A 7-year-old female boxer dog died suddenly without any clinical signs. It was suspected
that the dog had arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) due to ventricular
premature complexes and ventricular tachycardia at 3 years of age. The final diagnosis of
ARVC was confirmed by histological characteristics, such as loss of cardiocytes and
fibrofatty replacement, occurring in the right and left ventricular walls. In the
cardiocytes, non-lipid vacuoles were observed. Cardiac fibrosis and intimal thickening of
the small arteries occurred without fatty replacement in the inner muscle layer including
the papillary muscles of the left ventricular wall. This paper describes the
pathomorphological details of an ARVC case with coincidental cardiac fibrosis in the inner
muscle layer of the left ventricular wall. 相似文献

以西藏色季拉山长松萝为材料,乙酸乙酯为溶剂回流提取制备松萝酸,并采用滤纸片法对提取物松萝酸进行了抑菌活性和最小抑制浓度测定,同时以苯甲酸为对照,研究了松萝酸的防腐作用。结果表明,松萝酸对细菌、霉菌和酵母菌的生长均有明显的抑制作用;将用松萝酸处理的鲜猪肉、豆腐和牛奶放入37℃的恒温培养箱中1周后,其菌数均不超过5×108/g(mL),而对照不低于15×10-8/g(mL)。细菌菌落数的明显减少表明,松萝酸具有一定的防腐效果;但与相同浓度的苯甲酸相比,松萝酸的抑菌防腐效果稍差。 相似文献

Abstract This study was conducted to investigate the effect of N fertilization on the soil CH4 flux during the growing season of onion in a structured clay soil with stagnant water at depths of 70–80 cm and with a peat-mixed subsoil. The following 4 treatments were analyzed over a period of two years: T1) fertilized, onion growing, T2) fertilized, bare field, T3) unfertilized, onion growing, and T4) unfertilized, bare field. In the fertilized T1 and T2 treatments, fertilizers (mixture of 3 : 1 NH4NO3 : (NH4)2SO4) at rates of 322 kg N ha?1 in 1999 and 242 kg N ha?1 in 2000 were applied as basal fertilizers before onion was transplanted. CH4 fluxes among the treatments ranged from ?0.06 to 0.12 mg CH4-C m?2 h?1 in 1999, and from ?0.03 to 0.01 mg CH4-C m?2 h?1 in 2000, which were high after heavy rain in summer. Cumulative CH4 flux from May to November in the fertilized T1 and T2 treatments was 59 mg CH4-C m?2 for both treatments in 1999, and 3.2 and ?0.9 mg CH4-C m?2 in 2000, respectively. On the other hand, in the unfertilized T3 and T4 treatments, the cumulative CH4 flux was 0.2 and ?9.2 mg CH4-C m?2 in 1999, and ?26 and ?20 mg CH4-C m?2 in 2000, respectively. Although the cumulative CH4 flux in each treatment was higher in 1999 than in 2000, the fertilized treatments in both years showed a significantly higher cumulative CH4 flux than the unfertilized treatments. This might be ascribed to the higher level of nitrification in the fertilized treatments, because a high nitrate concentration was observed in the fertilized treatments in the onion growing season. The results also revealed that onion growing did not exert a significant influence on the CH4 flux. The precipitation from May to November was 642 mm in 1999 and 1,008 mm in 2000, and the CH4 emission increased when the precipitation was low. In addition, the CH4 concentration in the soil profile increased with the increase of the depth in summer as the soil was dry. These findings indicated that CH4 diffusion from the soil to the atmosphere was inhibited by rainwater. 相似文献

"Fishy aftertaste" is sometimes perceived in wine consumed with seafood. Iron in wine has been reported to be a key compound that produces fishy aftertaste. However, cost-effective methods to remove iron from wine have not been developed. Here, we describe a cost-effective and safe iron adsorbent consisting of alcohol-treated yeast (ATY) cells based on the observation that nonviable cells adsorbed iron after completion of fermentation. Treatment of cells with more than 40% (v/v) ethanol killed them without compromising their ability to adsorb iron. Drying the ATY cells did not reduce iron adsorption. Use of ATY cells together with phytic acid had a synergistic effect on iron removal. We term this means of removing iron the "ATY-PA" method. Sensory analysis indicated that fishy aftertaste in wine-seafood pairings was not perceived if the wine had been pretreated with both ATY cells and phytic acid. 相似文献

The wild relatives of rice (Oryza sativa L.) are useful sources of alleles that have evolved to adapt in diverse environments around the world. Oryza rufipogon, the known progenitor of the cultivated rice, harbors genes that have been lost in cultivated varieties through domestication or evolution. This makes O. rufipogon an ideal source of value-added traits that can be utilized to improve the existing rice cultivars. To explore the potential of the rice progenitor as a genetic resource for improving O. sativa, 33 chromosome segment substitution lines (CSSLs) of O. rufipogon (W0106) in the background of the elite japonica cultivar Koshihikari were developed and evaluated for several agronomic traits. Over 90% of the entire genome was introgressed from the donor parent into the CSSLs. A total of 99 putative QTLs were detected, of which 15 were identified as major effective QTLs that have significantly large effects on the traits examined. Among the 15 major effective QTLs, a QTL on chromosome 10 showed a remarkable positive effect on the number of grains per panicle. Comparison of the putative QTLs identified in this study and previous studies indicated a wide genetic diversity between O. rufipogon accessions. 相似文献

To produce viable eggs from single primary follicles in vitro, primary follicles containing oocytes (average 39.0 ± 0.2 µm in diameter) were isolated from the ovaries of 1-week-old mice, and cultured in combination with culture membranes for the first 8 days up to the secondary follicle stage, followed by the next 12 days to the later stages. After culture with a combination of first and second culture membranes using high and low adhesion characteristics, the average oocyte diameters of the surviving follicles increased by almost two-fold in all four groups. Further, the oocyte maturation rate was the highest (74.1%) in the culture group with low adhesion with collagenase and high adhesion. In this culture group, when the O2 concentration was changed from 20% in the first culture to 5% in the second culture, the cleavage rate increased to 47.5%, which was comparable to the level of the in vivo control (34.6%). Finally, 39 embryos at the 2- to 8-cell stages were transferred into the oviducts of three pseudopregnant females, and eight live pups (20.5%) were obtained. Of the eight pups, six survived for at least six months and were fertile. The present study shows successive in vitro cultures of single isolated primary follicles for the production of viable eggs. We believe that this culture system, with a combination of culture membranes under controlled O2 conditions, is applicable to other mammalian species, including humans. 相似文献

methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) can be a source of MRSA
infection in animals. To identify risk factors of MRSA carriage among veterinary staff,
MRSA carriage and epidemiological information (sex, career, contact with MRSA-identified
animal patients and others) were analyzed from 96 veterinarians and 70 veterinary
technicians working at 71 private veterinary clinics in Japan. Univariate analysis
determined sex (percentage of MRSA carriage, male (29.2%) vs. female (10%);
P=0.002) and career (veterinarians (22.9%) vs. veterinary technicians
(10%); P=0.030) as risk factors. Multivariable analysis revealed that sex
was independently associated with MRSA carriage (adjusted odds ratio, 3.717; 95%
confidence interval, 1.555–8.889; P=0.003). Therefore, male veterinary
staff had a higher risk of MRSA carriage than female staff. 相似文献

We investigated for dynamics of Campylobacter clones on 2 different managerial broiler farms. Campylobacter isolates were differentiated by resistance typing and molecular typing methods. On farm I, the same C. jejuni clones resistant to fluoroquinolone and oxytetracycline were isolated after one and half years again and another susceptible clone was invaded. The susceptible clone was isolated again after half year. Broiler flocks on the farm may be repeatedly infected with a few C. jejuni clones. On farm II, new clones including antimicrobial resistant one, were often invaded. The change of predominant C. jejuni clone in each flock on both the farms was observed, in the absence of antimicrobial selective pressure. 相似文献

Coffee contains antioxidants like chlorogenic acid and its isomers. In this report, effects of coffee on the nitrite-induced N2O3 formation were studied using whole saliva and bacterial fraction prepared from the saliva. The formation of N2O3 was measured by fluorescence increase due to the transformation of 4,5-diaminofluorescein to triazolfluorescein. Coffee inhibited the nitrite-induced fluorescence increase, and 50% inhibition was observed at several microg of coffee/mL in bacterial fraction of saliva as well as whole saliva. During the inhibition of the fluorescence increase, concentration of chlorogenic acid and its isomers decreased. It is discussed that the reduction of NO2 by chlorogenic acid and its isomers contributed to the coffee-dependent inhibition of the fluorescence increase as N2O3 is formed from NO and NO2. When coffee was added to whole saliva, chlorogenic acid and its isomers bound to cells in the saliva. The rate of the fluorescence increase in bacterial fraction, which was prepared at defined periods after the ingestion of coffee, was increased to the rate before the ingestion of coffee with a half-time of about 1 h. This result suggests that chlorogenic acid and its isomers remained in the oral cavity for a few hours after ingestion of coffee. The significance of coffee drinking and rinsing of the mouth with coffee for the health of the oral cavity is proposed. 相似文献

Soybean [Glycine max (L) Merrill] is one of the most important leguminous crops and ranks fourth after to rice, wheat and maize in terms of world crop production. Soybean contains abundant protein and oil, which makes it a major source of nutritious food, livestock feed and industrial products. In Japan, soybean is also an important source of traditional staples such as tofu, natto, miso and soy sauce. The soybean genome was determined in 2010. With its enormous size, physical mapping and genome sequencing are the most effective approaches towards understanding the structure and function of the soybean genome. We constructed bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) libraries from the Japanese soybean cultivar, Enrei. The end-sequences of approximately 100,000 BAC clones were analyzed and used for construction of a BAC-based physical map of the genome. BLAST analysis between Enrei BAC-end sequences and the Williams82 genome was carried out to increase the saturation of the map. This physical map will be used to characterize the genome structure of Japanese soybean cultivars, to develop methods for the isolation of agronomically important genes and to facilitate comparative soybean genome research. The current status of physical mapping of the soybean genome and construction of database are presented. 相似文献
