This work assesses the use of immobilized humic acid (ImHA) onto aminopropyl silica (APS) as a sorbent for the removal and preconcentration of trace amounts of cobalt ions by on-line solid phase extraction (SPE) technique in the column system prepared in our laboratory. Different parameters, such as the effect of the pH, concentration, and flow rate, were studied and throughput was observed by a UV detector. All SPE steps were monitored by breakthrough curves used to visualize distribution of cobalt concentration between mobile and solid phase. The solutions collected from stripping steps were analyzed in atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS) and the amount of sorbed ions was calculated. Sorption characteristics were evaluated by using common adsorption isotherms and Scatchard plot analysis. From the obtained results, it was seen that sorption mechanism of cobalt ions were fitted to Langmuir model on a large scale and thought to be localized. Mean free energy (E?=?40.82?kJ?mol?1) calculated from D-R isotherm showed that chemical interactions are more effective than physical interactions. This investigation reveals a new, simple, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective method for removal and preconcentration of cobalt ions from aqueous solutions by a new aminopropyl silica-immobilized humic acid material.  相似文献

Alteration of plant lignin concentration is expected to affect the C mineralization of crop residues. Mutations of single genes involved in biosynthesis of secondary cell walls such as KNOTTED ARABIDOPSIS THALIANA 7 (KNAT7), PRODUCTION OF ANTHOCYANIN PIGMENT 1 (PAP1) also known as MYB75, and cinnamoyl CoA reductase 1 (CCR1) coding genes could change lignin concentration in specific plant tissues. This study assessed the CO2–C production of soil amended with stem and root tissues of down-regulated (k/o) and over expression (o/x) KNAT7 and MYB75 and the CCR1 k/o mutant lines of A. thaliana. KNAT7 k/o and MYB75 k/o were grown in two different environmental conditions (two cohorts) in the greenhouse. Oven dried, finely ground (<0.5 mm) stem and root residues underwent biochemical analysis, then were mixed separately with sandy loam or clay loam soil to assess CO2–C production under controlled laboratory conditions for 63 days. Compared to wild ecotypes, C:N ratio and acid unhydrolyzable fraction (AUF) concentration tended to be higher in stem residues of KNAT7 k/o and MYB75 k/o mutant lines. The C:N ratio was lower in stem and roots of CCR1 k/o line, and the AUF concentration was lower in CCR1 k/o stem residues than in the wild ecotypes. Hemicelluloses were lower in stem residues of KNAT7 k/o and MYB75 k/o (first cohort) than their wild ecotypes. Cumulative CO2–C production was lower in soil amended with stem residues of KNAT7 k/o (first cohort) and MYB75 k/o (first and second cohorts). CCR1 k/o stem tissues caused higher CO2–C production from soil. After 63 days incubation, the acid/aldehyde ratio (Ad/Al) of vanillin (V) and syringyl (S) lignin monomers of soil was higher for stem amended CCR1 k/o and lower for stem amended MYB75 k/o soils as compared to their wild ecotypes. Generally root residues caused lower CO2–C production from soil than stem residues. There was no difference in CO2–C production for root residues between mutant lines and their wild ecotypes. In conclusion, KNAT7 k/o, MYB75 k/o and CCR1 k/o mutations resulted in altered C:N ratio and resistant compounds (i.e., AUF) especially in stems, and these alterations in residue chemistry influenced CO2–C production and also lignin degradation in soil.  相似文献

As in Turkey, pepper is among the most widely produced and consumed plant species worldwide. Plant nutrients and fertilization programs have significant effects on seed yield and quality of peppers. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the effects of effective microorganism (EM) treatments and nitrogen fertilization on seed yield and quality parameters of peppers. Kandil Dolma and Yalova Çorbac? pepper cultivars commonly grown in Turkey were used as the plant material of the experiments. Three different EM treatments (0, 2 and 3?L da?1 EM) with and without N fertilizer were used. The greatest seed yield of both cultivars (68.57?kg da?1 in Kandil Dolma and 94.90?kg da?1 in Yalova Çorbac?) were obtained from 3?L EM?+?2.60?kg da ?1 N treatments. EM treatments increased germination ratio of Yalova Çorbac?, but the differences in mean germination times were not found to be significant. Germination index, an indicator of seed performance, increased with EM treatments in both cultivars.

Quantum confinement of itinerant electrons in atomically smooth ultrathin lead films produces strong oscillations in the thickness-dependent film energy. By adding extra electrons via bismuth alloying, we showed that both the structural stability and the superconducting properties of such films can be tuned. The phase boundary (upper critical field) between the superconducting vortex state and the normal state indicates an anomalous suppression of superconducting order just below the critical temperature, Tc. This suppression varies systematically with the film thickness and the bismuth content and can be parametrized in terms of a characteristic temperature, Tc* (less than Tc), that is inversely proportional to the scattering mean free path. The results indicate that the isotropic nature of the superconductive pairing in bulk lead-bismuth alloys is altered in the quantum regime.  相似文献

Duane's retraction syndrome (DRS) is a complex congenital eye movement disorder caused by aberrant innervation of the extraocular muscles by axons of brainstem motor neurons. Studying families with a variant form of the disorder (DURS2-DRS), we have identified causative heterozygous missense mutations in CHN1, a gene on chromosome 2q31 that encodes alpha2-chimaerin, a Rac guanosine triphosphatase-activating protein (RacGAP) signaling protein previously implicated in the pathfinding of corticospinal axons in mice. We found that these are gain-of-function mutations that increase alpha2-chimaerin RacGAP activity in vitro. Several of the mutations appeared to enhance alpha2-chimaerin translocation to the cell membrane or enhance its ability to self-associate. Expression of mutant alpha2-chimaerin constructs in chick embryos resulted in failure of oculomotor axons to innervate their target extraocular muscles. We conclude that alpha2-chimaerin has a critical developmental function in ocular motor axon pathfinding.  相似文献

The effects on the milling quality of bulgur were compared using stone, disc and hammer mills. For each milling system bulgur particles were examined for appearance, surface structure, dimensions (max., min., mean, standard deviations and coefficient of variance), particle size distribution, bulk density and 1000 particle weight. Smooth and regular shaped bulgur particles were obtained using the abrasive stone and disc mills. Stone milled bulgur particles, were not split or glassy, but were opaque. Hammer milling significantly affected the appearance and surface characteristics of the bulgur particles and gave the lowest minimum dimensions and the highest deviation and variance in dimensions. The milling yields for hammer (98.3%) and stone (97.4%) mills were higher than for the disc mill (96.5%). Each mill gave a different distribution between coarse, medium and fine fractions. The highest yield of the coarse fraction (83.1%) was obtained using the stone mill. The results indicate that due to loss of quality, hammer milling is not suitable for bulgur preparation.  相似文献

Samh seeds obtained from Al-Jouf area were ground into flour analyzed and used as a replacement for wheat in the ratio of 10, 20 and 30% for bread and 30, 60 100% for cookies. The rheological effect of the Samh flour on Saudi wheat flour was also studied. The bread and cookies obtained were evaluated physically and by sensory evaluation. The results obtained indicated that samh flour has high protein content and could be used as a replacement for wheat flour upto 30% without adversely affecting the bread specific volume much. Samh flour has improved the cookies appearance specially the colour (chocolate colour) and spreading ratio. The results also revealed that it is possible to make cookies from 100% samh flour. Due to the high protein content of the samh seeds the nutritional value of the bread and cookies made with samh flour will be improved. The results of the sensory evaluation of the bread and cookies indicated that the bread made with samh flour upto 30% has similar characters except for the crumb color and the overall acceptability which were rated as significantly inferior. The sensory evaluation of the cookies showed that the cookies made with samh flour upto 100% were significantly superior (p<0.05) to the cookies made with 100% wheat flour (control).  相似文献

The prevalence of equine piroplasmosis caused by Theileria equi and Babesia caballi in Nigde, in central Anatolia, Turkey has remained unknown. Serum samples were obtained from a total of 125 horses and were tested for antibodies to T. equi and B. caballi using the Indirect Fluorescence Antibody Test (IFAT). Twenty-three (18.4%) horses were seropositive for equine piroplasmosis. Anti-T. equi was observed in 16 horses (12.8%) while anti-B. caballi was detected in 12 horses (9.6%). In addition, 5 serum samples were positive for both parasites. The prevalence rates of antibodies to T. equi and B. caballi for female and male horses were statistically indifferent (p = 0.19 and 0.90). The difference between the seropositivity rates to T. equi among age groups was statistically insignificant (p = 0.44) while the difference to B. caballi among age groups is statistically significant (p = 0.01). Seropositivity rates ranged from 2.9% to 25.7% for T. equi and 2.9% to 14.3% for B. caballi from the selected districts in Nigde. A statistically significant difference on seropositivity rates for the study sites was observed for only T.equi (p = 0.03). This study indicates that T. equi is higher than B. caballi in Nigde. The present study was carried out to assess the prevalence of motile Aeromonas spp. in the faeces of clinically healthy sheep, cattle and horses and evaluate their susceptibility to some anti-microbial agents. Rectal swabs from 120 sheep, 85 cattle and 20 horses were examined for Aeromonas species using alkaline peptone water (pH 8.4) as the enrichment medium and Aeromonas Selective Agar containing 5 mg/l ampicillin as the isolation medium. Identification and antibiotic resistance of motile Aeromonas strains was performed using Gram Negative Enteric ID panel. Motile aeromonads were isolated from 12 (10%) sheep, 7 (8.2%) cattle and 1 (5%) horse. Of these 20 aeromonad isolates, 13 were A. caviae, 6 were A.sobria and 1 was A. hydrophila. Aeromonas species in the faeces of livestock might pose a public health problem for humans who are in direct contact with contaminated animals. However, further studies should be performed on aeromonads relating to their transmission between animals and humans.  相似文献

This study was conducted to determine the effects of cysteamine, hypotaurine and aminoacids solution (BME) on standard semen parameters, lipid peroxidation and antioxidant activities of Angora goat semen after the freeze–thawing process. Ejaculates collected from four Angora goats were evaluated and pooled at 37 °C. Semen samples, which were diluted with a Tris-based extender containing the antioxidants hypotaurine (5 mM) and cysteamine (5 mM), and an aminoacid solution (13%), and an extender containing no antioxidants (control), were cooled to 5 °C and frozen in 0.25-ml French straws in liquid nitrogen. Frozen straws were thawed individually at 37 °C for 20 s in a water bath for evaluation.Supplementation with cysteamine, hypotaurine and BME caused significant (P < 0.05) increases in sperm motility, and significant (P < 0.05) decreases in total abnormality rates in comparison to the control group. While all in vitro treatments did not affect the acrosomal abnormality rates, hypotaurine and BME but not cysteamine significantly (P < 0.05) increased the HOST results as compared to the control group. Supplementation with antioxidants and BME did not significantly affect MDA levels and CAT activity in comparison to the control group (P > 0.05). The antioxidants hypotaurine and cysteamine decreased SOD activity when compared to the BME group and controls (P < 0.001).  相似文献
