Susceptibility to asthma depends on variation at an unknown number of genetic loci. To identify susceptibility genes on chromosome 7p, we adopted a hierarchical genotyping design, leading to the identification of a 133-kilobase risk-conferring segment containing two genes. One of these coded for an orphan G protein-coupled receptor named GPRA (G protein-coupled receptor for asthma susceptibility), which showed distinct distribution of protein isoforms between bronchial biopsies from healthy and asthmatic individuals. In three cohorts from Finland and Canada, single nucleotide polymorphism-tagged haplotypes associated with high serum immunoglobulin E or asthma. The murine ortholog of GPRA was up-regulated in a mouse model of ovalbumin-induced inflammation. Together, these data implicate GPRA in the pathogenesis of atopy and asthma.  相似文献

The present study describes the development of DNA vaccines using the hemagglutinin-neuraminidase (HN) and fusion (F) genes from AF2240 Newcastle disease virus strain, namely pIRES/HN, pIRES/F and pIRES-F/HN. Transient expression analysis of the constructs in Vero cells revealed the successful expression of gene inserts in vitro. Moreover, in vivo experiments showed that single vaccination with the constructed plasmid DNA (pDNA) followed by a boost with inactivated vaccine induced a significant difference in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay antibody levels (p < 0.05) elicited by either pIRES/F, pIRES/F+ pIRES/HN or pIRES-F/HN at one week after the booster in specific pathogen free chickens when compared with the inactivated vaccine alone. Taken together, these results indicated that recombinant pDNA could be used to increase the efficacy of the inactivated vaccine immunization procedure.  相似文献

A greenhouse experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of different culture media on plantlet emergence, vegetative and generative traits of Marigold (Calendula officinalis) in randomized complete block design with ten treatments and three replications. The treatments were consisted of spent mushroom compost (SMC), alluvium soil (AS), garden soil (GS), SMC + AS (2:1), SMC + GS (2:1), SMC + AS (1:2), SMC + GS (1:2), AS + GS (2:1), GS + AS (2:1) and SMC + AS + GS (1:1:1). The results showed that application of SMC had positive effects on the vase life of flower and the number of days from the first bloom appearance. The vase life of flower was the highest (17.4 days) in the media containing SMC alone and the shortest (12.3 days) in media containing SMC + AS (1:2). However, mixture of SMC with AS or GS had significant positive effects on the evaluated traits. Generally, AS, SMC + AS or GS (2:1) and GS treatments had a better situation than other media.  相似文献

This study examined the effect of application of different doses of the natural zeolite clinoptilolite and different irrigation levels on yield and quality of potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.), cv. Agria, and the nutrient contents of the soil under water-deficit stress in Konya-Karap?nar, Turkey. The study was established in a split-plot design with three replications. The main factor was the zeolite dose (Z0:0, Z3:30, Z6:60, Z9:90 and Z12:120 t ha?1) and the sub factor the irrigation level (I50: 0.50, I75: 0.75 and I100:1.00). In I100 treatment, irrigation was applied to fill 0–60-cm soil-depth until field capacity. In other treatments (I75-I50), it was given up to 75 and 50% of water applied to I100 treatment at 6-day intervals. The amounts of irrigation water were determined by class-A pan evaporation using canopy area. For potato tuber yield, several quality characteristics and some nutrient element content in the soil, significant interaction occurred between zeolite doses and irrigation level (P?<?0.01). The highest crop yields, 33.9–39.1 and 33.5–34.3 kg ha?1, respectively, were obtained from Z6I100 and Z6I75 applications in both years. There were no significant differences between these two treatments and also several other treatments (Z3I100, Z9I100 and Z12I100). In the experimental years, water consumption of Z6I75 treatment was determined as 509 and 420 mm, respectively. Some physical and chemical contents (the cation exchange capacity—CEC, exchangeable sodium percentage—ESP and total P, K, Ca, Mg, Zn and Mn contents) of the experiment soil were affected by zeolite treatments. These results showed that certain zeolite doses with optimum irrigation can be helpful for potato grown in water-deficit stress conditions because of positive effects on some soil physical and chemical properties and crop quality.  相似文献

In this study, we prepared silver nanoparticles immobilized onto silica sand beads as an antibacterial material against pathogenic luminous Vibrio sp. Persian1. Silica beads were modified with 3‐aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES), cyanuric chlorid and tetraethylene pentamine, and silver nanoparticles were generated in various concentrations (0.5, 1, and 2 mM g?1 of silica beads) of AgNO3 on the surface using chemical reduction. Ag/TEPA‐Den‐SiO2 samples were characterized by TEM, FE‐SEM/EDS, FT‐IR and ICP OES and their antibacterial activity assayed by zone of inhibition and test tube tests against pathogenic Vibrio sp. The results of the zone inhibitory test revealed that all the Ag/TEPA‐Den‐SiO2 samples had an antibacterial effect against luminous Vibrio sp. Persian1. In addition, the tube test results showed 100% killing of bacteria in 2 h contact period. Ag/TEPA‐Den‐SiO2 samples maintained their antibacterial activity after 14‐day immersion in seawater by slow release of silver ions. These results suggest that Ag/TEPA‐Den‐SiO2 substrates could be effective antibacterial materials for disinfection of seawater used to culture Penaeid shrimp larvae.  相似文献

Background:Lithium is a therapeutic option for the treatment of the acute phase of the bipolar disorder and long-term management of this disorder. However, it is estimated that 10 to 60% of patients do not properly response to this medication.Methods:To investigate the role of MARK2 gene in response to lithium, we genotyped the MARK2 rs10792421 polymorphism in Iranian bipolar patients using ARMS-PCR.Results:Results of this study showed a significant association of this polymorphism with response to lithium. The A allele was more frequent in the responder than the non-responder group and also in the semi- responder group compared to the non-responder group in the codominant model of analysis. AA and AG genotypes were more frequent in both the responder and semi-responder groups compared to the non-responder group in dominant model of analysis.Conclusion:Based on the findings of the current study, the rs10792421 variant of MARK2 gene could be considered as a potential biomarker for predicting the treatment outcome of bipolar disorder type 1 in Iranian population. This study evaluated the effects of a commercial prebiotic, Immunogen, on feed utilization, growth rate, immunity promotion and carcass composition of the common carp Cyprinus carpio fingerlings. The fingerlings were adopted for 2 weeks and then reared in triplicate groups in 250-l tanks (n = 15 per tank with average initial weights of 11.12 ± 0.55 g). The fish fed on five isonitrogenous and isoenergetic experimental diets containing different levels of Immunogen (0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2.5 g prebiotic/kg diet) to apparent satiation thrice a day for 8 weeks. Weight gain showed no differences among the groups fed different Immunogen levels. Both feed efficiency ratio and protein efficiency ratio significantly (p < 0.05) increased with increasing Immunogen levels from 0.5 to 1.5 g/kg diet. The highest protein content (p < 0.05) was found in the fish fed a diet containing 2.5 g/kg prebiotic. Haematological parameters and plasma total protein concentration were also significantly higher (p < 0.05) in the fingerlings fed diets containing 1.5 and 2.5 g/kg prebiotic in relation to the control. The control fish contained the highest mean of total bacterial counts. The lowest mean (p < 0.05) of total bacterial counts was observed in the fish fed the diet containing 2.5 g/kg Immunogen. The present study reveals that a dietary Immunogen supplementation from 1 to 1.5 g/kg is capable to improve the feed efficiency and growth performance of C. carpio fingerlings as well as their resistance to A. hydrophila infection.  相似文献

In this research, usefulness of IRS-LISS-III data of Gorgan Bay, South-east of Caspian Sea located in North of Iran for water turbidity mapping, has been tested. After correction of geometric and radiometric errors, the resulting radiance data were used for examination of correlations between the remotely sensed and in situ water turbidity data simultaneously measured by the Secchi depth approach. Results of this research showed good relations between the Secchi depth and spectral data. The fitted statistical model was very significant (R2 = 0.77) and test of the model performance by independent samples was encouraging. Because of the low costs encountered with acquisition and processing of remotely sensed data, further research in larger scales for the purpose of more precise test of the approach for water turbidity mapping and monitoring is recommended.  相似文献
