Pyrethroids are more stable to practical conditions when included in β-cyclodextrin, particularly because photodecomposition is reduced. Though inclusion sometimes decreases the contact insecticidal activity, the innate activity is regenerated under conditions which release the free pyrethroids. Stabilised dust and wettable powder formulations of natural pyrethrins show promising insecticidal effects to certain pest insects. 相似文献

Many organophosphorus (OP) compounds are of the thiono form and in insects or animals are converted by microsomal mixed function oxidases (MFO) into the oxon forms which inhibit acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and give toxic activity. However, certain S-alkyl phosphorothiolates (RS-P(O) <) such as methamidophos, profenophos and prothiophos oxon are strongly insecticidal, but very poor inhibitors of AChE in vitro. Their oxons are converted further to the S-oxides, which either inhibit AChE or decompose, depending on the alkyl substituents on the sulfur atom. It is also inferred in the case of prothiophos oxon that its S-oxide not only inhibits AChE but also conjugates with glutathione (GSH) by the action of glutathione S-transferase (GST), and the conjugate inhibits AChE. Certain phosphoramidates (R2N-P(O) <) such as isofenphos oxon, schradan and propetamphos oxon are weak AChE inhibitors, but strongly insecticidal. It is well known that isofenphos oxon is converted into the stable N-desalkyl form (H2N-P(O) <) by oxidative dealkylation to inhibit AChE. The authors have studied activation of phosphoramidates using 2,4-dichlorophenyl methyl N-alkylphosphoramidates as model compounds using various approaches including computational chemistry, and these studies indicated that the O-aminophosphate structure (R2N-O-P(O) <) is an activated form. 相似文献

To isolate and identify the cement-hardening inhibitory components of keyaki (Japanese zelkova, Zelkova serrata Makino), methanol extractives containing inhibitory components were fractionated by successive organic solvent extraction
and column chromatography, and the inhibition of these fractions was determined. Spectroscopic analysis of one isolated compound
identified it to be keyakinin with the C-glucoside structure of a flavonol. According to the inhibitory indices, the compound
was found to be the main cement-hardening inhibitory component of keyaki. Extraction of keyaki with hot water or a blend of
keyaki with up to 30% hinoki as a suitable species diminished the cement-hardening inhibition of wood-cement board to a great
extent, suggesting that such treatments are economical countermeasures to this inhibition.

OBJECTIVE: To develop and assess the survival of a microvascular cutaneous free flap based on the ventral branch of the deep circumflex iliac (DCI) artery and vein in cats. STUDY DESIGN: Experimental study. ANIMALS: Phase 1: 6 feline cadavers; Phase 2: 2 adult cats; Phase 3: 10 adult cats. METHODS: Phase 1: Selective angiographic study of the deep circumflex iliac artery was completed in 6 feline cadavers. After injection of the DCI artery with barium, high-detail radiographs were made of skin flaps harvested from the lateral flank and thigh region. The extent of the cutaneous angiosome was mapped with regard to the underlying anatomical landmarks. Phase 2: An island flap based on anatomic boundaries of the DCI angiosome derived from phase 1 of the study was elevated in 2 cats. Flaps were observed for 3 weeks for survival. Phase 3: Free skin flaps based on the DCI vessels were harvested in 10 cats and transferred to the dorsal interscapular region. Flaps were evaluated for 2 weeks for survival. Tissue samples were collected for histopathology, and angiograms of the flaps were completed. RESULTS: Phase 1: Angiograms revealed a large primary cutaneous angiosome of the DCI artery located over the lateral femoral region, which extended from the iliac crest to the level of the patella. Phase 2: All island flaps survived for 3 weeks. Phase 3: Six free flaps survived for 2 weeks, and 4 flaps failed completely. Failure of 1 flap occurred because of avulsion of the venous and arterial anastomosis postoperatively. Another cat had intraoperative hemorrhage, which resulted in anemia and hypovolemia and likely caused the flap to fail. The other 2 flaps that failed had poor perfusion intraoperatively and had the longest ischemia times. CONCLUSIONS: The cutaneous DCI free flap in cats may be clinically useful in reconstruction of large cutaneous wounds. The length of ischemia time for successful cutaneous free flap transfer in the cat may be shorter than in other species. CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Large wounds created by trauma or oncologic ablative surgery in cats could be reconstructed with cutaneous microvascular free flap. Additional studies assessing the critical ischemia time of cutaneous flaps in cats and evaluating the use of this flap clinically are needed. 相似文献

Forty weaned barrows (5.32 +/- 0.3 kg BW) at 17 +/- 2 d of age were used to investigate the effects of feeding glutamine and spray-dried plasma on the growth performance, small intestinal morphology, and immune responses of Escherichia coli K88-challenged pigs. Pigs were allotted to four treatments including: 1) nonchallenged control (NONC); 2) challenged control (CHAC); 3) 7% (as-fed basis) spray-dried plasma (SDP); and 4) 2% (as-fed basis) glutamine (GLN). On d 11 after weaning, all pigs were fitted with an indwelling jugular catheter. On d 12 after weaning, pigs in the CHAC, SDP, and GLN groups were orally challenged with skim milk E. coli K88 culture, whereas pigs in the NONC group were orally inoculated with sterilized skim milk. Rectal temperatures and fecal diarrheic scores were recorded and blood samples collected at 0 (baseline), 6, 12, 24, 36, and 48 h after the challenge for serum hormone and cytokine measurements. At 48 h postchallenge, all pigs were killed for evaluation of small intestinal morphology. There was no effect of feeding SDP or GLN on growth performance during the 11-d prechallenge period (P = 0.13). At 48 h after the challenge, CHAC pigs had decreased ADG (P = 0.08) and G:F (P = 0.07) compared with the NONC pigs; however, SDP and NONC pigs did not differ in G:F, and GLN and NONC pigs did not differ for ADG and G:F. At 6, 36, and 48 h after the challenge, CHAC, SDP, and GLN pigs had increased rectal temperature relative to the baseline (P = 0.09). At 12 and 36 h after the challenge, CHAC pigs had the highest incidence of diarrhea among treatments (P = 0.08). Serum IL-6 and ACTH were not affected by treatment or time after E. coli challenge (P = 0.11). In proximal, midjejunum, and ileum, CHAC pigs had greater villous atrophy and intestinal morphology disruption than NONC pigs (P < 0.01), whereas SDP and GLN pigs had mitigated villous atrophy and intestinal morphology impairment after E. coli challenge. Pigs in the SDP had the lowest GH at 12 h and the greatest GH at 36 h after the challenge among treatments (P = 0.08). Pigs in the NONC had the highest IGF-1 at 12 and 36 h postchallenge (P < 0.04). These results indicate that feeding glutamine has beneficial effects in alleviating growth depression of E. coli K88-challenged pigs, mainly via maintaining intestinal morphology and function, and/or possibly via modulating the somatotrophic axis. 相似文献

After prion infection, an abnormal isoform of prion protein (PrP(Sc)) converts the cellular isoform of prion protein (PrP(C)) into PrP(Sc). PrP(C)-to-PrP(Sc) conversion leads to PrP(Sc) accumulation and PrP(C) deficiency, contributing etiologically to induction of prion diseases. Presently, most of the diagnostic methods for prion diseases are dependent on PrP(Sc) detection. Highly sensitive/accurate specific detection of PrP(Sc) in many different samples is a prerequisite for attempts to develop reliable detection methods. Towards this goal, several methods have recently been developed to facilitate sensitive and precise detection of PrP(Sc), namely, protein misfolding cyclic amplification, conformation-dependent immunoassay, dissociation-enhanced lanthanide fluorescent immunoassay, capillary gel electrophoresis, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy, flow microbead immunoassay, etc. Additionally, functionally relevant prion-susceptible cell culture models that recognize the complexity of the mechanisms of prion infection have also been pursued, not only in relation to diagnosis, but also in relation to prion biology. Prion protein (PrP) gene-deficient neuronal cell lines that can clearly elucidate PrP(C) functions would contribute to understanding of the prion infection mechanism. In this review, we describe the trend in recent development of diagnostic methods and cell culture models for prion diseases and their potential applications in prion biology. 相似文献

Unbleached and oxygen-bleached hardwood kraft pulp (UKP and OKP), respectively, were bleached with a culture filtrate containing manganese peroxidase (MnP) and lignin peroxidase (LiP) fromPhanerochaete chrysosporium Burds. The brightness increases of UKP upon biobleaching with the culture filtrate with and without MnSO4 were the same. The brightness increase of OKP with MnSO4 decreased to about half that seen without MnSO4. Changes in the brightness of UKP and OKP by treatment with the culture filtrate were determined. The brightness increased sharply by about eight points during the first 3h. The 3-h treatment was repeated seven times. The brightness increased linearly with the bleaching of UKP. We found a case of salivary mucocele that originated in the minor salivary gland (palatine gland) of the soft palate in a dog. At first admission, the soft palate swelled remarkably. Computed tomography (CT) revealed cystic radiolucency inside a large quantity of liquid in the soft palate, and most of the airway was occupied. Marsupialization was performed, but since a recurrence was observed one month later, the salivary mucocele was removed. There has been no report of salivary mucocele arising from the minor salivary gland of the soft palate in dogs. To our knowledge, this case is the first. Complete removal, including minor salivary glands surrounding the lesion, is necessary for treatment of salivary mucocele in dogs. 相似文献

Yacon is a medicinal plant used as a traditional medicine by the natives in South America. In Japan, it becomes popular as a health food. Sesquiterpene Lactones (SLs) from yacon leaves were investigated and the active SLs such as enhydrin, uvedalin and sonchifolin, bearing alpha-methylene-gamma-lactone and epoxides as the active functional groups, were identified by 1H-6000 MHz-NMR. Chemopreventive and cytotoxic activities were determined using different primary screening methods. In this study, all tested SLs strongly inhibited TPA-induced deformed of Raji cells. The IC50 values of yacon SLs from anti-deforming assay were 0.04-0.4 microM. Interestingly, yacon SLs showed more potential of chemo preventive activity than both curcumin and parthenolide. However, the cytotoxicity on Raji cells was observed at high concentration of yacon SLs. The degree of anti-deformation was ranked in order: enhydrin >uvedalin >sonchifolin >parthenolide >curcumin. As according to structure-activity relationship, the high activities of enhydrin, uvedalin and sonchifolin may be due to the 2-methyl-2-butenoate and its epoxide moiety. 相似文献
