The current study was conducted to evaluate the effects of increasing carbon to nitrogen (C/N) ratios on water quality, growth performance, and body composition of Litopenaeus vannamei juveniles. Shrimp with initial average weight of 2.50?±?0.3 g were cultivated for 35 days in 300-L tanks (160 L of water volume) with a density of 1 g per liter. The experiment was performed in five treatments with three replicates. One control group and four biofloc treatments with different C/N ratio were considered: C/N of 10 (CN10), 14 (CN14), 18 (CN18), and 22 (CN22). Shrimp were fed three times a day, and molasses just was added as a carbon sources to the biofloc treatments after each feeding. According to the results, the lowest amount of dissolved oxygen (5.33 mg L?1) and pH (7.83) was observed in CN22 treatment, which showed a significant difference with other treatments (P?<?0.05). The highest level of total ammonia nitrogen (1.05 mg L?1) and nitrite (mg L?1) were recorded in control group, while the highest total density of heterotrophic bacteria was obtained in CN22 treatment. Growth performance parameters were at the highest level in the CN14 treatment, so the highest amount of final weight (6.88 g), biomass, and survival rate (94.79%) were observed in this treatment. The biochemical composition (protein, lipid, and ash) of the shrimp body and produced biofloc were affected by different C/N ratios, so these parameters were increased by rising of C/N ratio. In general, this study showed that the growth performance and body composition of Pacific white shrimp juveniles and water quality were suitable for rearing in biofloc system with C/N ratio of 14 than other treatments.

The development of genotypes with adaptation to a wide range of environments is one of the most important goals of plant breeding programs. In order to compare nonparametric stability measures and to identify promising high-yield and stable barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), 20 barley genotypes selected from the Iran/ICARDA joint project and grown in nine environments during 2009-11 in Iran. Four nonparametric statistical tests of significance for genotype × environment (GE) interaction and 10 nonparametric measures of stability were used to identify stable genotypes in nine environments. Results of nonparametric tests of G×E interaction (Kubinger, Hildebrand, and Kroon/ Laan) and a combined ANOVA across environments, indicated the presence of both crossover and non-crossover interactions. Also, only TOP and rank-sum values were positively associated with high yield. Thus, in the simultaneous selection for high yield and stability, only the rank-sum and TOP methods were useful in terms of the principal component analysis results, and correlation analysis of nonparametric stability statistics and yield. According to these stability parameters (TOP and rank-sum), three genotypes (G13, G12, and G17) were the most stable for grain yield. The results also revealed that based on nonparametric test results, stability could be classified into three groups, according to agronomic and biological concepts of stability.  相似文献

Synthesis of biocompatible polymer nanofibers is valuable, due to their use as a cover for burns and as a replacement for bandage because of their antimicrobial properties. In this study, electrospinning of chitosan(Ch) and nanofibers synthesis with antibacterial properties was investigated. Nanofibers with antibacterial properties were synthesized by electrospun of Ch/poly(L-lactide)(PLA)/Imipenem(Imi) polymer solution. The results showed that the optimized ratio of Ch/PLA polymer solution was ratio of 50:50 and Ch 2 wt% and PLA 10 wt% polymer solution was the best weight percentage for nanofiber preparation. Also, the average diameter of Ch/PLA/Imi nanofibers was 143 nm and measured with ImageJ software. Afterwards, the antibacterial properties of Imi as additives (with different percentages) was studied in the polymer solution. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images and antibacterial tests were showed that the electrospun of Ch/PLA/Imi polymeric nanofibers were effective against Gram negative bacteria Escherichia coli (E. coli) and inhibited growth of E. coli. The growth and viability percentage of fibroblast cells with nanofibers in αMEM culture are at desirable levels after 6 days.  相似文献

We investigated procurement of raw materials for particleboard to minimize costs and develop an efficient optimization model for product mix.In a multiple-vendor market,vendors must be evaluated based on specified criteria.Assuming sourcing from the highest-scoring vendors,annual purchase quantities are then planned.To meet procurement needs,we first propose a model to describe the problem.Then,an appropriate multi-criteria decision making(MCDM) technique is selected to solve it.We ran the model using commercial software such as LINGO and then compared the model results to a real case involving one of the largest particleboard manufacturers in the region.The model run based real data yielded a procurement program that is more efficient and lower in cost than the program currently in use.Use of this procurement modelling approach would yield considerable financial returns.  相似文献

Most of world's forests of different climates have a history of fire, but with different severities. Fire regimes for broadleaf deciduous forests have return intervals that vary from many decades (or less) to centuries (or more). Iran has a total of 1.2 million ha of temperate forest in the north, where fires burn about 300–400 ha annually. This study focused on the impact of fire on forest structure, tree species quality, and regeneration composition (specially beech) in the Chelir forest of northern Iran. The results showed that forest fires changed the structure and had different effects on tree species composition between burned and control areas. Thin barked species such as oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) and coliseum maple (Acer cappadocicum Gled.) have been affected more than those with thick bark, like hornbeam (Carpinus betulus L.) and chestnut-leaved oak (Quercus castaneifolia C.A. Mey). The density of oriental beech regeneration in the unburned area was greater than in the burned area, while the quantity of regeneration of hornbeam, coliseum maple and velvet maple (Acer velutinum Boiss) was higher in burned area. Forest fire had a greater effect on oriental beech quality, and changed regeneration composition in the burned area. Fire prevention activities should be considered as a silvicultural treatment for preserving these valuable forests.  相似文献

The role of nickel (Ni) on urea metabolism of certain plants has been documented, but little is known regarding the growth and physiological response of onion to Ni nutrition, particularly when urea is used as nitrogen source. In this research study, we investigated the effects of Ni on urea metabolism and growth of two onion cultivars (Allium cepa L., cvs. Dorrcheh and Cebolla Valenciana) supplied with urea as nitrogen source. Three levels of Ni (0, 25, and 50 µM) were used in the form of NiCl2 or Ni-histidine [Ni(His)2] complex. Addition of Ni positively affected nitrogen metabolism in onion plants fed with urea and thus was correlated with increase of the bulb yield. Regardless of the plant cultivar and the applied Ni source [NiCl2 or Ni(His)2 complex], an increase in urease activity and reduction in bulb urea concentration was observed by Ni nutrition. An increase in hydrolysis of urea and production of NH4+ in the presence of Ni was correlated with higher concentration of the total amino acids (AAs) and nitrogen in onion bulbs. The efficiency of Ni(His)2 complex in improving Ni uptake and increasing activity of urease and glutamine synthetase, two enzymes involved in urea metabolism, was in general greater than NiCl2. Accordingly, higher concentration of AAs was measured in the onion plants supplied with Ni(His)2 complex than those supplied with NiCl2.  相似文献

Wild almond (Amygdalus scoparia) is a dominant shrub species in mountain forests of the Irano‐Turanian region. Dieback and decline symptoms of wild almond shrubs were first observed in Harat protected forest (Yazd, Iran) in the autumn of 2014. Since then, the incidence and severity of the disease have increased. To study the aetiology and estimate losses from the disease, field studies were conducted in 2016 and 2017. For this purpose, eight stands were selected, in which 24%–99% of the trees were wild almond in their species composition. In total, 50 cankers and 50 infected twigs of wild almond shrubs were collected. Fungal isolates were identified based on morphological and cultural characteristics, as well as sequence data of ITS1 + 5.8S + ITS2 rDNA. Pathogenicity of fungi was checked on detached shoots and evaluated after 40 days by measuring the discoloured lesion length at the inoculation site. Among 681 wild almond shrubs checked, 84.44% showed decline symptoms with different severities; only 15.56% did not show observable disease symptoms. The most frequent colonizers of infected tissues taken from cankers were Wilsonomyces carpophilus (56%), Thyrostroma cornicola (40%) and Collophorina paarla (30%). Infected twigs were extensively colonized by W. carpophilus (36%), Th. cornicola (24%) and Ulocladium consortiale (24%). Other species, such as Endoconidioma populi, Microsphaeropsis olivacea, Trichoderma asperellum, Paecilomyces formosus, Saccothecium rubi, Preussia sp. and Chaetomium globosum, had lower isolation frequencies. W. carpophilus, Th. cornicola, C. paarla and U. consortiale were found as pathogens on detached wild almond shoots. Based on the frequency of the isolates and the pathogenicity tests, four fungi, such as W. carpophilus, Th. cornicola, C. paarla and U. consortiale, are considered serious contributing agents playing a significant role in the dieback and decline of wild almond. All isolated species are reported for the first time on the wild almond shrubs of the world.  相似文献

The present study assessed the effects of different types of feeds and salinity levels on water quality, growth performance, survival rate and body composition of the Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, juveniles in a biofloc system. Shrimp juveniles (2.56 ± 0.33 g) were cultured for 35 days in 300 L fibreglass tanks (water volume of 180 L) with a density of 1 g/L in six treatments. Three sources of feed (100% formulated feed, mixture of 66.6% formulated diet and 33.3% wet biofloc, and 100% wet biofloc) and two levels of salinity (10 and 32 ppt) were considered in two control groups and four biofloc treatments. Water quality parameters in the biofloc treatments were significantly better than control groups (p < .05). The highest increase in growth performance and survival rate were obtained in salinity of 32 ppt and mixed feed sources. Analysing the proximate composition of body shrimp indicates an increase in lipid and ash levels in biofloc treatments, which was more evident in the salinity of 32 ppt. In addition, the proximate analysis of shrimp body showed significant differences between biofloc treatments and control groups (p < .05). The highest FCR was found in the treatment with salinity level of 10 ppt and fed only with floc. Overall, it was found that the artificial diet supplemented with biofloc at the salinity of 32 showed better performance in the juvenile stage of Pacific white shrimp.  相似文献

Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is mainly grown as an oil seed crop in the semiarid and temperate regions of the world. In this study, microsatellite markers were used to evaluate and characterize genetic relationships among 20 safflower genotypes including six Iranian and 14 exotic ones. Nine primer pairs generated clear scoring bands and yielded 22 alleles ranging from 100 to 400 bp with 2-4 alleles per locus. Polymorphic information content (PIC) values ranged from 0.11 to 0.62 with an average of 0.33. The Dice similarity coefficients among the genotypes ranged from 0.06 (between Soviet Union 2 and USA) to 0.95 (between Local Isfahan and Indian 2), indicating a relatively high genetic variation among the safflower genotypes studied. Both cluster and principal components analysis (PCA) clearly classified safflower genotypes into four groups. Results indicated that in most cases safflower genotypes were divided into the groups consistent with their country of origin. Clustering some foreign genotypes into the Iranian group was due to their similar genetic basis and it was suggested that Iran may be the origin of these. The findings suggested that microsatellite markers could be efficiently utilized to assess genetic diversity and relationships among safflower genotypes.  相似文献

Considering the importance of the poultry industry and the increasing interest in alternative growth promoters, probiotics are considered as a potential candidate for use in the poultry industry. In this study, Lactobacillus species were isolated from 21 rectal swabs of 11 healthy 6-day-old and 10 healthy 21-day-old chickens and their fecal and feed samples. The isolates were characterized and their probiotic characteristics, including resistance to gastric acid and bile salts, biofilm formation and adherence to epithelium or mucus, amylase and protease activity and production of inhibitory compounds, were assessed. From 31 acid and bile resistant lactobacilli, only 2 Lactobacillus brevis and 1 Lactobacillus reuteri strains showed significant probiotic properties. These isolates indicated detectable attachment to Caco-2 cells and significant antibacterial activities against Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens. Additionally, phenotypic and genotypic diversity of lactobacilli isolates were studied by Phene Plate (PhP) system (PhP-LB) and random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD)-PCR, respectively. PhP-LB results of 24 L. brevis isolates showed a high phenotypic variation among the isolates. In comparison, results of RAPD-PCR highlighted a low diversity. Therefore, it seems that combination of the 2 techniques (PhP and RAPD-PCR) could result in a significant discriminatory power than each of them used alone.  相似文献
