Organophosphates such as methamidophos, usually used in the agricultural field, have harmful effects on humans. Exposures to insecticides has been associated with many disorders, including damage to the central and peripheral nervous system. Chronic exposure to organophosphates may lead to persistent neurological and neurobehavioral effects. This study was conducted to determine the effect of methamidophos on [(3)H]-dopamine (DA) and gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) release from different brain regions after chronic exposure to it for 3, 6 or 9 months. After a six-month methamidophos treatment, the mice showed high susceptibility to convulsive seizures and a reduction in stimulated gamma aminobutyric acid release from the cerebral cortex and hippocampal slices, whereas stimulated (DA) release was slightly decreased from the striatum after three months of methamidophos exposure. The results indicate changes in gamma aminobutyric acid and dopamine neurotransmission, suggesting a specific neuronal damage. 相似文献

Ivermectin (IVM) is an antiparasitic drug, widely used in domestic animals. In mammals, IVM act as a GABA agonist. This neurotransmitter has an important role in the regulation of sexual behavior. Thus, this study sought to investigate the effects of various medically relevant doses IVM on the sexual behavior of male rats. In particular, we also wished to examine if previous sexual experience modulated responses to IVM. In the first experiment, the sexual behavior of inexperienced male rats was analyzed after they received 0.2, 0.6, 1.0 or 2.0 mg/kg IVM, 15 min prior to behavioral testing. In the second experiment, the effects of four previous sexual experiences on IVM treated rats (1.0 or 2.0 mg/kg, 15 min prior to the 5th session) were assessed. The standard therapeutic dose (0.2 mg/kg) did not impair the sexual behavior of inexperienced male rats. At a more concentrated dose (0.6 mg/kg), which is still within the therapeutic range, the appetitive phase of sexual behavior of inexperienced male rats was impaired. Likewise, 1.0 mg/kg impaired the appetitive phase. Previous sexual experience blocked almost entirely this sexual impairment, suggesting that previous sexual experience exerts a positive effect in attenuating the sexual impairment produced by IVM treatment. Therefore, the standard therapeutic dose of IVM can be used without producing side effects on sexual behavior. Use of more concentrated therapeutic doses is not recommended during reproductive periods, unless the animals have had previous sexual experience. 相似文献

为研究日粮中不同添加剂量γ-氨基丁酸(GABA)对肉雏鸡生长性能和血清生化指标的影响,将500只1日龄三黄羽肉雏鸡随机分为5组(每组100羽),其中对照组饲喂基础日粮,试验I、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ组分别在日粮中添加5、30、50和70 mg/kg的GABA,统计试验全期(1~42日龄)的生长性能指标,并测定21和42日龄血清生化指标。结果显示:试验Ⅳ组体重显著高于对照组(P<0.05),试验Ⅱ、Ⅲ组极显著高于对照组(P<0.01);试验Ⅳ组平均日增重显著高于对照组(P<0.05),而试验Ⅱ、Ⅲ组极显著高于对照组(P<0.01);各组间平均日采食量差异不显著(P>0.05);试验Ⅱ组料重比显著低于对照组(P<0.05)。结果提示:日粮中添加GABA可以增加肉雏鸡的体重、提高平均日增重、降低平均日采食量;肉雏鸡血清生化指标不受GABA的影响;日粮中推荐添加30 mg/kg的GABA。 相似文献

以晒青茶为原料,接种专利菌株近平滑假丝酵母( Candida parapsilosis ) GPT-5-11(专利号:201010182948.5)发酵普洱茶。结果表明,接种菌株的普洱茶样品GABA含量为0.3052~1.5332 mg/g,显著高于对照0.0628~0.1047 mg/g,其中灭菌每翻接种液态菌的样品 GABA含量最高,为1.5332 mg/g,达到 GABA茶的标准。同时,接种该菌株进行发酵后,发酵茶样中的主要功能成分含量均较自然发酵茶叶中的含量高,具有传统普洱茶的品质风味,且在香气和滋味方面有自身的特点,滋味醇和、厚滑,香气纯正略带乳香。 相似文献

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) on laying performance, egg quality, digestive enzyme activity, hormone level and immune activities in Roman hens under heat stress. Roman hens (320 days old) were fed with 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 mg/kg GABA, respectively during a 60-day experiment. Compared with control, supplementation of 50 mg/kg GABA improved the laying performance and egg quality by significantly increasing egg production, average egg weight and shell strength (P < 0.05), while decreasing the feed–egg ratio and cholesterol level. Anti-oxidation activity was improved by significantly increasing the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), but decreasing malondialdehyde level in serum (P < 0.05), while significantly increasing the glucose and total protein (TP) level, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol (E2), insulin, triiodothyronine (T3) and free triiodothyronine (FT3) levels, and IgG, IgA and complement (C3)activity in serum (P < 0.05). The results indicated that oral GABA improved laying performance and physical condition mainly by modulating hormone secretion, enhancing anti-oxidation and immune activity, and maintaining electrolyte balance.
