Pharmacokinetics, urinary excretion and plasma protein binding of danofloxacin was investigated in buffalo calves following
intravenous administration at the dose rate of 1.25 mg/kg to select the optimal dosage regimen of danofloxacin. Drug concentrations
in plasma and urine were measured by microbiological assaying. In vitro plasma protein binding was determined employing the equilibrium dialysis technique. The distribution and elimination of danofloxacin
were rapid, as indicated by values (mean ±SD) of distribution half-life (t1/2α = 0.16 ± 0.07 h) and elimination half-life (t1/2β = 4.24 ± 1.78 h), respectively. Volume of distribution at steady state (Vss) = 3.98 ± 1.69 L/kg indicated large distribution
of drug. The area under plasma drug concentration versus time curve (AUC) was 1.79 ± 0.28 μg/mlxh and MRT was 8.64 ± 0.61 h.
Urinary excretion of danofloxacin was 23% within 48 h of its administration. Mean plasma protein binding was 36% at concentrations
ranging from 0.0125 μg/ml to 1 μg/ml. On the basis of pharmacokinetic parameters obtained, it is concluded that the revision
of danofloxacin dosage regimen in buffalo calves is needed because the current dosage schedule (1.25 mg/kg) is likely to promote

Impact of integrated nutrient and crop residue management on crop productivity, phosphorus (P) uptake and apparent P balances was investigated in a 5-year field experiment on two calcareous soils, i.e., Awagat (coarse loamy) and Shahpur (fine silty) in cotton-wheat sequence. Minimum mean P uptake (kg ha?1) by cotton with Farmers’ Fertilizer Use (FFU) treatment was 8.89 in Awagat and 11.54 in Shahpur soil. Corresponding maximum mean P uptake was 15.30 and 17.01 kg ha?1 with Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), respectively. Nutrient treatments effect on P uptake by wheat was similar to cotton. Phosphorus uptake was further enhanced by crop residue recycling. Phosphorus uptake trend by cotton was negative under FFU without residue recycling and was positive with residue recycling. While P uptake trends were positive under all other treatments. INM yielded positive apparent P balances (kg ha?1) of 56–306 in Awagat and 24–288 in Shahpur soil. 相似文献

A five-year cotton–wheat rotation field experiment was conducted on two alkaline-calcareous soils, i.e., Awagat (coarse loamy) and Shahpur (fine silty), to investigate the impact of integrated nutrient and crop residue management on soil and crop productivity. Apparent nitrogen (N) balances were developed. Minimum five-year mean yield (Mg ha?1), obtained with Farmers’ Fertilizer Use (FFU) treatment was: cotton – Awagat, 2.19; Shahpur, 2.45; wheat – Awagat, 3.03; Shahpur, 3.94. With Balance Nutrient Management (BNM), yields increased (P ≤ 0.05) for cotton, 24% in Awagat and 18% in Shahpur soil; and wheat, 37% in Awagat and 24% in Shahpur soil. Maximum crop yields were obtained with Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), i.e., 3–5% higher than with BNM. Crop residue recycling increased the yields further, cotton by 2?7% and wheat by 2–10%. All nutrient management treatments, except for FFU without crop residue recycling, resulted in positive apparent N balances. INM improved SOM and NO3-N, contents. 相似文献

Abstract Responses to aluminum phosphate (Al-P) and superphosphate (Sup-P) application in terms of dry matter production by pigeon pea and soybean were compared under field conditions. The effect of aluminum on growth and symbiotic dinitrogen fixation was examined under hydroponic conditions. In a field experiment, Al-P application significantly increased whole plant dry weight and P amount in pigeon pea, whereas in soybean, Al-P application had no significant effect on the two parameters. The results indicate that P absorption ability from Al-P is higher in pigeon pea compared to soybean. With Al-P application, leaf and whole plant Al concentration in pigeon pea significantly increased unlike in soybean. Under hydroponic conditions, 50 nig L?1 Al application increased the plant weight of pigeon pea while it decreased that of soybean. This treatment decreased the total nodule activity of soybean more appreciably than that of pigeon pea. Under the Al treatment conditions, whole plant P amount increased in pigeon pea, whereas it decreased in soybean, and the amount of Al increased more appreciably in pigeon pea, most of which was deposited in roots. These results suggest that compared to soybean, pigeon pea displays a higher ability to absorb P from P compounds with a low solubility i.e. Al-P and that it is more tolerant to Al toxicity. 相似文献

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) line, Saline Agriculture Research Center line 1 (SARC), was selected in a salinity tolerance improvement program at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. In this study we compared SARC with Pothowar which is a common wheat cultivar grown in the same region, in order to study the mechanism of salinity tolerance in the SARC line. Two wheat lines were planted in pots and were subjected to salt stress by daily application of a 200 mM NaCI solution for 30 d during the vegetative growth stage. Dry weight of plant parts, leaf area, leaf water status, and solute concentrations in the cell sap of the leaf tissues were determined at 13 and 30 d after initiation of the stress treatment. Decrease in the plant dry weight and leaf area due to salt stress was more pronounced in Pothowar than in SARC, indicating that SARC was more tolerant to salinity. SARC maintained a higher turgor at low leaf water potentials and showed a higher capacity of osmotic adjustment compared to Pothowar. Major osmotic a that increased by salinity in order to maintain a lower osmotic potential in the two lines were Na+, Cl-, K+, and glycinebetaine. Increase in the concentrations of Na+, Cl-, and glycinebetaine was much higher in SARC than in Pothower. The efficacy of a recombinant leptospiral lipoprotein LipL41 as an antigen for conducting enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for diagnosis of bovine leptospirosis was evaluated. Using known positive and known negative cattle sera the recombinant antigen was found to be highly reactive in the concentration of 100 ng/well. Using a total of 321 field cattle sera the sensitivity of ELISA as compared to microscopic agglutination test (MAT) was calculated to be 100% whereas the specificity was 85.3%. The seropositivity of leptospirosis among bovine population was found to be 21.18% having the predominance of serovars Sejroe and Pomona. It was concluded that rLipL41 protein could be a putative diagnostic candidate for serodiagnosis of bovine leptospirosis. 相似文献

The effect of endotoxin-induced fever on the pharmacokinetics and dosage regimen of cefuroxime was investigated in buffalo calves following a single intravenous dose of 10 mg/kg body weight. The fever was induced by intravenous administration of E. coli endotoxin at a dose of 1 g/kg body weight. The distribution and elimination half-lives were 0.100 h and 1.82 h, respectively, in healthy and 0.109 h and 2.28 h, respectively, in febrile buffalo calves. About 91% of the administered dose was excreted in the urine within 24 h. There was no effect of fever on the plasma protein binding of cefuroxime. Half diallel analysis of eight parents was carried out to identify the high heterotic crosses and their relationship in terms of general and specific combining ability (GCA &; SCA) in Brassica juncea L. Czern and Coss at IARI, New Delhi, during 2007–2008 and 2008–2009. The relative heterosis and heterobeltiosis were observed to be the highest with respect to seed yield per 100 siliquae and days from sowing to 50% flowering in case of cross IC-199715 × IC-199714, EC-289602 × Prakash in the number of primary branches per plant and harvest index, Agra Local × Pusa Bahar in the length of main axis, Poorbijaya × Agra Local in the number of siliquae on main axis and EC-289602 × Pusa Bahar in the biologic yield per plant and seed yield per plant. Different cross combinations exhibited the maximum value of better and mid-parent heterosis for the remaining traits, viz., days to maturity, number of secondary branches per plant, plant height and 1000-seed weight. GCA and SCA variances were significant in all characters. The variance of GCA (σ2g) was observed to be higher from sowing to 50% flowering and maturity in plant height and 1000-seed weight, whereas the variance of SCA (σ2s) was higher in seed yield and other remaining parameters. 相似文献
