Classical swine fever (CSF) is a highly contagious systemic hemorrhagic viral disease of pigs. Wild boar plays a crucial role in the epidemiology of CSF. Between 2010 and 2014, samples were collected nationwide from 6,654 wild boars hunted in South Korea. Anti-CSF antibodies were identified in 0.59% (39 of 6,654) of the wild boar samples using a virus neutralization test and were primarily detected in wild boars living close to the demilitarized zone and the area of the Taebaek Mountains surroundings. The CSF virus (subgroup 2.1b) was isolated from two wild boars captured in a nearby border area. The criteria used to define high-risk areas for targeted CSF surveillance in South Korea should be further expanded to include other regions nationwide.  相似文献

The in vitro fermentability of three novel dietary fibers (DFs) prepared from mushroom sclerotia, namely, Pleurotus tuber-regium, Polyporous rhinocerus, and Wolfiporia cocos, was investigated and compared with that of the cellulose control. All DF samples (0.5 g each) were fermented in vitro with a human fecal homogenate (10 mL) in a batch system (total volume, 50 mL) under strictly anaerobic conditions (using oxygen reducing enzyme and under argon atmosphere) at 37 degrees C for 24 h. All three novel sclerotial DFs exhibited notably higher dry matter disappearance (P. tuber-regium, 8.56%; P. rhinocerus, 13.5%; and W. cocos, 53.4%) and organic matter disappearance (P. tuber-regium, 9.82%; P. rhinocerus, 14.6%; and W. cocos, 57.4%) when compared with those of the cellulose control. Nevertheless, only the W. cocos DF was remarkably degraded to produce considerable amounts of total short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) (5.23 mmol/g DF on organic matter basis, with a relatively higher molar ratio of propionate) that lowered the pH of its nonfermented residue to a slightly acidic level (5.89). Variations on the in vitro fermentability among the three sclerotial DFs might mainly be attributed to their different amounts of interwoven hyphae present (different amounts of enzyme inaccessible cell wall components) as well as the possible different structural arrangement (linkage and degree of branching) of their beta-glucans.  相似文献

In this study, we evaluated the effect of the molecular weight of the polymer on electrospun poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) nonwovens, and their mechanical properties as a function of the linear velocity of drum surface. Polymer solutions and electrospun PET nonwovens were characterized by means of viscometer, tensiometer, scanning electron microscope (SEM), wide angle X-ray diffraction measurement (WAXD) and universal testing machine (UTM). By keeping the uniform solution viscosity, regardless of molecular weight differences, electrospun PET nonwovens with similar average diameter could be obtained. In addition, the mechanical properties of the electrospun PET nonwovens were strongly dependent on the linear velocity of drum surface. From the results of the WAXD scan, it was found that the polymer took on a particular molecular orientation when the linear velocity of drum surface was increased. The peaks became more definite and apparent, evolving from an amorphous pattern at 0 m/min to peaks and signifying the presence of crystallinity at 45 m/min.  相似文献

Polyurethane (PU) layer and copolymer consisted of the different molecular weights (1000 and 2000 g/mol) of poly(propylene glycol) (PPG) were prepared. The damping and mechanical properties of these materials were compared with PU1000 made by PPG having the molecular weight of 1000 g/mol. The optimum composition of PU2000 used for PU layer and copolymer was diphenylmethane diioscynate (MDI)/propylene glycol (PPG)/butanediol (BD) (1/0.3/0.7) based on the damping and mechanical properties. The damping peak of PU copolymer was higher than those of PU layer and PU1000 in low temperature range (−30–10 °C). For application in noise reduction, the transmission loss of the mechanical vibration through solid structure was measured. PU layer and copolymer were used as a damping layer. The transmission loss of PU copolymer was more effective than those of PU layer and PU1000 in the experimental frequency range.  相似文献

The purpose of our study was to create a novel rat aorta stent implantation model. Stainless steel bare metal stents (BMS) or paclitaxel-eluting stents (PES) were implanted in male Sprague-Dawley rats (BW 400 ± 20 g). Two and four weeks after stent implantation, the aorta were collected, fixed with 2% glutaraldehyde, and cut into two segments. One segment was used for scanning electron microscopy analysis to evaluate re-endothelialization, and the other segment was used to calculate the neointimal area. At 2 weeks after stenting, the appearance of neointimal hyperplasia was less in the PES group than in the BMS group. At 4 weeks after stenting, no significant difference in neointimal hyperplasia was observed between two groups. On the other hand, the PES group showed more thrombus formation and less re-endothelialization compared to the BMS group. This study demonstrated the ability of a novel rat model of aorta stenting via a common carotid artery to measure the efficacy and safety of commercially available drug-eluting stents.  相似文献

The kinetic parameters, including the activation energyE, the reaction ordern, and the pre-exponential factorZ, of the degradation of the copolymers based on the poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) or poly(p-dioxanone-co-L-lactide) (PDO/PLLA) and diol-terminated poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) segments have been evaluated by the single heating methods of Friedman and Freeman-Carroll. The experimental results showed that copolymers exhibited two degradation steps under nitrogen that can be ascribed to PLLA or PDO/PLLA and PEG segments, respectively. However, copolymers exhibited almost single degradation step in air. Although the values of initial decomposition temperature were scattered, copolymers showed the lower maximum weight loss rate and degradation-activation energy in air than in nitrogen whereas the higher value of temperature at the maximum rate of weight loss was observed in air.  相似文献

Dietary substitution effect of sea tangle (ST) with rice bran (RB) on growth and carcass composition of juvenile abalone (Haliotis discus) was determined. Juvenile abalone was acclimated to the experimental conditions for 4 weeks. Seventy juvenile abalone averaging 0.43 g were randomly distributed into each of the 18, 70 L plastic rectangular containers. The experimental diets were fed to abalone once a day at a satiation level with a little leftover. The feeding trial lasted for 16 weeks. Survival of abalone was not affected by dietary substitution of ST with RB. However, weight gain of abalone fed the RB40 diet was higher than that of abalone fed the all other diets except for the RB0 diet. No significant difference in weight gain was found in abalone fed between the RB0 and RB100 diets. SGR of abalone fed the RB40 diet was higher than that of abalone fed the all other diets. Also SGR of abalone fed the RB0 diet was higher than that of abalone fed the RB100 diet, but not different from that of abalone fed the RB20, RB60 and RB80 diets. Moisture, crude protein and ash content of the soft body of abalone were affected by dietary substitution of ST with RB. In conclusion, the 100% ST could be substituted with RB without a retardation of weight gain of abalone when the 20% ST was included into the experimental diet. However, the best growth performance was obtained in abalone fed the RB40 diet substituting 40% ST with RB.  相似文献

Semi‐purified, casein‐gelatin‐based diets were prepared and supplemented with quercetin (Q) and/ or ascorbic acid (AA): control diet C–Q–(100 mg/kg AA), diet C –Q+ (100 mg/kg AA + quercetin 10 g/kg), diet C +Q– (1000 mg/kg AA), and diet C +Q+ (1000 mg/kg AA + quercetin 10 g/kg). These diets were fed to tilapia for 19 wk and then fish were divided into controls and ultraviolet (UV) treatments. Fish were exposed to UV radiation. Control groups were protected with a MYLAR® polyester film and plexiglass. At week 20, the same fish were re‐exposed to UV radiation. Control groups of fish were protected by a double layer of MYLAR® and the UV groups were exposed with no protection. Before UV exposure, 24 h after, and 7 d after the second treatment, fish liver and skin were dissected for Q and AA analyses. The proportion of oxidized ascorbate was significantly increased in fish from treatments C –Q– and C –Q+ . Q concentrations in fish after exposures were negligible in skin, whereas liver concentrations were significantly different among control (34 ± 10 μg/g) and UV‐irradiated fish (11 ± 6 μg/g), respectively. The interaction between these two dietary antioxidants may change after chronic UV irradiation.  相似文献
