Monitoring biodiversity at the level of habitats and landscape is becoming widespread in Europe and elsewhere as countries establish international and national habitat conservation policies and monitoring systems. Earth Observation (EO) data offers a potential solution to long-term biodiversity monitoring through direct mapping of habitats or by integrating Land Cover/Use (LC/LU) maps with contextual spatial information and in situ data. Therefore, it appears necessary to develop an automatic/semi-automatic translation framework of LC/LU classes to habitat classes, but also challenging due to discrepancies in domain definitions. In the context of the FP7 BIO_SOS (www.biosos.eu) project, the authors demonstrated the feasibility of the Food and Agricultural Organization Land Cover Classification System (LCCS) taxonomy to habitat class translation. They also developed a framework to automatically translate LCCS classes into the recently proposed General Habitat Categories classification system, able to provide an exhaustive typology of habitat types, ranging from natural ecosystems to urban areas around the globe. However discrepancies in terminology, plant height criteria and basic principles between the two mapping domains inducing a number of one-to-many and many-to-many relations were identified, revealing the need of additional ecological expert knowledge to resolve the ambiguities. This paper illustrates how class phenology, class topological arrangement in the landscape, class spectral signature from multi-temporal Very High spatial Resolution (VHR) satellite imagery and plant height measurements can be used to resolve such ambiguities. Concerning plant height, this paper also compares the mapping results obtained by using accurate values extracted from LIght Detection And Ranging (LIDAR) data and by exploiting EO data texture features (i.e. entropy) as a proxy of plant height information, when LIDAR data are not available. An application for two Natura 2000 coastal sites in Southern Italy is discussed.  相似文献

A simple and rapid method based on microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) coupled to gas chromatographic analysis was developed for the analysis of triazine (atrazine, cyanazine, metribuzine, simazine and deethylatrazine, and deisopropylatrazine) and chloroacetanilide (acetochlor, alachlor, and metolachlor) herbicide residues in soils. Soil samples are processed by MAE for 5 min at 80 degrees C in the presence of acetonitrile (20 mL/sample). Mean recovery values of most solutes are >80% in the 10 to 500 microg/kg fortification range with respective RSDs (relative standard deviations) < 20%. The limits of quantification (LOQ) and limits of detection (LOD) are 10 and 1 to 5 microg/kg, respectively. The method was validated with two types of soils containing 1.5 and 3.0% organic matter content, respectively; no statistically significant differences were found between solute recovery values from the two types of soils. The solute mean recovery values from freshly spiked (24 h aging) and spiked samples stored refrigerated for one week before processed were also not statistically different. Residue levels determined in field weathered soils were higher when soils were processed by MAE than with a comparison method based on flask-shaking of soil suspensions overnight. Extracts were analyzed by a gas chromatographic system equipped either with a thermionic (GC-NPD) or a mass spectrometric detector (GC-MS).  相似文献

One of the key features of the new cultural systems is the control of harmful agents with environment-friendly methods. In this study, the residue levels of chlorothalonil, iprodione, bupirimate, pirimicarb, chlorpyrifos and fenoxycarb in different peach??nectarine cultivars were investigated. It was found that, with the exception of chlorpyrifos, the residue levels of all pesticides were lower than the Maximum Residues Limits (MRLs) in all peach??nectarine cultivars used. The detected levels of chlorpyrifos were higher than the MRLs in the cultivar ??Maria Bianca?? 7?days after application, but in cv. ??Legory Hkcb?? dropped to very low levels 27?days after application. The degradation over time of the above pesticides in fruits was investigated in the peach cv. ??Andross??. The detected residue levels of bupirimate, iprodione, fenoxycarb, chlorpyrifos and pirimicarb in this peach cultivar were much lower than those recommended by the European Union (MRLs) 33, 22, 22, 28, and 63?days, respectively, after application, whereas the residue levels of chlorothalonil were below the limit of detection by the analytical method used. All pesticides showed a reduction over time. When examining the levels of residues of pirimicarb and chlorpyrifos in peaches (cv. ??Andross??) sampled from different parts of the tree canopy, no significant difference was found between samples collected from the top and the middle parts of the canopy; however, residues of pirimicarb were significantly higher in samples collected at the bottom of the canopy. Overall, the pesticide regime gave residue levels much lower than those of MRLs, in all peach??nectarine cultivars. This use of chemicals is in accordance with features of the new cultural systems to produce fruits with no or minimal pesticide residues, in contrast to the conventional system in which pesticide residues are not considered. Attention should however be paid to chlorpyrifos which should be applied at least 27?days before harvest. Factors related to the cultivars and the position of fruits in the tree canopy should be considered when sampling fruits for pesticide residues analysis.  相似文献

This research is a study on the relationship of irrigation water treatments and soil moisture distribution uniformity (DU). Soil moisture distribution was based on long-term data sets that were collected using a novel electromagnetic sensor-based platform moving inside sub-surface horizontal access-tubes. The research was conducted under controlled laboratory conditions in a soil tank. The irrigation treatments regarding two case studies under dry and wet soil conditions (from permanent wilting point to field capacity) were conducted for a period of 115 and 110 days respectively. In dry soil conditions, the irrigation water treatments strongly affect the DU of soil moisture that can be achieved constantly using non-uniform irrigation treatments. In contrast, the DU of soil moisture in wet soil conditions was maintained at a high percentage and was slightly affected by irrigation treatments. However, obtaining accurate soil moisture information at a large scale over a long period can be used to improve water use efficiency.  相似文献

1. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation with hesperidin (one or 3 g/kg of feed) for 31 d on the performance, egg quality and yolk oxidative stability of brown and white laying hens (26-wk old).

2. Supplementation with hesperidin did not affect egg production, egg weight and egg quality traits.

3. No hesperidin effect on yolk and plasma cholesterol was observed. A strain effect was found with lower total and per g yolk cholesterol of brown hens in comparison to the white ones.

4. Oxidative stability of egg yolk, expressed as ng MDA/g yolk, was significantly improved in the hesperidin groups even from the first week of supplementation. At the same time, a significant improvement in the oxidative stability of egg yolk due to the incorporation of hesperidin in hens’ diet was observed after 30 and 90 d of storage at 20°C and 4°C, respectively.

5. No hesperidin by strain interaction was detected for any of the traits measured.

6. In conclusion, incorporation of hesperidin to laying hens’ feed did not affect productive and egg qualitative traits. On the other hand, dietary hesperidin supplementation significantly improved oxidative stability of both fresh and stored eggs. Antioxidant properties of hesperidin seem to make it a promising natural agent for improving the shelf life of eggs.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Plant growth‐promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) can be potential agents for biological control of plant pathogens, while their combined use with conventional pesticides may increase their efficacy and broaden the disease control spectrum. The effect of four different Bacillus sp. PGPR strains (B. subtilis GB03 and FZB24, B. amyloliquefaciens IN937a and B. pumilus SE34) applied individually and in mixtures, as well as in combined use with acibezolar‐S‐methyl (ASM) and hymexazol, on plant growth promotion and on the control of Fusarium crown and root rot (FCRR) of tomato was evaluated. RESULTS: All PGPR strains promoted the tested plant growth characteristics significantly. A higher promoting effect was provided by SE34. Experiments on population dynamics of PGPR strains revealed that, after 28 days of incubation, populations of strain SE34 remained stable, while the remaining bacterial strains showed a slight decline in their population densities. The GB03 and FZB24 strains provided a higher disease suppression when applied individually. However, application of IN937a in a mixture with GB03 provided a higher control efficacy of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis‐lycopersici (Forl). Treatment of tomato plants with ASM resulted in a small reduction in disease index, while application of hymexazol provided significantly higher control efficacy. Combined applications of the four PGPR strains with either ASM or hymexazol were significantly more effective. CONCLUSION: The results of the study indicate that, when bacilli PGPR strains were combined with pesticides, there was an increased suppression of Forl on tomato plants, and thus they may prove to be important components in FCRR integrated management. A simple and rapid method is presented for the analysis of residues of ethylenebis(dithiocarbamate) (maneb, zineb, and mancozeb) and N,N-dimethyldithiocarbamate (thiram and ziram) fungicides in dry tobacco leaves and peaches. Residues are extracted and hydrolyzed to CS(2) in a single step by use of microwave energy in a closed-vessel system while the evolved CS(2) trapped in a layer of iso-octane overlaying the reaction mixture is taken for gas chromatographic-flame photometric analysis. This combined extraction-hydrolysis step is carried out in 10 and 15 min for sets of 12 samples of tobacco and peach matrices, respectively. Total sample preparation time for GC analysis is 40 min. The limits of detection (LOD) are 0.005 mg/kg for thiram and ziram on peaches and 0.1 mg/kg for maneb, zineb, and mancozeb on tobacco. The respective LOD and limit of quantification (LOQ) levels in CS(2) equivalents are 0.003 and 0.006 mg/kg on peaches and 0.04 and 0.2 mg/kg on tobacco, respectively. Recoveries in the 0.01-60 mg/kg fortification range are 80-100% with respective relative standard deviations <20%. The method was used for the analysis of >3000 commercial tobacco samples including also different marketed cigarette brands.  相似文献

Excised twig assay and excised stem inoculation were used to evaluate nine fungicides (metalaxyl, fosetyl-Al, copper hydroxide, copper sulfate, copper oxychloride, captan, quintozene, propamocarb and chlorothalonil) againstPhytophthora cactorum andP. citrophthora associated with crown rot in peach trees. Segments were soaked in fungicide solutions at different concentrations and then inserted vertically intoP. cactorum orP. citrophthora cultures growing on cornmeal agar plus antibiotics, or inoculated by inserting a mycelium-bearing agar plug directly into the cambium. Following incubation, the bark was scraped off and length of necrosis was measured. Metalaxyl was the only fungicide that inhibited canker development on segments at the manufacturer-recommended concentration. Fosetyl-Al, captan, copper hydroxide and copper sulfate inhibited canker development at 3, 4, 4 and 8 gl-1, respectively. The other fungicides did not affect canker length significantly compared with non-treated twigs, with the exception of propamocarb, which reduced the development ofP. cactorum on excised stems. A validated analytical method for the multiresidue analysis of 40 organophosphate pesticides (OPs) and conversion products in raw wool has been developed. The method is based on the selective microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) of raw wool with acetonitrile and analysis of extracts by gas chromatography-flame photometric detector. The optimum MAE conditions were 20 min duration at 80 °C with 30 mL of acetonitrile per gram of wool. A validation study was performed according to the European SANCO guidelines 10684/2009. Limits of detection and quantification for all pesticides tested were from 0.01 to 0.2 mg/kg and from 0.2 to 1.0 mg/kg, respectively. The average recoveries of pesticides spiked at different levels were in the range of 70-120% with relative standard deviations of ≤ 20%. The extraction performance was compared to the one obtained with a reference Soxhlet extraction. The method was also applied in the analysis of real wool (after field application) samples.  相似文献
