Summary A partially downy mildew resistant pea line was back-crossed to a susceptible cultivar with more pods per node and lower seed weight. Breeding lines with different degrees of infection in a greenhouse test were selected. These lines and the two parental lines were investigated in field trials and tested in the greenhouse for four generations. Significant genetic variation among lines was found for infection of seedlings in greenhouse tests, and infection of pods, pod set and seed weight in field-trials. Infection of seedlings in the greenhouse was correlated with infection of pods in the field. In greenhouse tests, the non-genetic variance component was large in comparison with the genetic component and a significant genotype trial interaction was found. Significant repeatability was obtained for downy mildew on seedlings and pods, number of pods per node and seed weight. An unfavourable correlation between susceptibility to downy mildew and number of pods per node was found. No single breeding line showed the ideal combination of good resistance, high number of pods per node and small seeds. However, one line showing better resistance than the susceptible parent, with smaller seeds and more pods per node than the resistant parent was found. The susceptible parent also carries some resistance factor that is not present in the resistant parent.  相似文献

Summary Eighty-one accessions of three Lactuca species which showed no recognisable race specific resistance to Bremia lactucae when tested in the laboratory as seedlings, exhibited different degrees of susceptibility when exposed to natural field infection. As a group, crisp genotypes had less mildew and a slower rate of disease development than other types of lettuce. Wild forms of Lactuca sativa and Lactuca serriola were particularly susceptible. In a further trial, the low field susceptibility of three lettuce cultivars (Iceberg, Batavia blonde de Paris and Grand Rapids) was confirmed. Disease development on cv. Iceberg was compared to that on the highly susceptible cv. Hilde in experiments where the two cultivars were grown either in close proximity or in isolation. The absolute level of attack on cv. Iceberg depended upon disease pressure and differences between the two types only became apparent approximately 8 wk after sowing.  相似文献

Summary Among the genes for resistance against Sphaerotheca fuliginea, the gene s for resistance of the hypocotyl is linked to or identical with gene p for resistance to Pseudoperonospora cubensis. This gene s is present in the cultivars Ashley, Poinsett, Natsufushinari, Pixie, Taipei and in accessions PI 179676. PI 212233 and PI 234517.Although gene s initially brings about some resistance of the true leaf, it appears that when s is present. other genes are necessary for complete resistance to S. fuliginea.  相似文献

Summary Partial resistance to powdery mildew in spring barley was evaluated in three plot types: large isolation plots, in 1.4 m2 plots in chessboard design with guard plots of spring wheat and in single rows. Percentage leaf area covered by powdery mildew was scored four to six times during the season and partial resistance was characterized by the area under the disease progress curve. Varietal differences were revealed in al three plot designs, differences between the most resistant and susceptible genotypes being of a factor five. Differences between varieties decreased with decreasing plot size. The relationship between single scores of amount of powdery mildew on the upper four leaves and the area under the disease progress curve was high in all plot designs during the first two to three weeks after heading, allowing selection for the trait by one or two scorings. Differential ranking of varieties between different plot designs was observed, and is assumed to be due to increasing plot interference with reduced plot size and reduced distance between plots. A reliable selection for partial resistance could be made in large isolation plots and in 1.4 m2 plots, but hardly in single rows.  相似文献

Summary In black currant (Ribes nigrum) backcross progenies segregating for resistance to the gall mite, Cecidophyopsis ribis Westw. (gene Ce from Ribes grossularia L.), and to American gooseberry mildew, Sphaerotheca mors-uvae (Schw.) Berk. (gene Sph 3from R. glutinosum), significant differences in season of leafing out occurred between the resistant and susceptible classes. The data are consistent with the hypothesis that two additive genes, Lf 1and Lf 2, controlled season of leafing out and that Ce and Sph 3 were linked with Lf 1.  相似文献

Summary Visual assessment, black & white image analysis and colour image analysis of the severity of powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca fuliginea) infection on leaves of cucumber (Cucumis sativus) were compared. The extent of infection with powdery mildew was expressed as the number of spores per cm2. Statistical treatment of the data showed colour image analysis to be superior to the other two methods of evaluation. Major veins, light reflections and variations in the colour of leaves can degrade the accuracy of colour image analysis somewhat. These problems are, however, surmountable. Molecular mapping of powdery mildew resistance genes in wheat: A review   总被引:40,自引:3,他引:40  
Powdery mildew, caused by Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici (syn. Erysiphe graminis f. sp. tritici), is one of the most important diseases of common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) worldwide. Molecular mapping and cloning of genes for resistance to powdery mildew in hexaploid wheat will facilitate the study of molecular mechanisms underlying resistance to powdery mildew diseases and help understand the structure and function of powdery mildew resistance genes, and permit marker-assisted selection in breeding programs. So far, 48 genes/alleles for resistance to powdery mildew at 32 loci have been identified and located on 16 different chromosomes, of which 21 resistance genes/alleles have been tagged by restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLPs), random-amplified polymorphic DNAs (RAPDs), amplified fragment length polymorphisms (AFLPs), sequence characterized amplified regions (SCARs), sequence-tagged sites (STS) or simple sequence repeats (SSRs). Several quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for adult plant resistance (APR) to powdery mildew have been associated with molecular markers. The detailed information on chromosomal location and molecular mapping of these genes has been reviewed. Isolation of powdery mildew resistance genes and development of valid molecular markers for pyramiding resistance genes in breeding programs is also discussed.  相似文献

The genetics of powdery mildew (Erysiphe pisi) resistance in pea (Pisum sativum) was studied using five isolates of E. pisi in a controlled environment. Resistance was controlled by a single recessive gene in all the pea cvs. included in the study. The same recessive gene controlled resistance to all the five isolates of E. pisi. Tests for allelism showed that resistance in cvs. HPPC-63, HPPC-95, DPP-26, DPP-54, Mexique-4, SVP-950, Wisconsin-7104 and P-6588 is conferred by the same recessive gene. 大麦DNA导入小麦诱导抗白粉病变异的研究   总被引:9,自引:2,他引:9  
本试验利用外源DNA导入技术,研究了大麦DNA导入小麦品种后,D_1,D_2和D_3代的抗白粉病变异株(系)在不同条件下的抗性表现及产量构成、籽粒蛋白质和氨基酸含量的变化。试验结果表明,导入外源DNA的D_1代小麦檀株出。现了抗白粉病等多种变异类型,其中免疫和高抗白粉病变异株古2.77%,且抗性能够向子代传递,其D_2代在大田自然发病和温室接菌条件下,有5个株系抗性保持稳定,8个株系有分离,其中一个株系在D_2和D_3代抗性均稳定。在田间D_2代有2个稳定株系(D_2-20,D_2-29)的籽粒粗蛋白质含量,比受体分别高20.3%和15.76%,17种氨基酸总量分别高23.4%和27.5%。在温室这些性,状的数值也明显高于受体。  相似文献

野生二粒小麦(Triticum dicoccoides)是小麦抗病育种的重要资源库之一。来自以色列Mount Hermon的野生二粒小麦材料IW3 和IW10对我国小麦白粉病菌生理小种E09表现高抗。对硬粒小麦Langdon与IW3和IW10两个杂交组合F2分离群体和F3家系的遗传分析表明,IW3和IW10对小麦白粉菌E09的抗性均受显性单基因控制,暂被命名为MlIW3和MlIW10。采用BSA法和SSR标记分析,筛选到与抗白粉病基因MlIW3和MlIW10连锁的5个SSR标记,这两个基因均位于Xbarc84和Xwmc326之间,顺序为Xbarc84–4.6 cM–MlIW3–1.6 cM–Xwmc326和Xbarc84–6.6 cM–MlIW10–0.6 cM–Xwmc326。根据SSR分子标记的遗传图谱和在中国春的缺体—四体、双端体和缺失系的定位结果,这两个抗白粉病基因被定位在3BL染色体的末端。根据MlIW3和MlIW10的来源和分子标记定位结果,推断这两个基因可能是小麦抗白粉病基因Pm41或其等位基因或位于同一个基因簇中。  相似文献
