Gastric pleomorphic leiomyosarcoma in a Shetland sheepdog   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A solitary mass of 6 x 6 x 5 cm was found in the smooth muscle layer of the pyloric part in the stomach of a Shetland sheepdog. The excised mass was solid, gray-white in color, and had central necrosis with hemorrhages. Microscopically, the neoplasm was composed of irregular bundles of spindle-shaped tumor cells and round tumor cells. A few multinucleated cells and gangliocyte-like cells were observed. The nuclei exhibited a high degree of atypia and many cells contained mitotic figures. Immunohistochemically, tumor cells were positive for vimentin and desmin, but negative for c-kit antibody. Ultrastructurally, tumor cells contained cytoplasmic myofilaments and pinocytotic vesicles. Based on these pathological findings, the tumor was diagnosed as gastric pleomorphic leiomyosarcoma.  相似文献

The Japanese eight-barbel loach Lefua echigonia, which is a freshwater fish native to Japan, is distributed from the Tohoku to Kinki districts and is divided into six regional populations according to mtDNA analysis. In this study, we investigated L. echigonia collected from several locations in Yamagata Prefecture and neighboring prefectures using mtDNA control region sequences and confirmed the spatial distribution pattern among the new regional population (Yamagata population). The new population was limited to the Mogami river system in the inland area of Yamagata Prefecture and is distinguished from other regional populations by high sequence divergences.  相似文献

Our previous studies demonstrate the therapeutic efficacy against bovine diseases of an anti-bovine programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) chimeric antibody. In humans, PD-1 and PD-L1 antibodies are more effective when combined with an antibody targeting cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4) and these combination therapies are therefore clinically used. Here we generated an anti-bovine CTLA-4 chimeric antibody (chAb) to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of the PD-L1 antibody. We further analyzed the effects of dual blockade of CTLA-4 and PD-1 pathways on T-cell responses. The established anti-bovine CTLA-4 chAb showed comparable blocking activity on the binding of bovine CTLA-4 to CD80 and CD86 as the anti-bovine CTLA-4 mouse monoclonal antibody. Anti-bovine CTLA-4 chAb also significantly increased IL-2 production from bovine peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Further, the combination of anti-CTLA-4 chAb with anti-PD-L1 chAb significantly upregulated IL-2 production by PBMCs. These results suggest that the combination of antibodies have higher potential to enhance immune responses against pathogens compared with single administration.  相似文献

Antifungal activity of the novel compound acibenzolar-S-methyl (CGA245704: benzo[1,2,3]thiadiazole-7-carbothioic acid S-methyl ester) was examined in vitro. No remarkable activity was observed on mycelial growth and conidial germination of almost all fungi tested. Only melon isolates of Didymella bryoniae were sensitive to this compound. On potted plants, acibenzolar-S-methyl showed control efficacy on anthracnose and scab of cucumber and rust of Japanese pear but not on Fusarium wilt of cucumber. In field trials, the occurrence of both rust and scab on Japanese pear was suppressed with this compound. Based on these experiments, it was suggested that acibenzolar-S-methyl induced resistance to some but not all diseases on cucumber and Japanese pear. Induction of disease resistance in cucumber was rapidly triggered after treatment with acibenzolar-S-methyl.  相似文献

Shear behaviour in triaxial compression tests was numerically examined by 3D fluid-coupled DEM in a fundamental study on the mechanisms of landslide initiation. Changes in pore-water pressure because of undrained compression were calculated by introducing a measurement sphere surrounding a ball which represented the soil particles. The pore-water pressure was assigned to the measurement sphere as the product of the changes in volumetric strain and modulus of compressibility of water, and resulting flow due to the pressure differences among neighbouring measurement spheres was given on the basis of Darcy’s law. Specimens for the numerical triaxial compression tests were prepared with wide ranges of initial void ratio by use of samples with three different grain-size distributions. In the loose specimens, positive pore-water pressure build-up and subsequent liquefaction were numerically reproduced. In contrast, in the dense specimens, negative pore-water pressure was observed, showing upgrade of soil structure. For the medium specimens, phase transformation, which is a typical characteristic of granular soils, was successfully reproduced. Although steady-state lines were found for each sample on a p\textss - e0 p_{\text{ss}}^{\prime } - e_{0} diagram, there was a gap at a specific initial void ratio. Although the angles of internal friction were inversely proportional to the initial void ratio in both the undrained and drained tests in the medium to dense specimens, the observed angles of internal friction were smaller than the particle-to-particle friction angle. This result may be attributable to the fact that the balls could not form the complicated soil structures created in reality by particles with complex shapes.  相似文献

We evaluated the effect of platelet-rich plasma-incorporated gelatin hydrogel microsphere (PRP/GM) together with subchondral drilling for cartilage regeneration in horses. Cartilage defects (diameter, 4.5 mm; depth, 3.0 mm) were created in both third carpal bones of six Thoroughbred horses. A subchondral hole was drilled at the center of this cartilage defect (diameter, 2.0 mm; depth, 35 mm) in one randomly selected carpal joint (test joint), whereas no subchondral hole was made in the contralateral joint (control joint). Thereafter, the test joint was injected with PRP/GM and the control joint with saline-infused GM. Additional injections of PRP/GM were given 14 and 28 days after surgery. After 16 weeks, histologic analysis was conducted. The macroscopic and histologic scores of the test group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < .05). These data indicated that the application of PRP/GM together with subchondral drilling accelerated cartilage regeneration in horses.  相似文献
