Antiviral properties of betulin, betulinic and betulonic acids were investigated in cell cultures infected with herpes simplex type I, influenza FPV/Rostock and ECHO 6 viruses. All studied triterpenes were active against herpes simplex virus. Betulin and especially betulinic acid also suppressed ECHO 6 virus reproduction.  相似文献

Rapid detection and identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli as pure and mixed cultures in bottled drinking water using fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and multivariate analysis

Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and multivariate analysis were used to identify Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 inoculated into bottled drinking water. Three inoculation treatments were examined: (i) E. coli ATCC 25922 (N = 3), (ii) P. aeruginosa (N = 3), and (iii) a 1:1 (v:v) mixed culture of both P. aeruginosa and E. coli ATCC 25922 (N = 3). The control treatment was noninoculated drinking water (N = 3). Second derivative transformation and loadings plots over the range of 1800-900 cm(-1) indicate variations in the following bacterial constituents: amide I band ca. 1650 cm(-1), amide II band ca. 1540 cm(-1), phosphodiester backbone of nucleic acids ca. 1242 and 1080 cm(-1), and polysaccharide compounds ca. 1050-950 cm(-1). Cells with the different treatments were clearly segregated from a mean centered principal component analysis. By using soft independent modeling of class analogy analysis, spectra from a given treatment could be correctly classified 83-88% of the time. These results suggest that FT-IR spectroscopy can determine whether a pure culture is present, in addition to confirming that this method can discriminate between closely related bacteria based on differences in biochemical and phenotypic characteristics that can be detected in this spectral region.  相似文献   

Probing the chiroptical response of a single molecule

Chirally sensitive measurement techniques have generally been restricted to bulk samples. Here, we report the observation of fluorescence-detected circular dichroism (FDCD) from single (bridgedtriarylamine) helicene molecules by using an excitation wavelength (457 nanometers) in the vicinity of an electronic transition that shows circular dichroism in bulk samples. The distributions of dissymmetry (g) parameters by analysis of signals from pure M- and P-type diastereomers are almost perfect mirror images of one another, each spanning a range of both positive and negative values. In addition, we observe a well-defined structure in the histogram of dissymmetry parameters suggestive of specific molecular orientations at the polymer interface. These single-molecule results highlight strong intrinsic circular dichroism responses that can be obscured by cancellation effects in ensemble measurements of a randomly oriented bulk sample.  相似文献

For the phenomenon of resonance effects in buildings acoustic, the resonance interaction at the vocalitical vibrant caused by the inharmonic vibration is discussed. Based on the perturbation theory, the influences of the resonance interaction between the two and three vibronic levels on the level energy, wavefunction, and the spectral line intensity are investigated in detail respectively. The analytical expressions of the vibronic level energy, wavefunction, and spectral line intensity with the consideration of the resonance interaction are also obtained under the third order inharmonic approximation.  相似文献
