The ambient concentration of SO2, NOx and Ox in the atmosphere of Hiroshima, Fukuyama and Fuchu city which were monitored by the prefectural monitoring stations, are examined to give a picture of the typical air pollution at these sites. Results show that the yearly concentrations of SO2 in these areas are significantly fall from 20 to 6 ppb during 1978–1996 when the NOx concentrations having no such significant change which varies from 40 to 30 ppb. The Photo-chemical Oxidant (Ox) increases annually at the rate of 0.3 ppb to 0.6 ppb in Hiroshima city only. To know the present situation of air pollution the Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS) system is used in the city of Higashi Hiroshima. The daily average concentrations of SO2, NO2, O3 and HONO measured during the period of August 1999 to March 2000 ranged from 1.4 ppb to 2.8 ppb, 13 ppb to 26.9 ppb, 21 ppb to 53.6 ppb and 1 ppb to 4.3 ppb respectively. The patterns of concentrations of NO2 and O3 measured by DOAS look similar to the seasonal patterns of NOx and Ox by the conventional system.  相似文献

Rainfall, stemflow, and throughfall were collected from 1996 to 1999 at two types of forest sites: (1) forests near the traffic roads and urban areas and (2) forests away from the urban areas at Mt. Gokurakuji, Hiroshima, western Japan in order to estimatethe effects of anthropogenic activities on atmospheric deposition. Rainfall deposition for major ions showed small differences between the sites. The NO3 - and SO4 2-concentrations in stemflow were higher at the urban-facing slope than at the mountain-facing slope. Throughfall deposition of NO3 - and SO4 2- was also higher at urban-facing slopes. Net throughfall (NTF) deposition (throughfall minus rainfall) of NO3 - and SO4 2- accounted for 77 and50% of the total throughfall deposition on urban-facing slopes, respectively, while it accounted for 44 and 23% on themountain-facing slopes, respectively. These results indicated a higher contribution from dry deposition on urban-facing slopes compared to mountain-facing slopes. Atmospheric N (NO3 - +NH4 +) deposition from throughfall was estimated to be around 17–26 kg N ha-1 yr-1 on urban-facing slopes, which was greater than the threshold of N deposition that could cause nitrogen leaching in Europe and the United States. The highload of atmospheric N deposition may be one of the factors bringing about the decline of pine forests on urban-facing slopesof Mt. Gokurakuji.  相似文献

A eulerian grid photochemical transport and dispersion model was used to simulate the dry deposition rates of nitrogen (as HNO3) and sulfur (as SO2) in Hiroshima, west Japan. Seasonal patterns of predicted dry deposition fluxes reveal that HNO3 is most prevalent at more remote locations while SO2 is deposited near to and slightly downwind from the major emission sources. The predicted dry deposition rates of HNO3 and SO2 were compared to the values measured at Mt. Gokurakuji (located in Hatsukaichi) and in Hiroshima City. The simulation results show that the model under-predicted (about 44% and 80%, respectively) both nitrogen and sulfur deposition rates at Mt. Gokurakuji and in Hiroshima City, indicating that the acid deposition in Hiroshima prefecture is possibly affected by long-range transboundary transport of acidic pollutants. Comparison of wet to dry deposition ratios (4.5 and 8.7 for nitrogen and 4.6 and 7.0 for sulfur) from the two observation sites above indicates that wet deposition maybe the most important acid deposition pathway in Hiroshima, Japan.  相似文献

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are considered to be atmospheric pollutants and well-known human carcinogens. This study analyzes the pollution scenarios of PAHs in the aerosol of Higashi Hiroshima, Japan. We examined the characteristics, the influences of meteorological conditions, the distribution and seasonal variation of PAHs in aerosol samples collected from June 2000 to May 2001. The concentration of PAHs in the aerosol of Higashi Hiroshima was ranging from 11.8 to 157.5 μg/g with a mean concentration of 63.4 μg/g. Results showed that there is positive correlation between aerosol PAH concentrations and ambient temperature but a relatively little correlation with solar radiation. Seasonal variation was observed with a higher concentration during winter and lower concentration during summer. Apart from that, principal component analysis and molecular diagnostic ratios were also used to characterize and identify possible PAHs emission sources. Results obtained strongly suggested that vehicular emissions appeared to be the major source of aerosol PAHs in this study although other sources do have some degree of influence.  相似文献

Biquara is one of the main fish species caught in the northeast coast of Brazil but presents low commercial value. Therefore, the elaboration of biquara-based products with the addition of plant bran as a source of dietary fiber should be studied as a way to add value to biquara. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the physicochemical, microbiological, and sensory aspects of fishburgers made with biquara fillet with the addition of wheat bran (WB) (0, 1, 2, and 3%). The increase in WB decreased moisture and increased protein levels, ash, fiber, carbohydrates, and energy value. In addition, the inclusion of WB increased the cooking shrinkage and decreased hardness and cohesiveness of the samples. The fishburgers with the greatest WB levels presented a reddish-yellow hue. The microbial counts of the products were below the maximum limit allowed by the Brazilian legislation. The overall acceptance of the fishburgers improved with the addition of 0 to 2% WB. Therefore, the biquara fillets have a potential for the elaboration of fishburgers with the addition of 2% WB, once the products presented suitable physicochemical composition, sensory acceptance, and hygienic sanitary control according to the current national legislation.  相似文献

Nitrogenous air pollutants including nitrogen dioxide (NO2), nitric acid (HNO3), nitrate (NO 3 ? ), ammonia (NH3), ammonium (NH 4 + ), and nitrous acid (HONO) were characterized at an urban forested (UF) site in Hiroshima and at a suburban forested (SF) site in Fukuoka, western Japan, using an annular denuder system for 1?year from May 2006 to May 2007 to compare the concentrations and chemical species of atmospheric nitrogenous pollutants between UF and SF sites. The proximity of the urban area was reflected in higher NO2 concentrations at the UF site than at the SF site. NO2 was more oxidized at the SF site because it is farther from an urban area than the UF site, which was reflected in higher concentrations of HNO3 at the SF site than the UF site. HNO3 and acidic sulfate is neutralized by NH3, existing as ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) and ammonium sulfate [(NH4)2SO4] at the UF site. At the SF site, acidic sulfate is neutralized by NH3, existing as (NH4)2SO4, but NH4NO3, had scarcely formed at the SF site. A much higher HONO concentration was observed at the UF site than at the SF site, especially in winter and spring at night, which could be explained by higher NO2 concentrations at the UF site because of its proximity to an urban area and stagnant meteorological conditions. Atmospheric HONO determination was critical in evaluating the possibility of damage to trees in UF areas.  相似文献

Photochemical formation rates and sources of the hydroxyl (OH) radical were determined in dew water formed on the surface of Japanese red pine (Pinus densiflora) needles of declining (NO2 polluted area) and healthy pine stands at Mt. Gokurakuji located west of Hiroshima city in western Japan. The measured OH radical photoformation rates in dew water (n=10), which were normalized to the rate at midday on May 1 at 34°N, ranged from 0.67 to 5.18 µM h?1 (1M=1mol L?1). The mean value (2.69 µM h?1) was higher than that in dew water collected on a Teflon board and higher than the mean value in rain water published previously. Of the total OH radical formation rate observed in dew water on the pine needles, 16.4 % was estimated to originate from N (III) (NO2 ? and HNO2) and 24.6 % was estimated to originate from NO3 ?. There were other sources of OH radical photochemical formation in dew water on the pine needles besides photolysis of NO2 ? and NO3 ?.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Smoking is a technique used to improve the sensory attributes and increase the shelf life of fish. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the nutritional, physicochemical, microbiological, and sensory characteristics of sausages made with sea catfish (Sciades herzbergii) fillets subjected to the traditional and liquid smoking processes. The traditionally smoked sausages showed lower (p < .05) moisture content and higher protein, fat, and mineral levels, higher weight loss during processing, higher pH, higher a* (red intensity), and lower L* (luminosity) values. The percentage of shrinkage, water holding capacity, water activity, hardness, cohesiveness, and elasticity were not influenced (p > .05) by the smoking methods tested. The microbial counts of both treatments were in compliance with the current Brazilian legislation. The sensory acceptance of the liquid smoked sausages was higher (p < .05) when compared to the traditionally smoked sausages for the attributes of color, aroma, texture, flavor, and overall acceptance, with scores ranging from 6 (liked slightly) to 7 (liked moderately). Between the two smoking methods tested, liquid smoking presented better sensory acceptance, easier execution, greater process control, and less environmental impact; thus, it is a viable alternative to the traditional smoking of sea catfish (Sciades herzbergii) sausages.  相似文献

The correlation of particulate PAHs, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and ozone were examined. The pollution scenario of particulate PAHs, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and ozone is also briefly presented as supplementary information. Both sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide were found to have significant positive correlations with total particulate PAHs as well as with most individual PAH species studied, suggesting they mostly share the same common emission source and transportation pattern. On the other hand, ozone was observed to selectively have a strong negative correlation with several PAH species, namely BgP, BaP, BaA, Pyr and Ace, probably due to the ozonolysis reaction of these species.  相似文献
