An epizootic of lymphoma in northern pike, Esox lucius L., from the Åland Islands of Finland

Abstract. An epizootic of lymphoma in northern pike, Esox lucius L., occurring in the Åland Islands in Finnish waters of the Baltic Sea is described. Macroscopic inspection of 19 tumorous pike, 17 males and two females, as well as tissue observations by light and electron microscopy showed that this lymphoma is similar to those previously reported in esocid fishes from North America, Ireland and Sweden. Haematoxylin and eosin-stained light microscopic sections of tumour tissue suggested its classification as a lymphoblastic or stem cell lymphoma. Tumour cells cultured during several months at 4°C showed morphological features of differentiation and resembled plasma cells. No conclusive evidence of the presence of viruses in the lesion was obtained.  相似文献   

Congestive cardiac failure as a result of tuberculous pericarditis

A clinical case of tuberculous pericarditis in the dog is described. Necropsy indicated that the disease was widely disseminated throughout the body of the dog including kidney and lung. This animal therefore constituted a public health risk.
Résumé. On décrit un cas clinique de péricardite tuberculeuse chez le chien. L'autopsie a révélé que la maladie s'était fortemente répandue dans le corps du chien et avait atteint les reins et les poumons. Par conséquent, cet animal menaçait la santé publique.
Zusammenfassung. Ein klinischer Fall von tuberkulöser Pericarditis beim Hund wird beschrieben. Die Nekropsie zeigte, dass sich die Krankheit weit im Körper des Hundes, auch in der Niere und Lunge, verbreitet hatte. Dieses Tier stellte deshalb ein öffentliches Gesundheitsrisiko dar.  相似文献

Myelofibrosis in the dog: three case reports

Myelofibrosis has been reported infrequently in dogs. The pathological features of three dogs with this disease are described. All three animals were presented clinically with non-regenerative anaemia. In two dogs, the neoplastic disorder was unaccompanied by other myeloproliferative disease and was characterized histologically by extensive replacement of normal bone marrow elements by proliferating reticulum cells and myeloid metaplasia of the enlarged liver and spleen. In one animal, focal myeloid metaplasia were also present in the lungs. In the third dog, myelofibrosis was accompanied by erythraemic myelosis and in this animal immature erythroid cells were present in blood, bone marrow, liver and spleen.  相似文献
