Sinusitis is a common disorder in horses and may result from trauma, dental diseases, or space-occupying lesions. Radiography can only provide a limited amount of information. Computed tomography (CT) has been documented as an alternative imaging method. Eighteen horses (mostly Warmblood) with signs of chronic sinusitis were examined preoperatively with CT to assist in diagnosis of the underlying cause. There was a group of common CT features in horses with dental disease and sinusitis. The first molar was the most frequently affected maxillary cheek tooth. Hypoattenuation of the cementum, destruction of the enamel, and filling of the infundibular cavity with gas were the most frequent CT findings associated with caries. Gas bubbles within the bulging root area or fragmentation of the root in combination with swelling of the adjacent sinus lining were the most important CT features of dental decay. CT findings associated with sinusitis included excessive thickening of the respiratory epithelium in the rostral maxillary sinus; the caudal maxillary sinus was less often involved. The infraorbital canal, the nasomaxillary duct, and the frontomaxillary aperture were usually involved. The maxillary bone, however, especially the facial crest, was involved in nearly every horse, being characterized by endosteal sclerosis, thickening, periosteal reaction, and deformation leading to facial swelling in chronic infections. CT images allowed identification of involvement of individual teeth more clearly to reveal the diseased one for treatment. Die Ausformung der Grünlandvegetation wird in entscheidendem Maße von den Grundwasserständen bestimmt. Die Nutzung spielt aber eine außerordentlich große Rolle bei entsprechenden Modifikationen. Ebenso ist wesentlich, welche Arten im Ausgangsbestand etabliert sind oder im Bodensamenvorrat bzw. als Diasporen vorkommen. Der Gesamtwasserverbrauch von Pflanzenbeständen wird durch komplizierte Wechselwirkungen zwischen Artenzusammensetzung und Nutzungsweise bestimmt. Mähbestände mit zweimaliger Nutzung benötigten in allen Versuchsjahren eindeutig mehr Wasser als Weidebestände, die viermal abgeweidet wurden. Im Ertrag gab es nur geringe Unterschiede zu Gunsten der Mähnutzung. Aus qualitativer Sicht ist das physiologisch jüngere Weidefutter überlegen. Im speziellen Wasserverbrauch bestätigte sich die Weide als wassersparende Variante der Niedermoorbewirtschaftung. Hochwüchsige und massereiche Mähbestände benötigen sehr viel Wasser, das in nordostdeutschen Niedermooren nur über Fremdwasserzufuhr bereitgestellt werden kann. Auch aus der Sicht des Bodenschutzes (Verdichtung, besserer kapillarer Wasseraufstieg, Reduktion der NO 3 -Freisetzung usw.) sollte die Weide die bestimmende Form der extensiven Grünlandnutzung sein. 相似文献

Das Schadbild entsprach einer Wuchsstoffeinwirkung; die Empfindlichkeit der Pflanzen war unterschiedlich. Anhand von Labor- und Gewächshaustesten konnte als Ursache die Immission eines Fä rbereihilfsmittels (Carrier) angenommen werden; es handelte sich dabei um einen substituierten Aromaten.

Submerged microbial cultures were screened for their potential to oxifunctionalize alpha-farnesene. The major oxidation product in all transforming cultures, 3,7,11-trimethyldodeca-1,3(E),5(E)10-tetraen-7-ol, showed a pleasant citrus-like odor and peak concentrations of 170 mg L-1. An Aspergillus niger isolate from mango generated another two terpene alcohols identified as diastereomeric menth-1-en-3-[2-methyl-1,3-butadienyl]-8-ol, a new natural compound with an apricot-like odor. The regiospecifity of the oxygen attack with concurrent lack of stereoselectivity suggested that the initial step of the bioconversion resembled the chemical autoxidation starting with the generation of an intermediate resonance-stabilized carbon-centered radical or carbocation. 相似文献

Innate immune responses are vital for pathogen defense but can result in septic shock when excessive. A key mediator of septic shock is tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα), which is shed from the plasma membrane after cleavage by the TNFα convertase (TACE). We report that the rhomboid family member iRhom2 interacted with TACE and regulated TNFα shedding. iRhom2 was critical for TACE maturation and trafficking to the cell surface in hematopoietic cells. Gene-targeted iRhom2-deficient mice showed reduced serum TNFα in response to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and could survive a lethal LPS dose. Furthermore, iRhom2-deficient mice failed to control the replication of Listeria monocytogenes. Our study has identified iRhom2 as a regulator of innate immunity that may be an important target for modulating sepsis and pathogen defense. 相似文献

以产志贺毒素样大肠杆菌(SLTEC)F18ab血清型标准菌株107/86基因组DNA为模板,利用PCR技术成功扩增出编码F18ab完整菌毛操纵子fed基因,克隆入表达载体pBR322,经限制性内切酶酶切分析,DNA琼脂糖电泳鉴定并结合序列测定分析,构建和筛选出含fed完整基因正确插入的pBR322-fed重组质粒,将上述重组质粒转化至不含任何菌毛结构的大肠杆菌SE5000,该表达重组菌能分别与兔抗F18ab亚单位蛋白FedF高免血清、鼠抗F18ab菌毛a单因子单克隆抗体、兔抗F18ab菌毛高免血清和抗F18ab菌毛IgG抗体产生明显的凝集反应。用热抽提法分别抽提和纯化SLTEC F18ab标准株107/86和重组菌SE5000(pBR322-fed)体外表达的F18ab菌毛,纯化菌毛经SDS-PAGE电泳和考马斯亮蓝染色获单一相对分子质量约为15 000蛋白条带。Western-blotting结果表明:兔抗F18ab菌毛高免血清能特异性识别SLTEC F18ab标准株107/86和重组菌SE5000(pBR322-fed)所提纯的单一主要结构蛋白。用重组菌SE5000(pBR322-fed)进行易感仔猪小肠上皮细胞体外黏附试验和黏附抑制试验,结果表明:重组菌SE5000(pBR322-fed)和SLTEC F18ab标准株107/86一样具有较强的黏附易感仔猪小肠上皮细胞的能力,而兔抗F18ab菌毛高免血清能有效地抑制上述重组菌SE5000(pBR322-fed)和SLTEC F18ab标准株107/86对易感仔猪小肠上皮细胞的黏附结合。 相似文献

Genetic variability of PRRS virus in Austria: consequences for molecular diagnostics and viral quantification 总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus is a virus with a relatively high level of sequence variation, especially between the European and the American-type strains. This high degree of sequence variations will influence the accuracy of results obtained by molecular diagnostic methods, especially if mutations are located in the primer or probe binding regions of PCR or real-time PCR based assays. In order to provide the basis for the development of an accurate, region-tailored assay we have analysed samples obtained from several Austrian pig herds using a series of RT-PCR assays. Subsequent sequencing of the PCR products from ORF5 and phylogenetic analysis revealed the occurrence of both the European and the American-type of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus in Austria. Since vaccination with the American-type vaccine is not authorized in Austria the import of vaccinated animals is the most likely explanation for the occurrence of these strains. The study highlights the importance of a detailed study on the sequence variations occurring in the region of interest before the development of a reliable PCR-based assay. 相似文献
