The evolution, from 1 to 10 days after germination, of flavonoid content in sprouts of tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum Gaertn.), grown in a greenhouse under low light conditions (16 μmol m−2 s−1), was investigated. Chlorogenic acid and flavonoids including C-glycosylflavones (orientin, isoorientin, vitexin, isovitexin), rutin and quercetin were separated from the sprouts by HPLC and quantified with their commercial standards. Rutin content in the edible portion of the sprouts (mean 20 and 37 mg g−1 DW in ‘Hokkai T 8’ and ‘Hokkai T 10’, respectively) was 3- to 31-fold greater than that in the roots or pericarp. The free radical scavenging activity of seed sprouts was assessed through the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay. From 6 to 10 days after sowing, the free radical scavenging activity in the edible portions rose significantly from 1.52 to 2.33 μmol Trolox equiv. g−1 DW in ‘Hokkai T 8’ and from 1.46 to 2.09 μmol Trolox equiv. g−1 DW in ‘Hokkai T 10’, but differences between ‘Hokkai T 8’ and ‘Hokkai T 10’ were not significant. As the results, the sprouts of tartary buckwheat, particularly those of ‘Hokkai T 10’ are strongly recommended as new high rutin food.  相似文献

The distribution of reticulocerebellar (RC) neurons was examined by the retrograde transport of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) or wheat germ agglutinin bound to HRP (WGA-HRP) in 7 White Leghorn chickens. A large number of labeled cells were found in the nucleus reticularis pontis caudalis (RP) of the pontomedullary junction and in the nucleus reticularis gigantocellularis (Rgc), parvocellularis (Rpc), subtrigiminalis (Rst), paragigantocellularis (Rpg) and paramedianus (RpaM) in the medulla. Slightly ventral to the vestibulocochlear nerve were many large RC neurons arranged in a longitudinal manner along the lateral edge of the brainstem reticular formation (the Dorsolateral edge cells, DLe cells). RC neurons were most numerous in the Rgc and accounted for 31.9% of the total number of labeled cells, followed by RP (24.2%), Rpc (12.7%), Rpg (10.8%), RpaM (6.7%), DLe cells (6.3%) and Rst (4.9%). The great number of RC neurons was found around the levels of the vestibulocochlear nerve.  相似文献

Sixteen cases of malignant soft tissue sarcoma (STS; 10 canines and six felines) were treated with a novel triple therapy that combined photodynamic therapy, hyperthermia using indocyanine green with a broadband light source, and local chemotherapy after surgical tumor resection. This triple therapy was called photodynamic hyperthermal chemotherapy (PHCT). In all cases, the surgical margin was insufficient. In one feline case, PHCT was performed without surgical resection. PHCT was performed over an interval of 1 to 2 weeks and was repeated three to 21 times. No severe side effects, including severe skin burns, necrosis, or skin suture rupture, were observed in any of the animals. No disease recurrence was observed in seven out of 10 (70.0%) dogs and three out of six (50.0%) cats over the follow-up periods ranging from 238 to 1901 days. These results suggest that PHCT decreases the risk of STS recurrence. PHCT should therefore be considered an adjuvant therapy for treating companion animals with STS in veterinary medicine.  相似文献

Ulva and Enteromorpha are cosmopolitan and familiar marine algal genera. It is well known that these green macroalgae lose their natural morphology during short-term cultivation under aseptic conditions and during long-term cultivation in nutrient-added seawater and adopt an unusual form instead. These phenomena led to the belief that undefined morphogenetic factors that were indispensable to the foliaceous morphology of macroalgae exist throughout the oceans. We characterize a causative factor, named thallusin, isolated from an epiphytic marine bacterium. Thallusin induces normal germination and morphogenesis of green macroalgae.  相似文献
