The sensitivity of CERES-Maize yield predictions to uncertainty in a set of soil-related parameters and solar radiation was evaluated in Pergamino, in the Argentine Pampas. Maize yields were simulated for Pergamino using a 31 years climatic record for a range of values of a group of important model input variables. The input variables considered (and the range evaluated) were: soil nitrogen content at sowing (from 20 to 80 Kg ha−1), soil organic matter content (from 1.75% to 4%), soil water storage capacity (from 150 to 200 mm), soil water content at sowing (from 50% to 100% of total available water), soil infiltration curve number (from 76 to 82) and daily solar radiation (from −20% to 12% of the historical values). Then, a sensitivity analysis using a combination of mathematical and graphical approaches was performed to evaluate the model response to changes in the values of the input variables considered. Moreover, a simplified method based on the evaluation of the model sensitivity at extreme values of the input variables is proposed to evaluate the model non-linear responses with a reduced number of runs. Under the scenario evaluated, representative of the typical maize productions systems of the Argentine Pampas, the model results showed higher sensitivity to changes in radiation (normalized sensitivity were −0.69 and 0.45 for rainfed and irrigated conditions, respectively) than for the soil variables (normalized sensitivity ranged from 0.20 to 0.28). The CERES-Maize model was found to have similar sensitivity for the different soil inputs. Furthermore, some of the variables evaluated (soil curve number, soil water content at sowing and radiation under rainfed conditions) showed an important non-linear response.  相似文献

The essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of the fresh aerial parts of Mentha microphylla C. Kock (Lamiaceae) collected on the Gennargentu Mountains (Sardinia, Italy) has been investigated by gas chromatography (GC) and GC/mass spectrometry (MS). The main constituents that resulted were pulegone (34.1%), piperitenone oxide (32.9%), and piperitenone (11.3%). The presence of small amounts of compounds such as ethyl hexanoate, 1-octen-3-ol, nonanal, and ethyl 2-methylbutanoate could justify the particular odorous profile of the plant, resembling the aroma of milk and other dairy products such as mozzarella.  相似文献

The herbicide atrazine (6-chloro-N2-ethyl-N4-isopropyl-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine) was incorporated in alginate-based granules to obtain controlled-release (CR) properties. The basic formulation [sodium alginate (1.40%)-atrazine (0.60%)-water] was modified by the addition of sorbents. The effect on atrazine release rate caused by the incorporation of acid-treated bentonite (0.5 and 2.5 M H2SO4) in alginate formulation was studied by immersion of the granules in water under static conditions. The water uptake, sorption capacity of the sorbent, permeability, and time taken for 50% of the active ingredient to be released into water, t50, were calculated for the comparison of the preparations. t50 values were longer for those formulations containing acid-treated bentonite (36.78 and 29.01 days for 0.5 and 2.5 M H2SO4 treatments, respectively) than for the preparation without bentonite (9.69 days). On the basis of a parameter of an empirical equation used to fit the herbicide release data, it appears that the release of atrazine from the various formulations into water is controlled by diffusion mechanism. The sorption capacity of the sorbents and the permeability of the formulations (ranging from 4.99 to 20.83 mg day(-1) mm(-1)) were the most important factors affecting herbicide release.  相似文献

In recent years, erythromycin has received considerable attention for its therapeutic efficacy against some bacterial kidney diseases in aquaculture and, therefore, suitable and sensitive analytical methods to monitor erythromycin residues in fish are required. A fast sample treatment followed by an LC-ESI-MS/MS method is described for the purification, identification, and quantification of erythromycin A residues in fish. After two extractions with acetonitrile, samples were defatted with n-hexane, filtered, and analyzed by tandem mass spectrometry. Three characteristic transition reactions (m/z 734 --> 716, 734 --> 576, and 734 --> 558) in multiple reaction monitoring were tested for the determination and confirmation of erythromycin A. The method was in-house validated through the determination of precision, accuracy, specificity, stability, calibration curve, decision limit (CCalpha), and detection capability (CCbeta), in accordance with European Commission Decision 657/2002. The coefficients of variation ranged from 1.8 to 9.4% and from 7.5 to 10.9% for intra- and interday repeatability, respectively. Recovery data were also satisfactory, with values varying from 85 to 97%. The method was specific, stable, and robust enough for the required purposes. The calibration curve showed a good linearity in the whole range of the tested concentrations (0-1000 microg kg(-1)) with a correlation coefficient (r2) equal to 0.9956. CCalpha and CCbeta were found to be 220 and 238 microg kg(-1), respectively.  相似文献

The African tulip tree, Spathodea campanulata, the most common tree in Puerto Rico, forms novel forest types with mixtures of native and other introduced tree species. Novel forests increase in area in response to human activity and there is no information about their biomass accumulation and nutrient cycling. We established allometric relationships and chemically analyzed plant parts of African tulip trees to determine the concentration and standing stock of chemical elements (C, N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, Mn, Al, Fe, Na), and ash. Trees ranged in diameter at breast height from 8 to 85 cm and in height from 8.8 to 28 m. The concentrations of N, P, K, and Ca in leaves of the African tulip tree were similar to those of the native pioneer Cecropia schreberiana and higher than those of mature forest tree species in Puerto Rico. The over bark wood volume of African tulip trees in nine forest stands where it was dominant ranged from 163 to 849 m3/ha. Aboveground biomass ranged from 60 to 296 Mg/ha, and N and P stocks ranged from 190 to 988 and 32 to 137 kg/ha, respectively. Novel forests on abandoned agricultural lands can store more biomass and elements than native and plantation forest stands of similar age.  相似文献

Provision of food and water is a widespread tool implemented around the world for the benefit of game and other wildlife, but factors affecting the use of food and water by non-target species are poorly known. We evaluated visits to feeders and water troughs by non-game species using camera-traps in two separate areas of Spain. Feeders and water troughs were either “protected” (when surrounded by more than 50% of shrubs/forest) or “open” (in the opposite case). A total of 18 948 photos from 5344 camera-trapping days depicted animals, and 75 species were identified. Feeders and water troughs were visited by target species (partridges and lagomorphs, 55.3% of visits) and non-target species (44.7% of visits). Among the latter, corvids were the most common (46.1% of visits), followed by rodents (26.8%), other birds (23.6%, mainly passerines), columbids (1.9%), and other species at minor percentages. The highest proportion of visiting days to feeders and water troughs was from corvids (0.173) followed by other-birds (0.109) and rodents (0.083); the lowest proportion was recorded for columbids (0.016). Use intensity and visit frequency of water troughs tripled that recorded in feeders, and visits to open feeders/troughs were approximately twice those to protected ones. In summary: feeders and water troughs targeting small game species are also used regularly by non-target ones; they should be set close to cover to optimize their use by non-target species that are not competitors of target species (though corvids may visit them); water availability should be prioritized where drought periods are expected.  相似文献

Teak is a very important tropical timber in Ecuador. In 2017, teak samples displaying stem canker symptoms were collected in two provinces of Ecuador. From 11 symptomatic trees, 11 isolates resembling a species of Lasiodiplodia were obtained. All isolates obtained induced stem canker on teak plants after artificial inoculation, confirming them as the cause of the observed canker symptoms. Bayesian inference with concatenated sequences of complete ITS and partial TEF-α and β-TUB gene sequences from two representative isolates clustered teak isolates with other sequences of Lasiodiplodia theobromae available in Genbank. This is the first report of L. theobromae causing stem canker on teak plants in Ecuador.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to determine the pharmacokinetics of a long-acting formulation of ceftiofur crystalline-free acid (CCFA) following intramuscular injection in ball pythons (Python regius). Six adult ball pythons received an injection of CCFA (15 mg/kg) in the epaxial muscles. Blood samples were collected by cardiocentesis immediately prior to and at 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 18, 24, 48, 72, 96, 144, 192, 240, 288, 384, 480, 576, 720, and 864 hr after CCFA administration. Plasma ceftiofur concentrations were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography. A noncompartmental pharmacokinetic analysis was applied to the data. Maximum plasma concentration (Cmax) was 7.096 +/- 1.95 microg/ml and occurred at (Tmax) 2.17 +/- 0.98 hr. The area under the curve (0 to infinity) for ceftiofur was 74.59 +/- 13.05 microg x h/ml and the elimination half-life associated with the terminal slope of the concentration-time curve was 64.31 +/- 14.2 hr. Mean residence time (0 to infinity) was 46.85 +/- 13.53 hr. CCFA at 15 mg/kg was well tolerated in all the pythons. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) data for bacterial isolates from snakes are not well established. For MIC values of < or =0.1 microg/ml, a single dose of CCFA (15 mg/kg) provides adequate plasma concentrations for at least 5 days in the ball python. For MICs > or =0.5 microg/ml, more frequent dosing or a higher dosage may be required.  相似文献

The genus Asparagus is very large consisting of around 150 species found as herbaceous perennials, tender woody shrubs and vines. The cultivated species (Asparagus officinalis L., diploid) is a highly prized vegetable, grown in different environments ranging from cool temperate zones to deserts, Mediterranean climates and tropical areas. As a consequence, Asparagus breeders have developed different cultivars that differ for their morpho-agronomic traits, habit and ploidic status (few triploid and tetraploid cultivars are used). Several breeding methods are used for developing cultivars, among which a well developed in vitro anther culture technique produces homozygous clones useful for F1 hybrids constitution. A fluorescent based AFLP (amplified fragment length polymorphism) technique were applied with the aim to assess genetic diversity among a collection of 173 doubled haploid (DH) androgenetic clones, five Asparagus wild species and interspecific hybrids obtained among the cultivated species and two wild relatives. The average number of AFLP fragments generated per primer set was 105, varying in size from 50 to 550 bp. A total of 1054 AFLP fragments were detected, 20% of which were polymorphic. Genetic similarity based on DNA polymorphisms, showed that a few number of AFLP primer combinations are able to distinguish the cultivated DH clones from the wild species. Indeed, from one DH clone for each anther donors and the wild species were used to construct a dendrogram using Dice's coefficient and the unweighted pair group method with the arithmetic mean (UPGMA). Genetic distances among all DH clones were calculated using the C.S. Chord distance; and a neighbour-joining (NJ) consensus tree was constructed in order to support the breeder for parental genotype choice for asparagus hybrid constitution.  相似文献
