Polymorphism of heavy-chain genes in immunoglobulins of wild mice   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
The serums of 123 wild mice from six different geographic locations in the United States contain five of the six known heavy-chain antigenic determinants that have been identified in immunoglobulin of inbred laboratory strains of mice. On the basis of the distribution of determinants in inbred strains,44 of the mice were judged to be heterozygotes of various combinations and two had combinations of determinants that were unusual and could only have occurred in laboratory inbred mice by recombination.  相似文献

Three types of tumors termed plasmacytomas (ABPC's), lymphosarcomas (ABLS's), and plasmacytoid lymphosarcomas (ABPL's) arise in BALB/c mice treated with pristane and Abelson murine leukemia virus (A-MuLV). While most ABPC's and BLS's contain integrated A-MuLV proviral genome and synthesize the v-abl RNA, most ABPL's do not. The ABPL tumors were examined for the expression of other oncogenes that may be associated with their transformed state, in the absence of transforming virus. These tumors expressed abundant c-myb RNA of unusually large size and showed DNA rearrangements of the c-myb locus.  相似文献

Monochromatic images of Mercury at the sodium D(2) emission line showed excess sodium emission in localized regions at high northern and southern latitudes and day-to-day global variations in the distribution of sodium emission. These phenomena support the suggestion that magnetospheric effects could be the cause. Sputtering of surface minerals could produce sodium vapor in polar regions during magnetic substorms, when magnetospheric ions directly impact the surface. Another important process may be the transport of sodium ions along magnetic field lines toward polar regions, where they impact directly on the surface of Mercury and are neutralized to regenerate neutral sodium atoms. Day-to-day variations in planetary sodium distributions could result from changing solar activity, which can change the magnetosphere in time scales of a few hours. Observations of the sodium exosphere may provide a tool for remote monitoring of the magnetosphere of Mercury.  相似文献

Immunoglobulin A (gammaA) myeloma proteins secreted by plasma-cell tumors of mice are of two types, a common four-chain molecule and a rare two-chain (3.9S) molecule. The close similarity between two-chain gammaA molecules and four-chain gammaA molecules and their polymers is demonstrated in tryptic peptide maps of isolated polypeptide chains and by precipitin reactions with rabbit antiserums to gammaA immzunoglobulins. However, a difference between these two types is distinguishable with homologous antiserums. Homologous antiserums to two-chain gammaA immunoglobulins are specific and do not cross-react with four-chain gammaA immutnoglobulins.  相似文献

Alpha-aminoisobutyric acid transport in hepatoma cells in culture was increased by insulin but not by hydrocortisone. Both of these agents induce tyrosine aminotransferase activity in this system. The apparent increase in alpha-aminoisobutyric acid transport and tyrosine aminotransferase activity produced by glucagon is probably caused by insulin contamination. Insulin did not increase transport in this system until after tyrosine aminotransferase activity had reached maximum levels. The mechanisms underlying increased alpha-aminoisobutyric acid transport appear to differ from those for tyrosine aminotransferase induction with hydrocortisone despite their close association in previous whole animal experiments.  相似文献
