The bulky and rigid triphenylmethyl group was grafted onto polyurethane (PU) to reduce the molecular attractions between hard segments and to improve the mobility of the PU chain under freezing conditions. The triphenylmethyl-grafted PU exhibited improvement in the cross-link density, solution viscosity, maximum tensile stress, shape recovery at 10 °C, and low temperature flexibility compared with the plain PU. The soft segment melting was not affected by the grafted triphenylmethyl group, whereas the soft segment crystallization disappeared with the increase of the triphenylmethyl group content. The glass transition temperature (Tg) increased with the increase of the triphenylmethyl group content. The rapid increase of the tensile strength and shape recovery at 10 °C resulted from the cross-linking effect, whereas the strain at break and shape retention at -25 °C slightly decreased with the increase of the triphenylmethyl group content. The triphenylmethylgrafted PU displayed an excellent low temperature flexibility even at -50 °C due to the improved mobility of the PU chain compared to ordinary PU.  相似文献

Anguilla japonica, A. marmorata and A. bicolor pacifica are important eel species for aquaculture in Taiwan. In the past, seldom studies focused on the intestinal microbiome of them or the probiotics used in their cultivation. Probiotics are microbes that can improve the health of organisms, and the microbes isolated from the intestines of organisms might be the potential probiotics. Therefore, the aim of this study was to collect the intestinal mucus samples of these three eel species for investigating the autochthonous microbiome using 16S rDNA sequencing. The diversity, abundance of the intestinal microbiome and compositions of all the libraries were identified. Moreover, the composition of intestinal microbiome of eel was suggested that it would be affected by the waters and the characteristics of different eel species. Furthermore, most of the identified predominant genera of the intestinal microbiome of these three eel species, such as Cetobacterium, Clostridium, Shewanella, Acinetobacter and Bacteroides, seemed to have great potential as the probiotics. In the future, more studies shall be conducted to promote the practical application of these candidate probiotics for improving the techniques of eel farming.  相似文献

A novel virus, tilapia lake virus (TiLV), has been identified as a key pathogen responsible for disease outbreak and mass mortality of farmed tilapia. We used a deterministic susceptible‐infectious‐mortality (SIM) model to derive key disease information appraised with published TiLV‐induced cumulative mortality data. The relationship between tilapia mortality and TiLV exposure dosages was described by the Hill model. Furthermore, a disease control model was proposed to determine the status of controlled TiLV infection using a parsimonious control reproduction number (RC)‐control line criterion. Results showed that the key disease determinants of transmission rate and basic reproduction number (R0) could be derived. The median R0 estimate was 2.59 in a cohabitation setting with 2.6 × 105 TCID50 fish?1 TiLV. The present RC‐control model can be employed to determine whether TiLV containment is feasible in an outbreak farm by quantifying the current level of transmission. The SIM model can then be applied to predict what additional control is required to manage RC < 1. We offer valuable tools for aquaculture engineers and public health scientists the mechanistic‐based assessment that allows a more rigorous evaluation of different control strategies to reduce waterborne diseases in aquaculture farming systems.  相似文献

Accurate detection of oestrus is important for artificial insemination. The aim of this study was to identify oestrous‐specific bovine cervical mucus proteins that could be used to determine the optimal time for artificial insemination. Non‐oestrous and controlled internal drug release (CIDR)‐induced oestrous‐stage mucus proteins were purified and subjected to surface‐enhanced laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry, sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and MALDI‐TOF/TOF. Among differentially expressed proteins, lactoferrin (LF) and glutamate receptor‐interacting protein 1 (GRIP1) showed a twofold increase during the CIDR‐induced oestrous stage compared to the levels in non‐oestrous stage in bovine cervical mucus. The RT‐PCR, Western blotting and immunohistochemistry results showed that LF and GRIP1 expression was significantly increased during the oestrous stage in the uterus. This study demonstrated that bovine LF and GRIP1 exist during the oestrous stage, but not during the non‐oestrous stage, suggesting that cervical mucus LF and GRIP1 are useful oestrous detection markers in cattle.  相似文献

There has been a recent push to offer more food assistance programs at farmers markets. Yet, as more programs are developed for farmers markets, little input has been sought from those who are ultimately responsible for their implementation. This ethnographic study explores the experiences of farmers markets that have been early adopters of federal food assistance programs. Participant observation and in-depth interviews were used in six early-adopting markets to understand staff perspectives on the challenges and benefits of administering food assistance programs. The results show that even markets with strong organizational capacity experienced significant burdens while operating food assistance programs. In addition, most worried about the sustainability of these programs due to the level of resources needed for their support. The findings suggest that calls to expand food assistance programs to all farmers markets will continue to be met with challenges as many markets will not have the capacity to operate them. Targeting farmers markets with strong organizational capacity may increase the probability of successful implementation, but building the organizational capacity of farmers markets may be necessary for widespread adoption. The study has implications for other sectors of civil society that are increasingly taking on the work of providing government programs.  相似文献

Flour gluten, pasting, and mixogram characteristics of 12 hard winter wheat cultivars grown in six counties in Kansas were analyzed using the Glutomatic System, a Rapid Visco-Analyser, and MIXSMART computer software, respectively, to investigate their relationships with breadmaking. Gluten contents and hydration amounts had significant correlations with water absorption. In addition, gluten parameters were significantly correlated to kernel hardness. One of the most difficult challenges in mixograph usage is to find the optimum water absorption of a given flour. Flour protein contents (FP) and near-infrared hardness scores or FP and gluten parameters could predict mixograph water absorptions, showing R2 values of 0.842 or 0.814, respectively, by multiple regression analysis. For our set of 72 wheat samples, computer-analyzed mixograph parameters were significantly correlated to conventional parameters. Computer-analyzed mixograph midline peak times and bandwidths at 6 min were highly correlated to conventional mixograph mix times and mixing tolerances, respectively. Flour pasting temperatures complemented FP in predicting loaf volumes. The ratios of FP to pasting temperatures had a significant curvilinear relationship with loaf volumes showing an R2 of 0.725.  相似文献

Effects of debranching time, storage time, and storage temperature on production and structural properties of slowly digestible starch (SDS) were investigated. Waxy sorghum starch was hydrolyzed by isoamylase for various times (0–24 hr), and the variously debranched products were stored at ‐30, 1, and 30°C for 1–6 days. Optimal conditions for SDS production were isoamylase treatment for 8 hr and storage at 1°C for three days, resulting in SDS content of 27.0% in the optimum product. Microscopic observation revealed that rapidly digestible starch (RDS) and SDS were removed from the edges and surfaces of the optimum product by α‐amylase digestion. Digestion conditions that removed RDS and SDS resulted in a residue with a higher transition temperature and enthalpy than raw starch on a differential scanning calorimetric thermogram. Removal of RDS alone did not cause distinct decrements of peak temperature (Tp) and enthalpy (ΔH) compared with stored starch. The optimum SDS product showed an amorphous type of X‐ray diffractogram. Digestive removal of RDS from the optimum product gave a residue with X‐ray peaks similar to B type, which supports that it is partly crystalline. Removal of RDS and SDS gave broader peaks in the X‐ray pattern.  相似文献

This study investigates the North Korean defector phenomenon by approaching YouTube as an internet forum for public discourse, using the novel analytic approaches of social network analysis, text mining and semantic analysis. The research produced three main findings. First, individual YouTube content creators are most influential in the video networks pertaining to the subject of North Korean defectors. Second, on YouTube space, the image of North Korea tends to be negative because of the prevalence of defectors' testimony of their life experiences. Finally, such negative narratives of North Korea on YouTube might have a negative influence by blocking the reunification of Korea. In conclusion, this study suggests the South Korean government and other relevant global actors should conduct thorough and continuous examinations of North Korean defectors' perceptions of South Koreans and vice versa. This study calls for the international community to take further action to formulate proper policy instruments.  相似文献
