Mycorrhizae are fungal symbionts forming mutualistic relationships with plant roots. This study was undertaken to evaluate the overall influence of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on the overall growth and development of carrot plant. Surface-sterilized seeds of carrot were sown in earthen pots filled with sterile soil. Half of the pots were inoculated with AMF spores; the other half without any AMF inoculation represented control. After germination inoculated plants, along with the controls, were sampled at 20, 40, 60 and 80 days of growth after seedling emergence. There is a progressive net increase in growth with each 20-day interval after seedling emergence. Storage roots of carrot had a higher level of metabolites and nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in mycorrhiza colonized plants than the control. High performance liquid chromatography analysis indicated an increase in the carbohydrate fractions in AMF-inoculated roots. Thus, mycorrhiza has been found increasing the growth, metabolites and nutrition of carrot plant.  相似文献

Half of the pots were inoculated with sterilized arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) spores and sterilized inoculated maize root fragments, and another half without any AMF inoculation representing control. Inoculation was done twice 3 days before sowing the tubers and on the onset of seedling emergence. Plants, along with their controls, were sampled at 20-day intervals upto 80 days after tuber initiation. The tubers of potato are shown to present a higher level of metabolites and mineral nutrition in the mycorrhizal inoculated compared to the non-inoculated. The results showed that AMF has a potential in enhancing potato production by increasing the storage metabolites, mineral nutrition in tubers and nitrogen assimilating enzymes in plant.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to detect Leishmania infantum DNA by real-time PCR in urine from different groups of dogs with clinical leishmaniosis. Urine from 10 clinically healthy dogs and 43 dogs with clinical leishmaniosis diagnosed by positive serology and/or bone marrow PCR were studied. The group of 43 dogs with clinical leishmaniosis was divided into three subgroups: 13 dogs with renal insufficiency and proteinuria (urine protein-creatinine ratio greater than one), 13 dogs with only proteinuria, and 17 dogs with neither renal insufficiency nor proteinuria. The detection of Leishmania DNA was performed by light cycler real-time PCR using hybridization probes in each urine sample. Leishmania positive PCR was found in 47% (20/43) of the urine from leishmaniotic dogs, while all urine from clinically healthy dogs were negative. The percentages of positive Leishmania PCR were 85% (11/13) in dogs with renal insufficiency and proteinuria, 23% (3/13) in dogs with proteinuria and 35% (6/17) in dogs with neither renal insufficiency nor proteinuria. Dogs with renal insufficiency and proteinuria presented a statistical significant greater percentage of positive Leishmania PCR in urine when compared with the other subgroups (P<0.02). This study demonstrates the presence of Leishmania DNA in urine of dogs with leishmaniosis. Those dogs with severe renal damage present a greater number of Leishmania parasites in urine.  相似文献

The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the effect of foliar fertilization of some micronutrients [i.e., manganese (Mn) and boron (B)] on reproductive yield and fatty acid concentrations of a standard sunflower hybrid (‘NuSun 636') irrigated with different concentrations of saline water made by dissolving sea salt. Reproductive yield showed a significant decrease with the increase in salt in the rooting medium. However, foliar sprays of boric acid (H3BO3) and manganese chloride (MnCl2) showed a significant increase in seed number, seed weight, and oil content of seeds in the nonsaline control, which persisted even under saline water irrigation. An increase under the MnCl2 spray was more than with H3BO3 irrespective of non saline or saline water irrigation. Increasing levels of salinity appeared to be responsible for a decrease in oleic monounsaturated fatty acid concentration and an increase in the linoleic polyunsaturated, palmitic and stearic saturated fatty acid content whereas no significant change was found in linolenic polyunsaturated fatty acid content. Foliar applications of H3BO3 and MnCl2 brought some beneficial alteration in fatty acid concentrations of sunflower. Foliar application of H3BO3 caused a significant increase in palmitic and stearic saturated fatty acids and linoleic polyunsaturated fatty acids in control as well as under saline conditions. Oleic monounsaturated fatty acid concentration showed a decline under H3BO3 treatment irrespective to nonsaline or saline conditions. Foliar applications of MnCl2 increased the concentration of palmitic saturated fatty acid and oleic monounsaturated fatty acid irrespective to the plant growth under non saline or saline conditions. While stearic saturated fatty acid, linoleic and linolenic polyunsaturated fatty acid decreased with the application of manganese as compared to the non sprayed control.  相似文献
