The morphology, infraciliature, silverline system, and the small subunit ribosomal RNA (SSU rRNA) of the little-known marine scuticociliate Pseudocohnilembus longisetusThompson, 1965 from the diseased black rockfish Sebastes schlegelii in Korea were studied. This scuticociliate possessed the typical characteristics of the genus Pseudocohnilembus, but could be discriminated from Pseudocohnilembus hargisi, and Pseudocohnilembus persalinus in terms of the body size, shape, the number of somatic kineties and kinetids in somatic kinety 1, and the number/position of contractile vacuole pores. The SSU rRNA gene of P. longisetus was sequenced in order to gain a better understanding of appropriate phylogenetic classification. The SSU rRNA was 1754 bp and the sequence was deposited in GenBank under accession number FJ899594. The SSU rRNA gene sequences of P. longisetus had an identity of 98.1%, 96.8% and 95.3% with P. hargisi, P. persalinus, and Pseudocohnilembus marinus SSU rRNA sequences, respectively. Our population of P. longisetus belonged to the genus Pseudocohnilembus and was in an isolated position based on the SSU rRNA gene tree, which was consistent with the conclusions based on the morphological studies. However, further investigation is required to determine the pathogenicity of this species.  相似文献

This is the first investigation to show that oligotrophic denitrifying bacteria are dominant denitrifiers in subsurface upland soil. We examined the vertical distribution of denitrifying bacterial populations in upland soil using two kinds of enumeration media. The number of denitrifying bacteria, enumerated in subsurface soil layers by a 100-fold diluted nutrient broth (DNB) medium with NO3 , was two to three orders of magnitude greater than those enumerated by a conventional nutrient broth medium with NO3 , suggesting the dominance of oligotrophic denitrifying bacteria. Seventy-four percent of the total denitrifying bacterial isolates were DNB organisms of the oligotrophic type, which did not show appreciable growth on a conventional nutrient broth medium. The isolates were heterogeneous and were categorized as alpha (35 strains) and beta (19 strains) subdivisions of proteobacteria and high G+C gram-positive bacteria (7 strains) by 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. The 35-alpha subdivision of proteobacterial isolates was of oligotrophic type and widely distributed from the surface to subsurface soil layers. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that some isolates belonged to groups with few or no cultivated representatives, and that one isolate may be a member of a new genus. This isolation procedure, using diluted media, is valuable in detecting diverse and novel denitrifying bacteria in the subsurface soil.  相似文献

Mammary secretions obtained from four groups of sows at parturition and on days 7, 14 and 21 of lactation were defatted and assayed for total protein and insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I). Sows (n = 57) represented two breeds (Landrace and Duroc) and two genetic lines (selected for differences in sow productivity index, SPI) within each breed. Colostrum of Duroc sows was 4-6 fold and 30-60 fold greater in protein (P less than .001) and IGF-I (P less than .001) concentrations, respectively, than the corresponding day 7 milk from these sows. In contrast, the colostrum of Landrace sows was 2-3 fold and 30-50 fold greater in protein (P less than .001) and IGF-I (P less than .001) concentrations, respectively, than the corresponding day 7 milk. The IGF-I content in milk from Duroc sows did not differ among days 7, 14 and 21 of lactation, whereas the IGF-I content of day 7 milk from Landrace sows exceeded those for the corresponding 14 day and 21 day secretion (P less than .05). IGF-I concentration in days 14 and 21 milk was higher in Duroc (P less than .001 respectively) than Landrace sows. No significant differences in total protein or IGF-I content of mammary secretions were observed between the selected and control lines within each breed.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

试验旨在研究添加不同水平纤维素酶对香蕉茎与小麦麸混合青贮品质的影响。在调制香蕉茎与小麦麸质量比为9:1的混合青贮中,设对照组和分别添加纤维素酶0.05 g/kg (WB-CEL1)、0.15 g/kg (WBCEL2)和0.25 g/kg (WB-CEL3)的3个处理组,同时调制香蕉茎单贮。每个处理重复3次。常温下贮存60天,开封后评定青贮的品质。(1)较香蕉茎单贮,混贮对照组的pH、气体损失率(GLR)和中性洗涤纤维(NDF)降低(P<0.01);(2)与混贮对照组相比,3个水平纤维素酶组的干物质(DM)和干物质回收率(DMR)升高、氨态氮(AN/TN)降低(P<0.01);(3)与0.05 g/kg组相比,0.15 g/kg组和0.25 g/kg组的AN/TN降低、水溶性碳水化合物(WSC)升高(P<0.05);(4)与0.15 g/kg组相比,0.25 g/kg组的NDF降低(P<0.01)。表明,香蕉茎与小麦麸混贮优于香蕉茎单贮,在香蕉茎与小麦麸混贮中添加不同水平的纤维素酶均能显著提高青贮品质,以添加0.25 g/kg纤维素酶的效果最好。  相似文献

Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) is one of the antioxidant enzymes which help protect against cellular damage. The present study examined the ability of Quercetin-3-O-β-d-glucuronopyranoside (QGC), flavonoid glucoside extracted from Rumex Aquaticus Herba, to induce expression of HO-1 and analyzed its signaling mechanism in cultured feline esophageal epithelial cells (EEC). Culture of the esophageal epithelial cells from cat was prepared. The data suggested that QGC could result in enhanced antioxidant enzyme defense system via HO-1 expression and Nrf2 translocation involving both the ERK and PI3K-Akt pathways as well as partly PKC pathways in EEC.  相似文献

BackgroundDicyemids are parasites found in the renal sac of cephalopods. The first species of dicyemid was found from kidneys of the Korean common octopus Callistoctopus minor.ObjectivesThis study aimed to identify the dicyemid and investigate the effect on renal sac of host.MethodsIn this study, we compared the morphological characteristics of isolate to dicyemids (Dicyema sphyrocephalum, Dicyema clavatum, and Dicyema dolichocephalum) reported from C. minor in Japan. We compared the 18S ribosomal RNA (rDNA) and cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequences of isolate to the sequences of D. shyrocephalum and D. clavatum. The infected octopuses renal tissues were histologically compared with the tissues of uninfected individuals.ResultsThe morphological characteristic of this isolated species corresponds to D. sphyrocephalum. The sequences similarities of 18S rDNA and COI gene of isolate are 99.7% and 98.1% with D. sphyrocephalum. We observed morphological changes in the epithelia folds of kidney at the dicyemids attached areas.ConclusionsThe present study identified the isolate as D. sphyrocephalum and this is the first report of dicyemid species from Republic of Korea. Further studies on the effects of dicyemids on growth and health status of cephalopods will be needed.  相似文献

The NASA-GSFC magnetic field experiment on Mariner 10 is the first flight of a dual magnetometer system conceived to permit accurate measurements of weak magnetic fields in space in the presence of a significant and variable spacecraft magnetic field. Results from a preliminary analysis of a limted data set are summarized in this report, which is restricted primarily to Venus encounter. A detached bow shock wave that develops as the super Alfvénic solar wind interacts with the Venusian atmosphere has been observed. However, the unique coincidence of trajectory position and interplanetary field orientation at the time of bow shock crossing led to a very disturbed shock profile with considerably enhanced upstream magnetic fluctuations. At present it is not possible to ascertain the nature and characteristics of the obstacle responsible for deflecting the solar wind flow. Far downstream disturbances associated with the solar wind wake have been observed.  相似文献
