Contrast-enhanced ultrasound using Sonazoid, a novel contrast medium with a liver-specific Kupffer phase, was evaluated in canine focal liver lesions Twenty-five dogs with a liver mass were given intravenous Sonazoid, and the enhancement pattern in the arterial, portal, and parenchymal phase was characterized. An enhancement defect in the lesion in the parenchymal phase was observed in all malignant lesions, whereas only one of nine benign lesions had a filling defect. The diagnostic value of the presence of a filling defect for malignancy was statistically significant (100% sensitivity, 88.9% specificity, 94.1% positive predictive value, 100% negative predictive value), and was equal to that of hypoenhancement in the portal or delayed phase. The defect pattern (clear or irregular defect) was dependent ( P <0.05) on the types of malignancy (i.e., hepatocellular carcinoma and other types of malignancies). In the arterial phase, five of the six hepatocellular carcinomas had hypervascularity, whereas no other lesion was characterized by hypervascularity. In some dogs, additional lesions that could not be observed with conventional B-mode ultrasonography were detected in the parenchymal phase. The enhancement pattern of Sonazoid, especially in the parenchymal phase, has potential as a diagnostic tool for canine focal liver lesions. 相似文献

The methanol extract of Bletilla striata, an ornamental orchid in eastern Asia, exhibited plant growth‐inhibitory activity. It was purified by continuous chromatography, based on the inhibitory activity against the growth of lettuce seedlings, resulting in two glycosidic compounds, militarine and dactylorhin A. The EC50 values of militarine and dactylorhin A against the radicle elongation of the lettuce seedlings were 0.28 and 0.88 mmol L?1, respectively. The amount of militarine and dactylorhin A in the methanol extract of the aerial part of B. striata was calculated to be 5.6 and 7.5 mg g?1 fresh weight, respectively. The inhibitory activity of militarine and its content in the methanol extract revealed that the plant growth‐inhibitory activity of the extract of B. striata was mainly related to militarine. The inhibitory activity of militarine against the growth of Italian ryegrass and timothy were of the same level as that of lettuce. 相似文献

Herbicidal activity and acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibition of sulfonylurea derivatives with a fused heterocyclic moiety bonded to a sulfonyl group were investigated. Some compounds that had an imidazo[1,2‐b]pyridazine moiety substituted at the 2‐position by chlorine or methyl controlled sulfonylurea‐resistant (SU‐R) weeds and showed inhibitory activity to ALS prepared from SU‐R Schoenoplectus juncoides shoot. There was a correlation between in vitro and whole‐plant herbicidal activity of the compounds mentioned above against SU‐R Schoenoplectus juncoides. Among them 1‐(2‐chloro‐6‐propylimidazo[1,2‐b]pyridazin‐3‐ylsulfonyl)‐3‐(4,6‐dimethoxypyrimidin‐2‐yl)urea, propyrisulfuron, was selected for further evaluation. Propyrisulfuron effectively controlled paddy weeds at doses of 70 and 140 g a.i. ha?1 with good rice selectivity in a field trial. 相似文献

ABSTRACT: The release of zoospores from zoosporangia in Laminaria japonica mainly occurred at night. The maximum swimming speed of the zoospores was observed immediately after release (~160 μm/s), and then decreased with time. The zoospores exhibited clear chemotaxis to high concentrations of nitrate-N and phosphate-P. Only half of the zoospores were observed to swim against seawater with a flow velocity of 124 μm/s. The zoospores became floating spores after they stopped swimming in the seawater. Low light and low water temperature conditions prolonged the swimming period of the zoospores. However, the photosynthesis of the zoospores was suppressed in low water temperatures, and was also limited under high light irradiance. These results suggest that photosynthesis in zoospores does not prolong their swimming period, and that when their swimming energy is exhausted, floating spores appear. 相似文献

Abstract. The causative agent of streptococcal infection of yellowtails has been isolated but no information is presently available with respect to the mechanism of infection. The present study deals with the growth of the bacteria in the fish body at various periods after either per-oral or per-cutaneous challenge with Streptococcus sp. YT-3 strain at different passage levels. After percutaneous challenge with bacteria of high virulence, the kidneys retained the bacteria with the relatively high count of 107 cells per gram of tissue while in other organs, although high concentrations of 105 -106 cells were detected in 10 min, this was followed by a progressive decrease up to 24 h post-inoculation with a subsequent rapid increase during the later stages of the disease process. The highest rate of growth was obtained in the intestine, where 107 cells were detected at 72 h after inoculation. After oral challenge, the bacteria were detected at high levels from organs and blood within 10 min but they were completely removed from all organs except the intestine within 24 h. 相似文献
