Pleurotus citrinopileatus Singer has recently become a popular delicacy in East Asian countries. We prepared a methanol extract, soluble fractions
from the methanol extract, and a hot water extract of the fruiting bodies of P. citrinopileatus. The biological activities such as melanin biosynthesis inhibition, tyrosinase inhibition, antioxidant activities [1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl
(DPPH) radical scavenging, oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC), and superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like activity], antibacterial
activities, and antihyaluronidase activities of these extracts were evaluated. We found that the n-hexanesoluble, diethyl ether-soluble, and ethyl acetate-soluble fractions exhibited melanin biosynthesis inhibition in B16
melanoma cells, as well as antioxidant (ORAC) and antibacterial activities. However, the n-butanol-soluble and water-soluble fractions and the methanol and hot water extracts exhibited antioxidant (DPPH radical scavenging,
SOD-like activity) and antihyaluronidase activities. These results indicate that the fruiting bodies of P. citrinopileatus have the potential to be used as an ingredient in skin cosmetics. 相似文献

Angiotensinogen, the precursor of a vasoactive octapeptide angiotensin II, is the only known natural substrate of renin, and its reaction exhibits strict species specificity and is the rate-limiting step in the renin-angiotensin system that controls the blood pressure. We measured blood pressure and heart rate of the transgenic mice with overproduced human angiotensinogen, and showed no significant difference in these parameters between transgenic and nontransgenic mice. We also provided evidence that mouse renin could not cleave human angiotensinogen, indicating a lack of angiotensin production from the human substrate. These results suggested that the blood pressure of transgenic mice is normally maintained, probably due to the inability of mouse renin to release angiotensin from the transgene products. 相似文献

Elastin hydrolysate has apparent beneficial effects, and the food-derived peptide prolyl-glycine (Pro-Gly) is present in human blood after oral ingestion. Following ingestion of elastin hydrolysate (10 g/60 kg body weight) by healthy human volunteers, peripheral blood was used to prepare plasma samples from which peptides were extracted by solid phase extraction and fractionated by size-exclusion chromatography (SEC). Peptides in the SEC fractions were derivatized with phenyl isothiocyanate (PITC) and resolved by reversed phase (RP)-HPLC. Pro-Gly was the major food-derived elastin peptide, reaching a maximum (18 μM) at 30 min after ingestion, and decreasing to approximately 20% at 4 h after ingestion. Finally, in cell culture, levels of Pro-Gly in the medium above 0.1 μg/mL significantly enhanced elastin synthesis of normal human dermal fibroblasts (NHDF) without affecting the rate of cell proliferation. 相似文献
