The Plant Protection Service of Lombardy Region (Italy) has been working to control Anoplophora chinensis for many years. A specific plan was developed by the Plant Protection Service in 2011 to implement stepped‐up surveillance for early detection of this pest in the most important nursery area in the region. The Canneto sull'Oglio district area hosts the highest concentration of commercial nurseries in Lombardy. The nurseries specialize in the cultivation of full‐size deciduous ornamental trees. The reinforced surveillance plan includes the following steps: planning, inspection of the urban green spaces, surveillance in rural areas and surveillance of identified sources of risk. A new procedure was defined for the enhanced territorial surveillance, as there were no established guidelines to follow. Two buffer zones were delineated, with a 2 km radius and a 500 m radius around all the areas dedicated to nursery cultivation, and a grid of 500 × 500 m was superimposed on it. Between one and four inspection points were defined for each cell, depending on the risk to plant health, and more than 3450 inspection points were identified, corresponding to 11 233 potential host plants that were to be inspected. In addition, the fields of 16 nurseries classified as high risk sources were inspected as well as the potential hosts in the buffer zone of 100 m radius around them. The annual cost of the surveillance is 30 000 EUR, which corresponds to about 0.025% of the annual production value of the nurseries in this district.  相似文献

The protective anti-B. abortus monoclonal antibody ISS/32 (Ab1) was used as an immunogen to induce anti-idiotypic antibodies (Ab2) in rabbits. The purpose was to produce and characterize anti-idiotypic antibodies that share conformational similarity with the corresponding bacterial epitope recognized by Ab1. The rabbit anti-IdAb so induced was isolated and affinity-purified. Its specificity for the paratope of Ab1 was determined by evaluating its ability to compete withB. abortus for binding to Ab1 in a competitive ELISA assay. The anti-idiotypic ISS/32 antibodies were able to compete withB. abortus for binding to Ab1 in a dose-dependent manner. Two monoclonal antibodies (mAb) within cluster M4 of the myeloid section of the Second International Swine CD Workshop, C4 (No. 144) and PM18-7 (No. 192), showed reactivity with thymocytes and among cells of myelomonocytic origin with mature macrophages but not with monocytes and granulocytes. Both mAb recognize a protein showing two bands of 205 kDa and 130 kDa under both reducing and non-reducing conditions. Although epitope mapping with these mAb could not be performed, this cluster received the SWC9 designation.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate whether a diet based on palm oil has any influence on the immune response and on the number of eggs per gram of faeces (EPG) of gastrointestinal nematodes (GIN) in dairy sheep. To address this issue, 30 ewes in early lactation were confined and divided into three groups (n = 10) receiving a daily isoproteic and isoenergetic diet. Palm oil was added to the feed at different concentrations: 0% (control; group A), 4% (group B) and 6% (group C). The animals were treated with levamisole 10 days before the beginning of the experiment. Faecal samples were collected and analysed for EPG on day zero of the experiment. On days 60 and 120, individual faecal and blood samples were collected, and the FAMACHA© score for assessing clinical anaemia was carried out. The groups receiving palm oil showed a significant reduction in EPG in relation to the control group (A) on day 120. Serum immunoglobulin levels (IgG, IgM and IgE) and proinflammatory cytokine levels (TNF‐α, IL‐1 and IL‐6) were significantly increased on days 60 and 120 (p < 0.05) in groups B and C. Therefore, these results suggest that palm oil stimulates the immune response in sheep, thus reducing EPG of GIN. The hypothesis that palm oil has direct anthelmintic activity should be tested in future studies.  相似文献

The synthesis of 6,7-dimethoxy-4-hydroxyisochroman-3-one 10 from 2,3-dimethoxytoluene (11) via glyoxylate 12 is reported. Compound 10 strongly inhibited vegetative growth of tobacco plants, whereas developmental patterns (protein levels, protein profile, pigments, and chlorophylls) were not affected. Morphological changes were observed in the leaves of the treated plants.  相似文献

Qualitative/quantitative phytochemical variations were observed in dried flowering tops of cultivated Hypericum perforatum L. cv. Zorzi infected by phytoplasmas of the "ash yellows" class, identified by direct and nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR); this is the first report of ribosomial group 16SrVII phytoplasmas in St. John's Wort. Methanolic extracts of healthy and infected plants were separated by reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography to quantify naphthodianthrones and flavonoids, while essential oils were analyzed by means of gas chromatography (GC)-GC/MS. The affected plants exhibited decreased amounts of rutin (1.96 +/- 0.23 vs 4.96 +/- 0.02 mg/g), hyperoside (2.38 +/- 0.21 vs 3.04 +/- 0.05 mg/g), isoquercitrin (1.47 +/- 0.04 vs 3.50 +/- 0.08 mg/g), amentoflavone (0.12 +/- 0.01 vs 0.39 +/- 0.02 mg/g), and pseudohypericin (1.41 +/- 0.23 vs 2.29 +/- 0.07 mg/g), whereas the chlorogenic acid content was doubled (1.56 +/- 0.11 vs 0.77 +/- 0.02 mg/g). Hypericin, quercitrin, and quercetin contents were not severely affected. The essential oil yield was drastically reduced in infected material (0.11 vs 0.75% in healthy material) and revealed an increased abundance of sesquiterpenes (beta-caryophyllene, delta-elemene, and germacrene D, in particular) and a matching decrease in monoterpene hydrocarbons and aliphatics. The consequences that the phytopathological condition of cultivated H. perforatum plants has on the commercial quality, market value, and therapeutic efficacy are outlined.  相似文献

Strong magnetic fluctuations can provide a coupling mechanism for electrons that leads to unconventional superconductivity. Magnetic order and superconductivity have been found to coexist in a number of magnetically mediated superconductors, but these order parameters generally compete. We report that close to the upper critical field, CeCoIn5 adopts a multicomponent ground state that simultaneously carries cooperating magnetic and superconducting orders. Suppressing superconductivity in a first-order transition at the upper critical field leads to the simultaneous collapse of the magnetic order, showing that superconductivity is necessary for the magnetic order. A symmetry analysis of the coupling between the magnetic order and the superconducting gap function suggests a form of superconductivity that is associated with a nonvanishing momentum.  相似文献

Erythropoietin (EPO) is both hematopoietic and tissue protective, putatively through interaction with different receptors. We generated receptor subtype-selective ligands allowing the separation of EPO's bioactivities at the cellular level and in animals. Carbamylated EPO (CEPO) or certain EPO mutants did not bind to the classical EPO receptor (EPOR) and did not show any hematopoietic activity in human cell signaling assays or upon chronic dosing in different animal species. Nevertheless, CEPO and various nonhematopoietic mutants were cytoprotective in vitro and conferred neuroprotection against stroke, spinal cord compression, diabetic neuropathy, and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis at a potency and efficacy comparable to EPO.  相似文献
