 28 d. The low CP diet, formulated at 64% Thr and 156% Gly, resulted in a higher body weight gain (BWG) (P < 0.01) and similar feed conversion ratio (FCR) as the high CP treatment (PC). FCR was improved (P < 0.001) by l-Thr supplementation. Quadratic response to dietary Thr was significant for feed intake (FI), BWG and FCR (P < 0.01). A near-significant interaction for Thr × Gly was observed for FI and BWG (Plinear = 0.091 and P = 0.074, respectively). Gly did not affect production performance. An interaction between Thr × Gly on plasma free AA level was observed (P < 0.05). Free AA concentration in plasma linearly decreased with increase in AFD Thr-to-Lys ratio, and increased with increase in AFD (Gly + Ser)-to-Lys ratio. Plasma uric acid concentration was higher in PC than in all of the other diets, and plasma triglyceride concentration was decreased by l-Thr supplementation, but not by Gly. In conclusion, Gly was not limiting for growth at low dietary CP level unless Thr was deficient, showing that adequate amounts of Thr in broiler diets can overcome marginal supply of Gly and Ser and allow reduction of dietary CP from 20.5% to 18.5% for broilers from 7 to 28 d of age.  相似文献
