Green nanotechnology is now accepted as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective advance with various biomedical applications. The cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. is a unicellular spherical cyanobacterium with photo- and hetero-trophic capabilities. This study investigates the ability of this cyanobacterial species to produce silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and the wound-healing properties of the produced nanoparticles in diabetic animals. Methods: UV–visible and FT-IR spectroscopy and and electron microscopy techniques investigated AgNPs’ producibility by Synechocystis sp. when supplemented with silver ion source. The produced AgNPs were evaluated for their antimicrobial, anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, and diabetic wound healing along with their angiogenesis potential. Results: The cyanobacterium biosynthesized spherical AgNPs with a diameter range of 10 to 35 nm. The produced AgNPs exhibited wound-healing properties verified with increased contraction percentage, tensile strength and hydroxyproline level in incision diabetic wounded animals. AgNPs treatment decreased epithelialization period, amplified the wound closure percentage, and elevated collagen, hydroxyproline and hexosamine contents, which improved angiogenesis factors’ contents (HIF-1α, TGF-β1 and VEGF) in excision wound models. AgNPs intensified catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activities, and glutathione (GSH) and nitric oxide content and reduced malondialdehyde (MDA) level. IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, and NF-κB (the inflammatory mediators) were decreased with AgNPs’ topical application. Conclusion: Biosynthesized AgNPs via Synechocystis sp. exhibited antimicrobial, anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, and angiogenesis promoting effects in diabetic wounded animals.  相似文献

[目的]探讨不同浓度的德国洋甘菊(Matricaria chamomilla L.)精油对成纤维细胞增殖和迁移的影响以及对小鼠皮肤创伤愈合的作用。[方法]用CCK8法检测不同浓度德国洋甘菊精油对成纤维细胞增殖的影响,用划痕法检测其对成纤维细胞迁移的影响,用小鼠切除伤模型检测其对小鼠创伤愈合的影响。[结果]结果表明德国洋甘菊精油可显著促进成纤维细胞增殖和迁移,其促进作用呈剂量依赖性;可显著提高小鼠皮肤创伤愈合速度,增加创面皮肤真皮厚度和成纤维细胞数目。[结论]德国洋甘菊精油能促进皮肤创伤愈合,其机制可能与促进成纤维细胞增殖和迁移有关。  相似文献

以黑龙江省黑土区农田防护林为研究对象,以不切根贴膜为对照,研究距树干0.5、1、2 m切根贴膜处理对杨树光合生理特性、气孔特征及叶绿体超微结构的影响。结果表明:切根贴膜1个月后的杨树净光合速率与对照相比显著降低,下降幅度随着断根强度的加大而增加;切根贴膜3个月后,杨树净光合速率基本恢复到对照水平。切根贴膜处理后的杨树净光合速率下降时伴随着气孔阻力的升高和胞间CO2浓度的下降,表明杨树净光合速率的下降主要是由气孔限制因子引起的。切根贴膜1个月后的杨树叶片上下表皮气孔密度与对照相比均明显降低,之后不断增加,下表皮气孔密度在切根贴膜2个月后已明显高于对照。切根贴膜1个月后杨树叶绿体超微结构受到明显影响,随着断根强度的加大,叶绿体发生膨胀,有明显质壁分离现象,叶绿体片层模糊,淀粉粒体积变小,数量减少,嗜锇颗粒数量大量增加;切根贴膜3个月后的杨树叶片叶绿体超微结构得到了较好的恢复,距树干1、2 m切根贴膜处理的叶绿体中淀粉粒的数量和体积有明显增加现象。杨树因切根贴膜而导致的叶片结构与功能的损伤是可逆的,杨树通过改变自身的光合生理特性来适应切根贴膜所导致的水分胁迫,叶片气孔形态及叶绿体超微结构都发生了适应性变化,这种变化与断根强度相关。综合分析,距树干0.5、1、2 m处切根贴膜是可行的。   相似文献

Purpose To describe a case of an orbito‐nasal cyst in a cat. Procedure An 18‐month‐old male European short‐haired cat was presented to the Ophthalmology service of the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich for a subcutaneous swelling in the medial canthal region of the right eye (OD). Ophthalmologic, ultrasound and CT examinations, and fine needle aspiration were performed. After lesion excision, the removed tissue was submitted for histopathology. CT examination was repeated 5 months after removal of the cyst. Results Ophthalmologic examination revealed a large fluctuant swelling inferonasal to OD. Despite patent lacrimal puncta, only the first few mm of the lacrimal canaliculi could be cannulated. A normal globe with moderate enophthalmos was present. Ultrasound examination showed a well‐defined lobulated cyst‐like structure in the right orbit, inferonasal and anterior to the eye. CT examination revealed extension of this lesion through the medial orbital wall into the right nasal cavity. Fine needle aspiration confirmed the cystic nature of the lesion. An orbito‐nasal cyst was diagnosed. The orbital part of the cyst was dissected from the surrounding tissue and excised from the periosteum in the medial orbital wall defect. Part of the maxillary bone was removed to allow removal of the cyst from the nasal cavity. Histologically, the cyst wall consisted of a single to multilayered, mostly cuboidal epithelium and surrounding connective tissue. Follow‐up revealed a good functional result and no recurrence 7 months after cyst removal. Conclusions Similar orbito‐nasal cystic structures were reported in dogs but not in cats.  相似文献

Extended-hip ventrodorsal pelvic radiographs performed on 16 dogs after femoral head and neck excision, with (n = S) and without (n = 8) biceps femoris interpositional muscle flaps, were used to estimate the relative amount of soft tissue interposition between the femoral ostectomy site and acetabulum. A linear measurement was made of the shortest distance between the femoral ostectomy and the acetabulum. The linear measurement was capable of determining the presence of biceps femoris muscle flaps in most dogs prior to flap atrophy or necrosis, but failed to be predictive of limb function as determined by functional limb usage grading, force plate analysis, and thigh circumference measurements.  相似文献

A 25 year-old American Paint gelding was referred to the Onderstepoort Academic Veterinary Hospital with an ulcerated lesion of nonpigmented skin at the right lateral aspect of the perianal region. An infiltrating squamous cell carcinoma was suspected. Surgical excision and ablation with sharp surgical excision and a diode laser was performed although complete excision was not possible due to the tumour location. Intralesional chemotherapy was performed at the completion of the surgical excision and continued in the post-operative period. Histological examination of the excised lesion confirmed a diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma and revealed incomplete resection margins at the medial, dorsal and ventral aspects of the surgical site. The surgical site healed uneventfully and a re-examination at 6 months post-surgery revealed the gelding to have normal clinical parameters with no perianal lesions.  相似文献

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a rapid non‐invasive imaging technique that has shown high sensitivity for intra‐operative surgical margin assessment in human breast cancer clinical trials. This promising technology has not been evaluated in veterinary medicine. The objective of this study was to correlate normal and abnormal histological features with OCT images for surgical margins from excised canine soft tissue sarcoma (STS) and to establish image evaluation criteria for identifying positive surgical margins. Fourteen client‐owned dogs underwent surgical resection of a STS and OCT imaging of 2 to 4 areas of interest on the resected specimen were performed. Following imaging these areas were marked with surgical ink and trimmed for histopathology evaluation. Results showed that different tissue types had distinct characteristic appearances on OCT imaging. Adipose tissue exhibited a relatively low scattering and a honey‐comb texture pattern. Skeletal muscle and sarcoma tissue were both dense and highly scattering. While sarcoma tissue was highly scattering, it did not have organized recognizable structure in contrast to muscle which showed clear fibre alignment patterns. In this investigation, we showed different tissue types had different and characteristic scattering and image texture appearances on OCT, which closely correlate with low‐power histology images. Given the differentiation between tissue types the results support that OCT could be used to identify positive surgical margins immediately following resection of STS. Further research is needed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of this method for surgical margin assessment.  相似文献
