OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects of metabolic acidosis and changes in ionized calcium (Ca2+) concentration on PaO2 in dogs. ANIMALS: 33 anesthetized dogs receiving assisted ventilation. PROCEDURE: Normal acid-base status was maintained in 8 dogs (group I), and metabolic acidosis was induced in 25 dogs. For 60 minutes, normocalcemia was maintained in group I and 10 other dogs (group II), and 10 dogs were allowed to become hypercalcemic (group III); hypocalcemia was then induced in groups I and II. Groups II and IV (5 dogs) were treated identically except that, at 90 minutes, the latter underwent parathyroidectomy. At intervals, variables including PaO2, Ca2+ concentration, arterial blood pH (pHa), and systolic blood pressure were assessed. RESULTS: In group II, PaO2 increased from baseline value (96 +/- 2 mm Hg) within 10 minutes (pHa, 7.33 +/- 0.001); at 60 minutes (pHa, 7.21 +/- 0.02), PaO2 was 108 +/- 2 mm Hg. For the same pHa decrease, the PaO2 increase was less in group III. In group I, hypocalcemia caused PaO2 to progressively increase (from 95 +/- 2 mm Hg to 104 +/- 3 mm Hg), which correlated (r = -0.66) significantly with a decrease in systolic blood pressure (from 156 +/- 9 mm Hg to 118 +/- 10 mm Hg). Parathyroidectomy did not alter PaO2 values. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Induction of hypocalcemia and metabolic acidosis each increased PaO2 in anesthetized dogs, whereas acidosis-induced hypercalcemia attenuated that increase. In anesthetized dogs, development of metabolic acidosis or hypocalcemia is likely to affect ventilatory control. 相似文献

Retrospective analyses may provide an understanding of unexploited genetic potential and indicate possible pathways for future yield improvement. The objectives of this study were to present maize(Zea mays L.)yield trends and plant traits changes for maize cultivars from the 1950s to the 2000s in China. Trials were conducted at three locations in 2007 and 2008, and at four locations in 2009. Twenty-seven single hybrids, four double-cross hybrids, and four open-pollinated varieties, were grown at three densities at each location each year. 56% of total yield gain was contributed to breeding from 1950 to 2000. New hybrids had more resistance to compound stress. Levels of response of all hybrids to higher-yielding environments were similar, and greater than that of OPVs. All maize cultivars showed morphological changes for all characteristics tested in a volatile manner from 1950 to 2000, except for relatively stable leaf number. ASI decreased and tolerance to root lodging improved, which were enhanced at higher plant densities. There were no trends for other characteristics at higher densities. Shorter maturity, smaller plant size and more tolerance to root and stalk lodging will be required for further yield improvement. 采用不同药剂处理黄瓜根结线虫病以筛选高效低毒低残留药剂,研究结果表明:全生育期1次用药,不同药剂处理下,黄瓜病情指数表现不同,其中对照病指最高,为66.67;其次为藜芦碱及辛硫磷病指分别为46.67和40;印楝素,印楝素+辛硫磷,藜芦碱+辛硫磷,病情指数较低,防效显著;以印楝素+辛硫磷防效最高,为54%,差异显著性分析显示印楝素与辛硫磷减半混配表现出一定的增效作用,防效分别高于单用印楝素、辛硫磷,且在P0.05水平上显著;在产量表现方面,所有药剂处理下均表现出一定的增产水平,即使是防效较差的藜芦碱其增产率也达19.98%。 相似文献

A scheme of inductive wireless receiver circuit is put forward, according to special requirement of inductive wireless power supply in artificial subretinal prosthesis circuit. The proposed receiver circuit can be divided into CMOS rectifier, regulator and self-biasing circuit. The CMOS rectifier is used to provide power supply for regulator and self-biasing circuit. The self-biasing circuit furnishes the regulator with bias voltage and bias current which is independent from power supply. The proposed receiver circuit is designed by Cadence tool and Chartered 0.35 μm CMOS device model, and oscillator in artificial subretinal chip is used as the proposed receiver circuit’s load. The results show that the proposed receiver circuit can provide load capacity of 3.3 V and >1 mA,with a layout size of 62 μm×195 μm. 相似文献

A cross-sectional study was carried out to determine the seroprevalence and risk factors associated with bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) infection in non-vaccinated dairy and dual-purpose cattle herds from Ecuador. A total of 2,367 serum samples from 346 herds were collected from June 2008 to February 2009. A questionnaire, which included variables related to cattle, health, management measures, and the environment, was filled out in each herd. Presence of antibodies against BRSV was analyzed using a commercial indirect ELISA test. A logistic regression model was used to determine risk factors associated with BRSV at herd level. The individual seroprevalence against BRSV in non-vaccinated herds in Ecuador was 80.48% [1,905/2,367; 95% confidence interval (CI)?=?78.9-82.1]. The herd prevalence was 91.3% (316/346; 95% CI?=?88.3-94.3), and the intra-herd prevalence ranged between 25% and 100% (mean, 90.47%). The logistic regression model showed that the existence of bordering cattle farms, the dual-purpose farms, and the altitude of the farm (more than 2,338?m above sea level) were risk factors associated with BRSV infection. This is the first study about BRSV prevalence in Ecuador. It shows the wide spread of the BRSV infection in the country. The risk factors found will help to design effective control strategies. 相似文献

Erythromycin is an antimicrobial agent recommended for the control and treatment of diseases caused by gram-positive bacteria. Few studies, however, have determined the metabolic and pharmacokinetic aspects of this antimicrobial agent in fish. The aim of the present study, therefore, was to determine the accumulation and depletion time of erythromycin after administration of medicated feed containing 52 mg kg(-1) body weight day(-1) for 8 days in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Results were analyzed following the European Agency for Evaluation of Medicinal Products guidelines. We measured a withdrawal time of 187°C-day (°C-day=water temperature×days), lower than the value (500°C-day) recommended by Council Directive 2004/28/EC for veterinary medicinal products. Our results provide data to establish therapeutic regimens for the use of erythromycin in aquaculture. 相似文献
