The thermochemolytic behavior of 4-O-etherified cinnamyl alcohols and aldehydes in lignin was investigated in the presence of tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) (315 degrees C/4 s), using veratrylglycol-beta-(coniferyl alcohol) ether (1a), veratrylglycol-beta-(sinapyl alcohol) ether (1b), and veratrylglycol-beta-(coniferyl aldehyde) ether (2). The methylated products were monitored with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Dimers 1a and 1b provided the coniferyl and sinapyl alcohol dimethyl ethers consisting of three isomers, respectively. Coniferyl alcohol dimethyl ether isomers were also observed in the TMAH thermochemolysis pyrolysates of a bulk dehydrogenation polymer of coniferyl alcohol and a Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) wood. Coniferyl aldehyde methyl ether was not provided from TMAH thermochemolyses of coniferyl aldehyde, 2, a dehydrogenation polymer of coniferyl aldehyde, and the cedar wood. The former three provided veratryl aldehyde in a large abundance, instead of coniferyl aldehyde methyl ether. Sinapyl aldehyde provided 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzaldehyde in a large abundance and sinapyl aldehyde methyl ether in a trace abundance. The results showed that TMAH thermochemolysis is an effective tool to obtain information on cinnamyl alcohol end groups, but is not applicable to analysis of cinnamyl aldehyde end groups.  相似文献

The chromosome numbers of a total of 273 Dasypyrumbreviaristatum plants sampled from 20 Moroccan and one Greek naturalpopulations were examined. 270 plants from all of the populations weretetraploids. Among them, 223 were eu-tetraploids with 28 chromosomes and 47 wereaneuploids with 25, 27 and 29 chromosomes. Besides, three plants were found tobe diploids among 16 plants from a population in the Moyen Atlas Mountains ofMorocco. This is the second report of a diploid cytotype ofD. breviaristatum since the firstcommunication in 1957. Morphologically, the diploids were similar to but smallerthan the tetraploids in plant height, spike length, spikelet number and leafepidermis cell size. However, it was not possible to distinguish between the twocytotypes based on those morphological characteristics alone. A distinctdifference was found between the two cytotypes only in the number of trichomeson the leaf surfaces. The karyotype of the diploid cytotype consisted of a pairof SAT-chromosomes, five pairs of metacentric and a pair of submetacentricchromosomes. Based on the similarity in karyotype and in plant morphologybetween the two cytotypes of D.breviaristatum, we suggest that the diploid cytotype is themost probable candidate for the ancestral form of the tetraploid cytotype.  相似文献

We examined the relationships between the shape of the first parity lactation curve and udder disease incidence at different stages of lactation in 538 Holstein cows. Data used were first‐parity daily milk yields and treatment records. Each cow was classified according to whether or not it had had udder disease at least once over the whole lactation period or in one of three stages within the lactation period. We then examined the differences in the shapes of the lactation curves between the disease incidence and non‐incidence group in each stage. Cows that had high rates of increase in milk yield and high milk yields in early lactation were predisposed to udder disease afterwards. Cows with high milk production over a long period but with low lactation persistency were predisposed to udder disease after the peak of lactation. There was no difference in total milk yield between incidence and non‐incidence groups in all stages, suggesting that, for a comparable level of lactation, cows without udder diseases have flatter lactation curves.  相似文献

The reaction rates ( k s) of tocopherol metabolites (alpha-, gamma-, and delta-CEHC) and Trolox with aroxyl radical have been measured in ethanol and micellar solution by a stopped-flow spectrophotometer, and the k s values obtained were compared with those reported for tocopherols (alpha-, beta-, gamma-, and delta-tocopherol, TocH) and tocol. The rate constants ( k s) increased in the order of Tocol < delta-CEHC < delta-TocH < gamma-CEHC < Trolox approximately gamma-TocH approximately beta-TocH < alpha-CEHC < alpha-TocH in ethanol. The antioxidants that have lower oxidation potentials ( E p) showed higher reactivities. The k s values of alpha-, beta-, gamma-, and delta-tocopherol and tocol in micelle remained constant between pH 4 and pH 10 and decreased rapidly at pH 11~12 by increasing pH value. On the other hand, the k s values of alpha-CEHC, gamma-CEHC, and Trolox showed notable pH dependence. As a result of the detailed analysis of the pH dependence of the rate constants ( k s), the structure-activity relationship in the free radical-scavenging action of the tocopherol metabolites and Trolox has been clarified.  相似文献

We previously showed that ethanolic extracts of spores of Ganoderma lucidum inhibit tumor cell proliferation and induce apoptosis of HL-60 cells. The active constituents appeared to be long-chain fatty acids, particularly carbon-19 (C-19) fatty acids which have not been reported in spores of Ganoderma lucidum. In the present study, two of these C-19 fatty acids which are key compounds in the activities, were identified as their 2-naphthyl ester derivatives after esterification of a mixture of fatty acids obtained from the spores. The active compounds were determines as nonadecanoic acid and cis-9-nonadecenoic acid. The location of the double bond of cis-9-nonadecenoic acid was demonstrated by GC-MS analysis, based on the fragmentation pattern of the adduct prepared from the fatty acid and dimethyl disulfide.  相似文献

Peripheral nerve sheath tumors (PNSTs) are rare in chickens and their etiology remains to be elucidated. In this study, a naturally occurring PNST in a Japanese native fowl (Gallus gallus domesticus) was pathologically examined and the strain of avian leukosis virus (ALV) isolated from the neoplasm was characterized by molecular biological analysis. The fowl presented with a firm subcutaneous mass in the neck. The mass, connected to the adjacent spinal cord (C9-14), was microscopically composed of highly cellular tissue of spindle cells arranged in interlacing bundles, streams, and palisading patterns with Verocay bodies and less cellular tissue with abundant collagen. Immunohistochemically, neoplastic cells were divided into two types: perineurial cells positive for vimentin, glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1), and claudin1; and Schwann cells positive for vimentin, occasionally positive for S-100 alpha/beta but negative for GLUT1. Based on these findings, a diagnosis of neurofibrosarcoma was made. The complete nucleotide sequence of an ALV strain, CTS_5371, isolated from the neoplasm was determined and phylogenetic analysis indicated that the strain was a novel recombinant virus from avian leukosis/sarcoma viruses previously reported. Additionally, experimental infection revealed that CTS_5371 induced the proliferation of Schwann cells and perineurial cells. These results suggest that this ALV strain has the ability to induce PNSTs in chickens.  相似文献

A new mouse monoclonal antibody (mAb), HUKT was raised against chicken peripheral blood thrombocytes. The mAb HUKT appeared to detect a specific marker on the surface of chicken thrombocytes. Flow cytometry (FCM) analysis revealed that it did not react with cells from the normal thymus, bursa of Fabricius, six kinds of chicken cell lines, chicken erythrocytes or human platelets. In addition, HUKT(+) cells in peripheral blood leukocytes (PBL) were CD45(low), Bu-1a(-) and CD3(-) cells. Immunoblotting analysis showed that the molecule recognized by HUKT is a monomer with an apparent molecular weight of 150 kDa under non-reducing and reducing conditions. Tissue distribution studies revealed that only cells of thrombocyte lineage in bone marrow and embryonic blood cells were stained by HUKT. The HUKT mAb presented here may be useful for both ontogenetic studies of thrombocyte lineage and immunological studies in the chicken.  相似文献
