Very few studies deal with the rare earth element (REE) content within paddy soil systems. This paper presents, for the first time, the distribution of REEs in paddy soils from three different regions in Sri Lanka. Seventy samples from the Kalutara and Kandy regions located in the Wet Zone and Anuradhapura region in the Dry Zone were selected for this study. ICP-MS measurements were performed on the soil samples to determine their respective REE concentrations. The sum content of all the REEs (REE) in these three regions were 182, 186 and 132 g/g, respectively. The mean concentrations for the 70 soil samples in µg/g were 35(La), 77 (Ce), 7.6 (Pr), 27.6 (Nd), 4.8 (Sm), 0.87 (Eu), 4.1 (Gd), 0.54 (Tb), 2.91 (Dy), 0.56 (Ho), 1.57 (Er), 0.21(Tm), 1.44 (Tb), and 0.23 (Lu). The chondrite-normalized REE patterns of the paddy soils from the three study areas were similar, which may be a reflection of comparable parent materials. Kalutara soils, which are richer in organic matter and kaolinite, showed a higher lighter REE content and lower heavy REE content with a more pronounced negative Eu anomaly with respect to the other regions. Langjährig unterlassene Kalkung führte bei mineralisch (NPK) und mit Stallmist gedüngtem Boden in den letzten 20 Versuchsjahren zu pH‐Werten von 4,2 bis 3,6. Die Relativerträge nahmen im Vergleich zur mineralischen Volldüngung (NPKCa) ab. Diese Abnahme war von der Pflanzenart abhängig und bei Sommergerste deutlicher als bei Kartoffeln und Mais. Kalkung des mit NPK gedüngten Bodens erhöhte die Erträge bei Mais bereits im ersten Jahr, bei Gerste und Kartoffeln erst nach mehreren Jahren auf das Niveau der Vergleichsvariante. Bei einer Umstellung von Stallmist auf Stallmist + NPKCa glichen sich die Erträge von Mais und Sommergerste im gleichen Jahr, bei Kartoffeln erst nach mehreren Jahren dem langjährig mit Stallmist + NPKCa gedüngten Prüfglied an. Im langjährig ungedüngten Boden fielen pH‐Wert, KDL und PDL in den letzten 20 Versuchsjahren ebenfalls deutlich ab (pH 3,6 bis 4,1; KDL 2,2 bis 5,0 und PDL 3,5 bis 5,5 mg/100 g Boden). In deren Folge und durch N‐Mangel kam es bei Gerste zum Totalausfall und bei Mais nahezu zum Totalausfall. Bei Kartoffeln lag der Ertrag noch bei 15% der Vergleichsvariante NPKCa. Eine Düngung der Mangelparzellen mit NPKCa ließ den pH‐Wert bereits im ersten Jahr, KDL und PDL erst nach mehrmaliger Düngung in den anzustrebenden Bereich ansteigen. Eine Angleichung der Erträge an die Erträge des durchgehend mit NPKCa gedüngten Prüfgliedes dauerte drei bis vier Jahre. 相似文献

Abstract Water-soluble carbohydrates and fibre fractions are important traits that influence forage utilization by the ruminant. Little is known about the quality variation among perennial ryegrass genotypes within the same maturity group or between near-isogenic diploids and tetraploids. The current study was carried out in the form of two experiments on two successive years (2006–2007) in three sites in Northern Germany. The main aim was to investigate the variation in nutritive value that could be attributed to differences in maturity among 20 intermediate heading perennial ryegrass genotypes or to differences in ploidy between near-isogenic diploids and tetraploids. Results of the first experiment revealed significant variation among the 20 tested genotypes in the investigated quality parameters that were consistent with the discovered variation in the maturity of the genotypes determined in terms of their Mean Stage by Count (MSC). In the second experiment, few but consistent significant differences were detected between near-isogenic diploids and tetraploids. The tetraploid derivatives had always significantly higher water-soluble carbohydrate content and lower neutral detergent fibre (NDF), acid detergent fibre (ADF) and acid detergent lignin (ADL) than their near-isogenic diploid parents. 相似文献

In the period 1994–1996 a post-harvest survey was conducted in wheat, barley and oats to assess the occurrence and geographic distribution of Fusarium species in Norwegian cereals. The number of samples investigated was adjusted proportionally to the production of each cereal species within the regions. A total of 695 grain samples were analysed. The amount of Fusarium infection varied with cereal species and region of origin. The most frequently isolated Fusarium spp. from all samples were F. avenaceum, F. poae, F. tricinctum and F. culmorum. Other important toxigenic Fusarium spp. were F. graminearum, “powdery F. poae”, F. equiseti and F. sporotrichioides. A north-south gradient was valid for F. tricinctum, F. poae and in 1994 for “powdery F. poae”. In 1994 “powdery F. poae” was the most abundant potential producer of HT-2 and T-2 toxins in Norwegian cereals. Distribution of F. graminearum and F. culmorum demonstrated in this study, corresponded to previously reported DON-distribution, although DON seems to be produced by different species in different regions. Endozoochory is known as an important mechanism for the spread of weeds. We carried out experiments to assess the fate of seeds of several weed species (Convolvulus arvensis, Cuscuta campestris, Rumex crispus, Hordeum spontaneum and Sorghum halepense) after passing through the gut of sheep and goat. Eighteen animals of both sheep and goat received diet mixed with seeds of the weed species or control with only wheat bran (five weed species + control × three replications). Results showed that a higher proportion of seeds were missing after passage through the sheep gut than in goats. In goats, a greater proportion of seeds were dead after passage, but the number of seeds collected from dung was also greater. Weed species differed, with the highest seed recovery and viability in Cuscuta campestris. Based on time of seed passages through the animal gut estimated for the different weed species, we recommend that sheep should be kept in a corral for 96 hr to minimise seed transportation via their faeces. For goats, if R. crispus and C. arvensis seeds could be excluded from the diet, then maintaining them for 96 hr in an animal stall would ensure little seed transportation via dung, but we found R. crispus and C. arvensis seeds to be present and viable in goat dung even 120 hr after feeding. Very large numbers of viable seeds can be found in goat and sheep dung, so the use of rotted manure is highly recommended to avoid transportation of viable seeds via manure fertilisers. 相似文献

In this study we demonstrate that the demosponge Suberites domuncula harbors a Mn(II)-oxidizing bacterium, a Bacillus strain, termed BAC-SubDo-03. Our studies showed that Mn(II) stimulates bacterial growth and induces sporulation. Moreover, we show that these bacteria immobilize manganese on their cell surface. Comparison of the 16S rDNA sequence allowed the grouping of BAC-SubDo-03 to the Mn-precipitating bacteria. Analysis of the spore cell wall revealed that it contains an Mn(II)-oxidizing enzyme. Co-incubation studies of BAC-SubDo-03 with 100 μM MnCl(2) and >1 μM of CuCl(2) showed an increase in their Mn(II)-oxidizing capacity. In order to prove that a multicopper oxidase-like enzyme(s) (MCO) exists in the cell wall of the S. domuncula-associated BAC-SubDo-03 Bacillus strain, the gene encoding this enzyme was cloned (mnxG-SubDo-03). Sequence alignment of the deduced MCO protein (MnxG-SubDo-03) revealed that the sponge bacterium clusters together with known Mn(II)-oxidizing bacteria. The expression of the mnxG-SubDo-03 gene is under strong control of extracellular Mn(II). Based on these findings, we assume that BAC-SubDo-03 might serve as a Mn reserve in the sponge providing the animal with the capacity to detoxify Mn in the environment. Applying the in vitro primmorph cell culture system we could demonstrate that sponge cells, that were co-incubated with BAC-SubDo-03 in the presence of Mn(II), show an increased proliferation potential. 相似文献
