This study aimed to identify and characterize the cellular and metabolic response in vital organs of Dicentrarchus labrax, after feeding on soy‐based diets enriched with different taurine concentrations (T0.2, T0.5, T1.0 w/w). Molecular responses (expression of Hsp70, Hsp90, phosphorylation of p38 mitogen‐activated protein kinase‐p38MAPK and extracellular signal‐regulated kinases‐ERK1/2) were addressed. Metabolic and antioxidant capacities such as activities of citrate synthase (CS), malate and lactate dehydrogenase (MDH, L‐LDH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and levels of thiobarbituric acid‐reactive substances (TBARS) were assessed. The most intense changes were detected in the liver and in the anterior intestine showing that taurine induces important protective biochemical mechanisms. Specifically, in the liver and the anterior intestine, Hsp and MAPK levels, as well as L‐LDH activity levels were up‐regulated under the effect of taurine diets. T diet had no major effect on the activity levels of CS, SOD and TBARS, except for MDH in the liver and catalase in the anterior intestine, where activity levels of these enzymes were increased under the effect of T0.2 and T1.0, respectively. These results may facilitate monitoring of adequate health status of farmed fish, exploiting the beneficial T effects and could assist at the formulation of aquaculture feeding strategies.  相似文献

The term exaptation introduced by Stephen J. Gould and Elizabeth Vrba has been used infrequently. The high diversity of sound‐producing mechanisms in fishes highlights a recurrent use of this process in unrelated taxa. We propose that sonic evolution typically involves exaptations: in many fish taxa, sound production was acquired by the independent modification of existing structures with other functions. These structures were modified into complex effectors for courtship and agonistic sound production without major changes to their gnathostome Bauplan. Existing anatomical structures (teeth, bones, etc.) were likely first used in non‐voluntary sound production, which incidentally provided advantages and could then be selected specifically for signal production leading to the refinement of more sophisticated sonic organs. We postulate that in many if not most cases, sound‐production specializations originated in fish taxa that took advantage of incidental non‐voluntary sounds. We use different case‐studies to show that exaptation may be a key, albeit largely unrecognized, agent of major morphological and behavioural changes.  相似文献

The efficiency of enzymatic conversion of glucose into glucose-6-phosphate in fish fed carbohydrates is still a matter of debate. This study reports the first ever identification of hexokinase-family members at a molecular level in fish. The deduced amino acid sequences of six cDNA clones allowed their assignement either to hexokinase IV (glucokinase) for rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) or to hexokinase I/II for the common carp (two clones) and the gilthead seabream, based on their similarities to known members of the HK family. The evolutionary relationships among these sequences were investigated by phylogenetic analysis. These hexokinase sequences constitute potential molecular tools for analysis of interspecific differences in dietary carbohydrate utilization in fish.  相似文献

The effect of a short period of starvation (5–6 weeks) on thechemistry of plasma and inner ear endolymph (Na+,K+, Cl-, total Ca, protein, totalCO2 concentrations and pH) was studied in trout (Oncorhynchusmykiss). In plasma, only total Ca significantly decreased, by 0.17 mM, instarved trout. A slight drop (10%) in the plasma protein content wasalso observed. Starvation induced a metabolic plasma alkalosis characterizedby a non-signifiacant increase in pH and a significant drop of 22% oftotal CO2. In endolymph, the Na+,K+, Cl- , total Ca and protein concentrationswere not significantly different in control and starved trout, but in thelatter, the pH of the endolymph was less alkaline (significant decrease of0.3 UpH) and the total CO2 concentration was significantlyreduced by 50%. Experimental starvation was selected as aphysiological situation characterized by a slowing down of both somatic andotolith growth. We propose that the reduced rate of otolith growth isdirectly related to an overall reduction in the alkalinity of theendolymph.  相似文献

MicroRNA (miRNA)是一类长度为18~25 nt的非编码RNA,在硬骨鱼免疫应答中起重要作用。近年来,借助高通量测序与荧光定量PCR (RT-PCR)技术,筛选到大量免疫相关的差异表达miRNA (DE miRNA)。通过比较多种硬骨鱼在不同病毒/细菌感染条件的miRNA表达谱,筛选出相同DE miRNA,并认为筛选出的DE miRNA是潜在参与调节宿主免疫应答的进化上保守的候选DE miRNA。据此,我们在病毒感染表达谱中筛选到10个进化保守的DE miRNA,细菌感染表达谱中筛选到8个保守的DE miRNA。此外,miRNA的功能研究也取得较大进展,宿主miRNA不仅可直接抑制病毒的复制,同时参与调控干扰素反应、炎症、细胞凋亡等过程。本文简述了硬骨鱼免疫相关miRNA的研究进展,以期为硬骨鱼疾病预防与治疗提供新思路。  相似文献

对骨舌鱼总目、海鲢总目、鲱形总目和骨鳔总目等低等真骨鱼类肌间骨的数量、形态和分布进行了比较分析,结果如下:1.海鳗肌间骨的数目最多(409枚),其次是刀鲚(221枚),黄颡鱼肌间骨数最少(8枚),双须骨舌鱼次之(70枚),鲤科鱼类的肌间骨数目在99~133之间。2.从骨舌鱼总目到骨鳔总目,各种肌间骨可归纳为7种形态类型,从简单形态向复杂形态演化,然后出现退化现象。双须骨舌鱼只有形态最简单的"I"形髓弓小骨,没有脉弓小骨;海鲢总目的海鳗出现一端两分叉的形态,而鲱形总目的鲥和刀鲚出现一端多分叉的形态,到骨鳔总目的各种鱼类,开始出现两端两分叉,并在此基础上出现各种更复杂的形态;肌间骨形态在鲤科的鲌亚科最复杂,从雅罗鱼亚科开始退化,到鲇形目髓弓小骨完全消失,而脉弓小骨仅留少数简单的I形;脉弓小骨形态的复杂性要比髓弓小骨低。3.从前向后,髓弓小骨形态依照从复杂到简单的顺序排列,而脉弓小骨没有这种明显的排列顺序。根据低等真骨鱼类的系统发育关系,结合肌间骨形态及其在各肌间隔的分布规律,本文认为,目前鲤科鱼类的各种肌间骨是通过两个途径演化而来的:从"I"形-"卜"形-"Y"形-一端多叉形和从"I"形-"卜"形-"Y"形-两端两分叉形-两端多叉形-树枝形。  相似文献

Free plasma thyroxine (FT4) levels were measured in coho salmon, Oncorhynchus kisutch, during parr-smolt transformation (smoltification) using an equilibrium dialysis system followed by a radioimmunoassay. The FT4 data were correlated to total plasma thyroxine (TT4), triiodothyronine (TT3), and growth hormone (GH). Plasma samples were taken weekly from early April to late May, when the salmon where released from the hatchery. Free thyroxine and GH levels increased gradually through smoltification. TT4 levels increased significantly in mid-April and in mid-May. TT3 levels increased in April and remained elevated until late-May after which they declined to the lowest levels. During the first increase in TT4 levels, FT4 levels remained low and TT3 levels did not increase until FT4 levels increased in late-April. In addition, after TT4 levels decreased in late May, FT4 levels remained elevated. These data show that there are differences between the plasma FT4 and TT4 profiles during smoltification. Nevertheless, regression analysis indicates that FT4 levels are highly correlated to the increases in the levels of GH (r=0.73) and TT4 (r=0.70). In addition, GH is less correlated to TT4 and TT3 (r=0.24 and r=–0.46, respectively) compared with FT4 (r=0.73), suggesting a close relationship between the increases of FT4 and GH. In addition, these data suggest that this method of measuring free plasma thyroxine may provide a new tool for studying the timing of thyroid hormone action and regulation during parr-smolt transformation in salmonids.  相似文献

Cholinergic signalling in mammalian gut smooth muscle usually involves M3 muscarinic receptors for direct contraction via phospholipase C activation and M2 muscarinic receptors to reduce cyclic AMP levels. However, the proportion of receptor subtypes and second messengers involved varies among tissues and animals and studies in non-mammalian species will provide information on the conservation of pathways and consequently on their importance for signal transduction. In the present study we investigated receptor subtypes, involvement of calcium, phospholipase C and cyclic AMP in the cholinergic contraction of the rainbow trout gut. Intestinal and gastric smooth muscle strip preparations, with the mucosa removed, were used in functional studies, and homogenised strips were used for measurements of cyclic AMP. Calcium-free medium, the L-type calcium-channel inhibitor verapamil, the cyclic AMP-phosphodiesterase inhibitor IBMX + isoprenaline, and the M3-antagonist 4-DAMP methiodide all caused a partial or marked reduction of the response to cholinergic agonists. Neomycin, an inhibitor of phospholipase C, and SKF96365, an inhibitor of receptor-operated calcium channels, had no effect. Carbachol (0.1 mM) reduced the levels of cyclic AMP transiently. It is concluded that the cholinergic signal transduction in rainbow trout gut smooth muscle involves (1) binding to M3-like receptors, (2) a transient reduction in cyclic AMP levels, (3) influx of extracellular calcium, in part through L-type calcium-channels and (4) no involvement of phospholipase C.  相似文献
