Zusammenfassung Die Korrelationsstruktur kultivierterSorghum-Sippen wurde mittels Berechnungen von Koeffizienten der Divergenz der Korrelationen (KDK) und Ähnlichkeitskoeffizienten (ÄK) untersucht. Dafür wurden22 Merkmale an 54 nach dem System vonJakusevkij (1969) 7 Kulturarten zugerechnetenSorghum-Sippen geprüft. Besonders wurden morphologische Merkmale der vegetativen Sphäre und ökologische Merkmale untersucht, die gewöhnlich für dieSorghum-Systematik, die sich auf Merkmale der Organe der generativen Sphäre gründet, keine große Rolle spielen.Nach den Ergebnissen von KDK und ÄK erweist sich der S.durra-Komplex, der deutlich viele Kulturpflanzenmerkmale zeigt, als besonders hoch entwickelt. Ihm sehr ähnlich ist derS. nervosum-Komplex. DerS. guineense-Komplex dagegen steht weit von diesen Artenkomplexen, die sich im Zentrum der Diagramme befinden (Abb. 3 und 4), entfernt. Seine Merkmale entsprechen im Durchschnitt auch mehr dem Wildtyp.Beim Studium der Korrelationsstruktur war es möglich, anhand der von uns gewählten Merkmale manche Artenkomplexe deutlich zu unterscheiden. Es wird festgestellt, daß einige der in neuerer Zeit zu einer Art zusammengefaßten kultiviertenSorghum- Sippen als eigenständige Arten aufgefaßt werden können.
Remarks on some cultivatedSorghum races on the basis of their correlation structure
Summary The correlation structure of cultivatedSorghum races was studied by using the coefficient of divergence of correlations (KDK) and the coefficient of similiarity (ÄK). In 54Sorghum races (table 1), which were grouped into 7 species (table 2) according toJakuevskij (1969),22 characters (table 3) were studied. Above all morphological characters from vegetative organs and ecological characters were tested, which do not play an important role for the systematics ofSorghum, because this is founded on characters from generative organs mainly. The results from KDK (fig. 3) and ÄK (fig. 4) show that theS. durra — complex is highly developed and has many characters of cultivated plants. TheS. nervosum-complex is similar to it. Whereas theS. guineense — complex can be found at the periphery of the diagrams (fig. 3 and 4) far away from the already mentioned complexes, which are located in the centres of the diagrams. The characters of theS. guineense — complex are similar to the wildSorghums mainly.From the study of the correlation structure it was possible to separate some of the species — complexes very clearly by using the above mentioned characters. We can state that some of the cultivatedSorghums, which are now often united into one species, may be regarded as good species.

Fifteen dogs with hemangiosarcoma were treated with a combination of vincristine, doxorubicin, and cyclophosphamide after incisional or excisional biopsy. The median survival for all fifteen dogs was 172 days (mean survival = 316 days). The median survival for those dogs with splenic hemangiosarcoma was 145 days (mean survival = 271 days) as compared with previously published median survival times in dogs with splenic hemangiosarcoma treated with surgery alone of 19 to 65 days. Toxicities included neutropenia (11/15), severe gastroenteritis (4/15), cardiotoxicity (3/15), and sepsis (2/15). The authors conclude that vincristine, doxorubicin, and cyclophosphamide chemotherapy may be an efficacious treatment modality in dogs with hemangiosarcoma and is associated with acceptable toxicity.  相似文献

Due to its geographic position on the northeastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula and its sea trade relationships with Asia, East Africa and the Middle East, Oman has for millennia been at the cross-roads of inter-regional exchange of cultivated plants. This is reflected in recent findings of new cultivars of banana (Musa spp.) and wheat (Triticum spp.) in remote oases of the Hajar Mountains in northern Oman. Material collected in 2003 and 2004 contained six new botanical varieties of wheat which are described here. One of them belongs to the tetraploid T. aethiopicum, the others are hexaploid.  相似文献

Little information is available regarding the biodiversity and potential use of jute (Corchorus species) in Ethiopian agriculture. The present study summarizes species’ occurrence, use, geographical distribution, ecology, and ethnobotany of Corchorus species in Ethiopia. An ecogeographical study, conducted in the Amhara, Oromia and Gambella Regional States in 2005 and 2008 resulted in the collection of seven different species with more than 100 accessions. The study revealed low similarity in species composition between the Regional States, indicating that each region has its own unique set of species. Species numbers are higher in the north-eastern and south-western than the central part of the country. C. aestuans L. and C. tridens L. are restricted to humid lowlands of south-western part of Ethiopia, growing at elevations up to 490 m, whereas, C. urticifolius Wight et Arn., C. trilocularis L. and C. schimperi Cufod. were collected only in the north-eastern part of the country with elevation ranges of 1,380–2,130 m. The only species collected at a higher elevation (>2,100 m) was C. schimperi Cufod. Farmers’ perception, indigenous knowledge and folk taxonomy of jute species are better in Gambella than the other studied regions. Although several Corchorus species are reported from Ethiopia, these species are neither cultivated nor popularly used as leafy vegetables. This is mainly due to lack of awareness or knowledge about the species use, and abundant distribution of the species that allows gathering of edible leaves with little expenditure of time, labour and other resources. Our results revealed that some species are threatened, which necessitates highest priority for jute germplasm conservation in the country. In addition, creating public awareness about the use of jute species as a cheap source of leafy vegetable will play an important role to diversify food sources, reduce malnutrition, and contribute to household income generation of the farming community.  相似文献

Although not without its critics, considerable recognition has been given to the climate cooling benefits provided by storing carbon from biomass in various storage pools. However, it has recently been found that depending on the storage pool/period and source of biomass, the associated climate impacts may be a burden or a benefit. It is important that carbon accounting schemes and life cycle assessment practitioners take these carbon/CO2 flux dynamics and the climate impacts that they create into consideration. In this work we illustrate these climate impacts with a Norwegian case study using a material flow analysis of the biogenic carbon in harvested wood products derived from a 2006 harvest year. We illustrate the dynamic carbon balance over time and show how the climate impacts can diverge greatly between two well-known climate impact metrics: global warming potential (GWP) and global temperature potential (GTP). We also show how these climate impacts can be attributed to contributing parties with an example of a glue laminated beam value chain which is stored in a long-lived building. We discuss the associated attribution issues that will inevitably arise and we offer recommendations on how best to minimize them.  相似文献

In this paper we characterize the metabolic fingerprint and first reported anti-inflammatory activity of Hypericum gentianoides. H. gentianoides has a history of medical use by Native Americans, but it has been studied very little for biological activity. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS) analyses of a methanol extract show that H. gentianoides contains a family of over nine related compounds that have retention times, mass spectra, and a distinctive UV absorption spectra characteristic of certain acyl-phloroglucinols. These metabolites are abundant relative to other secondary products present in H. gentianoides, accounting for approximately 0.2 g per gram of dry plant tissue. H. gentianoides methanol extracts and a specific semipreparative HPLC fraction from these extracts containing the putative acyl-phloroglucinols reduce prostaglandin E 2 synthesis in mammalian macrophages.  相似文献

To validate the use of the tissue microarray (TMA) method for immunophenotyping of ferret lymphomas, a TMA was constructed containing duplicate 1-mm cores sampled from 112 paraffin-embedded lymphoma tissue specimens obtained from 43 ferret lymphoma cases. Immunohistochemical (IHC) expression of CD3, CD79alpha, and Ki-67 (MIB-1) was determined by TMA and whole mount (WM) staining of each individual case for result comparison. There was a high correlation between CD79alpha and CD3 results comparing ferret TMA and WM sections (kappa statistic 0.71-0.73 for single-core TMA and 0.79-0.95 for duplicate-core TMA) and between continuous data from Ki-67 staining of ferret TMA sections and WM sections (concordance correlation coefficients 0.77 for single cores and 0.87 for duplicate cores). Subsequently, a panel of commercially available antibodies was applied to the TMA for the analysis of expression in ferret lymphomas. The results of this study confirmed previously published results suggesting specific cross-reactivity of the applied IHC markers (CD3, CD79alpha, Ki67) with ferret lymphoma tissue. Other IHC markers (CD45Ro, bcl2, bcl10, MUM1, CD30, vimentin) were also expressed in subsets of the included ferret lymphomas. Further studies are necessary to determine the usefulness of these markers for diagnostic and prognostic evaluation of ferret lymphomas. In conclusion, the TMA technology was useful for rapid and accurate analysis of protein expression in large archival cohorts of ferret lymphoma cases.  相似文献
