As the key parameters of the Martian regolith, we have studied the combined effect of gamma radiation (1 and 10 kGy), low temperature (–50°C), and low pressure (1 Torr) on the microbial communities of extreme ecotopes of Earth to estimate the duration of cryopreservation of hypothetical Martian ecosystems in a viable state. The obtained data suggest that cryopreservation of viable microorganisms in the surface layer of the regolith is possible for at least 130000 years; at a depth of 30 cm, for 170000 years; at a depth of 2 m (the depth which the ExoMars 2020 mission must reach), for 330000 years; and at a depth of 5 m, for 2 million years.  相似文献

The influence of different organic substrates (litter manure, diesel fuel, and glyphosate) on characteristics of functional diversity assessed with the help of multisubstrate testing and biological activity in sodpodzol soils and land incubated in a sample experiment is analyzed. It is shown that manure and oil products improve the characteristics of biodiversity and breathing and nitrogen fixation in soil and lands, in particular. The effect of humate and glyphosate was weaker and depended to a greater extent on the dose applied.  相似文献

Methane consumption in constructions is driven by its intense biofiltration which differs by seasons according to the general specifics of the functioning of methanotrophs. Three stages of methane biofiltration were identified—adaptation, optimum, and stress. It was established that methane biofiltration in soil construction is 1.5–2.0 times higher than in soil-like constructions. The biofiltration process under intense methane inflow leads to filtrate acidity increase; the Eh value drops in the summer period in constructions and grows during the winter season; a significant increase in microbial community stability is observed.  相似文献

A field experiment showed that long-term addition of easily accessible carbon (sucrose) into soil leads to an abrupt reduction in the number of cellulose-degrading bacteria but to an increase in the functional diversity of the soil microbial community along with an increase in carbon dioxide emission, nitrogen fixation, and denitrification. The exclusion of ectomycorrhizal spruce roots did not affect the number of hydrolytic bacteria but stimulated nitrogen fixation and decreased the intensity of basal respiration and denitrification activity of the soil.  相似文献

The influence of SHF radiation on soil streptomycetes   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Streptomycete cultures isolated from chernozem, soddy-podzolic, and low-moor peat soils were used in the experiment. The spore suspensions responded to SHF radiation (superhigh frequency radiation) at a shorter (30 s) exposition than the suspensions of vegetative streptomycete cells (60 s) did. The SHF radiation affected all the streptomycetes investigated. Both the suppression and stimulation of the respiration intensity, as well as a higher biomass accumulation and a resonance effect, were observed for different species of streptomycetes under the influence of microwaves. The effect of the SHF radiation on the biomass accumulation and the intensity of the other physiological processes may lead to the changes in the number of streptomycetes and their activity in the microbial complex of the soils. The changes in the capability of the streptomycetes concerning the assimilation of substrates under the influence of SHF radiation were revealed using multisubstrate testing.  相似文献

The microbial component is one of the key factors responsible for soil fertility and soil quality. The sensitivities of some structural and functional parameters of soil microbial communities in soddy-podzolic soils under long-term self-remediation conditions were compared. The suitability of the parameters studied for quantifying the resilience of soil biota to agricultural intervention was studied.  相似文献

The health status of microbial communities in soils of the Sulak Lowland (Dagestan) was estimated on the basis of data on their functional diversity. The health status of the microbial communities decreased in the following soil sequence: typical meadow soil > meadow-chestnut soil > dark chestnut soil > saline soil (solonchak). The low concentration of soluble salts (<1 meq/100 g of soil) had a positive effect on the functioning of the microbial communities. The health status of the microbial communities also depended on the soil humus content and pH conditions.  相似文献
